Hi Shelled and Rach,
My wife deliver my baby at TMC also. But they say my baby bill and Mother bill is combined and thus the baby bill cant be offset with medisave.
Shelled, is your bill and ur baby bill in a one total bill. And your baby bill can be offset using medisave is it bcos ur baby discharge later than u or you and ur baby discharge together?
They told me my baby and my wife discharge together so baby bill cant be separated and thus my baby bill cant be offset by medisave.
Anyone please help to confirm. Thanks alot

most likely i use teats fr avent? since all my bottles are from avent. n yes. i sterilise de glass bottles n pump direct into them, since dey can fit to de ameda pump direct
i going back to work in dec. but i gonna start bottle feeding my boy when he turns 6wks. like tat i can throw him with my parents when i go out =x

Both my kids were delivered in TMC. As to my knowledge, they always sepearate mummy's and baby's bill, whether mummy and baby discharge together or not. It doesn't make sense to combine the 2 bills, cos it's 2 different package mah. Try talk to them again. It's unfair that you can't claim medisave for baby.

My baby (who is on TBF) has been pooing like what you described - yellow liquid poo poo. I asked my PD, he said it's ok, cos baby this age doesn't know how to control their bowel. So when they pee, they tend to let out some of the (yellow) liquid from the anal also. Your baby should have bright yellow poo if on TBF.

We have taken her out to a mall twice to buy things and mIL's for dinner etc. The stool is still very watery but I cant buy jing feng san here, shucks. Will wait a day and see if it goes away.

The doctors and nurses told me for the first day baby will b very sleepy. No need to worry about feeding but second day onwards she'll probably want to feed a bit more. First 24 hrs priority us to let the baby sleep if not intested in feeding.

it's usually automated..coz bb bill i heard can claim majority from Medisave de...
so usually bb bill only pay minimum cash..

Thanks so much Waiwai and others who help to answer to my queries. I am quite pissed off as to how TMC charge my bill. Totally nonsense and for medisave deduction, instead of putting my NRIC number with my name, they put my wife NRIC number.
What is all these. Totally pissed off with the bill.
I just call them and also my gynae. My gynae Doc Jocelyn Wong is so good and she promise to help me request for the bill to be separate even though i shall call my PD to get all these to be done. Doc Jocelyn Wong actually can just ask me to refer to the PD. But she never do that. She even promise me that she will call the management/dept tml and check out with them/request them to have the baby and mother bill to be separated and Doc Gynae Wong told me she will ask the relevant dept to call me tml.
All i will say abt Doc Jocelyn Wong is a very very good doctor. Whenever my wife and i visit her. She is a very patience Doctor that will listen to you and help u whenever she can. Even when deliever she is calm and experience. And i heard from my friend that her stiching is very good. My wife dont feel much pain at all even after the stiching when the baby is deliever. It show that Doc Jocelyn is really Good.
If anyone ask any Gynae to recomend. I will strongly recomend Doc Jocelyn Wong.
However, i also believe other Gynae at TMC is also extremely good.

Bb's bill got medisave claim of $558.54 lor. So I dunno why yours cannot claim.

Like what Kam mentioned, newborns have reserves leftover from days in the womb, and can go with very little (or almost no) intake for abt 3 days.
There's no need to worry that bb will starve or anything. But if you're concerned, do ask the PD attending to your bb.

importing speed depends on how much content you have. mine had 500+ entries (mostly pics) and 200+ comments = about 20+ minutes to import. you can estimate based on that.

Thanks, feel a lot more assured. She doesnt show any other signs of diarrhea like dehydration etc so i guess should be ok.

My hubby and family dont really believe in confinement, although i try not to bring her out too much. But sometimes stay at home all day very boring la. only thing is it's quite cold here so I have to make sure she is dressed warm. The whole family is sick with a sorethroat my toddler caught. Hope i dont pass to her.

I have been so tired taking care of my BB elise. Finally got time to log in.
same problem due to space constraint, I have found this place for holding my bb 1st mth celebration.
Chili Padi Restaurant at NUS - very nice ambience and very value for money buffet.
The only down side is that it is quite remote.... hard to get there if no car.
So we charter a bus service pick up at (to and fro) Clementi MRT. N most friends and relatives drive
Very successful and good reviews by my friends and relatives. Buffet for holding 100 over ppl, $12+ per pax and no need to look for chairs n tables renting. Some guest even mentioned that they will come back for their food again.
The manager blocked a section for us n it is like a private event.
I srrongly recommend this place for BB 1st mth celebration.

milkyway-it's up to u if u do nt wish to start pumping as long as u feel comfortable abt it.
for me, i bottle feed as well coz during the day, my mum or mil will feed bb while i rest. moreover, i m a FTWM so i dun wanna start introducing bottle late b4 i go bk to work.

- Don't know what else i need to prepare sia at home... How on earth do i sterilise the breast pump huh? I got the pigeon rapid steamer.. just dump it in? hehee maybe i should start sterilising every other thing before i pop also.
- Oh those mummies with babysafe matteress, which side should bb sleep on? the side with holes or not?
- Think tomorrow go back school sure got a lot people ask why i haven take leave -.-''
- I have yet to experience BH i think O_O is it normal??? or maybe i experienced it but didn't know its BH. hahaha..

Hi, i'm fine. I have to do sooooo much more. I am really tired and shagged. Only managed to sleep about 4-6hours in total since i came back. I am trying to be positive now...
I didn't have Braxton HIcks contractions till wanna deliver.. those few days before...

5.30am - "SHOW"
8am - Arrive at hospital
8.30am - Strap on CTG. Check dilation, only 3cm. "show" continued. Nurse informed gynae that i had heavy "show".
11am - On drip to speed up contractions since my contractions are irregular since i came in.
1.30pm - Gynae came to check on me. 3.5cm dilate!!! OMG~ Waterbag not broke, thus gynae broke it.
1.45pm - Start to feel the contraction pain (labour pain?). Very painful. USed laughing gas!!!
3.30pm - 8-9cm dilate! Got the urge to push... told nurses and they said gynae would only come when they see baby's head!!!!!
3.50pm - Gynae arrived! PHEW~ FInally.... PUSH PUSH PUSH... baby's head went in again... push for 10-15mins......
4+ pm - Finally pushed baby out!
Was quite surprised that baby's weight is at least 3kg as 2wks ago, he was only 2.3kg!
Now my stitches at the bottom hurts. Very uncomfortable. Poo also must poo slowly and carefully... so afraid to poo!

hi twiggy, wai wai, shelled...thanks for the advise. yes, checked with the PD this morning, she mentions the same thing as well...as baby got reserve food, so they will not keen to be fed. She says usually by 3rd days..when discharging, bb will demand for milk. Anyway, managed to latch her on to suckle for 2 times today, abt 10 mins each session. After that, she falls asleep again. I find it so hard to latch baby correctly..she seems to be biting on my nipple. Now, feel that my nipple a bit sore liao.. ;(

Eh btw, should i place a waterproof or water absorbent sheet for the cot matteress? A bit lost leh.. The babysafe matteress comes with a cotton cover le, do i place the waterproof/absorbent pad on it followed by a crib sheet? Will it defeat the purpose of the airholes? Scared it will be warm for bb leh >.< Any advise?

my CL does the housework too (laundry, clean floors, wash toilet). i think all CLs do help out with housework. mommies, please correct me if i'm wrong! in fact, she still has lots of free time during the day after the cooking and housework.
when they say baby has "reserves", it just means that they can tahan not drinkg anything for the first few days of their lives. they don't need FM even though ur milk/colostrum hasn't come in. there's enough in their bodies to tide them through. and don't be surprised when u see she's lost weight after discharge from hospital. it's normal.
the nurses still want u to "breastfeed" even though there's no milk because it's more for you to practice BFg and for bb to "practice" latching on.

hahaha! i went through the same thing too! was so confused! in the end, i bought a breathable waterproof sheet which i place on top of the bedsheet. i can't remember the brand, but it feels just like a thick bedsheet. it's not those plastic type of waterproof mats. it's pretty good. used it for both my kiddos. very happy with it!
sorry for complaining ah... but BFg makes me so bloody hungry!!!!! goodness... and it makes me hungry for CHOCOLATE! how to lose my 8kg?????
