When I was young, if I got any frights in the day, my mum will give me gripe water.
if you dont have any other remedy at home now, then can give abit to smooth him

Jul
Can let me know which brand / model of the contactless thermometer you want to let go? how much?
I still havent collect the wipes from you yet. Let me know when is convenient for me to do that this week.

Omg .. my pigeon sterilizer is spoilt!! How? Is boiling the only thing i can do now? Just dump all the bottles in for 10mins can le rite?

Hi piggytoh,
Just monitor him closely,he will be fine.
My gfs just shared with me some time ago how their respective babies fell off the bed/playpen several times and they are fine.

Alamak .. hubby just solved the problem for me .. i din add in water into the sterilizer lah! Silly me .... no wonder the 'on' button keeps popping up after 10 secs ... *blush*

piggy,
Dun worry, i'm sure kyler will be fine. Can understand the kind of heartache u said .. dat time when ovann had ingrown nail, i already so sim tiah cos it must be very pain, not to mention a fall.

piggytoh

i can understand how u feel. my boy slipped off from the rocker when he was 3 mths old. i felt really guilty over the incident.

am going on a biz trip and thought of bringing my boy along (5 mths old). Is it ideal for a 5-mth old baby to fly? just worried abt the air pressure esp when taking off and landing.

when feeding baby banana puree, remove the core with seeds as that's the portion that may potentially cause constipation, slice the outer portion of it instead.

Piggy

mine was pretty much an exact scenario as urs. My boy feel off the bed one week ago. Cried loudly hubby carried him then fell asleep. And our bed is high and homogeneous tiles too. For a few days I felt upset over the fall. Thank God he was fine (since it's been one week). So, don't think too much. Can't do anything now anyway.

piggytoh> oh no. hope he is ok. but be careful de nxt time n pls do not leave him in de bed alone again. even 1sec i feel, now tat they have learnt to flip, takes a short time for them to reach de end of de bed. tat y i only leave my boy in his cot if he is unattended

donkeymami> okie. thanx

kikilala/babiesmeme,
i also use latex...only new teats wont leak...after sterilise for 1-2times...it starts leaking again...so i use NUK premium bottles now but still alot of air...dats y i switch to avent previously

piggytoh,
hope kyler is feeling better now

pegsfur,
i made the same mistake before too...haahaa...actually the steriliser quite smart...no water wont work...if it can work then the steriliser sure spoil....hahaa

re: baby flipping
i also always put pillow n bolsters ard him when i put him on my bed...now its not safe...wat else can we do? he refuses to sleep in his own cot

piggytoh
my boy fell off from my bed too last nite.. sigh.. tink he got a fright rather than pain..
i put him in the middle of my bed and thought he still cant flip from tummy to back so i went toilet.. then i heard a sound and followed by his cry.. lucky my bed is not high..

weishy, reira:
thanks...
just check my fb...i am in already...
kekeke...seldom go in to the group to see...

just updated bb's name in the fb discussion topic...

bb outgrowing cot
my boy outgrow his cot already - wondering where to put him to sleep? currently he's co sleeping with us and from feedback here, it doesn't seem to be a good long term solution *i have the eye bags to prove*

thought of the following - anyone can advise?
1) buy a bigger cot - the biggest we found was 145 x 75cm (can also use for #2)
2) buy a playyard and fix it around a single mattress(night)/bumpermat(day time)
3) ruled out playpen cos the mattress support is not firm

any other suggestions?

Sterlising
from what i read, can stop sterlising when bb is 6 mths old - but i still do sterlise the teats/pacifiers by dipping in boiling water for 5 min.

btw how often do you change the teats? till date i haven't changed any as bb is feeding fine with it.

Hope kyler is better now, I think a lot of babies really fall off the bed a few times during their infant phase so don't blame yourself for that. My boy has his own cot and playpen, but sometimes after his shower because i leave him on our bed to change and all that, got one time i leave him in the middle of the bed and surround him with pillows while he was already asleep, so i went to get my hp which is just on the table a few steps away, but i left for 2 seconds then returned back without my hp, cuz i remember my sis and bil told me, never ever leave baby unattended if he is not in his cot or playpen. Even if he still cannot flip or crawl. Cuz my niece fell off 4 times in the past, and out of the 4 times, got 1 time she was lying on the bed and my bil was playing with her, then somehow she just roll herself down the bed right in front of my bil lor, imagine he could see it but when he try to react to it is too late already. not to mention you were not around sure no control over it de, no one wants that to happen, but i think as long as kyler just cried for a while then can sleep then it is okay de, no worries.

That day read this article about the baby died because the maid banged his head against the toilet bowl accidentally when bathing him. Then she was scared and didnt informed the parents, just stuff in the pacifier to stop the baby from crying, the grandma who was there to help out heard the loud crying from baby so went in and check, but since the baby only cried for 3 minutes so the grandma also thought nothing serious then just left the house. So after the baby wake up from his nap he still cries, not the loud type but just continously crying nonstop, and refuse to drink milk.. in the end the maid called the mother like 6 hours later after the incident, the mother asked her to apply ru yi you i think, then returned home another 2 hours later but found the baby still crying and never drink any milk, and when they rush down to hospital the baby died there, think only 2 months old ba.. so i guess what we need to take note is, baby will sure cry after the fall, but we got to monitor if he/she drinks and plays as per normal, if not then quickly go to doctor and check, also if he is crying nonstop then sure something very wrong liao..

piggytoh,
i understand how u feel. cos i'm a very clumsy mummy. always accidentally knock my boy here & there. whenever it happens, i blame myself & got so worried. jus monitor yr boy. as long as he's his normal self then ok. anything not his usual self, bring him to the doc straight.

my boy also starts to flip here & there very fast now. even though we surround him wif pillows & bolsters, somehow he can kick or push them off the bed. so mummies, pls be extra careful. even in the cot also not tat safe. jus yesterday, my dad saw my boy's arms & half body over the railing of the cot. one more flip when he'll fall off the cot. so we got to adjust the bed lower or the frame higher to be safe. and yesterday when i went to get water for him, i found his leg stuck in between the railings, hangin out of the cot & he was struggling.

Morning everyone!
