Hooray! we are all teachers and the headache is our job is demanding alot from us especially lately, feel so tired after each day, just didnt want to move at all. Cannot help but feel I'm short-changing them at times though I tried to do my best...When we don't have an appetite, I felt worse because we need the energy to talk! If only I can quit and stay home..
Kiki: No problem sleeping actually, but I do realise I need to toss n turn for a while before I can fall asleep even when I am very tired..

sounds like you're having heartburn? Agree with Rach that the book what to expect when you're expecting is very good, was my bible for my 1st 2 preg

Things are not very bright in my company now. My colleague in my dept is leaving and may be leaving in 1 weeks time. She is the one the help me when i go on leave. Cause this got this client has bookings all the time.
i really do not know how i'm at going to go on leave on from now onwards. Feeling so negative now. I do wonder why i fall pregnant at this point of time. It's so difficult

i have the same prob as you. i couldnt sleep very well at nit. i also toss and turn like wee hrs in the morning. sometime i feel very hot so i switch on the fan. but after a while suddenly i feel very cold and i wuold get up to swithch off the fan. its like whole nit im getting up and down. kinda making me feel so futsrated. esp when i work up in mornig i feeling extremely tired. by the time i reach home 6pm, im so tired and i will take a short nap till 7pm. then i wlll have bad heacahe.
so really dont know wat to do. scare im suffering insomania?

btw, any mums decide to cut short their hair when they realised they pregnant? i just rebonded my long hair in end dec before i realised i was preganat. and i wash my hair everyday so my hair kinda drop a fair bit and it take quite a long time to dry. in the past i nomrally dont blow dry using hair dryer cos it too hot and harsh so i normally swithc on fan and leave it to sleep. now my mil keep naggin at me to stop washing hair every day cos she say she notice i drop alot of hair and everyday she sweep the floor. and she also nag that i shuldnt wash hair so late and din blow dry.
well i find that its kinda abit troublesome when im doing confinenment.
so like to know if any mummies here keep long hair throught pregnancy and confinement or most of u prefer short.

I kept my hair long all the way till the wk before delivery then cut short short. Anyway confinement stuck at home so doesnt matter

Good afternoon gals!
I think I just had my first experience of preg hormones.
Last nite, hubby came home then gave me disapproving looks for a couple of hrs. When I asked him what's wrong, he scolded me for eating too much Rocher, that I'm gonna be a mummy & I need to be more grown up & take better care of myself.
Dunno why I suddenly just burst into tears, & started mumbling abt how I was hungry, there's nothing to eat at home, I can't go out to get food, Rocher helps to temper my nausea & heartburn,.. then I ended with crying for my mummy! Gosh, I dunno what happened to me!

The complexion is really bad leh. My face looks like a rough road surface now! Gosh, how to face anyone during CNY???
Re the burping & chest stuck... it's heartburn. I used to have that too. Very uncomfortable. Then I learned to deal with it by eating frequently. Best is to have a little something abt an hour b4 bedtime, so that the gastric juices dun come up & attack the throat area. And dun lie down immed after eating.

Thanks for your concern. The bleeding has stopped, but.. but.. I feel so stressed whenever I feel some cramps. Duno if it's the womb stretch cramps, or m/c cramps. Sigh... Can't wait for next Fri so I can go see gynae & make sure babylet is ok.

Dr Khi's my only gynae, so I dun really have anyone else to compare to. But I must have a female gynae, so there aren't that many choices out there. I went to her bcoz my GP sent me there. And so far, so good.
She is quite patient & gentle, esp when she did the V scan. She has done V scan 2x for me so far, & I dun feel any discomfort. I've heard comments that female gynaes are mostly v rough & impatient, but she seems ok to me.
I guess my main dislikes wud be that the queue is quite long, & she isn't exactly the cheapest. And TMC really has terrible parking facilities. Other than these external factors, she has been quite generous with mc if I need to rest, & she does seem to take precautions in giving me pills & jabs since I had m/c b4.
How do u find her? It's nice to see someone else having the same gynae. Everyont else is gog for Dr Wong, one of her partners. Kinda feel left out coz no one can discuss with me haha.
I have long hair. I planned to get it trimmed a couple of inches shorter for CNY, just to make it neater but with this hse arrest, I cannot go anywhere. I guess I will keep the long hair unless the weather makes it really unbearble.
Personally I feel that hair that is long enough to be tied up is best. Coz if it gets v hot, u can keep it off ur neck. Unless u really cut ur hair v v short so that it doesn't touch ur neck.

Not sure if you are logging in but i just went for my 2nd apptm yday with Dr Phua. The nurse took my weight and Dr took my blood pressure. The next apptm would require blood test.
And the charges for the 2nd time is cheaper than the 1st !
I think I will stick on to Dr Phua. His package will start at Week 16 and is only $450.
So far both my husband and me quite ok with him.
Hope your apptm with him went well too.

hi, im back frm tis morning visit to my gynae...i told my gynae abt my usual spotting and she did ask me a few questions like 'did i carry heavy things'; 'did we hv sex' etc...then she measured my blood pressure
then she proceed to give me an ultrascan...act wanna to do v scan aft the ultrascan but aft the ultrascan my gynae detected my baby's heartbeat! she say dun need to do v scan since can detect the heartbeat & the baby liao..she told me wif a hearbeat, it's much safer...me so happy and relieve! My baby is 6 weeks 4 days old and is 7mm!
The she gave me an injection and told me to cont to eat my duphaston for 3x a day and i was given 2 days mc to rest at hm...

I suspect I'm pregnant but haven't tested it yet cos I don't really want to tell my extended relatives until after first trimester and I was worried that they'll ask during CNY. So, to avoid lying, my hubby and I agreed to only test after CNY.
But, I've already missed my menses for 2 weeks (I've never missed my menses before) and had been having bearable cramps for the past 3 weeks. The cramps subsided somewhat this week but I've been feeling pretty nausating in the late afternoons. Btw, I'm also a teacher so I try to bring my marking home and rest in the afternoons after a day's work. So far, it's been managable.
It's been good and very informative reading this thread. Thanks for all your advice and posts.

I on week 5 and 4 days and gynae said can see sac but cannot detect heartbeat yet? ask me to come next week to check? how my case?? I am a bit worried

But if u feel some tender breasts.. cramps is quite usual in the beginning for me too.. i tot my menses were coming..
but it didnt.... as long as u are not spotting.. its okay...
But please take good care of urself... try to let ur HB do most of the carrying.. rest and take it easy just to be safe first..
Plain crackers seem to help relieve the nausea too..
have more milk.. and do start taking folic acid if u have not done so...
Get it from Watsons Pharmacy.. 50tablets for $2.75.
Its essential for the brain development of the bb.. and some spina biofide thing.. haha.. i not too sure what is that..
but the books i read all mentioned to take folic acid..the right dosage should be 5mg per tablet..

We saw the sac.. he said its fine... and said the dot is probably the bb.. rest well...and come back in 3 weeks time...
Why does ur gynae need u to come back next week?? Did he say everything is okay?
Personal opinion.. some drs are good to have regular check up.. but i also feel they like wanna earn my money..

If there's no spotting.. i believe its okay to delay for a few more weeks... unless u are really that worried la..

My heart is also beating faster & harder than norm. These few days, I can see my tummy pulsing!
And yes, I have a v big tummy too. Guess the pre-preg fats have all popped out haha.

My gynae said usually heartbeat can detect betw wk 6-8, so wk 5 is kinda early, esp through abdominal scan.

I'll be 29 this year. Wanna chop chop finish before i get older. Hubby already 35, so we both agreed to start and finish asap
Too bad I had to have csec before, so I rested for about a year before I tried for the next one. Thank goodness we're very fortunate, manage to conceive within a few months. Actually this is my 4th pregnancy, the 3rd preg ended in a m/c last aug, so this bb is extra-precious.

babylet: i went to dr khi very very intially when i try to conceive and i was found to have cyst, fibroids and endometriosis. it was quite unlucky cos once u have all these,chancesto concieve its hard and dr khi suggest i remove it. and i ask her how she can remove it and she say by caserian method. but i dont wish to go thru such tramatic sugery and i was told lasproscopy(keyhole sugery) is less invasive and healing and downtime is lesser compare than c cut sugery.
but i feel dr khi is not so experience when comes to complicated pregnancy or helping me to concieve. i was doing IUI first 3 rounds just purely by checking the ovluation kit positive and then i call in to ask for iui. and i try a few mths doesnt work so i move on to next doc, dr beh in TMC also who specialise in keyhole sugery. and he follow thru the ways for me to conceive by monitoring and doing a scan every 10, 12 days to check my egg to see if im ovulatin. so i kinda feel dr khi may not be too experience when coms to any those complicated pregnancy or helping couplse to conceive. but for normal gyane i think she is good.
i went back to her once afterall i prefer to have a female gyane to check on me.. so im also kinda stuck whether i shld go back to dr beh since he was the one who did the ops and actually help me to conceive.

i went back to her once afterall i prefer to have a female gyane to check on me.. so im also kinda stuck whether i shld go back to dr beh since he was the one who did the ops and actually help me to conceive.
i went to see dr khi already on week 5 and i was schedule to go back to see her on week 7 to check for fetus heart beat. she say by wk 7 can detect than it shld be quite safe liao..
so any mummies, is it true by week 6 or 7, can detech baby heartbeat during the uscan?

Hey, dun be so upset. Maybe if u make contingency plans such as if u quit, how to arrange ur finances. How to save money, whether u can be SAHW etc. Sometimes, making plans will make us feel better, even if they dun need to be utilised.

If u feel that u need more expreienced gynae, then maybe u can consider Dr Beh again since u had a gd experience with him? I think comfort with gynae v impt. Coz they follow thru in 9 mths of preg. If we dun feel comf, or dun trust them, then it's v difficult right?
Oh I saw hearbeat thru tummy scan on week 7 & 3 days, but not at week 5 6 days.

rach... maybe everything tastes good after delivery! i gave birth at 2+pm at TMC, then i asked for "high tea" immediately after that, just 2 pieces of cakes i also find them taste good wahaha
babylet... me too, a bit "emo" during pregnancy. i sent my breast pump for servicing a few days ago, then i collected it 2 days ago, and when i reached home, i realised i forgot to take back my warranty card from the shop, like that only i also felt like crying liao.
