michelle,

yeah, i was also wondering if should wait n see if got another taka fair. hoping that it may be closer to my due date. didn't wanna waste the warranty on the things i bot mah. but my hb said dun wait till last min, because gonna be due in like 3 mths, he said later too big i also no mood or energy to shop. so thats why we juz got everything we needed ytd.

mummies who bot avent stuff, do u send in your warranty immediately?

michelle...

Icic.. My next gynae appt at ard 26 weeks is this coming monday. Cant wait.. but I can imagine bb's weight increasing.. My weight have increased like 2 kgs since the last check up. oops!

I got this sms msg from DBS abt the sale at BHG Bugis. Eh.. u MBR bride also right? not married yet meh? y pick up gown? sorry if i ask too much...

I bought the Gelite stroller.. not as heavy as the peg perego one. easy to fold n set up.. very happy with the purchase...

-My Brestfriend Pastel GReen Deluxe Version-$40
-Lucky Baby Changing Table cum bath$50
-Breastfeeding Shawl Green$40

ling,

ehh... i asking u all, u asking me?? but i think by right should be sent out immediately rite? the warranty would be backed up by the purchase receipt date mah. i think cannot 'run' one.

Aurgh! This is a silly fair! 4 booths for insurance, and 3 booths for slimming. Think the fair was worse than the one in Feb/March. So dissapointed!

Was hoping to take a look at the Combi and Capella then compare before bringing my wife tonight. Looks like no need to carry a 10kg bagpack to test out.

Regarding the Medela stuff and AVENTs, no real push factor to buy. Freestyle was at $914, whilst I got mine at taka at $805, and with more freebies.

Alas, agreed to bring a friend later. Sigh...

gerald,

was there combi at the fair? can help me see the combi car seat how much if they have it there? i might have missed it ytd. thx!

gerald,
wow...freestyle from taka @ $805...very tempting leh..
but too bad i not member and my hb too lazy to go orchard area...

Hi cloudme,

If i remember correctly, there is only 1 model at Pinku booth. I tint it's $238 or $283. Sorry dont remember the actual price but i dont think you will like it cos the cushion is in pink and ivory color. The frame is in metalic pink too.

berrypie

Yeah! I saw the pink/grey COMBI stroller at the Puku booth (near the stage area). So prettyyyyy!!!! If i having girl I sure buy! Can change to rear-facing some more...

Hi Shelled,

To be honest, i dont like it even i having a girl...errh.. too striking. I prefer Capella S705. CK Tang is having 15-20% sale for Capell but this model no sale leh..

hi Berrypie

What's the reason for the pref for the Capella S705 over the Combi Miracle Turn? Was hoping to see the Capella range at the fair, so kinda dissappointed.

kiki> keke. hubby say it's ok. he can juz pick it up from nearby ntuc or de baby shop alone if i too tired to walk.

warranty. gees. i olways nv send out warranty. wait for the item spoil, den i juz go repair n pretend i oredi send out warranty =x

ling> keke. how come ur appt at 26wk? yup. i'm from mbr too. married le la. the gown is to wear to brother's wedding this sun =x nv see the gelite stroller. glad u like it though. i've oredi settle for the capella one.

berrypie> ya. capella s705 is a popular model. so olways no sale. de last time i saw it on sale was 10% at OG. dat's the most i ever see.

gerald> heard the changing space for capella s705 is big. haha. n it's easy to open n close. one hand can settle. combi is known to be light, but too easily overturn, abit dangerous. so decided to go for capella.

gerald,

BP is batch/bulk purchase..like spree like that.
CB is California Baby, its a Baby product range, mummies here sometimes do sprees on it, it would be cheaper then buying locally.

Hi Gerald,

To me, Capella is one time and one hand handling and it will opens up easily for me without much strength or effort. I dont know abt Combi Miracle turn but i try the one at expo, i have to try 2-3x to open up.

Personally, i find Capella is much easy to handle while i carrying my bb. Capella S228 is hving 20% less. Retail at $289 and its light weight too. You have to test it yourself.

michelle...

em.. i duno.. I was 21weeks plus or 22weeks during my last appt on 8th May. Hence, this time round should be somewhere in my 26th week lo.

haha.. ya lo.. i remembered u got married le.. earlier than rach also.. but i got puzzled by u saying u collectin ur gown.. haha.. pardon me.. heez.. Congrats to ur bro..
happy.gif

You are right Michelle. I saw quite a few people using Capella S705 at expo..very tempted to buy..still hv time.

Hopefully, the prize will go down...

mummies & daddies,

when buying prams that can be rear facing (meaning can turn to face u), do take note of one thing that is usually not mentioned by the sales people. some prams when changed to rear facing, the front 2 wheels becomes not 360 degrees turn). this can make maneuvering difficult especially in narrow places.

hi.. happy wkend to all..

was very unlucky on my way to work today.. met an accident.. was a bit late so took a cab to work instead.. upon reaching entrance of AYE.. being crashed into the trunk by another cab from behind.. the whole trunk compartmt is gone... i'm very shaken n shocked.. giddy and headache... still shaken now though i'm home already, after all the chk ups to ensure bb and me are fine
the cab i'm in bumped into the cab in front with a lady passenger abt 6-7 wks preggy too.. hope she is fine as she went to NUH with me in the same ambulance...
very bad experience for me.... =(

Thk God bb is fine... but still need to monitor him...

reading the forum now makes me take the accident of my mind. lotsa post today...

Thanks mama to 6js rgd the baby monitor =)

Jess
Take care and all the best. Rest well.

Berrypie
What's the diff between Capella S228 and the S705?
Am I right to say that all 4 wheels are rotatable?
Am clueless about Capella as have been looking at Combi all this while.

jess,
you mean three cabs collided at the same time, and then an ambulance came to ferry you and the lady to hospital? woah that's very scary. glad you and bb are alright now. have a good rest over the weekend to calm your nerves.

Jess,

Thank God you n bb are alright. Hv a good rest. i always keep me and bb in prayer.
I had escaped fm a nasty fall abt 3 weeks ago. My home fish tank starting to leak and the whole living floor was wet. In the morning, lucky i saw my dogs slipped and fall..if not i will be the one and my hb was not home that day. It's took me 1 hr plus to clear the hall.

thank u for all the well wishes!
i hope i can get over it soon...

sandwich.. yea lo.. 3 cabs collision.. so suay im in the middle one.. cab more damage... very bad experience..
cab drivers were very nice to get us ambulance quick and sent us both to hosp asap.

yes berrypie.. thank God for his protection.. =)

Gerald,

Capella S705 is slightly more bulk. S228 is same compact size and hv the same reserve handle system like combi using 2 hand wherelse S705 is single handed reverse handle and the basket is bigger and the adjustable seat is oso different.

I saw this 2 model at CK Tang. Perhaps, you just go there to take alook. I not sure which other malls are sell capella brand

kiki
The Cocorro wasn't there. But i'm eyeing that too! So nice yar!

By the way, anyone heard about Bumwear? Thinking it's really good loooking but not sure bout comfort for baby.

Gerald

Bumwear is FANTASTIC! A lot of mommies rave about it as well. It's easy to wash, super soft and comfy for baby. Only downside is the price. But it's totally reusable, and can even pass on to subsequent children, just have to focus on that point.

berrypie

No lah, where got Pigeon BB wipes 10 packs for $19.50. That's for 6 packs only.

michelle

I saw from the Aug thread that u can just call the lady Juliet at 98004598 & quote Jul/Aug/Sep Thread. Then as long as she has min 5 orders, u can get the free glass bottle too. Just need to transefr $$ to her, no need to go down.

jess

jess: wow.. tk god u're fine.. chain collision somemore..

Alright ladies. COntinue the great posts. Hopefully I can catch up when I log in from time to time.

Best regards to all and the babies!

ling: btw, saw ur post abt carseats.. i tink better to get 1 first coz newborns r so fragile, they might get "injured" if e car breaks suddenly/hard.. so better to put n car seat la..

Good morning everyone!

Motherhood Fair
I'd like to share that I find my trip there very fruitful last evening. Here are some of the booths which I went to :

1. Motherhood magazine
Fill in their lucky draw form & you get the June issue free. They will try marketing their magazine to you, to get you to subscribe to the mag for 1-yr ($50), 2-yrs ($88) or 3-yrs ($108). If you're interested in the mag, I find the 3-yr sign-up most worth it and they throw in lotsa free gifts too. But I decided not to sign up in the end, scared too busy and end up not reading, heh.

2. Huggies
Just sign up to be in the Huggies club, they provide you with a useful envirobag so you can walk round the expo and just dump in all your leaflets there. Of course, Huggies will update you when they have future promos.

Buy 2 packs of Huggies diapers, get a free bodysuit from Mothercare.

3. Nestle
Sign up for Nestle club membership & indicate your EDD. When your baby is 6 mths old, Nestle will email you for a gift collection. I think their gift consists of a Nestle insulated bag for keeping milk bottles on-the-go, and a tin of their formula milk and maybe even a can of their baby puree food if I'm not wrong.

4. Mums & Babes
The Medela booth is within this booth. They are selling Pump-In-Style Advanced for $709. They have lotsa helpers there to explain the advantages of their pumps and the features, etc so ask as much questions as you like.

5. MumsFairy (www.mumsfairy.com)
They distribute Medela & Ameda breast pumps. Medela Pump-In-Style bundle deal selling at $699.
Ameda Lactaline on its own is at $338, but the bundle deal is at $399. What you get in addition are:
- handsfree strap for handsfree breast-pumping. The lady Juliet of MumsFairy told me that she can take a short nap while her Ameda breastpump is busy pumping for her. She has used her Ameda for 3 yrs+ (still using) to feed her 2 kids.
- a pair of breast flanges which are angled so that you can sit back & relax while the breastpump is pumping. Without these, mummies may have to bend forward while breastpump is pumping so that the milk can flow down easily. These angled breast flanges attach nicely to the Ameda or Medela breast flange. (Hard for me to explain, maybe you can have a look at their website to see how this looks like : http://www.mumsfairy.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=31 )
- A purple gauze bag for you to store your breast pumps after washing it in the office. Useful for mummies who wish to express milk in the office after returning back to work. You put your pump parts in the gauze bag to air dry thoroughly instead of putting it moistly in a container to dry.
- 2 glass bottles, I think the 4oz kind.

Motherhood Fair continued...

6. Eu Yan Sang
Their Bird's Nest with Rock Sugar goes for $31.50, normal price $48.50. The one with reduced Rock Sugar goes for $37.50. Each box consists of 6 bottles of Bird's Nest.

Alot of offers, but I only focussed on their Bird's Nest products ;P

7. New Life Family Chiropractic Pte Ltd
You can have a free spinal analysis done here. After they scan the spine using their computer device, it churns out a report on the amt of tension each part of your spine is put through. Right from neck til tailbone, computer can calculate the tension along various parts of your spine.
Thereafter from the report, you can chat with their chiropractor/doctor on standby (all free) and she will explain to you about the report findings.

If you want, pay a $30 fee and make an appt to get a full spinal analysis report done. For this appt you will have to go to their office at Parkway Parade 21st floor office on your appt date. With the report, you can see the chiropractors who will arrange therapy sessions for them to align back your spine.

If you sign up for this $30, any of your family members can sign up for $20 in future to have the full analysis report done.

8. Cheerful Mama
Sells nursing bras for $8 but I didn't buy, lazy to try on.

9. Nepia diapers
Also has a booth, you can sign up for their club membership. I just took their brochure.

ling> keke.

berrypie> de price wun go down this yr soon. cos too popular. unless u wait for 2010 model to come out. than 2009 model will drop price.

kiki, jess> capella s705 whells still 360 degrees turn even in rear facing mode.

gerald> de padding for s705 is more comfy, sitting space oso bigger. so as ur child gets bigger, it's still quite comfortable.

n s228 is 2 fold open n close. so need 2hands.

whitey> de ameda promo sounds good.
