piggy

True lah. If we keep thinking, it'll never happen. We got Sam also b/c I refused to think anymore.

But really.. I think if every 1st baby were like Sam, all couples wud prob stop at 1! Haha

Zen

I booked twin room. Twin room beds are about super single size most of the time. Then push together lor. Not many hotels' double room provide king size bed.

piggy, i see ur sis stay there b4 then ok. B Ikebukuro do provided bb cot but i thk i rather hv more space in the room esp now jovia alr walking she wun wan to confined inside the cot.

Jul,
Kyler can be notti at time too alot of time i will jus leave him ther alone while i go toilet or wat i wun chase after him jus let him walk ard touch wat he wan n only stop or intervene when he approach dustbin etc.. sumtime if u relax abit gave him an enclosed area to explore maybe thing will be easier? maybe put some toy in a room n let him play inside?

DOnkeymami,
Kyler only willing to stay in cot when he asleep at least if he wake up suddenly wun crawl down the bed n fall i tink B Ikebukuro is smaller.. i remember stayin in 1 resort in Hakone for onsen room was twin room but smaller than those hotel double room i got.. so u prob have to take note n even u join twin bed the line in the centre will move so i dun like.. or go for tatami room even better ..

Jul

are u my facebook friend? Did u see my video? It's of my gal chasing after my boy. So good, they entertain each other. I dun have to chase after them. :p so, go for it! 2 are better than 1.

jul,

i totally understand how u feel. cos my ethan is also super active. tat day after the bash, my hb commented that the rest of the babies so guai. haha!

piggy, i stay in a hostel in kyoto wif tatami bedding..but double bed definately out for me kekeke cos me & hubby are tall..jovia not small too lolx

piggy, donkeymami

Coz I'm spending day time at my ILs', very hard to ask them to put everything higher up or to childproof everything or to buy cabinets to close fragile items inside.. So I'm so tired from chasing Sam. Most of the time I wanna let go, but I can't just let Sam take my Ils' clothes out of the drawers & throw all over thf floor. So no choice but to tire myself out. Besides, it's really quite dangerous for Sam, coz he's very hiong & will climb up n down.

Then u know.. if he falls when I'm with him, ILs' will be unhappy that I din 'take good care of him & let him fall'. So it's a very difficult situation for me now. Really looking forward to gog back to work

When I'm at home, I let him roam also. Unless he looks like he'll break something or do something very dangerous. It's much more relaxing for me at home.

mashy

Oh I seldom go into FB. Later I go see. Haha have No.2 for No.1 to look after. Gd encouragement

zen

Hiaz.. Hubs also saying that he was so tired chasing Sam at the bash, trying to make sure he doesn't run over the other babies or snatch their toys or hit them! *shang nao jin*

jul,

sam sounds liike ethan! he can't even walk yet & u know what u did? he climb up onto his toy box to stand up so that he can reach for things on the table. once he even tried to tip-toed & throw things out of the window. he also tried to climb up the chair so that he can reach things on the table. but of cos he failed cos the chair is too high. i see already also scared cos i've so many glass things in my house. not child-friendly at all. and tat reminds me tat it's time to do the window grilles! cos he's definitely not those who can sit still.

Jul

sometimes they do that coz of curiosity. Once u satisfy that, they won't go back again. Maybe u show him the stuff and tell him what those are and who it belongs to. Then u show him his toy and tell him it belongs to him. I read that in a book before. I also let my gal roam freely at home.
happy.gif

Jul,
den y dun u stay at home? my house also not childproof but i will close the door of my room so he only roam ard in livin room he will throw all the controller on the floor so i am trainin him to pick up.. he also throw ball all over the house.. maybe jus bear with it thing wil be better soon..

Zen

u have no window grills? Better get that done quickly. My gal just climbed to the window yesterday. She also climbs everywhere. On the chair, on boxes, onto the table etc.

Dolce and Jul, thanks! I am not brave, just never thought that i would be so lucky cos i been through D/C and long wait before Aaden came about. Strike 4D also never so accurate.

Sharon, yah, just very heart pain to see such a small body go through the sickness. As an adult, i probably would have felt like shit already, cannot imagine how much a small being is able to endure it. Guess we just do not wish to see our kids suffer.

Joeey, got my mil to help me with #1 when i deliver. She is helping with my #1 right now as well.

Roaming at home
Actually i am trying to set boundaries for Aaden when he roam around. Area like kitchen and toilet are out of bounds. Toilet is because my gyane told me that he had this patient who was talking on the phone with her friend. She did not know that her daughter had crawled to the toilet and tumbled into this pail of water. Though the water level was pretty low, less than 10cm but the poor kid passed away due to drowning. Pretty scary story.

Of cos, i have not managed to successfully do it, cos whenever aaden sees me in the kitchen, he would crawl over. Looking back, my HB seems more uptight of the things that aaden touches or area that he venture. Such as, no touching of daddy's speakers, tv set, game console etc etc...hahah...

Zen,
i am bringin over cos Kyler still not v into adult food so will bring some cereal over if not enough buy from market ther.. milk n diaper will definitely bring la.. if not if buy 1 pack of diaper cannot finish i stil mus bring back..

Zen

I'm bringing diapers and milk. My gal doesn't take cereal so not bringing. Better bring than later have to spend time looking for them. And u may not find the milk they are drinking now so better bring. Later they insist they must have that milk. Children behave differently on a hol. Some go on food strike (so prepare more milk), some sleep all the time.

Joycec,
ya toilet is Out of bound area my niece walk to toilet n fall hit her head on the floor kerb end up mus stitch heng forehead..

Joycec

ya, I've a safety gate at the kitchen too. That's the forbidden place and toilet.

Jul
train him to listen to your voice, then no need to run after him?

Zen, i will bring too..diaper i dunno how many i shd bring cos i gng 12days le haha but worry later buy there cannot get then headache..FM must bring cos u may not find the brand here in Japan.

hi mummies,
i hv question, travelling with infants cannot do internet check in? 1st time taking planes together with infants, trying to do internet check in, it does not allow.

jul,

Haha .. now Ovann is racing with me to see who reaches the pc first ... he saw me typing on the keyboard and he wants to play with it too. Same for the remote controllers. When he wants to reach for it, I'll shake my head and tell him "controllers, no no." Then he'd withdraw his hands, and try to reach for it again, but stop and muttered something, and shake his head like i did! So funny.

Anyway, most of the stuff at the living room are already sort of child proof or out of reach cos we've been trained by our dog .. hahah .. we've got a fair share of stuff chewed by our dog when she's a puppy.

Btw, i think it's pretty irresponsible for your ILs to not keep their things/childproof their home. My MIL also has this habit of keeping her door ajar, cos she wants to wait for ovann to crawl into her room. But her room has got clothes rack, hp charger at the floor and what nots. Furthermore, now that ovann is learning to walk, he's bound to use the door as support to help him stand up. He might hurt his fingers or he might fall since the door is half open.

What i do is that, if i know he's gonna crawl inside, i won't go in & pull him back. I'll just let him go in, pull watever he wants, or best, 'kiap' his fingers den MIL will learn. Well, she did when ovann almost pulled the clothes rack and play with the socket when she's charging her hp. Only then she get worried and closed the bloody damn door.

re: roaming ard
most of the time we let ryan roam ard himself
with supervision he can go anywhere except the kitchen
without supervision we close the room doors...confine him to the living room with safety gates...when he gets bored, he will cling at the safety gate and cry for my mum

mashy,
yes i jus realised that too
funny thing is once u allow him to explore by himself...less tendancy to touch things u dun wan him to touch
the more u say no or dun allow to touch...he will deliberately go n touch

jul,
ryan has his share of throwing all our clothes out of the cupboard! hahaa...

zen,
tink u muz really get the grills up fast esp when he is already climbing!

I got problem with letting shayna crawl around..

like pegs, most of the place is child proof liao cos i was trained by my rabbit. but the thing is my rabbit doesnt stand up at the consol and pull the tv wires!!

how to stop shayna from going to the consol, pulling her self up and pulling the wires? how to even stop her from standing so near the tv? turn it off each time she goes near?

and my phone is on the consol too.. She will lift up the handset and press numbers... and her favourite number is 9 and she will press continuously!!!

i tried, put the handset back and let her continue pressing, but she dont want, lift up the handset and continue pressing the numbers!

jul, agree with piggy that you shouldn't think too much and just go ahead and have #2! The more you think, the scarier it becomes. Its not easy in the early days with 1 baby and 1 toddler but it becomes easier with time. My #1 and #2 plays together, and alone in their room so I don't have to entertain them. Those with 1 kid always tell me they are the child's playmate... very siong that like.

piggy,

i managed to book sunroute liao! yippe! now all settled.

only left wif planning itinerary.

are we allowed to bring milk powder into japan? cos i understand that australia doesn't allow. not sure abt japan. cereals ok? my boy eats half a tin if he eats 3 meals of cereals plus other stuff like bread, yoghurt, cheese, no porridge. which means i've to bring 3.5 tins of cereals?! then diapers have to bring 1 big pack cos will be about 7 days. faint! then all his things will be in 1 big luggage?

how many are you all bringing? i cannot imagine bringing so many diapers & cereals there leh. lucky he's not on FM. or else dunno how many tins i've to bring along.

Babys, I hav the same problem with aaden wanting to stand near the tv. Not very good ESP when it's on. Also he is very interested in wires as well.

Zen they make provisions for infant food..

Diapers wise when i went kl i just brought 6 diapers x no. of days of trip plus one extra day.

Zen,
wah u managed to book ah.. but i thot we going abt the same day how come mine fully booked when i check huh weird... so how much u pay??

Sigh Kyler drink v little milk now aday oonly 300-400ml so i gotta add into his meal... for cereal i will only gave 1-2meal will bring those instant porridge n gave him some bread n some adult food.. so i will only bring 1 tin milk powder and 1 tin cereal. diapers abt 5 each day + 1 extra day... i was wondering for infant got extras kg assign anot? cos 1 adult usu 20kg given for luggage thinkin of bring 1 small 1 for Kyler...

re: photoshoot
I juz went choose my pics for the photography session by Sean Lau
so disappointing!
sad.gif

if u all got friends planning to take...pls ask them to compare more photographers
I called to feedback n they say Sean not taking photos anymore...I wasn't informed till I call to ask...I understand that many studios have more than 1photographer but I feel I shld be informed bout the change of photographer before my shoot...double the unhappiness cos I queued 6mths for the shoot
package only got 5 photos..less than 15mins we chose 5 pics..they allocate 1.5hrs to choose pics...no quality pics to choose
sad.gif

Sharon,
oh tt bad... so u din know the PG is not Sean lau when u go n take the pic???

Ladies,
i got 1 question. what the diff between Japan JR line and subway?

Morning mummies,

My nanny told me, if you don't want bb to touch the controller, don't let bb do it the first time. My gal doesn't touch the TV controllers at my nanny place, although she'll want to touch, nanny will say no no, then she'll hold back.

In my house, i put the TV controllers high up where she can't reach.

In the nanny's place, she's trained by my nanny not to enter the kitchen and she'll stand at the kitchen door, wait for nanny to come out.

At home, she'll go into my kitchen cos i didn't train her. I tried to tell her not to enter the toilet but she still does. I'm not as good as my nanny ...

JOeey,
hmm i tink ok to let them touch controller la initially my boi will take the controller out from the holder n throw on floor after i tell him must put back the holder now even thou he took n put n floor when i say ppick up he will understand and repeat pickup n put in the holder.. sumtime mus let them touch n explore bah..

piggy,
yes, you are right, babies need to explore in order to learn. on certain occassion where she takes the controller, i'll ask her to give Mummy or give to whoever is nearby, then she'll give. afterwards, we keep the controller high up.... hehe.

Piggytoh,
I never see sean before so I dunno who took the pics...but I didn't ask on the spot cos we waited 6mths for the shoot liao
after discussion, decide to just take...afterall so many ppl rave bout Sean lau...seriously over-rated
For some set up, u can't even find a pic of Ryan looking at the camera!
