Make HB wear mask lor. If he coughs, customers may not like also right?

Hiaz.. that's why this touch water or not thing, u really have to decide how strict u wanna be lor.

I think depends on ur body abt the coconut frequency. Some pple say 3x a week. Some pple say 1x a mth only. I think can take at least 1x /wk bah? Sometimes I take 2 a week hehe. *shiok*

I would recommend baby signing to all moms! Reduces a lot of frustration for both mom & bb leh, cos at least bb will be able to communicate simple needs like milk, eat, drink, etc. Then no need to play so much guesswork lor.

Regarding slowing down verbal development, since J isn't really talking yet, I cannot vouch that it will or won't slow down speech. But at the very least, signing still reduces alot of guesswork!

jenifur
wei wei wei, my J not really all that playboy hor. He just has short attention span.

Pamelia
But... you just ate sashimi ytd leh, so I don't think you're all that strict when it comes to adhering to "traditional rules"? I showered and washed my hair during confinement also, never ever used any herbs, just regular soap/shampoo. I also bathed bb, washed dishes, and touched water for many different reasons. Never see me die lor.

At the end of the day, don't have to care what ppl tell you lah, as long as you're comfortable with what you're doing.

milkyway
I am still waiting for you hor!

blessedmommy · Jul 25, 2009

Rach
wah seh u talk like one expert mommy leh! haha...

for me all my water bag gotta be burst by gynae. just as well cos my contractions always v fast, gynae said if my water bag break first i sure in trouble cos not enuf time to get to hosp. hopefully this time also same thing cos 6th baby already i panicking already. i scared deliver at home or in the car!

Pamelia
if hub wear mask u also gotta wear mask leh. i also had a scare my hub was coughing half of the nite 2 nites ago. but thank God after 3am he stopped and until now no more cough already. u must take care lor. but dun scare urself first might not be h1n1 lah.

milkyway18 · Jul 25, 2009

jul
u only have withdrawal symptoms ar.. i have psychological illness lor. Go out with my colleagues can only see them try clothes, buy clothes.. i see nice nice clothes want to buy also cannot.. felt so sad leh.. then with the GSS on.. i felt so lugi lor. Then my colleagues still happily showing me their loots... 心理不平衡 u know?

shelled · Jul 25, 2009

Jul / milkyway
I also 心理不平衡 leh. I saw so many nice clothes on cheap sale, but I dunno what size I'll be after K comes out! Last time with J, i whack the sales as usual, then end up a lot of things cannot even wear cos too big, and my hips size never went back to pre-preg. Wasted a lot of money lor!

So now I TAHAN. I only buy bags and other accessories that I confirm still can use after give birth.

jenifur · Jul 25, 2009

Pam

My mum refuse to let me touch water when she was doing my confinement. After brush teeth & wash face, I must faster dry my hands & use white rice wine to rub on my hands. Bathe only can use herbs & only can wash hair 2 wks after delivery provided tt day is v sunny.

It really depends v much on yrself. Get yr DH to bathe yr BB in e morning before he go out lor

pamelia · Jul 25, 2009

Jul,

I was thinking 1 coconut a day MINIMUM. I was hoping for EVERY MEAL have 1 coconut hahaha.. because I "Ren" Very long already!

Shelled,

I ate the Sashimi rice because my customer buy for me.. And my DH don't eat. So I eat. Give face... XD

Mamato6,

But if we wear the mask, I'm very worried that we will scare off the customers. >.<

You know. Typical Singaporeans " Kia See " (Don't know how to spell)

He went to buy 5 N95 masks to keep in the salon a few weeks ago. But none of us use yet.

I'm not scared he is h1n1 case, Doctor confirmed he is just having a cough with phlegm... And because I know how to tell the symptoms. And if he got it, I'm sure to get it too. XD We're together almost 24hours a day. And I told him before we even got married, that if he wanna die... Must die with me.. Cannot leave me alone in this world. He wanna speed, speed with me in the car. Not alone! I am not afraid of death, but of being left alone without my soulmate. =3

yah now can only buy bags lor.. even shoes (with heels) also cannot leh... sigh... with all the mango, zara, southaven, charles & keith sales... see only cannot buy.. very 辛苦

pamelia · Jul 25, 2009

Jenifur,

My DH did tell me that he will bath BB before he go to work. But I scared my MIL will think I slack >.< Because now my dog also my DH bathing... He got a lot of things to "bath".

If I were to bath BB I have to rub my hands with rice wine? Then the smell will be very strong no? Because I had false measles before, And my PIL bought this powder and rice wine for my DH to "paint" my body with... Though it was about a year ago that I had false measles, I vaguely remember the smell. >.<

Everyone keeps telling me I will deliver early... Because of my active lifestyle even up till now.. Next week is 33 weeks already... How long will the baby normally be down before we "PoP"?

chellechelle · Jul 25, 2009

Its seems like a crowded Saturday here this week!

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

I stopped shopping for myself since I got pregnant - except for maternity bras and clothings. Husband asked me what I want for push gift and yet I can't think of anything.

The only non-maternity purchase was a pair of pumps and just within week, my feet expanded !@#%(*&^%$#@

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

Shelled,

You managed to rush back before your son woke up?

chellechelle · Jul 25, 2009

The monkey was still sleeping when I got back. I had to wake him up, and then he scolded me for disturbing him.

I asked my hubs for a heart-cut pink sapphire as push gift, but apparently it's very very hard to find a natural one in SG. So whether I'll really get it or not, I also dunno. I had no push gift for J, cos I didn't get to the pushing stage! (Feel so cheated.)

chellechelle · Jul 25, 2009

Thanks Momoteh...

I wonder how many mummy's can still make it to the fair wor.. heez

chellechelle · Jul 25, 2009

Jenifur...

jenifur · Jul 25, 2009

Ling

shelled · Jul 25, 2009

jenifur
Wah, car as push gift is not cheap hor! I think my heart-cut pink sapphire cannot even buy 4 wheels sia.

Wei wei! Blur then say blur hor! Don't blame me for infecting you all!! Blurness is not airborne lor.

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

Shelled

You can go to those independant jeweller and ask them to source for you.

Jenifur

Car as push gift? Not bad...I just hope to be a SAHM.

shelled · Jul 25, 2009

bbq98
I think my hubs already contacted all the jewellers in SG liao. He was warning me a couple of weeks ago that so far his search has not been fruitful, so if I don't get my sapphire, then cannot be sad. He'll get me something else as push gift.

jenifur · Jul 25, 2009

Shelled

I aimed too hight liao..tt's why after pushing 2 BB still haven't get my gift. Lucky he nv get me a toy car

itsy · Jul 25, 2009

Went for a scan this morning, finally got my preg week confirmed. I'm at 31st week and BB is 1.7kg. Doc says it's average weight but refering to this chart...

http://www.babycenter.com/average-fetal-length-weight-chart

Week 31: BB should be 3.31 pounds = 1.50139074 kilograms

So he's 200g heavier than norm... should be ok right? I'm very worried BB too big cannot come out naturally.

jul_04 · Jul 25, 2009

Push Gift

Nvr heard of this? U mean there's a gift tpo the mummy for delivering the BB? Ooh..

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

Hehhehe...ask ur husband for one.

jul_04 · Jul 25, 2009

itsy

FDinally! haha Well, 200g is only a bit lor, not to worry lah. Anyway that's just a gauge. The growth got spurts one, sometimes more, sometimes less.

jenifur, shelled

Wah say! Car & sapphire huh? Dunno if HB can afford, not after the reno & all the BB expenses. Maybe I aim something like $100?

momoteh

Thanks for the Taka Fair info.

jenifur

Haha u blur lor. I was thinking what has fair in Aug gotta do with our gathering.

Shopping

I thin I must try hard not to buy boliao stuff. Precisely b/c I miss out on all the clothes & stuff shopping during GSS, I start buying boliao things like BB stuff, Cal BB, bag organisers etc etc. Not that they're useless, but I cud have done without them right?

jul_04 · Jul 25, 2009

mamato6

Seems like quick labour is not 100% good lah hor? Esp if this is ur 6th wor!

pamelia

I think u take whatever u can lah. But maybe for a start, u take 3 coconus/wk first? See how the body reacts?

pamelia · Jul 25, 2009

Jul,

3 Coconuts a week? Okay... Will GLADLY do so... ^^

I'm feeling so sleepy today... My body is aching!
Tmr is my brother's Solemnization. And I don't know what to wear... >.< Maybe just a denim skirt with my tank top and my sandals. =3

I'm not a dressy kind of person, So I always got this problem on what to wear on occasions... I would rather wear jeans and boots! ( No boots for me now T^T )

shelled · Jul 25, 2009

Jul
Aiyah, if you happy, don't take push gift also can. But I greedy mah. Must take every chance to squeeze my hubs. When we got married, no wedding banquet hor, already very save money liao.

itsy
Don't worry, be happy! 200g is alright lah. Afterall, already stated it's "average", so some bb bigger, some smaller mah.

RE: Push Gift
Actually there's this other thing called "Delivery Diamond/s". Alot of celebrities get gifted with them after having babies. I had wanted one when I had J, but then cos never "deliver", my hubs got me crystal earrings instead. I call them my "C-section Crystals".

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

Get the celebration rings from Tiffany (don't know if I got the name right)...one for each bb....then the more kids you have, the more rings you get.

blessedmommy · Jul 25, 2009

Jul
quick labours are good! just make sure i get to hosp first hehe... v scared give birth during peak hours i will be stuck in PIE jam gg to glen e!!

Pamelia

bbq98 · Jul 25, 2009

Spore men not very generous. Ya, have to pushed them a bit. Can't blame us for being demanding lor.

phengpheng · Jul 25, 2009

my ex-colleague a HK "old" man oso buy his wife a diamond ring when she popped their #2...

i asked my hubby... he just said.. smooch smooch only... =(

ginack · Jul 25, 2009

Push-gift? hmm.. just help me do housework can already. Or better still, angbao LOL then deposit into account save for bb

Just came back from Gentle birth talk.. quite interesting. Anyone got a birth plan can share? HAHAHA... cham dont know to change hospital or not -_-" Mt. A more expensive compared to KKH hor?

ginack · Jul 25, 2009

Ling: Got another Full Month package webby i saw on mumcentre: http://www.partridgepear.com/

hahaa.. My HOD's bb's full mth was from Ecreative. My bday cake was from Royals. Wedding cupcakes from Pateli's Crave. Not sure if their full month are worth it or yummy enough.. don't come after me ah

26erithink · Jul 25, 2009

Does anyone know if the taka baby fair is very wu3 hua2? I was thinking of getting all my baby stuff next week because I'm on leave, but if the fair is worth waiting for, then I'll wait for it... what do you think?

ginack · Jul 25, 2009

oh oh and there's a sale going on in TOY R US. http://www.toysrus.com.sg/inside/Baby09-mainpage.htm

26erithink · Jul 25, 2009

oh yes, and thanks jenifur and shelled for the info on baby signing. I think I'll try it on my little one when he's ready. But I don't have to start him so early right?

itsy · Jul 25, 2009

PUSH GIFT
Mamato6Js, Hahha Alamak! Pushed 5 also no gifts! Actually I agree with u Singapore man not so romantic and dunno what is "Push Gift", they think it's your "job" to push what, why must give u a gift?!?! Furthermore, will be very sad if to ask him for the gift and after pushing, u realised he didn't even get u anything! Hahha angry! I know my hubby, damn "old school" type, if he even know how to thank me verbally for "pushing", I should be happy.

Gina
Which hospital is more ex depends on what type of room you staying as well. If Suite, I believe KKH more ex than Mt A.

pamelia · Jul 25, 2009

Mamato6,

Last night when I went to have dinner and the drink lady approached me, I think she read my mind or sth. She kept telling me their coconut very big and good. XD

I was impressed she saw through me... After craving for coconuts so bad. XD

ginack · Jul 25, 2009

itsy: Yeah i guess so.. just sent an email in to KKH asking about maternity packages and if civil servant are entitled to other benefits as well, since my gynae is a specialist.

birth plan: did you all download or write your own birth plan ah? the lady at the talk said it's better to write your own then to download..

jenifur> wah. u scaring me. haha. think i will be super paiseh. really wonder if burst in office how eh =x

jul> dun think is thick ba. is thin. but i dun like the taste of red dates n longan. so hais. stress -_-

keke. yaya. is de same pooh set we have. when i went only got yellow n blue. hubby thinks the yellow one looks more bright n cheerful. so he decided tat we shuld get tat. so we got tat lo =p

rach> yaya. i oso dun mean de case. i mean it really comes with the pillow+bolster+case. super worth it. so de set is super big n bulky =p

pamelia> keke. i din quite like tat sashimi rice tat ur customer bought. but free =x think is not soy sauce. it's sesame oil. cos i dun like sesami oil. so i nv like tat rice. my dad however likes it =p

1coconut a day? abit too much ba. heard it's supposed to make delivery smoother. which oso means if taken in excess, will lead to bb arriving earlier den expected?

milkyway> i know exactly how u feel man. cos i olways go shopping with my colleagues. now can only c dem buy n try. no matter how nice de clothes, i know after i wear, not nice liaos. sian. den it's so cheap with gss. arghhhh..

momoteh> yeah. cheong de bb fair. c got wat value to buy items.

ling> keke. i shuld b able to go to. cos my delivery still long.

jenifur> haha. cos ur push gift too costly. hubby oso ask me wat i wan for gift. but seriously now LV means nothing to me. i juz wan de best for him. so i told hubby to keep his money for the little one. plus we juz bought a car. need to be more thrifty n not spend unnecessarily.

itsy> keke. not all sgp men like tat. my hubby fren mentally prepared him i think. he gave his wife a rolex on deir first kid n an upgrade of her diamond ring on her 2nd kid.

Gina...

Ok will add that in.. U sure those u mentioned are nice ah? Am tryin to only put those commonly used, well-known for their brand n those recommended by mummies.. This is to narrow down the search as there are just too many of the full month packages available in the market.. Just let me know if u have more recommendations.. will put them up in the list.. thanks!
