Hi,

Anyone compare the hospital bill before decide which one to go?

My first one is TMC but now more and more negative comment on them on net. Many find Mount A nurse more friendly and cheaper than TMC. Based on 2 bedded.

What is your view?

hi haystack,

i am also paying $1900 for the confinement lady. She didnt mention abt the ang pow thing...

I got her contact from this forum as well..she is Aunt Lian. Hopefully she is good.

RE: MASSAGE

I hope all of you mommies who have booked the massage will enjoy the experience! Remember to let her know if you have a particular area that needs extra attention.

Hi mummies,

Anyone sign up for stemcord or cordlife? Both seem similar to me and i have no idea how much each is going to cost. Any idea? Which did you go for? TIA

Hi Dizi and haystack,
I signed up for stemcord as this is based in Singapore. First time registration is S$1280 inclusive of 1 year storage and it is S$250 per renewal storage year. If u refer a friend, both of u will get S$50.00 on ur second storage year. You might want to check with them if ur gynae is on their 'list' cos mine was, therefore my first time registration is only S$850.00 instead. Also, Stemcord can use baby bonus and pay, therefore there is no upfront payment when u register.
I am not sure abt cordlife though

nv check it out at all.

Hi hi mummies finally finsh one exam....

Now can relax abit and prepare the next paper wahahahahah Hope can pass..

Re: sling
This is not urgent to get take ur time to choose and see see and touch .. coz within the first month u will not bring bb out as bb to tiny and fragile... so on the 2nd mth maybe then consider putting bb onto the sling as by then bb is more "harder" that what i think .. i get my sling very late suppose around 3rd mth or so... by then much easier..

Haystack - how cheap would the pump be i interested can tell me more??

hi haystack - i wanna find out the Medela PIS buti wanna compare the price with the offer price outside and the bundles(freebies) see which is better... if u got more details let me know!!

RE: MASSAGE

Hope all you mommies who booked with Ivy will enjoy the massage! Remember to let her know if you have any particular area you need extra attention on. I told her about my back and hips, and she did pay special care to it.

mummies,

im these days so bz, hardly have chance to come in & oso cant catch up with the posts :p

would like to check, did any mummies experience tummy ache ah, like wana to pang but dun have the pang, jus the wana pang feeling,

its disturbing me few nites & days lioa. so torturing, kinda of worried...

isit some sort of contraction?

i do not have bleed or anything, jus very tummy aching...

flower4
do take note it could be braxton hicks.. or might be tummy is expanding that cause the ache..u can start noting the time and the frequency of the pain....
which ever the case would be if really feel discomfort do consult ur doc....

One possibilities is that when veri busy tend to hold the tummy tight but when relax let go of the tummy which would be muscle pai..

kiddo,

thanks for the advise, my is constantly feeling wana pang tat kind of pain, whether stress or bz or relax leh.

braxt hicks? isit dangerous?

flower4

Braxton Hicks are harmless "practice" contractions. Read more about it here: http://www.babycenter.com/0_braxton-hicks-contractions_156.bc

Personally I have experience very strong lower abdomen pain/cramping in the last few weeks. Have the shitting feeling, so usually I go and try and nothing comes out lah.

But after a while of tahan-ing the pain/cramps, I give up and just go sit on the toiletbowl until the pain passes. Usually after waiting about 10-15 minutes, will actually have something lor. Then once I'm done, the pain/cramps is gone!

I was told that it could be caused by full bowel + braxton hicks, therefore a lot of pressure that causes the pain/cramps. Once you manage to poop, you somewhat "clear space" and so won't hurt anymore.

Same as what kiddo said, if in doubt, consult your gynae.

kiddo,
you're working and studying part-time? aiyoh, i can feel very tired for you since i did the same thing for my first pregnancy. luckily the assignments/exam schedules were good for me, and i managed to finish the entire course shortly after i gave birth. i still remembered that i handed in my last written assignment a week after i gave birth (while bb was hospitalized for jaundice, i shuttled between the hospital and the library and my home to finish the paper). and then i sat for my last exam about two weeks after i gave birth (had to get my mum to bbsit then). didn't have a chance to attend my convocation though. when's your course going to end?

Hi ladies!

My gynae is also WK Tan.

Would like to join in the thread

Princess Updates> went to the gynae today... i tot its 25 weeks.. but gynae says its 26th!
I've put on 6kg so far.. my weight just went up in the past week!! From 77-83kg now...
So i hope to not go up too fast in the next 3 months...
happy.gif

Bb is of average size... 916g... gynae says usual range is 600g-1kg... looks like mine is pretty on the high side..
hehehe...

she was facing down..so all we could see was her skull... no matter how the gynae scan...its still the round round head..
so the head circumference was measured...
happy.gif

Chern> wah.. u know of Ivy even before preggy ah??? i lao nua liao la... hahaha....
well... gynae push all the blame to the fact that bb is too close to the mummy...so they also inexperienced....
so didnt say anything also...
My fren says such injury actually is common leh...

So this time round u really gg for c-sect ah??? dun wanna try natural????

Ur bb's gender confirmed confirmed liaoz???

Wifey> yah...she said she will call to ask how i am doing along the way...now also nothing heard from her yet...
but i wont be calling her...coz if she dont call back.. i'll prob look for someone else...and if worse to worse....
dun wan CL...coz now...finance also a bit tight... called to book her is by faith one...
dun have the $$ on hand also... if she's not meant to be, let it be.....
I'm not that concerned...worse to worse... my mum will do for me....

sandwich.. if i'm pass smoothly it should be end by last exam in next yr Jan 10! Actually studying i find pleasure and relaxing coz the work is driving me crazy...
Work = stress, tired, mentally draining
Study = physical tired, mentally fullfilling
I had been in this part time course since my first pregnancy but this time round worst as too many issues......

flower4 - not to worry coz if real contraction u be in that pain till u can't even move!! But still if it dosen't happen too often and freq do seek ur doc asap!!

Re: Natural birth
Strongly encourage mummies to tahan the pain without epidural.. if u can go through that process nothing in this world can hit u anymore!!
The best part is u will forget abt the pain very fast!! regardless u suffer for how many hours...

Morning everyone,

Yesterday I called Stemcord and Cordlife for more information. It seems like Stemcord is cheaper as my gynae has tied up with them. So got promotion

PhuangThong,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Stemcord. Now have a rough idea on the charges. Seems that the registration fee is quite exp and i doubt my gynae is in any of the list for promo.

rach

Just remember, I put on 20kg with my #1!! I don't think anyone of you here can gain as much weight as I did lor!
lol.gif
I didn't manage to lose everything, cos I was still 5kg heavier by the time I got preg with #2. But then again... I never really put in much effort to lose weight also.
biggrin.gif

i dunno if it's psychological, but i played the wombsongs a lot to #1 when he was in utero, and i felt that he responded to some songs more so than others (more movements inside my tummy). played the same songs to him when he was between 0-2months old too. then i forgot all about these songs till now that i'm housekeeping my computer, haha!
