i finally set up my pumping station today... seeing everyone pumping i also scared not enough supply...but one question...

say latch at 6am, then usually next latch is 2-3 hours later, so what time to pump??
 


omg. morning i pump milk, put in fridge, forget to put in freezer. 7hrs le. can or not. now den i put freezer -_-

its better to sun with morn sun, say abt 8am. evening sun is no good.

in any case, if u r tbfing, at times bm jaundice lasts quite long. my gal lasted a mth. but it should keep improving over the weeks.

wat i used to do is after i pump, i put in fridge...then at next pump, i combined..then keep..
u pumping a few times a day rite??
i'll pump and keep...in separate bottles...until the 3rd pump, i'll combine 1st &amp; 2nd bottle together..then at 4th pump..pour 3rd bottle into the 1st &amp; 2nd pumps...
coz they need to be at same temperature before combining..

then u'll have enough for a feed..then u pour into milk bag and freeze...
all this should take place on the same day...

anyone's bb like mine? let him latch on he wan sleep. take out he wan latch, den whole day nv sleep. since 630 till now 620pm, he only sleep from 12pm-230pm. no need sleep one ah?

I'm using Dentinox infant colic drops recommended by doc to MIL..
she bought it for bb....

not difficult but must have alot of patient. my gal like to sleep more than eat. she sleep alot in daytime. night time every hr wake up for BM cos eveytime suck abit fall asleep. today my BM has come. feel painful &amp; heavy. manage to pump out some for tonight. still endure not to feed her FM.

Tmr going for check up can advise wat should i bring out? how to warm the BM?

this wat i find our from supply of BM.

as my mother unable to cook for me last few days , i did not drink red date ginger tea which brew by her. so my supply is like so so and jus nice, yesterday when i start back the red dates tea (2.5litres per day), my supply has increase and my breast is soo full up , even now my bb feed is 1.5hrly apart...

mummies. think mus drink more fluid to boost your supply...

if u can latch on outside, then no need to bring anything.. hehe..
else u need to bring a bottle of preferably frozen milk so that can last longer..depending on what time ur gal needs to drink it...

warm the EBM by putting into a glass of hot water for a few min...
then check the bottle to see if the temperature is okay....
should be just warmer than room temperature will do...

Frozen milk afraid when wanna drink still not thaw yet. My gal drink milk no timing de. i can oso put in a cooler bag rite? so i have to bring hot water and a container. container to warm the milk.

I think a visit to the lactation specialist should be able to help you with both your problems on sore nipple (probably due to latching on wrongly) and unbalance supply (maybe due to blocked ducts at 1 side)? You won't regret seeing the specialist anyway, you will learn something from them anyhow. Good luck!

my baby condition v jia lat lah think need steroid lor cannot siam no choice. i tried calendula but doesnt work leh.his pimples not the normal pimples LOL

u need to keep massaging n coupled with hot compress then pump / latch. best is to latch. i had very bad blocked ducts when i was bfdg my gal. when she was 5 mths old, i ignored those blockages and didnt bother to massage, in the end ended up with mastitis. 3 rounds back to back! fever week after week, antibiotics course after course. and i was so damn fed up with my breastfeeding journey. so its really no joke, dun ignore it. i had to call in an LC to come to my place and clear for me. and after massaging (really painful) the milk which i pumped out was yellowish in colour. dun ask me why! probably it had been blocked for weeks there haha...
 
Yo!! been reading throughout... and yeah i haven pop!! Princess very comfy inside haa.. Just got 2 days MC from gynae, as i was very tired. BB already est. 3116g.. EDD tomorrow leh.. even my colleague who's edd is a week later than me also gave birth today! Wonder if my princess can come out on Children's Day, which is also my next gynae appointment? HEHEE..

tmr still need go back school settle some stuff. Think i still don't take leave they will all scream at me for scaring them...

My baby abt 2 weeks old and i have checked the handbook that baby abt 2 to 3 weeks old will have colic. My baby now start to sleep less.. sleep awhile wake up and cant really sleep well in the afternoon. Last week, this does not happen. Now seem to be not able to sleep as gd as first week. and even today take it for example. She only really sleep well only at abt 1130pm.. Wow.. that very long for a baby to be able to sleep soundly for 3 to 4 hrs even afternoon never really sleep well.

Anyone can advise how to tackle this problem or what is the cause? is it colic.

And is it proven not to feed baby with too much water?
 
Stephanie - Me trying to drink more liquids and also rest more. Just now pump out after 3 hrs was 45ml. I did latch her on in the evening but I used nipple shield to protect my sore nipple. I try to pump every 3-4hrs. What is a breast shell ar? Me blur. How about using the pump on the other breast while u latch baby on the other breast? So that you can save the BM.

Rach – I went for checkup on wed and doc said its 90% healed. He gave me some cream to apply on the stitches near the anus. I think need time to heal ba. Initially I needed my hb to help me out of bed and also climb stairs so slowly, get up from seat also very slow. I try to rest my bum more often. When I was discharged from hospital, I was constipated for 5 days and had difficulty peeing. Had heavy bladder feeling but the output was little, gotta run so many times to the toilet.

Did u drink water as well? Or just the longan drink?

Kam – Even though my left breast produces less milk, but I don’t feel engorged ley. I thought if have blocked ducts, I would still feel engorged?

Bonjour – My PD told me not to give water until baby is 6 months.

Anyone knows what is the adequate amount of milk should a baby drink when about 11 days old? Is it 60ml for every feed? For the past 3 nights, my baby always cries from 2am – 6am, I would feed her with BM then one hour later she cry again and keep licking her lips and sticking out her tongue, so I top up with 40ml of FM, later next hour, she make noise again and same thing (lick her lips and stick out her tongue), so I feed her 40ml FM again. Is she on a growth spurt? I tried to pacify her by carrying her up for 15mins then when I put down on the bed, she make noise again and this carries on until 6-7am. My mum said I should not feed her so many times in the night, but what to do, she keeps crying..

what i did the last round was to put the milk into the freezer when i woke up..by the time i'm leaving home,
its not totally frozen and neither just fridge temp... it was a bit in between..
then i brought it out in a cooler bag....
but when i checked it on the way, it has all become water again....
i didnt bring hot water... coz i was going to Mount A tht time, i just ask the nurse at the wards for hot water...
if u think where u are going will have hot water, then no need to bring lo...
any cup will do to warm up the milk..
bring also extra wet wipes and diaper in case need to change outside too...

wah. i already started peeing and pooing at the hospital before discharged...
and there was some infection on week 1..left side.. week 2 became right side..
last check up gynae said recovering well.. but not fully yet...
so gave some spray and antiseptic cream..
feeling better these few days.. but can still feel stitches towards the anus side.. wah lao..pain sia.....

i only drink longan drink.... no water allowed...causes wind....

yes ur mum is right...she prob just wanna suckle..crying doesnt mean hungry...
and if she just wanna suckle..just let her suckle ur breast...
dun give FM la... else u enlarge her intestines next time then jialat...
need to eat a lot to feel full....
growth spurts is normal to want a feed every hour..just latch on..

Rach, yep, she helped me but it was so painful that I pushed her hands away a coupled of times. I may do another round with her first wk of oct. U find the massage effective in losing the tummy pouch?

my #1 ever had fungal infection on the face due to (according to the doctor) a reaction to the steriod cream that we were applying for his eczema. other than steriods, did your PD prescribe antibiotic cream too?

to warm EBM.. the stuff i bring are:

my cooler bag
container to warm the milk
hot water in a flask

sometimes it will take longer to warm the milk. i will take it out for few minutes then i warm it.

i think your bb is not drinking enough. that's why she's crying..for my no.1 by the time she's 4 days old, she's drinking 90ml! 2 weeks old, she's drinking 120ml! 3 weeks old, she's drinking 150ml! very very scary. my baby was borned 3.5kg. so, i believe bigger baby drinks more!

that time being a first time mother, we thought her milk in take will not increase so fast. so we fed her consistently 60-70ml of FM after asking the hospital nurse how much she fed my baby. bad mistake! she was crying non stop the moment she woke up! yes, sometimes, in the middle of the night like your baby! then on 4th day, i realised she's not peeing at all for 6 hours and she slept the longest time! luckily day 5 we got to bring her back for check up and that's how we know she got jaundice due to dehydration. imagine how guilty we felt..my girl got to stay 1 night in the hospital to suntan.

so, now when you feed your baby, make 90ml. if she can finish it, that means she's taking at least this amount. if she cried 1 hour later for milk, it might mean 90ml is not enough. up another 30ml, say 120ml in the next feed. if she can't finish, throw away. then slowly adjust the amount.

by the way, when baby is really going through growing spurt, their milk in take is indeed very scary. at one point, my girl took 150ml and half hour later cry again..she could be drinking ike 200+ ml within a span of 3 hours! very scary right for a baby that young?

but hey, their milk intake will not increase exponentially forever..hehe... you know what, my girl milk intake had been stagnant at 150ml-180ml till now since she's 3 months old.. she's coming to 2

oh yeah, sharing this with you because i dont' wish your baby like my baby.. we underestimate her milk intake and underfed her!

the good thing abt bbs n children is no matter wat wound or skin condition they haf, it healed fast...

rem i said my gal fell fr the bed and hurt her shoulder? cldn't lift up her arm, cln't stand up fr squatting position, cldn't sit up fr lying position and so on coz all these actions need to use the strength fr the shoulders...she was able to resume back all her normal activities juz after a week or two...nw think she has forgotten abt the incident liao coz still jumping, hoping, running abt as usual...

if we haf acne or broke our old bones...don't know will take how long to recover, haha...

If a baby after drinking milk and add another 10ml of water for her to drink.. what will be the effect?

Hi guys, not say i dun trust u all. just need to reconfirm.. drinking water will cause baby discomfort?

just want to find out the reason why baby at times seem ok.. at times just dont want to sleep even yawning and at times cry and stop and cry again..

really headache.. need advise..

And beside this.. any of you all got gd recomend PD and also good GP for my baby to go for injection. Thanks a million

sometimes check diaper.maybe they pooed or urined and wanna be change...
maybe sometimes havent drink enough..
are u using FM or BM??

hmm.. is not me that i feed the baby with 10ml.. anyway is ok who is the one who feed.. just want to make sure it wont cause any harm.

but is it true baby stick tongue out mean hungry.. to me i dun buy that. i find at times maybe she just want to suck something and not really hungry.. cos i just feed my baby milk and later her tongue stuck out again.. to me i find cant be my baby always tongue stuck out for one or two time i have to always feed on.. not right also..

i feed my baby FM and BM.. at nite will be FM day time will be BM.

anyone got good GP to recomend for me to go for injecction?

due to baby drink formula powder is too dry for thoat, my cl say is better to let bb drink abit water after milk feeded. if baby don;t wan drink plain water can add abit the fat baby water, it've remove wind in the stomach use and smooth thoat...

1. EBM in cooler bag
2. hot water in flask
3. container to hold hot water (i use styrofoam cup)
i bring EBM from the fridge... not from freezer. then need to change hot water at least once to warm the EBM

10ml of water is too much! PD said it is ok to give baby 10-20ml of water for one whole day.

I’m surprised too and today morning even more..I’m happy cos when I gave birth to my #1 gal, I gave up breastfeeding within 1 week because of the engorgement and my company doctor gave me medicine to reduce the engorgement and then the milk supply gone. But this time, my gynac gave me medicine which helps my engorgement and won’t affect breastfeeding and my milk supply.

I think there are different medicines for engorgement. I was given antibiotics and medicine for pain/swelling.

i tried my first pumping this morning immediately after latching, only got little milk.
then my CL commented "pump only so little?"
Me: just after latching what
CL: why not u wait till full then pump?
Me: wait till full then baby is hungry liao

I really hate people who don't understand breastfeeding much to comment so much. how much and when i want to pump is none of their business!!!

then she always keeps asking me i feed ji3 li4 (how many "balls"), initially i would answer her one side or both sides. then she went on to comment one side only where got enough. but my baby drinks until he spit out my nipple! baby knows he is full or not what.

the first week when baby took a few attempts to latch on successfully, she always stood there and watch, like watching soccer game and kept saying "eat liao" when baby was still struggling. i was so pek chek that baby couldn't latch and she was so irritating. then finally baby latched on, she was like watching soccer went into goal and commented.

BF-ing is my and my baby's affair, even my hubby doesn't comment so much, keep giving me encouragement. i really hate other people (even my MIL) to comment so much when i BF or pump.

just now i told CL don't ever comment on how much other people pump, though she apologised, i still feel very angry

i understand how u feel. i had that experience too, not from CL but from my maid! so irritating right! she is 40 and a mother of 4 and a grandma of 1 can u believe it! so she thinks she super experienced and smart. i cant be bothered with her. first week i latch n pump only got 10-20ml! from 2nd week onwards i no longer pump cos mom who is helping me with confinement went home for a week to run some errands so i super busy didnt pump just latched n latched all day long. now my baby is almost 1 mth old i only pump when i need to go out so mom can bottlefeed. and even after i finished latching i can still manage to express 120ml and i didnt even empty my breasts with that. i just express the amount my baby drinking currently. so ignore comments by ignorant ppl cos we know our own bodies r capable of producing for our babies!
