(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

Lawshe... since your hb is with u, why not go in with u? can listen to gynae's advise together

kiki... maternity bra u can open the cover for nursing. i've been wearing since last pregnancy till now. my hb same as yours, has longer list of questions than i do keke

anyone here heard of Dr Kowa from Mt E?
Also, i had spotting earlier on and my GP advised me to go see a gynae last week.. when to MT E n walked in to a gynae..

he mentioned my womb is "backwards" but when i asked if it's normal.. he juz told me "u're born like tat".. does it mean there's no complications?

tks tks

i m urs

i quite agree with what kiki said. ur cycle is quite long actually cos most preg is calculated using a 28 day cycle in the initial stage. my cycle has been erractic too ever since the birth of my gal. every mth sure late by at least 5 days. 7-10 days is v normal. so my cycle can vary from 35-45 days. ppl like us tend to ovulate later so maybe give another 1-2 wks leeway in our cases? of course i think gynae's professional judgement is still the most impt. as i said, we are all rooting for u

my frd's gynae is dr kowa. but i didnt ask her whether he is good or not but i think he also quite popular right?

i also have backwards womb, i think there is a term for it. but so far not giving me any problem leh.

Joanne, Dr. Joycelyn Wong was my gynea for #1. I will be going to her again for my #2. Why her? Firstly, she is pro-natural san epidural. Veryn encouraging. Very assuring. I would say good stitiching skills cos I could walk around 4 hours after delivery without feeling much pain. Loves babies and most importantly, I feel comfortable with her. Just that, I have heard that waiting time for her is getting rather long. She has become quite popular in the recent years. In fact, I recommended 3 friends to her and they all like her.

Morning!

i m urs

My gynae isn't Dr Joycelyn Wong, it's Dr Caroline Khi, one of her partners in the clinic.

Oh btw I think it's most likely that u're not 7 weeks. I have a cycle of about 32 days, & my EDD is actually one week later than it's supposed to be by LMP. But that's bcoz I knew when I ovulated, & the doc cfm-ed by measuring the size of the BB by V scan.

lawshe

So far my hubby aws accompanies me. But more of I ask him to be there to listen to the doctor, so that I dun have to go home & repeat eveerything to him.

kiki

Heehee I m the one asking questions whereas hubby just sits there & stones. Sometimes I wonder if he absorbs anything that the gynae says.

Cho

Welcome

I think the term is retroverted womb or something like that. Means it's inverted backwards.

hui chern, you are in which week? you see your bb's heartbeat? congrats
happy.gif
do you have any symptoms before your gynae detect your bb's heart beat?

hi babiesseme,
Has ur ms started? I still the same.. No vomiting.. Only get hungry and tired easily.. When u seeing ur doctor? Mus update us k..
Hi lilac,
Thk u 4 ur feedback.. Whts ur package price with her when u sign up that time?does she got any temper? Heard that wktan is quite old already, how abt her?
Last question, hv u heard any of ur friend mention is she gd in stiching in c section too? Thk u very very much 4 ur valuable feedback..
Hi ladies,
I ever see dr chong li cheng fr tmc b4 too.. Think he is quite gd too but not sure abt stiching skill for natural and c section as i only see him for usual woman checkup..

joanne
i have tried being stitched up by 2 gynaes. my previous gynaes for 4 of my kids was dr Koh LS from east shore. he is a v v nice gynae but is old and has retired. but after i tried dr chan, i was like WOW!!! i didnt even feel anything after delivery. i even forgot i just gave birth and jumped on my bed in the ward. his skills is really good. my previous stitches were all too tight and can get quite painful. i heard of dr chan's stitching (he calls it embroidery) skills from friends but only after i experienced i know its really good! super! my frds told me his c sectionj sticthing is even better and beautiful

mamato5J

Haha I hope I remembered the term correctly. Coz that time my fren was telling me she has mah. I was, like, got such thing one meh?

Tell u something even more astonishing. My hubby's fren said her aunt has 2 uteruses! Now that's amazing!

Hi joanne,
A lot of my friends are under wk tan. She's very experienced and i heard her stitches very good. Not sure whether she's retiring. Will ask her the next time i see her.

Hi mamato5Js,
Is ur gynae dr chan kong hon from gleneagles?

Hi joanne, I stil the same - no vomiting and no morning sickness but every morning without fail I did "big business". After which I very hungry then I very tired i think I suffer fatigue, think cos I told 6 progestone pills a day haha..I going to gynae tomorrow hope to see bb's heartbeat !

hi, i am urs.

I know how you feel... but you must calm down okie? There's nothing much you can do anyway, so try not to think too much. Try keeping yourself occupied in the meantime, it helps.

gladys

Week 7 shd be able to see. If u cannot see by tummy scan, by V scan sure can see. I saw my BB's heartbeat via V scan on week5 day6.

im urs,

yeah... you must cheer up. like what freesia said, nothing u can do but wait till monday. rest more, eat good food and happy thoughts ok.
happy.gif

gladystey,

wk 6 should be able to see the heartbeat. i know of friends who only go to gynae on wk 8-10, so i think wk7 is still ok its not too late. but of coz up to individual... like me, i very ks, wk 5 i go already :p you start to take folic already?

mama to 5 Js,

when you say stitches, do you mean natural birth stitching or c-sec stitching? all your kiddos is via natural birth?

Hi kiki,

Ur week 6 is from ur last menstrual date or baby conceived date? i went to see gynae cos of my spotting on week 5 day 2 but still can't see heartbeat. Only saw a pea when gynae did the V scan. Is it normal?

Hi mummies,

mia for a while coz busy during CNY. Plus I had spotting last Tue and doc put me on MC till tomorrow and wants me to rest as much as I can.

Hi Jenifur,

can you update my details:

Nick: Mamijoan
Hospital: Gleneagles
EDD: 7 Sep 2009
Gynae: Dr Ang Huai Yan
Pregnancy: #2

Hi Jul, Kat,

I think spotting is quite common. If it is brown and goes off within a few days, it should be alright. Fresh blood accompanied with cramps will be a bad sign. I had spotting very early on in my first pregnancy and it didn't work out, foetus didn't develop a heartbeat and I did a D&C at 8 weeks. When I had #1, I also had spotting at 6 weeks and this time also. Doc says could be due to tiredness and stress so gave me MC till tomorrow. Also, we can see baby's heartbeat already so that shows that pregnancy is progressing. Unfortunately, difficult for me not to work for 2 whole weeks without announcing to the whole team about my pregnancy so I am just working from home and trying to attend only to urgent matters.

Hi Lawshe,

E-Csec is usually decided if you can't dilate after a long time; baby already in distress and possibly other emergency situations not discovered during the antenatal check ups.

I has E-Csec in my first preg coz when doctor broke the waterbag, the water was brown, indicating that baby already passed meconium. It is dangerous for baby to swallow the meconium so in such cases, doc will decide to go for C-sec immediately. My friend's situation was also the same.

Hi MTBs, i'm also a Sept MTB... first time mum here... found out just b4 CNY... but got some spotting and cramps on and off.. Made appointment to see gynae on 13 Feb already... but still has 2 weeks to go... kinda worried...

bryest

No of weeks of from LMP. But bcoz we usu have longer than 28day cycles, the doc will give u a new EDD & no of weeks based on the measurement of the BB.

JUL
yes i heard rare cases where women have 2 uterus. so means they can be preg and menstruating at the same time right!

bryest
yes, my gynae is dr chan kong hon. he ah, everything is good abt him, except he v naggy about weight issues! so if u put on lots of weight he will nag and nag at u hehe... his nurses are v v nice too. i heard of some v good gynaes who have nasty nurses.

kiki
yes i mean natural birth stitching. all my kidddos are by natural delivery. my first, being a twin delivery, my gynae insist epidural cos he said high risk just in case need to do emergency c sec. scared one came out the other got stuck inside! so other than my twin birth, the rest all no epidural. i nearly gave birth to my gal in the car! cos was peak hours and traffic jam and my hse v far from glen e leh!

mamijoan

I find it so stressful when I spot. Esp since the last time I did, I had a m/c. Sigh.. I guess it works out differently for diff pple. If it's meant to be, then it can be saved, but if not...

I also had spotting & stayed home to rest last week. I guess many of my colls wud have suspected already.

Hope u r feeling much better now.

milkyway

Dun wanna scare u, but I think u shd see ur doc asap. If jabs or pills are needed, then u can get them straightawat w/o delay. It's true that even with spotting, the BB is often ok & the preg can proceed normally, but sometimes, we do need to extra help & time is of the essence.

mama to 5J

Yes! That lady was preg & menstruating at the same time, that's why she found out she had 2 uterus!

Hi kiki,

The pea from the V scan is very small. I'm quite worried. Went to see gynae on 2nd day of cny. given 1 week mc, staying at hm to rest now.

Hi mamato5js,
heard from my friend that dr chan's very nice, stitching very gd.

milkyway
yes yes agree with JUL. some of our preg can do with extra help. and also to buy a piece of mind. i dun wanna worry everyday and nite.

bryest
yes yes he is v nice. why didnt u go to him then since ur frd say he is good?

JUL
please! positive thinking ok! once can see heartbeat its quite stable already, esp if ur spotting has stopped.

Hi everyone. for yesterday and today, I had some dark brown spotting 1 hr after waking up in the morning. Then after that for the rest of the day, there is no more spotting anymore. anyone have the same experience? reluctant to see another gynae as mine is on leave this week. seeing my gynae next week ...I should be 8 weeks plus by then. I detected the heartbeat at week 6. hope its ok

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm currently 7weeks plus.

Yes , got ms before my gyn appt.Today on MC, company called so many times. Cos no one is there know how to do my job. MC also cannot rest properly sigh. I just taking 1 step at a time now. Praying for things to be better soon...

mamato5J

Thanks, cannot help worrying. That day when I spotted, doc still saw heartbeat. But that was 1.5 weeks ago, so dunno if still got. Cannot help being worried lah, but I will be positive & keep encouraging myself.

gosh, you're making it sound too easy. hehe.. i'm honestly mortified with the whole birthing thingy thanks to my mum. from young she told me the story of how painful it was to give birth to me. said 2 nurses had to pin her down because she was moving too much and screaming all the way.

mamato5js,
