i am also looking ard for playgroup n childcare for my gal when 18mths comes.

there is a new centre open Carpe diem @ hilltop near my place(3 bus stop away). any comments on this ccc. any other ccc to recommend?

Been to character montessori nearby but did not like it. the centre look old and smelly. furthermore when i ask how many HFMD the lady mentioned 0 cases. I dont know can believe or not.

Love the spacious, green n natural environ of carpe diem. any mummies stay near amk ave 5 interested to join them too?

u can try the kinderland yio chu kang if it's not too far from your place. I like that place. But have to put mosquito repellant coz it's in pte estate. But the compound is big and they have their indiv class. So less chance of getting HFMD or other germs.

what is teacher to student ratio of kinderland?
I call Yio Chu kang kinderland 1:8. Carpe diem at hilltop is 1:5 so I think better for the latter.

Playgroup
I'm also having a headache deciding if I should let Sophie graduate from her infant class to playgroup in Cherie Heart or place her in a new playgroup. Reason is because I find that the playgroup not as good as the infant care. When I drop my girl, used to always hear the older kids crying. Also there has been a high turnover ratio for the playgroup teachers.
I have scouted around for another playgroup also near my office and find it more conducive. Only concern is if we do have 2nd one, this playgroup doesn't have infant care so may have to run 2 places. But pros if she remains in Cherie hearts is no need to be on waiting list.

Sleeping at night
Any of your babies sleeping later now as they grow older? Find it so for my girl. She usually sleeps between 9:30-9:50. This week she has been slepping after 10 and once at 11! But think also my fault coz had to work OT. Mummy it, baby also OT and sleep later. But it's been harder to make her sleep too as she wants to walk about or play.
 
Karen:i think also 1-8 right now for their Pre-N classes... Will confirm it and inform again...

I like the environment there cos i feel that the teachers are quite dedicated. Just abit upset with the management due to some incident recently. so im sort of in a dilemma...

Jovia is sick having fever since Thu evening till today..PD said it's viral fever cos her urine test shows normal so could last for few days..her temp shot up to 39+ so worried..hv to feed her medicine every 3-4hrs

ya, he was there 1 yr in the playgroup and enjoyed himself. Too bad the kindy is very ex. If not I will consider it. Also didn't like the principal who came in mid year. She was more interested in recruiting more children until the nos overloaded for a while. When it first started, only had 4-6 kids to 2 teachers. 1 English and 1 chinese all the time. Dunno how's the situation now though.

I'm also giving the trial tml a miss too cos Ovann oso hasn't fully recovered. He oso had high fever at 39.4 last week, but luckily, his temp came down just after 1 dose of the med. Now he's still on off coughing, so dun think it's good for him to join the class tml in case he spread it to others.

Do u still want to attend the trial? Maybe we can schedule another date for those who missed it this time round? But not sure if the 1/2 price offer still available?

GUG Trial
Hi April, thanks for arranging the trial. My girl enjoyed the trial so much that when I was telling the daddy n helper in the car what she had learnt n she went hah hah, hor hor, heehee... very happy. Now she is totally knocked out. Nice meeting u at the centre too and all the wonderful mommies n adorable babies in the class.

many kids are falling sick these few weeks, please take care.
Mine too, both have been coughing for 2 weeks, started using the neubralizer on them every night before they sleep. The phelgm never seem to go off !

#1 had fever for 5 days, took antibiotics and went KK hospital yesterday for blood test and x-ray. X-ray is harmful for the body, kills many cells

Oh no ... really seems like alot of kids are falling sick. Ovann's medicine is going to finish and he'll still not completely recovered yet.

Hope both yr kids get well soon.

GUG trial
Any feedbacks from those who attended the trial yesterday? If it's good, maybe i'll try to schedule Ovann for a trial too.
 
A side note,
my maid rearranged all my medication, put everything in 1 place, accidentally put chlorohexidine irrigation solution (meant for wound wash) inside the neubralizer medication box. If we didn't read the label properly, we would have thought it was saline and needed to mix with the ventolin, atrovent and pulmicort.

Now, i keep all the children's medication in the master bedroom, out of bounds for her ...

there was another trial which we went to previously..(which both hb &amp; i cant rmbr whr it was! haha).. abit similar, but hb &amp; i prefer this.

Dear mummies, i made this for shayna over the weekend and she loved it! Am sharing it with u cos its a really good recipe and think all ur babies will enjoy this too!

ABC Bolognaise:

~ 2 chinese soup spoon of ABC pasta cooked till soft
~ few drops of veg oil and a small amt of unsalted butter
~ diced, seedless, skinless tomato (I used half a tomato)
~ skinned green peas (for more vege and colour contrast)
~ 1/3 finely chopped onion
~1 clove garlic
~ tomato paste (i used a tube form of organic tomato paste. (Can keep for one month compared to a few days compared to canned ones)
~ minced pork/ chicken
~ chicken stock/ water
~ 1 teaspoon of cheddar cheese.

add in the few drops of oil and butter, Fry garlic and onion till fragrant, add minced meat. When cooked, add in tomato and about 1 teaspoon of tomato paste (mine is the double concentrated kind. if urs isnt, then u use ur judgement as to how much to add)

Add in chicken stock and a small pinch of sugar (cos tomatos can be a bit sour) and let it boil for a while.

B4 taking off fire, put in 1 teaspoon of cheddar cheese and stir till melted. Pour over pasta and serve!

i bought this from COld storage. The ang mor supermarkets will have tube form.. i paid $3 plus for this. According to my friend, this is quite a good and established brand in europe/ uk

joeey, its good you checked noticed! No matter how good a maid is, dun think they can be trusted with important stuff like medications etc. When Isaac had to do the nebuliser thing, I would prepare all the medicine everyday and set it aside so that the maid/MIL don't have to do it themselves. There was once I left it them. So my maid opened one bottle of pumicort, and poured out half into the nebuliser. And the other half, she went and poured into one of those tupperware containers which was used for containing food... er, medicines supposed to be sterile leh so use the tupperware container means its contaminated. Can't blame her also cos she wouldnt know. So from there, I kept all the nebuliser stuff in my room and prepared all the doses - dun let her touch.

personally i like GUG prog. my no#1 went thru their prog. as they start phonics. and the venue is great! edric n stanley playing in the playroom till next time slot 4pm, nice meeting all the mummies and babies!
Not sure is Mattea or Keona marvellous she can match the alphabet "F", fatbobo though they dun sit still but she is listening &amp; observing, well done on ur 2 girls!
I will sign up their prog, still deciding 2pm or 4pm.
