(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

Mamato6js/girly,
do we need a carseat for bb immediately after discharged? was thinking of getting the carseat after the first month..

shortlisted the Britax carseat too.. looks comfy and can be used from 0-4yrs.. should be quite value for money in that sense..

Michelle,
arrhh.. so bb kingdom does not sell discounted prices ar.. okie will check out Robinson.. whre else got Britax too?

rach...

The ALGO drawers looks bigger n can put more spacious right? The Toyogo ones looks compact n smaller..

I tink can more or less settle for ALGO liao.. nicer also.. just a matter of gettin the single tiered n stack cos can choose colours n can buy as many tiers as i want or the 4 tiered with all 4 colours lo..

btw.. do u have to dimensions for the ALGO units?

thanks ya Ling,

my school start in jan2010.
am thinking after my confinement , i go take car license la..

oh ya, you hubby dun drive to work? if working in neighbourhood country like msia?

<font color="0000ff">Pamelia></font>
Okie noted. will place your order.
Please transfer to me tonite!!! hehehe..

I'll be waiting..

Wah!! $530....... Capella $369 already think until mad...cant imagine if $530.. hahaha...

<font color="0000ff">shellede></font> hahahaa.. okie..
u not working..so its different..
we both doing sales..and we are both running around spore all the time..
a car is a necessity for travelling... hehehe...
Just that a matter of affordability...
and...with us saving up to renov our own love nest....
it is really a 2nd priority....
We are always debating..house or car??
hahaha.. the house is there..but the car is not there yet...so can still wait...
but praying for a miracle la.....
maybe someone will donate their car to us... wahahhahahahha...
or a car may just drop from the sky!!!!!!!!! wooohooo..
or someone may just offer to buy us a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyy!!!
happy.gif

<font color="0000ff">Michelle></font> S228 can be 1 fold.. it allows 2 fold to make it smaller... but s705 definitely cannot be folded into smaller..
coz its bulkier.. haha..
we love S705 nonetheless..
but...dun need yet...wait till after full month see got anyone give or not..
ahhahahhahaa....

<font color="0000ff">flower></font> haha..ok la..the smell not that strong..
i dun really go to salon though..just once so far...to do my rebonding and highlight! hahahahahhahaha......

but not everytime got do acrylic de during mani...so its okay....

actually i read books say to avoid.. but if smell abit also wont kill la... hehee.. :p

i think manual is better.. u can have the liberty to drive both.
In event of emergency, what if there is just a manual van that is available??? at least u can get it started and drive it.
May not be that smooth,, but at least u can drive...
else having a auto licence with the presence of a manual car renders us still renundant!!! hahahaha...

<font color="0000ff">Crystalz></font> noted ur email. can provide me with a contact number as well? thanks..

<font color="0000ff">Ling></font> yes u are right. the Algo ones are the wider in size.... both my mum and i also felt that its more spacious..
its 37cm in width... ermm..can refer to the 1st pic for the dimension...not sure can see or not...else i can zoom from my original pic..
happy.gif

but the toyogo ones at NTUC confirm can put inside my space.. hahaha..
the Algo one is....JUST NICE. I measured again...probably have 45.5-46 inch of space.
If my baby cot is CONFIRMED just 30 inch in width... then the 37cm width will be 14.8inch... that leaves me with just a little gap or 0.2 inch...
or maybe nothing at all...

yah...we also thinking of getting the ALGO ones at Giant...
hahahaha... BUT HOR.. i only saw one box there just now...................
I not sure if thats the last one..
i pray its not..and will have more stock..
else i'll flip.. hahahahahaaha..........

Dimensions huh.. wait ah.. i go zoom the pic...
happy.gif

Width=37cm (from extreme left to right)
Depth = 50cm (from front to back)
Height = 95cm (from top of cover to base)

<font color="0000ff">Baby Cot Dimensions></font>
Does anyone already have a cot at home??
can help me measure the WIDTH of the baby cot?? the exterior..
As in how much space needed to put in the cot???
I need to know if its actually 31 inch or 30 inch exact or even 29.5inch!
I know our baby mattresses all comes in 28inches...
wondering how much space the sides of the wooden frame takes up...
hehehe...will appreciate all brands and kinds of baby cot dimensions..
just wanna know,,
Mine is a Nina Brand Baby Cot.

Still looking for a cot =\

By the way, has any of you signed up for cordlife or stemcord? My colleague signed up for stemcord coz the cord is stored in 2 different places @ science park I &amp; II. Not sure if my budget will allow me not so wanna find out more from those who has done comparison etc :\

thanks ling..but this cot is smaller i think..its only 27 inch width...
and the top is wavy and more fanciful.. hahaha....

i called the shop..they told me is 30inch...
MMmm... but i need to go and measure myself then i'll be convinced.. hahaha....sometimes they just dun understnad why i need the EXACT measurements.. hehehe.. :p

*mama to 6Js*
ya hahaha...we always kid abt this car issue oso...jokes abt driving a mini bus or maybe even a lorry...if current car, maybe some1 need to sit on the roof, inside the boot or like water skiiing, tied a rope on back of car and hold on to it with feet on skateboard...

*flower*
think rach is right...learning to drive a manual car is certainly more helpful, u never know when u will need to drive a van or even a pick-up. and oso if we were to go to some countries, in which only manual cars are available or cheaper to rent, having a auto license will lose it's purpose. And most impt, if u decided to get a manual car licence some day, u'll need to learn all over again. remember that if u gt manual car licence, can drive both manual and auto car BUT if u gt auto car licence, die die can drive auto car nia...

*rach*
hw abt 2nd hand car?? new car cheap nowadays, 2nd hand car lagi cheap. can even pay off all at once and save interest with having bank loans. anyway, some pple prefers brand new car, who don't?? bt for nw, a car tat can serve it purpose of transporting pple around without getting wet is gd enuff for me esp with so many kids...guess nt many taxi drivers will want to take us.

*milky*
for me, we do nt do so...i juz cuddle my newborned sitting at the back while hub drives...
*mama to 6Js* so what do u normally do??

*Ling*
wow, 1 attempt?? envy envy...me going for 3rd attempt this early Aug... abit regret coz feeling a bit like humpty dumpty liao...my sis says my chances nt high wor...likely to flunk again :p

shelled

oh dear... poor joshua..hope he's ok now.

mamato6js

so u bought your bugaboo already. keke.. wah, u sure bought a lot of canopies. maybe sometime down the road, i might get another colour canopy too for mine.
happy.gif
i wanted the cup holder, but its outta stock. my hb is thinking of getting the 'nest' but i think it might be too hot in humid singapore.

washing baby clothes
has anyone started washing all their baby clothes? hb says got to wash EVERYTHING with the baby detergent.great! keke... i know i dun buy so many clothes. kidding!

preparation for all baby stuff
i think we've more or less prepared all the stuff our little one needs. been playing around with the breast pump. 1st time mummies, if you've bought your pump already, you should start to play ard with it, so when the time comes you're familiar and dun need to be reading the instructions manual.

girly> dun really like 2nd hand cars.. ahha..dunno what previous owner did to it..
somemore its a lot of money we are talking abt.. i prefer 1st hand. heheh.. :p

kiki> got it!!

Just PMed you Floralim's email address. Please check!

Yup. I agree you &amp; your hubs have more justifiable reasons to get a car. As for us, more for frivolous uses lah, so it's really just a luxury transport option. And my hubs refuse to drive to work citing ERP and parking costs in town as very "stupid". And I haven't got my license yet, so gimme car also no use. End up even if we buy a car, will be parked there 80% of the time. Even if get OPC also kinda stupid, cos we only go out for a few hours every weekend cos my hubs also tired from work and want to rest at home. I think down the road when I FINALLY go get my stupid license, then maybe will buy a car so I can be "bus driver" and send my kids to school or something.

<font color="ff6000">Gina</font>
What kind of cot are you looking for? I think I read before that you said you looking for second hand? Let me know your budget then I help you keep a lookout as well.

<font color="ff6000">kiki</font>
He's ok now. Never get disfigured. (Heng arh!)

I'm done with washing the hand-me-down clothing. The new clothes and other stuff like bedsheets/towels/burp cloths I haven't started yet. I just put a bit of baby detergent and throw into washing machine. Very fast one lah. 1-2 loads can finish everything liao unless you really buy alot alot. Cos their clothes so tiny, 1 time can wash many many lor!

KIki
i be gettg my cup holder in 2-3 weeks time when the shipment comes tog with my parasol from mothers work. maybe u can go ard that timing too. and silly cup holder alone cost me $45!

Ling
i get what u mean. i find combi v low too for my height, esp if i wear heels! most of the time my maid will push. combi is great for travelling purpose cos its so light and compact. my combi has been with me to many holidays. but not as regular use with babies. my 2.5 yr old gal cant even lay her head properly in it, she looks so uncomfortable to me yet she can sleep in there for 2 hours when she gets real tired from walking. i put her on the buggagoo whoo she loves it and somehow her sleeping position so much more comfy. im quite particular abt a stroller reclining ability. i click ur stroller link it leads me to a taiwan website. its made in taiwan?

Flower/Girly
for me i put newborns right into the car seat when we discharged. i dunno, maybe its a habit of mine lah. but i suppose u can swaddle and carry the baby first time but try to get car seat asap cos the earlier u accustom the baby to car seat the better. u wait longer they may not want to sit in it! babies r smart!

hb been so nice sending the boys to school these few mornings for me. now i gg back to zzzzz till my gal need to wake up for school!

hi all morning! Can I check if I have extremely swollen feet that I canT feel my right last toe, will I be hospitalised? I have brought forward my appointment to today already. Now resting at home, waiting for appt at 6.20pm.

Rach
Thanks for the info on Cabinets! Very useful, save me a trip down to the Giant and NTUC. Can I ask if the Algo cab is stable when stalked on top of each other? Dun want the whole cab to fall on bb when he starts to crawl or walk and pull on the cabs.

mamato6
Wow, can imagine when your family goes out, it's like a mini entourage! Perhaps you'll need to get 2 cars :p

itsy
actually we have more than 2 cars at home but the prob is, when we go out as family its impractical to be driving 2 cars out isnt it? like separate families :p although sometimes we do that cos there r occassions hubby may meet us after work and i will just drive the kids to meet him.

seems like many of u r buying the 4/5 tier cabinets? i managed to squeeze a lil corner in my boys wardrobe for baby! phew! and i have washed all his clothes, now left digging into my store room for all the rockers, breast pumps etcc..

maclaren is not bad. i have many frds using

anw from Traffic Police Website.

If my friend has a kid who is below 8 years old and they want to hitch a ride in my car and my car has no child seats, will I be penalized if I were stopped by TP?

All private vehicles that come with seat belts will have to abide by the seat belt rules so if you have a child below 8 years old travelling with you, you will need to have a child seat for him. Generally, our officers will exercise flexibility if such rides are infrequent and on ad-hoc basis. However, if the rides are frequent or regular, it is advised that you discuss with your friend on investing in a child seat.

What have you guys done so far?
I haven't wash any clothings, haven't got name for bb, haven't pack hospital bag, haven't got diapers etc, haven't got cabinets for bb clothings, no pumps, no ... ARHHH Panic! BB please dun pop so early! Mum's still busy!

anybody bought double breast pump yet? i took mine out today to try but the motor seems a bit weak already. wondering to get the motor serviced ot just invest in a new pump. my medela has served me for 5 yrs already!

mamato6J
You can compare the price for servicing and getting a new pump. % yrs, I'll most prob buy new one.. esp if you're expecting 7th, 8th and 9th Js :p

Gd morning! tmr is friday! yeah yeah yeah..

itsy.. high five haha i also hvnt got things prepared yet! just managed to ask my helper to clean an old cabinet to put my #1 clothes so that the current Toyogo one can be used to put #2 clothes.. once done will start to wash the clothes.. kept thinking its long way to go.. suddendly two mummies popped already then started to feel so gan jiong!

Itsy
yeah i was thinking might as well grab new one! haha... i think if have so many i will soon run out of J to name my kids!

hub just redeemed some robinson and tangs vouchers for me. does robinson sell medela?

mamato6...

If u find it low, It'll be even lower for me cos I believe im taller. Can check with shelled.. haha.. she's seen how tall I am.. lolz..

I tot its a prdt of taiwan too.. but the sales girl told me its from Germany. Other countries are having the same prdt but they name them differently. Unable to find a pic of it except from that taiwan webby...I also duno la.. Hubby is not bothered by where its from.. He saw, he like, he paid.. heez

I've seen Medela at Robinsons Orchard...

Hi mummies,

long time no input but been listening to the discussion here.

was wondering if you feel any slight numbness near the rib area. i suspect my bb is in breech position, and hence bobbing on the rib (snuggling well under my right breast). but i feel abit of numbness in that area for quite some time already... abit worried. the left side normal thou.

ling,
can help me update my edd?

my gynae has been using my cal edd instead of the scan edd for the past 2 appts...

so i guess i am using back the old edd...

my edd will be 24 Aug...

<font color="0000ff">shelled></font> yup.. i got her address..thanks..
happy.gif

hahahaah... do u need to be bus driver???
u still not yet close shop ah???
hehehee..or u aspire to be like mama6??
hehehehe..
happy.gif

Ya loh... now i got licence.. HB no licence...
so... when got car also i fetch him ard..
hahaha... but he's beginning to contemplate a bit to get a licence la...
he used to believe in taking cabs... but the fares are like getting so high nowadays... its crazy to take cab during peak hours..
hehehe..the good thing abt our job is we can leave home anytime..hence avoiding the morning ERP alos..
and my home to my office no ERP.. hehehe..
just that parking is an issue...coz office there the carpark is $2+ per hour.
No season parking..coz its limited parking space..
sianz....
unless i park at newton circus...with the coupons....man... tedious....
so ya lo... see how... haha.. :p

hahha... i havent wash anything yet.. i'm waiting for my cabinets to come first...which means i need to go and buy first..
then after its set up...then i wash... hehhee.... so tiny..dunno how to hang...
later all fly away..... hahahahha...i think 1 load can wash everything also la....
mum just bought a 8kg washing machine... hehehhe...very good lo....
hahahaa.....

<font color="0000ff">Moojenn></font> yah.. i was wondering who is that....coz i usually look at the nick.. not the userid. haha..

thanks thanks..
can give me ur contact as well? thanks..
happy.gif

<font color="0000ff">fifi></font> did u walk too much? drink enough water??

happy.gif

Jiayou!!
happy.gif

<font color="0000ff">itsy></font>
Mmm..to me is stable...coz in between the stacks, there's a flat transparent base also....
if u look at the pic carefully, there's like a top base and a bottom base before u stack....
or if u want..PM me... i email u the original photos(taken with my handphone) but decent enough to zoom and look at some details..
happy.gif

of coz i would expect u have something on the left and right of the cabinets..and not standalone there la.. hehee.. :p
Unless bb is so strong to topple over the whole cabinet... hahahhaa....

I'm looking for cabinets as well...so since i was free yest, i just pop by Giant and since my dad was home early....
we went out for dinner and i managed to psycho them to go AMK.. hahahahaa... not much effort la..
we all sick of the food ard my place liaoz.. at least we went to somewhere new for dinner.. kekke.. :p

ooh... i've bought the clothings..have some handmedowns.. but i havent pack hospital bag as well...
and i've bought diapers too....
why are u not buying anything yet?
tight budget or no time to buy? hehehe..
u can see now why we have so many BP going on and we are buying like mad.. hahaha.. :p
Hopefully today or tmr.... maybe can drop by SSC to get the cabinets.. hehehee.. :p

<font color="0000ff">mama6></font> haha..coz we have no more space for bb liaoz...definitely need another tier cabinets la.. hahaha...
my HB and me are sharing MY wardrobe..which is 4 feet wide okay....which only is 3 feet of clothes..
the right 1 feet is for my cosmetics and bedsheets etc....
can u imagine 2 adults clothes into a 3 feet of hanging space????????????
below the hanging space, are stacks of fold up clothes for home wear...
hahaha.....both of us are already fighting for space laioz..
been like clearing our clothes every now and then..

i cleared all my pre-preg clothes to make space for maternity clothes..
now i'm clearing those maternity clothes that i never even wear before since hanging there..
all my maternity clothes were hand me downs.... only a few pieces bought by my mum...
hahaha..she's nice enough to buy those $10 per piece top..which is decent enough for me to wear out la....

Somehow i'm not very particular about maternity clothes....
can wear can liaoz....maybe the mentality is just 9 months.. no need to be too fussy.. hahahaha... :p

my coll bought Medela Pump in Style for $500 2nd hand from someone from forum...
original price is $700 plus.....
GSS over soon....else u can try to get 2nd hand???
otherwise... if u gonna get new one and not having any more kids... abit wasted also.. hehee.. :p

<font color="0000ff">berrypie></font> ermmm.... u can opt to do it at ur own expenses if u really want la..
coz we saw the post on that particular day..and the slots were really taken up real fast loh.. hehe.. :p

i think the lumps are due to the milk ducts.. dun worry..
happy.gif

Ling

rach, i walk quite alot due to work. hmm.. but i did put 2 stacks of pillow when sleep, drinks lots of water, avoid salty food.. but still the same.. in fact getting worse.. it have been happening since my 5th mth pregnancy.. now in 32 weeks.. it gets worse.. i want to request from my gynae to be hospitalised. so that i can rest in hospital.then can take hl.. anyway mc also no more le.. what do u think.. my doc is john tee (kkh)by the way

Rach
I read some time back that there's going to be another Taka BB fair on Aug, so I'm waiting for that lor. Is it confirm? If not then siao liao cos I'd have missed the GSS too. I've quite a lot of hand-me-downs for bb first 2 months, Just need to get all the daily essentials like bath and diapers etc... actually these seems to add up to quite a bit of things. I just shifted to my new place and just did reno and bought new furniture so I'm on super tight budget now. Furthermore must budget for hospital bill... wah siong ah!

Dear mummies, very surprised to hear that there are 2 mummies giving birth already...Congrats to both mummies and take care!!

Just wanna check with mummies here who have done lots of shopping...have any of you bought diapers? Which brand did you choose? I happen to read somewhere about this Goon diaper, heard it's not bad, so thinking of getting them.

http://www.diapers.com.sg/home.php?cat=1

Any comment from any mummies?

Also found a website that sells some baby stuff, i havent bought any from them though. Mummies who are interested may click on the link,
http://www.gmarket.com.sg/challenge/neo_category/category.asp?gdlc_cd=100000024

Read through the post just now, noticed that most mummies have bought the stroller. Me and hubby alreday bought the Graco stroller from Robinson. We've checked out Combi, Mac Claren, and Capella. In the end, still buy Graco. We think that Graco is sturdy, but it's quite heavy...
