if kobe beef is ex... should check out the king crab! they think we are cai tao!!!

Mashy
cow's tongue is not ex mah? since one cow only 1 tongue...

Hahaha .. i can't really answer your question cos all settled by my hubby
happy.gif
. I know that he changed S$1.5k for the 2 of us, and i secretly changed $300 (hahah .. my 私房钱 in case i want to buy something nice for myself). When we came back he still have 14000yen left leh.

We din really buy much stuff as u can from the pics i posted in my fb
happy.gif
and for our meals there, we normally look for those which is below 1000yen de. So that prob explains why he still have leftover.

sharon

happy.gif

finally free to come online again....
Japan
Think i'm the next leaving. also haven't packed yet. intend to pack this weekend to see if can squeeze everything into 1 luggage. very low chance. i'll be leaving on the 29th 5+am flight. will reach tokyo at abt 2+pm. going disney on the 1st. anyone going on the 1st?

mashy,
your daily meals budget is for the whole family or per pax?

piggy,
we also bringing abt $1.5K for 7 days. but yday or the day before, my hb said wan to change a few hundreds more.

donkeymami,
how many days will u be in japan? there're indeed some very ex eating places but there're some economical ones as well. we liked the small local food places more than those high end ones. we also had tempura at some ex places. cost almost SIN$300 for 3 adults. i wanted to faint then.

i remembered we spent abt $500 in disneyland the last time. we were shocked at the end of the day. other than tat crazy spree, we dun really shop for clothes in Japan. more of buying toiletries & some make-up. haha! we spent a lot of time going into different drugstores even though they sell more or less the same things. i dun really like japanese titbits. find tat they look nice but dun taste nice. but their food is really YUMMY!!! i love their ramen & this particular black pig cutlet in hakone!!! so far still can't any in s'pore tat can match these 2 i've eaten.

i've been waiting to ask this but keep forgetting. are we allowed to bring water bottle for our little one up the plane in our hand carry? cos there's this restriction on containers more than 100ml thing? or becos we have a small one, they'll close 1 eye?

sharon

ok, weekdays fine for me.. u let me know k..

pegsfur
polliwogs at East Coast Park.. i will nit to take a cab there if weekdays..

RE:Japan...
do tune in to CNA's japan hour...
very good info documentry with the info on their local accomodations and where to eat...

RE:disney,
think u gals better prepare more $$...
incase little ones wanna get stuff toys if u happen to visit their souvenir store...
or they might have some "special" event souvenirs..
that time i bought 2pc of their souvenir cups during their "halloween" theme...

RE: other site seeing place...
there are some with those "coin/photo" machine...
good for souvenir too
i remember tokyo tower got 1 such machine...

Zen: for babies they close one eye..

Regg: ck is selling angel wipes again, $1.90 per packet.. John little still dun carry.

Kiki: so how much was that slab of kobe beef in sgd? Over $100?

My throat is starting to react to the haze. Anyone has any baby friendly herbal tea or soups recipe to share? Will the pear with almond thing now
Be
Good?

Zen,
disney i plan to go on the 1st Nov 1 but the halloween end on 31 Oct so thinkin of catchin the Halloween theme..
oh i love the t-bits leh i bott many potato chip n many of the gift box at narita airport n diff flavour of kitkat on Jap have.. u mus know which to buy bah? cos i was in Jap co previously n the guest always bott us Jap food when they came n v niceeee..... not forgettin Royce:p
hmm i din spent much at disney the other time mainly food nice not keen in their nice nice cookie theme leh cos look so so n sooo ex:p

heng i change yesterday n indeed the yen went up again!!! i also intend to change abit more...
n yes i agree the economy restaurant n resonable n nice.. tt time i passby 1 the bento set only abt $12-14 n looks so delicious..

Pegsfur,
hee ya i tink it jus depend wat type of food u wan n how much u wan to spend la can always spend within the budget
happy.gif

Babys,
the Kobe beef i tink is nearly $150 heng i dun eat beef soooo ex...

Zen,
oh i also wan to ask leh cos dunno can bring the thermal flask fill with water anot if maybe jus ask for hot water on board?? so how u bring the milk powder huh?? i find too heavy to bring the tin leh cos Kyler drink so little sure lotsa left over thinkin of container or ziplock bag but scare cannot pass thru. any1 can advice?

Piggy/Zen:

Usually they will request u to drink from the bottle if its in waterbottle for kids... thee last time i brought the hot water, they also let u in when they see the baby... so should be fine... but i prefer to take a empty thermal flask and get hot water on board... :D

Zen

it's per adult. I'm not counting the kids since they will share our food.

If u have kids, anything can for the plane. Just say it's for bb. Altho I think some stricter officers will make u pour the water away and refill on the plane.

Sounds like I'm bringing a lot of money leh. $1.5k can meh? Includes hotel? I have tabled the essential cost like entrance fees, transport, hotel.

Sharon: can i join too? i am in for weekdays.

Polliwogs: i have been there a couple of times... not exactly very friendly for adults who need to run after their kids as the height of their "tunnel" and etc is very short... u really have to crawl after them...

Mashy,
hee i also tabled the essential cost liao my hotel alr paid so the money i bring only for spending... i tink for zen n me prob becos we only travel in Tokyo so travel expense not tt high...

Liz,
ya tt wat i plan also... hahah i wonder is we can get extras kidz meal with us loL~ cheapo me...

mashy, yes i flying on 26 1am flight
happy.gif

Your $2888 is for expenses right? includes hotel? cos u mentioned $5k for for your whole trip. I changed 249,000 yen ($3980)for my 12days trip, oli includes entrance fees, transport & 1 night hote in hakone cos they dun accept creditcard.

Zen, i gng disney on 2nd Nov.

Pegsfur, ya i think it's good idea to tabao eat in hotel esp we travel wif a child...eat out more mafan hehehe

Piggy

true also. Your transport cost already not as much. Oh, my hotel is not prepaid. We only pay when we check in. So abt 900 to hotel. So abt 1.9k for 4 of us 9 days.

Zen/piggy, can bring hot water & drinking water onboard in fact when i fly to HK from changi the security didn't chk at all jz let me to go in wif my bb bag..when i fly back from HK custom detect some liquid in my bag & chk my bag cos i bring some medicine onboard too hahaha...

piggy: can bring thermal flask up, water and formula powder up but only the amount that is required for the flight. So like ur entire container of powder, either u check in or they might throw away at check in.. not allowed.

Some officers might be really strict and ask u to take hot water from airline.

piggy,
i not bring the milk powder in tin cos ethan still on bm. but i do mix some FM in his morning cereals. so maybe i jus bring some in ziplock.

i tried a few titbits in japan. even when frens visit japan & they buy for me, i also dun like. maybe jus dun suit my tastebud. oh, i like royce too!
happy.gif
but s'pore also have so i din buy frm japan.

u know there's this famous hokkaido white chocolate thing? my fren went to search in narita airport & helped me buy 1 box. i tried but i din like it. in the end, put in my in-law's fridge till expire & thrown away. heart-pain. then yday saw at taka hokkaido fair. saw many ppl queue up to buy so i also buy. hope this one taste better. haha! i told my hb tis packaging looks a bit different. so maybe taste better. (self-consolation) haha!

mashy,
$1.5k is not including hotel lah. we already paid for hotel when we booked online, isn't it? u mean you just book & dun need to pay by credit card first?

Zen

I'm going Disneyland on 4 nov.

Donkeymani
wow! Hakone accomodation is ex, I suppose a lot will be dumped there right? Hehehe.

The first trip I went japan, I came back with s$1k! So now I cut budget. If wanna buy more ex stuff then sign card.

Zen

ya. In japan, no need to pre pay for hotel bookings unless I suppose if u book from international online website. Most dun even need the credit card no in case of cancellation.

FM
I bring unopened tin for chk-in cos i gng abt 2wks & jovia still taking 3 times (500ml) milk a day.

mashy, ya we alr pay $100 for deposit so need to pay the balance another $300-$400 ( i cant remember)when we chk-in.

Zen, if i'm not wrong we booked online they jz need our creditcard details to guarantee the booking in case u nv turn up hvnt deduct payment until u chk out. at least for my hotels, not sure abt ur hotel.

Donkeymami,
oh my main concern is more on milk powder cos was tinkin of puttin the powder in those container/ ziplock bag n check in dunno they will check anot keke...

Zen,
alot of Jap tibits is sweet which i also dun like but i like their red bean filling thing.. oh Royce is v cheap ther so i will buy some ther:p the biscuit is Bai Se Lian ren??? i like tt too i tink if u dun like milky stuff u wun like.. but i do buy alot of the potato chips la i like to buy flavour not available in Sg tt y my luggage always end up full with food/t-bits lol~~

donkeymami,
i like hakone!
happy.gif
ya, the accomodation there is ex. but the room tat i stayed in then was super huge! i remembered i paid abt $500 for 1 nite including 1 big spread dinner in the room.

mashy,
ya, we also intending to sign card if we're going to buy some big items in dept stores. but unlikely for this trip since we're travelling wif a small one. think going to be difficult to shop.

donkeymami,

i booked via hotels.com. they already billed to my credit card & my bill is here liao.
sad.gif

mashy,
oh ya, now i remembered the last time i booked direct at japan hotel website, we also paid cash when we reached there.

Piggy: I think quite hard to get extra kids meal. I tried for SQ before but they wouldn't give... Hehe the kids meal was much more yummy! But u can ask for more kids pack! Lol

Piggy, mayb u bring those packet de? i thk frisio & mamil gold hv right? enfa dun hv so i squeeze 1tin 900g FM in mu luggage alr.

zen, ya ard that rate cos includes 1 dinner & 1 breakfast & i heard the dinner vy yummy!

Mashy/zen, my 4k jz for normal expenses if i wan to buy bag i also need to sign card my fren asked me to help her buy burberry bag alr. so thinking to buy when i in tokyo. i heard taka card can use in tokyo taka for some disc right?

I think I'm bringing the most fm. 1.6kg tin coz my gal is a milk monster.

Remember your raingear. Going to be rainy based on next weekend's weather forecast. Get your rain covers and umbrellas.

mashy, ya bring more in case kid dun like solid food at least hv milk for them.

Yup, i purposely bot a rain cover for my new stroller to cover rain & wind when they sleep.

Liz,
ya i am referrin to the kid pack cos for his age they r givin those post weanin meal in those kiddy pack 1 so if the restaurant i dine in he dun like i can use the food in kidz pack
happy.gif

Donkeymami,
Mamil gold have packet 1??? sigh Kyler definitely cannot finish 900g FM lo if can i dun mind bring 1 tin n throw at the end of the journey
sad.gif
