fat bobo
heard of attached parenting method {cannot remember the term}

maybe like what some girls her are doing.. all of u sleep in the same room? i got friends who have no beds.. onli mattresses in the MBR.. mummy + daddy + kids sleep together.

joeey,
Haha .. sometimes it's such a dilemma. On the one hand, i'm happy that he look for me for comfort/security. But on the other hand, it's like, why only come to me when he wants something?

Like last nite, he woke up crying very badly and when hubby carried him, he cried even louder and keep on pointing at me. So hubby left him at my side, i din want to carry him cos i was so so tired, plus my back hurts. He cried louder & louder until i really buay tahan, and carried him. The moment i carried him, the crying stop IMMEDIATELY.

bobo,
If u think the bed is not safe, why dun u just use the mattress and leave the bed frame somewhere else. At least it's lower and most prob safer?

bobo,
yes yes, you can try to sleep with them. since we're working mothers, not much time in the day, the only time is at night ...
maybe you can try removing the bedframes, just put the mattress on the floor, safer ...

my arrangement is quite funny one : #1 and hubby sleep on the single mattress, #2 and me sleep on the queen size mattress, both mattresses are together. #1 will usually roll/crawl, sometimes, will end up beside meimei...

when they wake up, they're very smiley, it's nice that we are the first faces they see when they wake up in the morning.

joey
i often cry during #1's time as well. now #1 super sticky to me.. but with this period of maidless again.. i got to take care of #2.. coz she oso reject the daddy.. in addition, i spent more time on housework n the daddy played with him more.. and i did the disciplinary role coz he is now getting out of hand... got one night.. he just tell me when i try to settle him to sleep, "mama, u faster do housework, u go and do housework. i dun like u now. u dun like me so much oredi".. whahaha i walked out of the room crying so hard.

smurfy,
i want to cry too when you write this post ... please don't scold #1 anymore, talk to him, bribe him, distract him, ignore him, so that he'll follow your ways ... sometimes, just let him be alone ...

fat bobo,
cheer up! your girls surely know you are their mama one! maybe they don't know how to express themselves yet. think of unconditional love...this is what we should give to our children no matter what. they know it in their hearts and when they grow older to be able to express themselves, everything will be ok de la

thanks all... thanks for hearing me..n comforting me. :)

sometimes when i fall into the (depression) pit.. i just cant help but to feel lousy, bad, sorry and wat not of myself! thanks to all u.. i will gv myself more time!

my mum reminded me juz the other nite... prolly she's rite in a way.... nw on, it's the time i feel the stress n difficulties to bring up twins le. at least till they r much older when they start schooling.... this will be a difficult phase.

i guess for nites that they reject me.. it's better i just leave the room and not let them cry n perhaps dislike me even more? but i really hope that they will gv me more chances to take care of them.... i happy they happy!!

i tink going forward, my hb will hv even more biz trips..n of cos, entertainments in the evng still stand! sigh.

i do tink of trying for more bbs at times, but im so afraid too. not oni financially will be very taxing.. i oso worried..i cant even handle my girls now....hw to with a new baby?!?

Fatbobo, just to share i will be the one make milk for my gal sometimes i feed her or my hubby...so when she see me she means got food/milk.

so probably u can try to make milk for them? & feed them by urself?

i dun cuddle my gal when she take milk..will let her lie on her bed to drink...like tat u will b able to hold bottles for both of ur gals even ur hubby are not ard..keona & mattea got the habit to hold their milk bottles?

oh my gosh smurfy....

re: placing mattress on floor
i already hv a set of bedframe being put away..that's the bed my girls r sleeping on now. n my hb agreed to take in my MIL's quite new devan (duno hw to spell) n mattress cos it's simmons de.. (hb often hv backache).. n nw hfta put it away agn? haha. no plc to store.. den the other bed, which we bought when we move out into our own hm, took awhile to look for this suitable bed, white frame, with storage area below...so many rubbish can be kept under the bed board... hw n whr to keep it away? bahahha~

but one ting we did not start to let the girls sleep with us initially cos we're afraid they will not be independant to sleep in their own room latr on. it can be quite difficult to wean off the bbs to tog in their own rm de.. (i duno..) den wat if in future we wana hv another bb... can b quite luan..so many ppl squeeze in 1 rm? cos i was tinking if we were to hv another one.. i wld prolly park the cot in my rm le. (unless twin agn... den super high.. i duno wat to do liao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Milk Bottle : hi i got this BIBI brand milk bottle from Toms N Stephanie. just wonder mummies when change the milk bottles, been using the NUK for a year already, very wasteful to throw away

hi bobo,
do what you think you are comfortable with, there's no right or wrong, taking care of kids is like trial and error. ** follow your instincts **
happy.gif

donkey:: talking abt this.. since so many mths back i was trying to train them to hold their own bottle.. so lousy lor.. till now..so big girl le... we still hfta hold for them lor! grrrrrrrr~

keona will hold her own bottle occassionally.. but sometimes, she will start to roll the bottles... take the bottle out, 'examine' the teat, place back.. take out..cover it....n ya.. play with it! mattea did try to hold the bottle for a short period too.. then oso take the bottle out n feed her pillow or bed... oh, n they like to either snatch eachother's bottle.. or try to stuff the bottle into the other's mouth!! then *faint* all the mess haiyo! basically they will just play with it lar!!!!

Bobo,
ya i agree with joeey no right or wrong.. now i tinkin to let Kyler sleep in his own room but scare cant hear him cryin in another room..

fatbobo

2 queen size mattresses in the room.. no other beds :p.. oh my #1 could sleep in his room onz and off he likes now.. with his meimei.. no-issue

#2 sleep in his room alone whenever #1 sleeps with us

ya piggy.. hfta start trying.. else..latr on all bunk in tog bah. if u & hb ok with this arrg.. den still ok. oh, is your hb going to travel agn? since so, prolly kyler can sleep tog still lar....

Piggy, i started jovia to sleep in her own room when she was ard 8mths old...starting i also worry cant hear if she crying or wat...still thinking to get baby monitor..well we still can hear her crying even we sleep in air-con room so dun worry abt this..so in the end i nv buy the baby monitor save the $ kekeke

bobo,
hahah Kyler too chor lor he cant sleep with me 1 i tink he wll roll out the bed n landed on floor.. now he goin to out grown his playpen soon so tinkin of buyin bed rail let him sleep on his single bed but bed rail at ths stage now not v safety for him.. ya my HB might be goin US end of the yr but not firm..

donkey,
icic but his room got cabinet n lotsa thing i scare only mattress not safe n he will crawl out the room n roam ard..

i got a single bed in Jovia room too...i thk not vy safe so i jz let her sleep on mattress..simple yet practical
happy.gif

I also lie the playmat next to the mattress & some toys there..so she will play awhile before she sleep..if she in gd mood she woke up nxt morning she will play by herself too. vy cute to see tat.

my girls hv never slept overnight in my room.. oh, except for keona once niah. they slept in their room since birth, n on their own aft CL left aft 6wks. but for us, they hv eachothers' company.. n ya, i wld say their cry super loud, we shut door in aircon rm oso can hear.

but i understand for a single bb.. especially nw bigger le..more aware of surrounding.. suddenly wan them to be alone in the rm alone..can be scary de.

i tink for my girls.. smtimes when they wake up in the nite.. oso can cry until like so scared.. or watever... kaoz!

piggy:: if ur gona let kyler sleep in his own rm.. muz place some night lights oh.. at least if he woke up in the middle of the night, he wun be afraid.

piggy, i got a build-in cabinet too..so i use pillow to confine the area she sleep...in case she knock her head to the cabinet...wif the playmat so is pretty big area for her to roam ard.

fatbobo, i train jovia to sleep in dark since young cos i saw my cousin's son (3YO)cant sleep if the room is dark.

So now i will switch off the light then give her milk..if she vy tired she will doze off half way..if not so..she will play a while..then slowly when she tired..she will crawl to her bed & dozed off there..then i will leave the room.

now she start walking need to watch her out cos she will walk in zombie mode..so need to keep an eye on her.

my girls' queen mattress oso sitting on floor de.. we do hv 2 bedrails... but we're considering to remove the bedrails. cos the mattress is those thick ones..so already with some height le... the other day mattea juz fell off the bedrail cos the both of them leaning forward against the rail..keona push too hard forward..n down slam mattea onto the floor.

so.. since they already learned hw to climb up n down the mattress from a portion not blocked by the bedrail.. we were tinking shld juz remove the rail or not lor.. at least roll off mattress is lower than fall off the rail! their rm floor is covered with those ABC foam jigsaw pcs de.

yup..hv to closed else she knw she can go out then dun wan to sleep..so i need to condition her in the sleepy mode then she play a while she will dozed off...my ideal plan is give her milk & let her sleep by herself..i tried but she will cry the moment i walk out from the room haha..

even now i stay in the room..i try not to play wif her in case she refuse to sleep..unless can see she's awake then play wif her for awhile.

haha.. dat's hw i describe them when they juz started learning walking.. like zombie!!!!

we oso train the girls to sleep in darkness at nite.. n after they were 1mth old.. we let them sleep in the living rm during the daytime..beside the tv to get used to noises.

i noe of some bbs/kiddos... cant hv the slightest sound de.

oh dear.. so if we wana try to park the girls in our room now.. den my dog cant cm in le!

gosh, it will be depressing for him i wld imagine. with the girls ard.. he already has lesser attention n lesser space to roam le! nw cant even hv his usual prac of enjoying some aircon with us in the nite...

my cadbury boi~~

Michelle,
That is Pigeon’s instant porridge for baby, I bought 2 packets to let me girl to try, so that if we are travelling, we can let them eat that, but the very expensive. One box is S$8.50

Pegsfur,
I don’t know leh, I compared to the home cooked porridge that I normally feed her; the instant one is more watery, and very little …

2D1N still ok lah, have you let your boy try on that already?

shirley,

No leh .. haven't let ovann tried yet. Gonna do it one of these days so that i dun need to wake up early to cook his normal porridge, hahaa .. prob a sunday bah.

I bought 2 boxes ... let him try & see which flavour he likes

Shirley,

I was looking at those light travelling pram too cos we might be going taiwan next year. But for this 2d1n staycation, we gonna use the one we currently have since it's only 2 days.

Where to buy that pram?

Donkeymami: haha! Ur description of jovia walking like zombie so farnie!!

Bobo: just a suggestion.. U were saying u try and if they still want ur maid u'll let the maid take over and go away. Maybe u let the maid jagar but u be around also. Dun disappear.. Cos in day time they already dun see u. So at nite be therr with ur maids, let them get used to u being around. Take care of them together with the maid. Then eventually, ur maids slowly back off. Like u carry they do something else in the room. Then slowly move on to u carry, maid go out for 5 mins. Then come back in and so on.

They want the maid, u cannot force them to undo that and insist they want only u. Just going to make everyone more miserable. Work with the present situation and not change the whole situation totally.

Now i'm curious. Why do u havem2 queensiZe beds in ur bed room?? Ur bedroom must be very big!!

Taka baby fair got sell such lightweight prams. Kidzloft also have but taka fair $10 cheaper. The brand is cosco.

Mother care also got such prams but heavy.
