thanks... i think i will stopped overfeeding her. need to find ways to stop her from wailing esp after 15 or 20mins of feed. Sometimes it's like not enuff for her cos her head turn right and left with wide open mouth still wanting milk. So hubby is suggesting mayb we should use pacifier.. sigh..

Milkyway, I am in the same situation as you... my son also can suck forever, drink forever... I already surrender use pacifier...

Honestly, if I have a choice, I won't want it... even with pacifier, sometimes he still refuse cause no milk come out.. He's only 1 week old and I seriously think if I give him 120ml milk or even more, he also can finish..

join me in the human pacifier club! my boy sometimes just wants to suckle... my #1 uses pacifier as my MIL wants, since she takes care of #1 when i work, i have no choice but to give in. this time i wonder should i give #2 pacifier, but same thing, my MIL will take care of him when i'm back to work, so most likely will end up giving him pacifier. sighz

wow urs drink so much? mine i dont know cos i have been fully latching her. But she can suckle forever if i dont break her after 15-20mins. So now i gotta find ways to make her stop wanting more.

Cause I latch him on and he still can take 90ml of FM... my hubby lah.. siao one.. sometimes I ask him to make 30ml FM after I latch Jordan on, he will make 60... ask him make 60ml, he make 90.. tell me nevermind lah.. let him drink... *faintz*

Jordan can just keep sucking and finish the 90ml after latch on loh... but I normally agar agar drink 30-60ml I will remove the bottle.. lol if not he will finish the whole bottle loh..

Which I estimate will be 120ml in total cause I express will have at least 30ml... if not more..

its not the issue of absorbancy. Its the thickness. Pampers is the thinest and not so warm. My kids all true Singaporean, cannot live without aircon type, otherwise get heat rash, diaper rash, etc. That's why I swear by pampers only. But I usually wait till sale then buy more. Price difference btn normal and sale price is a lot.

having a baby will change your life. I used to be cheongster and have lots of hobbies. Very hiao too, always in heels and nicely coiffed hair and neatly manicured nails. But after baby, I only wear flats and at most low heals, hair is kept short and easy to maintain, no longer colour my nails and cheong home to by baby every day after work. I even stopped wearing make up to work at one stage. My old friends could not believe I told them I don't wear make up to work. It was only after baby turn 1 year that I started to be more hiao again but a few months later, pregnant again and back to aunty pattern again. Bought 2 pairs of heels from HK just few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Haven't even had the chance to wear until now, dunno mouldy or not.

why give knuckle to suck and not pacifier? I resisted giving pacifier to my #1 for a long time but in the end still gave him as he started to suck his own fingers which would have been a harder habit to kick. Now thinking of giving my #2 pacifier to satisfy her comfort sucking instead of me having to be human pacifier all the time. Save the secondary caregivers some agony as well.

I have no intention to circumcise my boys at all. It's their penis, so I feel they should be the ones to decide if they want to be circumcised. Especially since we're not bound by religion or customs to do it, even less reason for them to go through the agony. Unless there's a medical reason for them to undergo it, I'm not considering at all.

You should show your hubs a video of baby being circumcised. Looks so damn cruel and painful!!

Out of curiosity hor, do you let her empty out at least 1 breast? Maybe if she's getting all foremilk and not enough hindmilk, she may still show signs of being hungry (ie: turn head left &amp; right trying to root) because the milk is not rich enough. So even though her tummy is full of milk until she merlion, it's not the thick fatty milk, so she don't feel full? Or she could just be tam jiak...

It's not called "auntie pattern" lah, it's just being practical! Hard to balance in heels while carrying baby leh! As for the manicured nails, hard to find time to go manicurist, and hard to find time to DIY also! dunno how many times I kenna disturbed when waiting for polish to dry, then end up chipping it while doing something for the kid. So I have to wait until past midnight, when he's deep in sleep, then I can start my manicure/pedicure. Now with 2 to juggle, I can't even be bothered to try DIY lor.

I do give my kids pacifier leh. But #2 is not keen on it. He will spit it out with much fervor! But ok lah, since he don't require me to be human pacifier also.

What I mean by giving bb finger to suck is just to test whether they are hungry, or want to suck for comfort. Then we respond accordingly lah. If ask me to give them finger to suck for comfort, I might as well as give boob lah. Since either way it'll incapacitate me also.

pd wont tell u whether a baby needs to be circumcised lah. its the parents personal choice. but usually if the boy often gets urine infection, pd will suggest to circumcise. but i agree with shelled, its really painful!! i once saw a boy who just undergone circumcision, abt 5 yrs old he ws crying non stop n his penis looked so sore n red!

my boy didnt go for ciscumcision, his surgery was to bring down his testicle. cos at birth one of his testicle still stuck in his tummy, hasnt descended so he needed surgery at 2 yr old.

yup normally i feed 1 side first and it should be emptied by late afternoon/evening. She only tam jiak at certain times leh and so far dont have a fix timing. So see how lah...

I spent over 200 bucks at Pedro on heels. In the end I found out I was pregnant, Each shoe only wore once. >.<
 
milkyway, I got express but I only heat up max 90ml for baby... cause for EBM, I ration properly already so hubby cannot get "extra" from each feeding so I never feed baby more than 90ml one if I never latch on and 30ml if I latch on before giving bottle..

He will just drink loh.. no matter how much u give him.. he will close his eyes lah and still drink.. hahaha

have to burp a lot of time.. gd if can burp b4 feed too... i have to burp him halfway thru feeding when he stop.. then he burp liao, stomach got new space.. will then con't feed... =)

Phew... finally over le... Going thru natural birth w/o epi. the pain reli nightmare lor. lucky my labour pain only few hrs. Will update the detail again tmr maybe. now cant concentrade think i use too much of the laughing gas.

Congrats Sarah!!! Kudos to you man... go through natural birth without epi...

Babies need to learn how to latch on.. maybe you can squeeze out a little milk on ur nipple then touch her lips, maybe when she get a little taste of it will know that its the milk source? heheh

oh...good to know that.. at least i think my gal should be full..but she used to be nursing for like 20min - 40min..
but just yest her feeds were only 10-15min..she'll spit out and fall asleep..
and she can sleep for 2 hours before waking for next feed.. i was wondering she really full or not.. keke..:p

i read from kellymom that sometimes they cry coz they just wanna nurse....means suckle.but doesnt mean they want to drink...
so now i've learnt tht my gal is fussy during evening period ard 5-9pm..so she'll just wanna suckle n suckle for min, fall asleep, wake up wanna suckle again..
i just let her be...i used to wonder why she still hungry and then got all anxious issit my supply not enough or what..
but now i know its just her fussy time... let her suckle..once she suckle enough, she'll go to sleep..

congrats! so its money well spent! at times its worth it to spend more on a good pump.

if u concern whether ur gal taking enuf hind milk during the 15 mins latch, after she unlatch u squeeze a bit from ur nipple lor. if its thick means she must have had some hind milk. its possible to still be taking foremilk in 10 mins, depending on how much supply u have. if ur breasts is very engorged, possibility of more foremilk is greater than a normal full breast.

in the evenings, milk production usually slow down so the evening milk contains more fats. maybe thats why some babies have cluster feeds in the evenings. to build up reserve for the longer hours of absence of nite feeds. this is just my deduction lah.

How many and what kind should I get to store my BM?

9.90 for Evenflo glass bottles worth it? Or is there another kind anyone can recommend?

I currently have 1 glass bottle and 2 Avent small bottles and 1 large avent bottle which I have not used yet.

I'm still wearing disposable panties at home... My MIL washes my clothes... So I don't dare to put my underwear in... Got blood stains. >.<my>.<

My Engorgement seems to be better.. I think I can express up to 100ml for both breasts when BB is 9 days old? Is that good anot? I used your "HB torturing" method for 2 days. The rest I did it myself. XD I didn't wanna use the cold cabbage method because I read it relieves the pain BUT reduces milk flow. My milk is very precious.. So I threw away the leaves bit by bit.. Don't wanna let my MIL know I never use when I ask my HB to buy. X3

I wanna ask where do I get maternity pads with wings? I cannot stand using the Pureen madame maternity pads because I keep leaking at both sides!!! I'm so tempted to use my sanitary pads with wings which I haven't used in 9 over mths but I'm afraid they'll pull my stitches!

Longan Drink,

The longan &amp; dates drink can be drunk at room temperature? My MIL cooks it for me every 2 days... She says cannot add sugar, and the flask she keeps it in doesn't keep it warm.. I get abit disgusted drinking it >.<

We have to bath in the herb, and when I bath BB, It's using warm tap water... Like that means I can use tap water bath ma.. No? Make life so difficult.. I can cut down on the things my MIL have to prepare for me everyday if only things weren;t this troublesome... Pfft~

i didn't use any maternity pad, just used the norm night pad with wings. try sofy or laura f- any cotton based ones are fine, not those netting kinds if u know what i mean.

I got my gynae appointment timing all wrong... It was supposed to be at 12pm.. I thought 3pm, The nurse called me at 1pm and told me they close at 1pm on Saturdays, told me to come down now and they waited for me. >.< Baby got me all muddleheaded...

I reached at 1.30, got my stitches removed. (FINALLY no more pulling) She said I've got good skin so I healed really quick. =3 Now I've just got to apply the cream 3 times a day for a week

From what I know, there aren't any maternity pads with wings. So you can just use regular pads that have wings lah. Why would you think the regular ones will pull your stitches??

I also wore disposable panties at home cos I was lazy to wash. But the flow tapered down quite a lot within the 1st week and didn't stain anything, so I went back to regular (not so ugly) panties.

100ml for 2 boobs sound fairly decent.

i only can pump like 30-50ml when i was 9 days loh... haha..need to pump a few times to make up one feed..

very portable and light! hehehe..

I'm kind of an environment freak... So I do not wish to use milk bags, as I think ozone is damaged enough. Would prefer milk bottles even if space is limited. Dammit, If only I had the time today I would have made a trip to the nursery to ask for milk bottles. I can't find NUK glass bottles at Kiddy Palace. Well, that's at the TPY one.

My Milk Supply, Yea.. I guess it's picking up... I hope it goes up and up and UP... Then I won't have to resort to FM at ALL! Though it gets tiring for me now clearing my blocked ducts and massaging as I pump... But I believe it will all pay off.. ( Or God Help Me )

I think mine was like only 3-5 knots? That's why she didn't use the melt one. She cut off all the knots just now saying I will feel much better after they are removed. ( And I Feel Soooooo Good Now ) Ahh~ Yes... I actually figured a way to encounter the "uncomfortable" or "pain" with the stitches on when anyone wants to get up or go to a sitting position or lying position. Just like giving birth! Just take a deep breathe before you do any of these actions... Then Exhale as you proceed... It worked for me! But now, I don't have that problem... Lol... Try it!

u can ask the nurses in nursery of TMC to give empty glass bottles. but u need to buy the bottle caps yourself. i a bit greedy, asked the nurses to give me bottles a few times during my hospital stay, then before i discharge, i asked for FM sample as i wanted the new bottles and they gave me some. keke.

i'm using normal pad with wings now.

yesterday when CL brought the sleeping boy to me and said he was hungry. i pretended talk to my boy "u better don't bluff me. sleep how to drink milk?!" i still latching only so night time no need CL to feed EBM, so i will ask her to burp my boy and change diaper. make sure she has work to do

my boy can empty one breast in 10 min, but dunno is it because he drink very fast, or milk in my breast too little??

930am-CTG for 20 mins at gynae's clinic
10am-gynae insert haf tablet of medicine into my V.
1045am-do CTG again for 1 hr after that proceed to delivery suite.
2pm-contraction came abt 10 mins but bearable and this feeling keep going on till next morning. Sometimes the contraction gone. which i manage get some sleep that nite if not i will bcame panda. Was wondering why gynae dont insert haf pill more after 6 hrs. forget it.

830am-gynae came around tis time. broke my water bag and drip water.
9am-feeling came very fast. start to use laughing gas abit
930am onwards-cant tahan anymore laughing gas is being abused. im using it like a drug addicted. tears flow down fm my eyes (not much la hee...) 1 hand lifting the gas and the other squeezing my hb hand like playdol.

i was stubborn enough not to use the laughing gas permanently even though the nurses keep telling me to put it on permanently if i dun want epidural..
but i find it too drowsy..so i took it on and off...end up gotta use pethidine to relax me..
hahaha...then that was when they got HB to force laughing gas on me permanently..and i became drowsy and semi-conscious..
hahaha...then it was grabbing my HB's hand whenever the contractions come..and let go when the contractions end... heee..
ooh.. u used the gas urself....i had no strength by then to use it liaoz... HB had to use 1 hand to put gas on me..the other hand for me to grab and squeeze..
hahaha...
yeah..its a good experience..
pray the next one be better... wahhhaha.. :p

at first put de herbs itchy. now after 5hrs not so bad liaos. but de bind so tight, make me so uncomfortable. juz now lie in bed, on aircon n fan oso cant sleep. cos so uncomfortable -_-"

erms. how come u all still pumping? u mean pump to feed bb? or after feed bb still can pump extra to store for future use?

waiwai> aiyoh. i din even ask my cl to burp my boy, i feed n burp him myself. usually i dun mind i put him to bed myself. but expect her to at least help out when she hear him struggling. but she continued sleeping like a pig. zzz. so pissed off -_-

Ya i hold the gas myself. using aggressively but still consious and giddy. i know what happened just no strenght to bother. time passed very fast also. u realised?

ask u ah. colostrum can pump out de ma? i find too tired to latch her everytime. maybe still in hospital. backache and leg pain.

agree, in salon business, presentation is everything. Just yesterday, I wanted to have a haircut. Went to Parkway Parade for convenience (not my usual hairdresser. There was Supercuts and another salon next door. I went to Supercuts asking for senior stylist but they didn't rank their stylist. They allocated an aunty to cut my hair. I thought for a while, stood up and walked out. I really didn't want to end up with an aunty hairstyle!!!
 
Just did full month celebration for my baby today. Find it so tiring. My parents decided to bring my toddler back for one night. Feel something missing with him gone.

Next week doing another session for friends. Not looking forward coz CL will be gone and it will be even more tiring.

yah..pump for future use..and also for nite feed..every nite 2 feed CL will feed.. i will get up to pump to relieve engorgement..
at least not so tiring..and when bb bottle feed..she tend to sleep longer..for my bb la...
so we both no need to get up every hour to feed..

my girl keep crying when she wanna sleep... and i oso forgotten how my #1 behave for the first few months...

i can keep patting, carrying etc for 1hr plus but she never get into deep sleep and keep crying. gosh i going get crazy soon!
