(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

Hi kiki,
I quickly wash off my nail poslish when I know I bfp... my mum say me off as she says the smell very strong... not sure whether good for baby or not... u mean the nail poslish remover is no good, is it?? After I wash off, i dare not do any pedicure liao...

Katherine

Oic. My spotting lasted 2 days. After the jab & pills it stopped. Cross fingers cross toes that everything's ok.

hehe so mine is def more jia lat than yours lo..
happy.gif
but glad that it stopped for both of us..

i m urs
how r u feeling now? still spotting? i know how worrying it must have felt. try not to focus on what u see and feel ok. as what JUL mentioned, send good vibes to the baby. keep ur movements minimised. when is ur next visit to gynae?

I read somewhere to try to keep your legs up, i.e. when you are sitting down, try to raise your legs using a footstool. Dunno whether that will help.

joanne,

from what i understand, its both the nail polish remover as well as the nail polish. they're afterall 'chemicals'. but if you did it once only i think it should be ok.. not to worry too much.

new mtb,

i think the keeping your legs up dun have to do now as now we're all in 1st trimester so its considered early? i think thats for the later stages....ehhh... something to do with water retention, keeping the legs up helps with the swelling of the legs and feet. so try to keep the legs elevated when you sit long hrs or lie down.

Hi Katherine,
I had spotting on the 1st day of CNY. 2nd day still have spotting so went to see my gynae yesterday. Was given a jab and pills. Told not to go to work and rest in bed for 7 days. Need to go for another jab next tues. How r u feeling now? still got spotting?

oh dear.. was your spotting very serious? 7 days bed rest sounds very serious.. Your spotting stopped after the jabs and pills? Now i'm getting worried.. but my spotting has stopped since yesterday.. so I shld be fine right?

I was so scared when i saw blood. So worried that i cried. Worse still, my gynae told me baby too small to see whether ok. Now have to be good and stay at hm bed rest.

yes yes i cant stand the smell of polish remover. i think v v harmful for preg cos the alcohol smell is so strong thats why i always do pedicure, never like to do it myself.

JUL
nvm lah, big or small, we sure can satisfy our baby hunger irregardless of size. if thats any consolation to us. haha

i think nursing are those that has a opening.. u can open the tip of the bra.. to let ur bb latch on..
happy.gif

my bras are still doing fine leh.. u are all well endowed man.. hehehhe.. :p

bryest

Dun panick. When I saw my blood, I also went,"tuh tuh tuh tuh..."

mamato5Js

I am not even ashamed to say that I am not even thinking abt satisfying the BB lor. I am only vain! hahaha

bryest,

was it fresh red bloody spotting? my gynae said spotting got 2 kinds, the common type is dark brownish look like dried blood spotting is normal. but if its fresh red then you should be alarmed.

How serious is ur spotting? mine is blood in my discharge when i wipe. Heard from my friend that her blood soaks the pad. Now monitoring lor, didn't really dare to move. U might wanna call ur gynae and check. Who's ur gynae?

the only time i had spotting is the time i had miscarriage 5 yrs ago. but that spotting is different, i had blood clots as well which gynae said not good. if its normal spotting most of the time its ok and yes, spotting is apparently quite common.

Hi Katherine,

Actually, I tried for normal delivery but my cervix only dilate for 1cm after 12 hrs in labour. As my waterbag has leaked, Dr Ang advised to go for emergency c-sect as he said the baby might be at risk and I might be too tired to push if I still opt for normal delivery, i.e if my cervic will dilate further, he gave me some time to think but after checking that my cervix dilation still have not improved, still 1cm.. argghh, he said he will have to go and deliver via c-sect. I've asked him last week when I visited him for my 1st check-up and he said I could try for normal delivery if I want to.
happy.gif
I'm hoping that I could.
How abt you? You have an elective or emegency c-sect?

mine is fresh red blood. My gynae told me it's either hormonal imbalance or baby abnormal, body can't accept. It's worrying. Sigh

During my m/c, I got fresh red blood.

This time, cannot really tell, it was pink, prob bcoz mixed up with hubby's "ahem". So I think it shd be red too?

My gynae also said to watch out for severe cramps, & heavy bleeding like menses.

yeh, my gynae told me if it's like menses, then should see her immediately.

Katherine,
don't worry too much. if u wanna peace of mind, just call ur gynae tomolo and check with her. Meanwhile, just monitor 1st.

oh okie.. mine was dark brown.. onli managed to soak up a panty liner.. no cramps.. no blood cots so shld be okie ba? My 1st one I had spotting too till I thought it's my mens and I totally ignore till the 3rd month when no stain then i realised I was pregnant!

hi xpu.. so u felt contractions/ water bag burst so you went down to the hospital to prepare for delivery?

Mine was an emergency c-sec too

i think jul04's gynae is dr joycelyn wong.

can i ask why u didn't continue to see dr ooi (you mean dr ooi kh fr mt E rite?)? and then you change to dr tham. which dr tham is this?

kiki...
my 1st gynae was dr oei pauling, from gleneagles... saw her once... not my kind of gynae... she was nice and confident and loud...
dr benjamin tham from kkh...

hi xpu and katherine,
I too hv emergency c section 4 1st kid. Wonder can i try natural birth or shd i go straight to c section as very expensive to go into emergency c. That time bec my pelvic bone did not open big enough so baby head cannot go thru. Not sure how this time.. Sigh..
Hi i am urs,
I am oso thinking to goto tmc as gleaneagles is too far away fr my hm. But not sure shd i goto jocelyn or wk tan? I need someone who is gd in c section and natural birth stiching.. Heard that wktan is panglingling and some actress gynea..
Anyone got any idea who is gd?

kiki...
hee... sorry typo error...
i m turning 25 this yr...
by calculation of lmp sld b wk 7... no sign of baby/heartbeat... so took a bld test... going back on fri for another bld test...

im urs,

oh wah, you're very young!

did your gynae do V scan and still can't detect the heartbeat? do you mean cannot see any sac at all?

your menses cycle very long type?

Hi Joanne

me worry emergency C-sec very exp too.. somemore nw i change to gleneagle.. saw in another thread.. emergency c-sec at gleneagle cost $10K! haiz.. and gynae also adv go for c-sec straight.. will see hw again ba.. mayb if baby not too big might try for natural.. if not maybe will just go for c-sec
sad.gif

I_am_urs, u are young too... hahaha,.

Ladies, i was catching up and looks like many went for emergency C-sec. but there is something that i dont quite get it. under what kinda circumstances than your gynae will urge u for C-sec over normal delivery? i am starting to get very worried now.

HuiChern, happy that your 1st gynae visit turn out well..

btw, ladies, just curious to find out, how many of you went to the gynae alone??? my hubby gonna be working for my next gynae visit so i gonna be alone, but guess i am still quite fine with it.. during my recent visit, hubby was waiting outside instead of following me in and the gynae was the one who initial for him to join me. total embrasment for me..

im urs,

did you mention to gynae regarding your cycle length? i learned this from my gynae by informing him regarding my cycle length.

your cycle if 35-42 is considered longer than normal. like mine, is 32-37 days so also considered long. so, if you compare to someone who has 28 day cycle, this person will conceive earlier then you even though if you both have LMP on the same day.

so lets say you now count you're 7wks fr lmp, you could actually in fact be 5-6wks instead. most docs use lmp as a gauge of how many wks, but for ladies who have very long cycle or erratic cycle, this way to gauge how far along you are becomes inaccurate. and if you're still very early, hcg levels will be low.

anyway, i'm not doctor of coz. kekeke... i'm juz sharing with you what i read and also what i learn when talking to the doc.
happy.gif

hope i didn't confuse you. hee..

yup kiki...
i understand... my 1st gynae told me that...
i cant comment on my cycle too, coz i only stopped my pills in last sep... after that my cycle was not v accurate...
cant comment on anything till my bld test result is out...

hi lawshe,
Usually my hubby will follow me as he will want to see baby progress too. But for ur case if hubby cannot make it due to oversea trip, its ok 4 u to go alone.as long as u get to see ur baby ,know that baby is ok is most impt lor..
Hi byrest,
Oh ur gynea is wk tan, is she good in stiching? Do u hv any experience with her b4 that? Is she very expensive? Thks 4 the link, will read thru.. Last question, why u goto her?is it bec many pp had recomend her to u?
Thk u..
Hi ladies,
Anyone seeing jocelyn wong here?care to share ur experience?
Thk u very much..

lawshe,

think normally emergency c-sec will be done if the baby cannot 'engage' or you never dilate big enough, or if your water bag has burst too many hours ago. this is what i gather from my friends experiences.

i think its good if your hb can always go with you, but its not a must i guess. normally docs will always prefer that hb is there, so that he does not need to repeat again and normally 2 person listening can understand better.

my hb more kancheong then me. when i doing v scan the doc draw the curtains and my hb barge in himself :p luckily the doc didn't seem pissed off. my hb also ask ask ask so many questions. i'm glad my gynae was quite patient and answered very clearly whatever questions my hb had.
