CORD BLOOD BANKING
i have 2 of my kids cord blood banked with cordlife. never like stemcord. now im in a dilemma whether to bank this baby's cord blood also not. reason being, my hub said bank so many for wat and i was thinking after 21 yrs the cord blood will belong to the child back and what if my kids dun wanna continue. so much money wasted. of course i pray i never need to use any of the blood.

Yah, the Singapore Cord Blood Bank is free because you donate the blood to the general public. You can't get your own unit back.

The commercial ones are expensive. I think unless you have a reason to bank the blood, like a family history of leukemia or genetic diseases, you may need to think carefully about whether it's affordable. In any case, you can use your CDA to pay for it.

Not definitely lah. Both of mine are boys. #1 hardly kick through the pregnancy, very docile. #2 is more active, but still doesn't do actual kicks. More of rolling/spinning around. i think he still moves less violently than some of girls here, seeing how their mommies are complaining about bb being very active.

Sounds like heartburn and gastric reflux to me... He probably just needs some gastric meds to reduce the acidity in his stomach. Also, eating smaller meals (no spicy foods) should help.

Hi Mummies!!!

I'M BACK!!!.. This thread is so fast.. cannot catch up manz.. Please highlight if I've missed anything ya? Will read thru them slowly..

Well, it was a boring trip but at least I managed to enjoy the cool weather for a few days... maybe cos preg.. then cannot do much lo.. walk too much also tired de.. The journey to n fro was not too good also.. Seating was pretty comfy but the 7-8 hour coach ride n pressure up n down the mountain was killing me. My back hurts, butt n ribcage sored.. breathless n nausea too.. I guess partly was cos my gal was brushing thru my ribcage several times that it made me feel so uncomfy. It was a 9pm bus on sun night n I reached 4am the nxt morning. 4am to 1.30pm, we were like nan4 min2 waiting at the hotel lobby... Gotta take queue no somemore.. The no. started to run at ard 11.30am. We were no. 97. Waited 2 hrs also not our turn yet.. We would have waited longer if my mum n uncle did not go complain; saying tat we've got 1 old granny n a preg woman. Then the lady gave us jump queue.. kaoz.. I was pretty irritated with all the waiting.. sitting at the lobby waiting for so many hours.. gosh! Why did i ever wana go... hurhur... We took the 3pm bus yest n only reached Golden Mile Complex at 11pm.. 2pm was my last meal n by the time i reached sg.. I was so damn HUNGRY!!! Hub's fren came to pick us with our car n we drove my mum back to Sembawang, sent his fren to woodlands before we headed for our meal.. by the time we reached home, it was alr 1 plus in the morning.. GOSH!

Ling: you are one tough mummy! You braved through the horrible ups and downs of the mountain! Thinking of the 8hr bus journey, just makes me nauseous. I braved through 3 flights with the last flight back to sg being the bumpiest as we met with bad weather -.- Still have to sign form about my pregnancy every time i fly.

got a scare about brown stains/discharge and tried frantically to feel movements from my princess.. was more calm when i still feel her kicks. By the way, i am making slightly more trips to the toilet again.. think she pressing against my bladder again.

Do rest plenty yar Ling?

Me too.. as bb grows, Its getting more uncomfy for us.. she has alr reached the top of my tummy n her kicks or movements can be painful.. still bearable tho'. Just feels sore inside sinc everything is expanding..

we did. It was a package.. $133 for coach n hotel. The trip was book n planned by my uncle i tink.. we only paid the $. When we reached the hotel, the counters were closed de.. they only start work at ard 9am i tink.. Hubby was saying, nv seen this kinda hotel before.. shouldnt they be on 24 hrs?

BB Kicking
My boy is also kicking a lot esp when I sleep on my left side. Scan 2 days ago shows his head in downward and his legs are on left side. Aren't bb uncomfortable being upside down like that?!? Haha dun they get giddy or something like that??

arrgghh sian.. was forced to take leave starting tmr to next fri leh... that's 6days lor!!!

cos my next door team had 3 persons down on mc with fever and one of their siblings was a H1N1 suspect (still under going testing)!!!

so my boss forced me to go on leave! but i dont have much leave left also.. and i planned to go on leave around 2 wks b4 my EDD... sigh i know it's for my own gd to stay away from office for the time being but having to use up my leave very bu gan yuan lor..

and i tot i can leave immediately with only 1 and a half hr to knock off, she ask me to do this and do that for her b4 i go off.. wow lau.. still tell me i'm high risk better stay off for the wk and take annual leave... super sian lor by her remarks lor...

i only got cough n sore throat. sometimes block nose. keke. maybe juz de normal flu.

gina> tat time ard 5mths tat time i oso discover some staining when i wipe up after peeing. n oso some sign of blood in my urine. got a big scare. called gynae. she say if nxt few times still same, i must prepare to meet her in hospital liao. heng, subsequent visits no more sign of blood. really phew -_-

girlygirly> i dunno leh. i ask my gynae on my nxt visit lo. any idea how much de flu jab cost? most likely if my gynae not against it, i ask de gynae to jab for me.

ur trip sounds more tiring than relaxing hor. but nvm lah at least u get to spend time with hub. i also had a horrible experience first time i took coach up to genting when i was 7 mths preg with my gal. i actually threw up in the coach! all the while i had no prob gg up genting cos we always drive up ourselves. hope u r well rested by now. will u be coming tomo?

I work as a clerical officer in a school and sometimes also need to face the public..do any one of you need to do frontline? do you take MC or leave to avoid it? as students and teachers will come back to school on monday, i was concerned whether I should ask go for a few days leave from gynae as I belong to the high risk group ie pregnant woman? I am now in 25 wks. I was told to protect myself perhaps I should wear the surgical mask N62? if i ask gynae opinion what should i say? dont know what to do le...

My boy LOVES girls! Especially the pretty ones.

How old are your DS and DD? My Hubs also dunwan me to bring Joshua, and said to let MIL come babysit him while I go out. But he doesn't know that MIL shoot me dirty looks and ask me "Why cannot bring Joshua along har?? Go out and eat only, right?" if i ever want to go out without him. So forget it lah. Just bring Joshua along. I can't be bothered to deal with MIL.

i think u should not be too worried cos all schools have adopted MOE strict rule abt screening all the kids at the gate. i hope ur school wont station u at the gate? if not then u r still quite safe. schools also wont allow kids who had travelled and come back on or after 22 june to be back in school, unless their parents r not honest to declare. i think there r bounds to be such parents around cos they r ks and dun wish for their kids to miss any lessons in school. but if u still worry no harm wearg the n95 mask lah, just that its really hot lor and u also gotta change the mask every 8 hrs.
