i called my HB and tell him what MIL said..and added.. i'm not going to do it...
coz i wont say negative things to my daughter...
i believe in the power of confession and i wont want to confess such things upon her life..

but wear clothes i'm neutral..no harm caused.. but i still never tell CL abt it... haha.. i just let her do what she has been doing..
soemtimes she let bb wear opposite..sometimes no.. i dun bother to ask....

my girl has stuffy nose in the air con room also..and we have it 26 and 27 degrees hor....

NO NO food includes cabbage, garlic, onions, broccoli, cheese, yougurt, ice-cream, coffee, tea, soft drinks, chocolate candy, hot cocoa. cause irritability and also more frequent need for feeding (as indicated)...

Hello Mommies...

I have not washed my hair in the longest time... I practically look like a singh right now with my hair bunned up right at the top of my head... I can't bear to have my UNWASHED hair touch my BB... >.< 9 more days to go... 30days of unwashed hair is all I can take!

My BB breathes hard when she drinks too... And sometimes she looks like she's been milk deprived when I put the bottle of EBM to her lips... Guess due to her sleeping for 4-5hrs in a row...

I have a stupid question to ask... After you pump/latch... Do you clean your nipples or the area around it?

I have normal let down on my left boob... Boob which had "strawberry milk" in the first few days of BF-ing )But my right boob ( Which was engorged and now fine but bruised due to my vicious abusive massage) let down is a few drops only... Why is that so? Anyone know? X3

Experienced mommies, When you BB of 3 weeks needs to poopoo... Do they cry like they are having a hard time poopoo-ing? My girl does cry during her sleep sometimes.. But I leave her be, and she stops within seconds...

Hello ALL...

Don't get so worried...What we eat and drinks affects breast milk and 'MAY' affect our bb...NT DEFINITE...

Coz SOME bbs haf food sensitivities or allergies tat bring on colic-like symptoms. these include crying, fussing, frequent nursing and tummy discomfort. And those food may tigger these responses...so if we wanna play safe, juz avoid those food coz we wldn't know if our bb has food sensitivities.

If is real colic, it occurs 3x a day when bb is 2-3wks old. And it last for at least 3hrs a day until bb is abt 3mths old...However if it's due to food sensitivity, it happened oni when we eat something specific. once we remove it fr our diet, the colicky symptoms will stop.

so no worries no worries...

Thawing milk - my packet took of 140ml took about 12 hrs to thaw.

Food to avoid during bfeeding - basically it's any food that cause wind, possible food allegies and spicy food. The second n third group may or may not affect your babies. Have to trial n error.
 
Hi all mummies

Anyone had virginal infection after giving birth. Urine that time is painful and had yellowish smelly discharge? Pls advise how your gynae advise you to keep clean of that area? Mine just told me to wash with normal soap and water and no antiseptic solution given also.

Also anyone whom had c-sect and done the post natal massage. When is the safe time to do?
 
Acneery Gal, I have done the massage 1 mth after the op. My gynae said it's safe to do it 2 wks after but there are some gynae who suggest not to massage at all. If you "dare" to do it, don't wait too long, otherwise, won't be effective.

By right, when our babies cry (or even other babies cry) will stimulate us to letdown one lor.
But I've never had it. Some of my nursing friends will leak like siao when their babies cry. So they get very jumpy when they go out. If bb cry, they will start to leak!

I did my postnatal massage 2wks after c-sec for #1, and 3wks after #2.

As for vaginal infection, it really depends on what kind of infection it is. Most infections will cause pain during urination, as well as smelly discharge that is yellow/green/brown in color.
What kind of infection did your gynae say it was?

u all have been mentioning that supply will drops when it's period time. Does this mean that when we latch, there will be insufficient milk to feed our bb? So we need to store milk for say the 7 days of period?

I took Fenugreek after my delivery of #2 &amp; #3 and it did help. But cannot eat the amount as advised on bottle.. Last time mummies in SMH advised to take 3 pills 3 times a day... But TMC consultant also advised to take more (2 tabs 3 times a day) than what's stated in bottle... After that I moved on to Goat's Rue...

Now cause supply still no good so I thinking of taking fenugreek and Goat's Rue on alternate days/weeks..

anyway unless bb has gt this prob, think if bf for long, difficult to avoid those food totally...esp ice-cream and chocolate!!!

Haven't been logging in and I probably have missed out on alot of things. I have given birth to a baby girl on 30 Sep via natural delivery with epidural (induced labour).

Have been really busy for the past 1 week. Only managed to use the com now cos CL &amp; Mum forbid me to do anything but rest andI'm surfing the internet secretly now.

Breastfeeding
Tried TBF for the first few days but supply is really not enough and we were told baby suffered from dehydration when we consulted our PD. Was very heartpain to hear that cos we insisted on TBF and caused baby to suffer as a result. PD told us to give formula milk immediately.

But I've been trying to latch her on now and pump as and when I feel my breasts become full. But somehow the supply is still insufficient. So I just top up with formula milk whenever my girl is not full after latching on or giving EBM. I really envy those mommies with lots of BM. breastfeeding is really tough!

my lochia hasn't ended. it's brownish and light now (been 2 weeks after my delivery only). for me, supply dipped for 1-2 days prior to my period. when i had my period, supply had returned to normal. so whenever supply dips, i know period is coming. my number one still have enough intake cos he was on semi-solids when my period started coming back.

I walked by your salon on Sunday. Browsed the hair colors at the door.
Was thinking of dyeing my hair flaming red (to irk my hubs). Or purple. Or blue.
But last few times I tried to do these colors, they all told me I have to bleach my hair first.
I can't bleach, cos my hair will turn damn brittle and break easily.

I already don't have much hair (in terms of length), if break after bleaching, it'll turn back into a short crop again!
How arh? Really must bleach huh?

For the red.. Can be done without bleaching. As for purple or blue.. It has to be bleached to attain the colors.. Because Asian hair gas stubborn pigments... Night Elf... You're a gamer too eh?

Effect on milk production

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) appears to be the herb that is most often used to increase milk supply. It is an excellent galactagogue, and has been used as such for centuries. In one study of ten women, "the use of fenugreek significantly increased volume of breastmilk" [Swafford 2000].

Mothers generally notice an increase in production 24-72 hours after starting the herb, but it can take two weeks for others to see a change.

Dosages of less than 6 capsules/day (approx 3500 mg/day) produce no effect in many women. One way to determine if you're taking the correct dosage is to slowly increase the amount of fenugreek until your sweat and urine begin to smell like maple syrup. If you're having problems with any side effects, discontinue use and consider alternative methods of increasing milk supply.

Fenugreek can be used either short-term to boost milk supply or long-term to augment supply and/or pumping yields. There are no studies indicating problems with long-term usage. Per Kathleen Huggins "Most mothers have found that the herb can be discontinued once milk production is stimulated to an appropriate level. Adequate production is usually maintained as long as sufficient breast stimulation and emptying continues"

Fenugreek is used to flavor artificial maple syrup, and is used as a common food ingredient (curries, chutneys, etc.) and traditional medicine in many parts of the world, including India, Greece, China, north Africa and the Middle East. It is a basic ingredient of curry powder (often used in Indian cooking) and the Five Spice mixtures (used in Asian cooking). It is also eaten as a salad and sprouted.

Possible side effects and cautions

* Sweat and urine smells like maple syrup; milk and/or breastfed baby may smell like maple syrup.
* Occasionally causes loose stools, which go away when fenugreek is discontinued.
* Use of more than 100 grams of fenugreek seeds daily can cause intestinal distress and nausea (recommended dose is less than 8 grams per day).
* Repeated external applications can result in undesirable skin reactions.
* Ingestion of fenugreek seeds or tea in infants or late-term pregnant women can lead to false diagnosis of maple syrup urine disease in the infant due to presence of sotolone in the urine.

my bb sudden outbreak with lot of lots of pimples with pus in his face, forehead, scrap &amp; even around the neck... i have stopped applying creme for bb cuz he like to licks his mittens , and he like to rub his mittens all over his face head &amp; neck....

all bb colars stain with yellowish pus... see already very CAKESIM.. how old such rashes/pimple will go away ah?

sobsob....even his eye brow is all over with pus....
