SOrry! It's me that's 'par jiao'! According to the website, the average weight is at 1.05 kg.

I'm honestly not too sure, but my gynae wasn't the least concerned and said it was a good weight.

This prompted me to go round on various websites to see what the expected median is. The avg weight ranges from 1-1.15 kg. The disclaimer though is that gender will also determine size, with males apparently weighing in more; and also that all babies are different and it's always best to check with your gynae. Reckon you could ask your gynae about his/her concerns. That will allow you to understand the situation better.

What! Motorbike? Wah seh! U really brave leh. Judging from how I see ppl ride on the roads these days, I'll say that a car is a better bet. Else, public transport. That said, I understand how troublesome it can get with the public transport system.

Hardly anyone gives way now, not even to old folks and pregnant women. So often I feel like using my umbrella to beat the fella who's sleeping in the seat!

Actually By LAW, We cannot carry our baby in our arms when in the car. But sometimes it's inevitable... Like BF for instance... So maybe I'll just get those cloth slings till about 9mths then get the bigger carseat for them. ( And pray TP don't stop us ) I heard Britax can sit up to 7yrs old. 400-500. Worth considering.

u can only get it at mothercare. can view it at mothercare harbourfront. whats so special abt this stroller is that it can rotate 360 deg and its labelled as a hollywood stroller cos the hollywood moms all using it. but i went to test it, no big deal lah and very cumbersome and heavy. it doesnt cost 1.7k ok its abt 2.3k incl of stroller, carseat and bassinet. in the end i got the buggaboo chameleon which hubby absolutely loves. i can mix and match colour but its equally bulky lah except i think its slightly lighter.

I saw them at the Baby Kingdom where I bought my stroller.

When the guy showed us the car seat and the picture of a toddler to a 7 yr old kid. Me and my DH "WAH! that's a big kid". Like big enough to wear the normal car seat belt.. Or maybe because the kid in the picture was a Caucasian and they tend to be bigger in size. XD

Saw it at Mothercare in Marina Square. HMmm... I think it's not worth the value. The most I'll go is with a Peg Prego, Combi or Inglisna (however does one spell it). I think the point of a stroller is for baby to feel comfortable in it and for a safe journey.

Paying so much for looks and inconvenience... that's something that defies logic esp when money can be better spent.

Just my two cents worth...

To me, I feel I want my baby to feel cool and comfortable in the stroller.

My DH's brother had a Capella, that's why I wanted to get one too. But then their daughter always perspire and cry inside. ( Because she scared of hot, very easily agitated ) They say hot and put fan in front of her, We will buy the Combi because it has this Air Through System and a flap we can open to air their back. Especially when they lie there for some time.. It's like how our chair gets hot when we sit for too long.

I have to agree Capella is more sturdy, But with sturdy comes the weight. Which me and DH cannot take much of because his back broke before and I have cervical spondylosis condition on my c6 and c7 disc of my neck.

Carseat is COMPULSARY by Singapore Law. So cannot don't buy arh. We also got a carseat for my #1 even though we don't drive more than once a week.

I can't agree more about the sad situation. But I must mention that since I crossed into my 2nd trimester, I get seats EVERY TIME I take the NEL (North-East Line). Oddly, once I switch over to the other line to head towards Orchard, everyone is reading papers, sending sms, sleeping, etc. I have no idea why this is so, given that I was travelling during peak hour and both trains were equally crowded. Granted, the NEL is hardly ever as sardine-packed as the other lines, but it does seem that NEL passengers are more compassionate.

So there I was, holding on to the rail near the doors, with my tummy sticking RIGHT INTO THE FACE of this woman who was in the RESERVED SEAT. She still can pretend she never saw my hugeass tummy. Worse, she shot me this look that seemed to say: "Pregnant big deal meh?! Get your tummy out of my face!" But the train was jam-packed and I had no choice but to leave my tummy directly IN HER FACE for the next 2 stops until I got off. If I had to go a few more stops than that, I think I would have just asked her to give up the seat to me.

What's funny is also how none of the other passengers even tried to persuade this woman to give me the RESERVED seat. It IS a "special seat" afterall, but everyone just acts dumb lah.

And yes, flower4 is right. If ever I wear heels out, I can forget about getting a seat. Somehow a pregnant woman wearing any form of non-flat footwear deters people from giving her a seat. I have no idea why.

That's what my hubs and I said when we were expecting Josh as well. But then when the kid arrived, we felt the money could be put to much better use elsewhere. Like a good family holiday for the 3 of us, or just to improve the daily comforts and luxuries that we can all enjoy. More yummy family dinners in restaurants, stocking the house with better quality food and snacks, etc etc. A car is a liability and definitely depreciates in value even if you only own it for a few months. We feel it's just not worth it at this point in time. In any case, it's not as if we really need a car for practical purposes. The carsharing service serves its purpose well enough whenever we want to a car for frivolous purposes or for running errands like buying furniture from IKEA.

haha..ok so u riding pillion..for a moment tot u riding the bike urself...juz like my girl fren, who even do so when she was preggie...the funny part is her hub the pillion!! once when they stopped at the traffic light, her hub gt strange stares fr drivers next to her bike. And tat is the last time her hub become the pillion of her bike...HEEHEE...btw, she've gt both bike and car licence bt her hub doesn't haf any...

yes yes teeth can be so hardy, once my eldest gal had such a serious fall, tat her her front tooth gt push back into her gum!! when i saw so much bleeding and cldn't see her tooth, nearly fainted!! searched frantically for her tooth on the floor to no avail and later realized tat the tooth is still in her, bt inside the gum instead...she was 3yo then...eventually, it grew out again after abt a year or two...can imagine the pain??

And my 2nd has a chipped front tooth fr a fall. when i saw tat her tooth has chipped, tried to search for the chipped part on the floor. guessed what?? became powdery form....like flour like bb powder....

So...*Jul*...nt only chor lor boy with clumsy parents will have such accidents wor...*HEE* think as long as it's children, bound to experience this kind of accident at least once, hurt mouth, hurt teeth, heads, legs, hands and it cld happened in ways in which we cld least expect...one word: UNPREDICTABLE!

Your kids sound damn hardy as well! But how did the chipped tooth turn into powder?! It's so... strange. I wonder how much damage that chipped part had to go through in order to turn into powder!

My boy always kenna new scars and scabs on his knees also lah. Nothing to do with being clumsy, just that he will walk walk walk, then suddenly his legs turn jelly cos walk too much and he'll fall and land on his knees in a kneeling position. So both his knees kenna scrapped and scratched very often. I try to let him wear bermudas that covers his knees instead of shorts, so at least his pants can take some impact and reduce the damage. But I think due to all that walking, he's one of the few 2yo kids who can really walk damn long on his own without asking to be carried. All the muscles got good training already mah!

i oso bought the britax royale car seat. check out robinsons. i got mine dere at 15% when i saw bb kingdom say 499 nett.

till i finally one day oso exploded n made a downpayment for a car. hahaa =x but it was a right move. saved nearly 8k from de time i bought to the price car is now. =p

cannot dun buy car seat la. any age below 10 not in car seat, will get fine n points leh.

u take a look at britax. dey can seat from 0mths to 4yrs old. but their car seats are on de higher range. but they are really safe.

de capella s228 not as comfy, sitting abit more cramp for bb. n hubby tried the open close. it's still harder den s705. if i'm not wrong, it's 2 fold instead of s705 which is 1 fold.

wow, think many mommies here are getting expensive stoller fr combi and capella...

currently using the brand 'Haenim' fr korea. 6 wheels instead of the usual 3, 4 or 8. can move the stroller 360 degree on the spot, close and open using single hand, wt wise, nt sure hw many kg bt gt to be heavier than combi bt certainly nt too heavy to carry even for a small built mom like me...

will be getting a new one since the old one has served us for 4years+, time to 'retire', even though it is still usable (dirty liao, can't wash stroller mah, can we??)and of course this time round wanted to get a sweet pink one...

price wise, gt it at S$159, four years back and nw its selling at S$189...value for money...

set law bt never use brain. children nowadays so big size. *mama to 6Js* are u able to find car seats big enuff to accomodote ur twin sons' bums?? my gal can't squeezed her big butt in the child car seat lor...anyway, nw tat she's 9, no nid liao...

in singapore unless driving a 8 seater MPV, otherwise can't have more than 3 kids below 8yo at the same time.

Given this senario (i'll be facing it soon), MOM, DAD, a 9yo, a 4yo, a 3yo and a new borned. tat means 3 car seats are needed for the newborned, 3yo and 4yo... SO dad is driving, 9yo at front seat, newborned, 3yo and 4yo in car seats at the rear seats...that means mom has to take bus or taxi liao lor, right or nt?????????
without car seats still can squeeze lor bt car seats really take up lotsa space...

erhmmm...damn funny....

my boys have not been in car seat since 3 yr old plus leh. they r simply too big size and buyg booster seats is ridiculous too since they can already use the normal seat belt. so they been using normal seat belts since. and my #3 also quit sitting on car seat since he was 4 i think. there is no way i can put car seats in my car lah, already so cramp! esp on sundays when all of us go to church, ie, me hubby 4 kids and 2 maids squeezing in a 7 seater XC90! as it is, my gal gotta sit on my maid's lap hor! only when i send her to school or when we go out as family with no maid i will make her sit on car seat. then with the new baby, i dunno how we r gg out! i think i will let my fattest boy sit in front seat cos i cant sit in front carrying a baby mah, plus i cant let maid carry newborn too (no way!). i cant make him be in the infant car seat cos no place at all unless my maids sit on the roof hehe... but again same scenario, if we go out wo maids, baby will definitely be in car seat. aiyah talking abt car issue i also headache lah! i need to upgrade to a bigger car and the only car that suits my needs is the toyota alphard! but its so huge i wonder how i gonna drive that to send kids to school everyday, i will look like bus driver!!!!! then hub said might as well buy a van, those 10 seater mercedes vito van used for maxi cabs but he would need to take the class dunno what license first!

i think for family with many kids like us can play ard with the law a bit lah. cant be so inflexible right? the ultimate thing is as long as the kids are buckled up and the seat belt dun strangle them can already!

yes do recee ard first before u decide on a stroller. nowadays many choices! i used to love my perego pliko i think it was the best pram ever, but nowadays got so many new choices! my hub said nowadays hvg babies is like a big investment cos got so many new inventions in the market, unlike when i had my first many yrs ago. everything look so outdated!

Oh, so the theory is like that one huh? It also goes to show how unwilling ppl are to give up their seats lor. Cos regardless got difficulty walking or not, pregnant is pregnant lor. From the time I had #1, I noticed ppl are like that already. So if I want to wear heels I just take cab.

We got the red one (Colours). Mine also can change colour de. just unbuckle from the frame and change. but will need to buy the fleece cover of different colours separately. And of cos we didnt buy the extra covers la.. It comes with the bassinet.. 1 frame with 1 bassinet n 1 stroller seating lo..

Where got obiang? We bought it for $688 at the motherhood fair. baby hypermart selling at $888 leh.. Ur bugaboo should be more ex right?

We like the big wheels n the ht of the stroller cos we are very tall ma.. cannot imagine ourselves pushing a small stroller like the combi ones (no offence to those who got combi ah.. just an eg..) We tried to imagine pushing it.. very small n very low for us to reach..

I got mine back in 2002.. that time still no auto driving license de... For me now, I cant drive manual cars le.. I need super refreshers course liao.. cos aft I passed, i nv got to drive manual..

I tink it all depends on u la. Some ppl tink since learn manual liao can drive both manual n auto cars.. so why not? this is the plus pt la.. but some ppl wont be driving or gettin a manual car, so they find no pt learning manual and they tink Auto should be easier since only 2 pedals ma.. unlike 3 for manual.. still gotta learn how to get the clutch biting point..

many ppl got for private cos its cheaper and flexible.. cos u can meet ur intructer outside.. i duno the rate now.. I got mine from school de. and of cos every lesson muz go driving centre to start off.. I paid like $2K for everything.. cant remember exact figure liao.. But thats also cos i passed all at 1 go.. If u need to retake, then of cos more ex la..

weigh ur priorities first lo.. dun just go on impulse... not very wise i feel...
