TMC membership card discount i think will still valid, cos they will send u a temp. card while they r processing. it is worthwhile to use the discount early.. cos i used it for discount in detailed scans and parentcraft class le.

Why need to do health screening now when you are pregnant? Some of those tests you mentioned, your gynae should be monitoring for you throughout your pregnancy what, like blood glucose, blood pressure. And at some point, they have to check the chloresterol level also? And that you are pregnant now, really not much you can do if one of these tests fall out of range, cos not all drugs are safe for preggie.

Thought should go for health screening 6 or 12 months after you give birth, when your health state goes back to the "normal" stage.

Just my own opinion.

was in foul mood la...failed my stupid driving test for the 2nd time...all was well in the circuit bt during the parallel parking 'suddenly' 4get 'everything'. The mind went 'blank'. can imagine i reverse in and out of the lot 10times??!!!!!????? (immediately failure coz past timing)haizz...

was in dilemma, dunno wanna wait til after confinement then go for the 3rd attempt or give another shot b4 delivery.

well...going for my 3rd in aug at 34wks+ into pregnancy...actually my instructor and friends are worried for me. bt i really can't imagine myself taking my driving lessons and test while leaving 3 children and 1 baby under hubby's care lor...dunno if he can cope with bb or nt....

AND...hao shi cheng shuang, huo bu dan xing..was diagnosed with gestational diabetes 2day. KNS...futhermore dunno why gt GD, bb still on small side...28wks+ at 1kg nia...tot shld be bigger if mother gt GD???? bt bb's wt stil in acceptable range lor bt at the lower percentile (10%). at 24wks still at the median percentile of 50%...

me pimples on back and back of neck...nose expanding also i think...as at 2day 48.3kg...
 
oh...btw got my flu jab 2day also. was asking my gynae abt the risk of expecting moms if kenna swine flu...

reply no known effect of swine flu yet on expecting moms but if expecting moms and children kenna, more vulnerable lor...the risk is greater...so he suggest the flu jab which although may not prevent us totally of getting the flu bt at least will protect and minimise the catching of the virus...

AND it is safe to haf the jab during pregnancy...

2day my bill inclusive of delivery downpayment, flu jab, stretch marks cream and vitamins is S$1447.89...pocket bleeding...:p

bohbian leh...coz when i took up my driving, i wasn't pregnant yet. halfway then pregnant bt i don't feel like giving up lor...juz for info, i gave up once 10yrs ago when i was pregnant with my eldest gal...i dun wanna give up the 2nd time lor...

bt hor..a bit regret taking the 3rd attempt coz nw realized tummy big liao, a bit uncomfy nowadays...feel like humpty dumpty and the braxton hicks contractions sometimes makes me feel breathless....

and thanks...will give my best shot. bt 'if' F**L again, gotta wait till after confinement le...bt will nt give up. die die muz pass...otherwise waste hubby's money and own effort...

and for the GD, muz 'lun' lor, control diet a bit...cannot take too much sweet stuffs le...jialut, i've gt sweet tooth leh for this pregnancy...luvs chocolate and ice-cream like crazy...

I also seeing him at his CCK clinic. When I visited the clinic last week, the nurse or gynac never mentioned to me at all. My next visit is mid next month which I will be 7mth plus liao. I did ask gynac when should choose the hosp and he said anytime also can.

my fren/ colleague advised to let bb have breast milk directly on nipple rather than thru milk bottle.. they will get used to the taste of the rubber milk bottle teats then dun wan to latch on nipple le.. hmmm "headache"

try to do some "stretching"/ hand massage when u can. Like opening ur palms wide stretchy open then close it tight into fist a few times; ask ur hubby to massage ur palm by pressing the palm area rubbing outwards; squeeze/ press flat and sides each indivi finger from inner to tips..
learn from mrs wong class.. hope i describe correctly..

jiayou! becareful of ur tummy since u be sitting in driver's seat with the steering wheel at ur tummy area.

sweet stuff: try to narrow down to 2 to 3 times a sweet treat a week la.. lessen the qty u eat too. I'm loving the sweet stuff more than ever now but i try not to fatten myself n bb too much :p

oh which day u went? I was there on tues morning (unscheduled visit) due to the sudden backaches i had. during collecting the med, the assistant told me abt the price increment lo. my next visit will be 6 jul le.. which i will be "average 31wks"..

i registered my bb for infantcare just 10 days ago, paid $70 registration fee + $1.2k deposit. If withdraw now, the centre will only refund 50% deposit .. lugi $600

i dont recall that we can make reservations for soup spoon. But the outlet at Raffles place is very small leh. Not very big. It's not a shop by itself but more like "stall" somewhere at the basement. Not sure if it can accomodate so many of u.

It's not very fair to split shipping according to cost of items because we pay the forwarder BY WEIGHT and not by price lor.

How i intend to weigh and split costs, FOR EXAMPLE:
You order 5 items, I'll just weigh all your 5 items together. If your total weight is 1kg, and we paid $50 shipping for 10kg, then you pay shipping $5 lah.

Not say I am going to weigh EACH item one by one lor. So its very straightforward and a lot more fair than splitting by price. Because some small items can be more expensive than bigger items.

This is the way I'd prefer to do it, in terms of fairness and clarity. Most spree orgs will split shipping by weight also.

breastpump (Medela PIS vs Ameda Lactaline)
Heard good reviews on both pumps.
i ordered Ameda Lactaline for myself cos the PIS is rather expensive.
My fren used Ameda Lactaline, and she always urged me to get the Medela PIS instead cos her Lactaline has died on her after a few mths and she has to change the parts quite frequently.
on the contrary, i also know someone who hv used the Ameda Lactaline for more than 3 yrs and it's still working.
i think ultimately, it probably also depends on how u wash the parts and take care of it.
if u don't want to spend too much on breastpump and only want to bf 6 mths, u can consider buying from TMC parentcraft, then sell back to them 6 mths later for 50% of the price. do check with them if this is still available.

Pardon me if I'm wrong. I'm no lawyer, but just read the rules on the MOM website.

The issue of compensation here is with regards to a worker having been unjustly terminated due to her having to take maternity leave. The confinement that they are referring to is the 'Maternity Leave period' of 4 mths.

The first statement states that it is an offence to terminate a worker during the leave period. The second and third paras refer to periods during which should a worker be terminated, the compensation packages that are due to the worker.

Cutedevil, my advise would be for you to speak to your boss about the reasons on the grounds of termination. Seek legal help at the Legal Aid Bureau, or make a walk in appt at MOM to discuss the case.

I hope that it'll work out well for you.

I inititally thought there's only 15% discount. I bought the $175 latex mattress for $140 including delivery to my place. Maybe you wanna check with them if they still have this offer? Then you don't have to borrow the KP card and carry the mattress back home yourself..

Note that you are covered if your child is a citizen of Singapore at birth. Pregnant employess are already covered by Employment Act when they are 3mths pregnant. Last time is 7mths pregnant.
