how do u know Sam has phlegm?? my gal keeps making the coughing sound and also keeps trying to clear her throat so my mil says she has phlegm. shld i brng her to the pd then?

i think all mothers n mils will think babies have phlegm - which is true lor! just whether it's serious enough.

hmm.. hard to advise u. but if u're v concerned, n she's having difficulty breathing or drinking or sleeping, guess it's gd to have a check? i suppose we're aws willing to spend on our bbs as parents.

basically it's the throat clearing noise, coughing, choking when drinking etc etc symptoms for sam.

I have read that formula fed babies tend to put on more weight than breastfed babies. Mine saidly has put on only 1.3 kg after 6 weeks! And she was born very small, about 2.7 kg. Feeling very impatient for her to get bigger.

I do often wonder if I feed her enough because i only offer one side at each feed. She will usually empty the breast completely but because i rarely pump, I dont know how much that is. And she usually cries after being fed. At first, I thought because she stil hungry and would top up with formula, then she'd throw up. So end up, I just ignore her when she cried after being fed and burped. Hmm... so how to tell whether she's still hungry and whether i feed her enough or not?

At least the doctor can do something about it, taht's good. Hopefully the problem will go away soon when the stomach muscle matures a bit more.

I dont know about this breastpad but dont buy the lansinoh wool lanoline breastpads. They look like a piece of round wool cloth. Cant absorb much at all. When I used it, my clothes end up getting all wet. Useless and expensive. The ones you are talking about hopefully will be better.

Hmm... I just gave baby 60ml of expressed milk just to tide her by till her next feed, but in the end she scream for more so I latched her on and she end up emptying the breast! Wodner if she's getting enough usually if that's the case. Sigh... really hate bfing sometimes. So much problems and guesswork.

fm fed babies will put on lots of weight later on but usually its the tbf bbs who chunk up lots weight during initial mths, dun ask me why cos i alsoo dunno LOL.

many of my frd tbf bb all put on min 1.5kg. some can go up to 2kg but later on they will slow down on their weight gain whereas the fm fed babies will cont to put on steady weight. i read this from somewhere n also based on observation lo

I had to to use binder 24/7 because mine was c-sec, so without any extra form of abdominal support, moving around can actually be quite torturous. So the Belly Bandit worked as a 2-in-1 slimming + support for my c-sec lo.

I think the bigger issue is how to store enough EBM for your bb before you leave! It's always kind of stressful when there's a quota to hit.

Unfortunately (for both you and me), I also have to massage my boobs quite fervently if trying to empty via pumping. But not the to extent of feeling bruised lah. Just try to be gentle (but maintain firm strokes) during massage. I know it feels damn shiok to press/rub hard hard and see all the BM squirting out in all directions, but 10mins later, we'll be the ones feeling the ache! Machiam kenna punched on the boobs like that.

I'm also leaving K to cry partly out of no choice (not counting the pre-bedtime crying). Scrub clothes halfway then hands dirty, cannot go pick him up. Then when I'm done, he stopped. Then once I start dong something else that doesn't allow me to pick him up (like showering #1), he'll cry again. He never seems to cry when I'm free lor!

I haven't use the football hold for a very long time. Love this position for the first 2 weeks until he got bigger, I changed to cradle instead. Hmm.. then I need to find something to support the nursing pillow from below. Else, just pump after I feed him.

My boy also making noise when drinking and sleeping. Also thought he has phlegm. Went to the PD, she says no phlegm but cos bb's throat cartilage muscles is not fully developed yet, thus it collapses, resulting in the snorts, grunts. This problem seems to be affecting my boy's sleep at night(and also my sleep). However, it's much better during the day. PD says unless he turns blue or what, else monitor and see if it gets any worse.

Hmm.. a friend passed me a binder which she used for her back. I suppose serves the same purpose, can make my tummy flatter hor? Hehe... Sad sad, I have a lot of loose skin. Tummy was huge when pregnant considering I am of petite size. Malay massage can only make the tummy goes down, but can't do anything to the loose skin. Feels so unsexy leh when I wore my pre-pregnancy bottoms and the flabby skin and tummy just drops out.

My massage lady suggests that I go get a girdle to wear together with the use of firming gel. Really hope the loose skin can be taut soon. Is it even possible??

Sashimi, crabs, fast food, ramen, deep fried food... haiz, not enough rest, up the whole night and gets too hungry. I am losing my appetite. Just eating for the sake of eating Don't even gian these cravings anymore. I feel so so weak in the early morning when my boy wakes up for the day. Don't even have the strength to carry him and he wants to be carried and entertained.

wanna ask those mommies whom have step out for shopping with bb!.. do u BF in the public? with the nursing ponchos?
but how do u turn bb to switch the breast under the ponchos?

right now, when i BF 1 side, bb will fall asleep and then abt 15mins to 30 mins he will wake up again and cried for milk, then i will offer the other side.
if im going to do this when outside, i will need to find a seat to BF him for an hour or so...

feeling so so badly to wanna go out and take a walk, window shop and relax..

That's the same reason why I chucked my Breast Friend pillow by the time #1 turned 6wks old. It just couldn't support him properly anymore. It was more of a hassle for me to take all the time to buckle it on, then end up still have to use my hands to hold up the pillow AND baby!

Girdle + firming/slimming gel only works to a certain extent, I think. But if you have the energy/time to slather gel and put on binder, I guess no harm done? Try lor, cos these gel/cream things don't work for everyone.

My tummy's the same. Can wear pre-preg bottoms, but the flabby skin is just so sad and droopy. When will I be taut again?!

Me. I lost my appetite almost completely. Eating for the sake of eating lor. Even when hungry between meals also not motivated to go eat anything. MIL told me to take chicken essence to get some nutrients since i'm not eating properly. Seems to at least prevent me from getting dizzy whenever I pump/feed.

Nursing wear + Sling/pouch. Too troublesome to be slinging bb and still wearing poncho lah. Will look like crazy person. Then just continue to walk walk while bb is nursing lo.
Then when wanna switch breast, just find a quieter spot to get dressed properly and cover up the exposed boob, pick up bb from sling, then side him back in to latch on other side lo. Just don't swap sides while standing in the middle of the mall lah, sure attract attention one.

I have one more pack of Fitti S i think she can still wear for one more week, then i will start her on pampers S then the Fitti M which i already bought. Pampers S is bigger than Fitti S but small than Fitti M, so buy 6 packs of M also quite a lot...

Eh, if you want, then why not get 2 Fitti S and 4 fitti M -so, you can take the Fitti S and 1 Fitty M then I take 3 Fitti M. we split 50-50 lah.
Anyway, i might want to try other brands like Pet Pet for size M.

This is a myth. Mine is in line for 1st bb boy n my 2nd bb is gal. Many elder say my 2nd sure a boy but it's a gal.

last nite my gal finally woke up at 1am. she slept 7 hrs straight from 6pm!

her feeding amt seems to have gone back to normal today. now i'm thinking of how to get her to do that again, sleep 7hrs straight all the way at nite! then i'd be a very happy mommy. haha..

though i keep track, but its also not an exact amt, especially for the latching on, i also don't know how much she takes in, but i base it on how much i pump out and add another 5-10ml. coz i think when she latches she gets more then when i do pumping.

my postnatal massage experience

just had my 3rd session of post natal massage. i can see some difference. my tummy has gone down more, i notice that my linea negra line is thinner now, before that the line was broad coz the skin was looser.

i would like to recommend my masseuse because i think she's good. she even patiently taught me how to do massage for my baby. today, my bb was fussing and wouldn't sleep, she even helped me to put my gal to sleep. i'm pleased and impressed! so if anyone is keen, PM me for her contact.

by the way, mommies who did postnatal massage, did u do for 5 or 7 days?

haha. dun worry. my bb look skinny too. so skinny pple tot he is very tall. but he is only 53-54cm. not exactly tall for a 6wks old bb. i oso latch him direct. haven tried bottle feeding. i m tryin bottle feed for the first time later in de evening when he wakes up. so excited. =p

same as me. cant massage. actually cos i dun bottle feed bb previously. so very stress when massage lady comes. cos got to plan timing nicely. wake bb up 1hr before massage lady comes, feed him, make sure he is full, put him to sleep, so he doesnt cry. not very useful even if got pple ard, cos cant bottle feed n if he hungry, i hear him scream. my heart pain =p

Eh... He was 5.54kg @ 5wks old, so I'm guessing he should be at least 6kg now? The whole point of using a sling/pouch is to take the weight of bb off you mah. Nan dao must sit there and BF and waste time?! I feel my time is so precious nowadays, if I manage to go out, I will not let nursing slow me down!

yep, my ML is a malay lady. so you did yours did u see any difference? her session is 1hr $65. if u want her contact, PM me. but just to let you know, her massage is quite painful, for me esp doing the foot part. she said got to use force to push the muscles n bones and also to break up the fats, if not hard to slim down. **faint*

ya lor, like ytd when my bb slept so long, i was quite worried! kept feeling her head and taking tempreture. but she slept so soundly.. at one point i touch her she didn't even stir like she normally would. got frightened, quickly on the light, check if still breathing or not!

regarding ML, she never said anything about not wanting to come when there's no one else taking care of bb. but normally my MIL will come over, today she was not around, but it worked out fine as my ML helped me to soothe her to sleep. i thought it was very nice of her. you should try to put her to sleep lor around the time the ML is coming, then should be np. but today, not sure why my gal super awake, i just couldn't get her to fall asleep, so i was glad the ML cld get her to sleep, so i can do my massage in peace! btw, my cot is in my MBR where i do my massage, so i can still keep an eye on her. i also started at 1 mth as mine is C-sect, i didn't want to take the risk and start too early, just in case the wound is affected. for me, i can see the difference lor like my tummy area, my hb said he can see my thighs slimmed down, not as bloated n fat as before.
