Lucky I got TV in my room and a player, or else I will die. But so bored also right, back home from tired work only can stay in room. Also made me felt like I am renting a room like that!

SCV is fully control by my PIL for the entire day, so I can only stay in the room.

Another thing is, I love clean environment, but when they came, they love to eat in front of TV, the thing I hate the most is fruits juice stain that ‘eat into’ the floor, making the floor look so ugly. I always told my SIL’s daughter said, when you eat my eat at dinning table, but what I said is like ‘no power de’, because my PILs, SIL also eat in front of TV, and so my SIL’s daughter.

I have been trying lots of method to clean the floor but, no use! The stain is forever there le….

hehe, we also eat in front of tv... And my boy will spill food all over too. Your #1 hasn't started to self feed i suppose?
 
<font color="0000ff">shirley</font>, be prepared when children self-feed. Kai started to self-feed before he turned 1 so could be very messy. Only thing he cannot eat in the room haahaa. But we clean and mop after every meal.

It is marble flooring, specially orange juice.

my boy only have 'chance' to self feed when on weekend, when i am taking care of him.

then perhaps lay a mat or something. It can't be helped. Your boy will be spilling some of these too. It's part of having a kid at home.

had my routine check up last fri. bb is weighing around 1.8 kg at 31 weeks. slightly on the bigger side too!

scanned thru a few unpleasant mil stories. i guess everyone has our own share of it. my mil always restrict us from engaging a CL.
for my #1, i was still staying with her, so no choice. but now moved out liao, thought can engage 1 from indon (my hometown) and ask my mum along here to help, MIL also protest.

really dunno what's on her mind. she said will come over each day to my place to cook for me. after much consideration, i think i won't ask my mum over anymore to avoid conflicts btw my mum and mil. ah.. she's such a pain in the ass!

chintz, that is so ridiculous! And u are living in your own place. If you don't let your MIL into the house, what can she do? U may want to consider engging the CL anyway. Its not like ur MIL will come and help u overnite and that is where the CL is most useful.
 
my MIL askd me to order confinement tingkat cos she was worried she can't prepare enough variety. then after i showed her the menu, she said actually women in confinement need 2eat 5 meals a day, so she'll still come over to prepare my other meals.

problem is, my house only has 1 little induction cooker, no fire stove. so she feels a bit "insecure" abt it.

last sat evening, she suggested 3 times (with 3 diff reasons) tt I should move over to her place...

i love my MIL, she's really caring etc. but i do wish she wouldn't worry so much...

I can write a thick book with the topic of my mil hehe.. she's like that one.. want outsiders to think she's a nice person.. but at the end of confinement she will keep on complaining to us, she's exhausted etc etc.

hb n i can't do much cos she's taking care of my kids while we're working. recently she asked for a maid. at first she loves the maid. now only been 1 mth, she starts to complain about the maid liao.. haiyo.. never ending story one...
 
sunshineG, i heard the confinement food portions is very big leh... doubt u can eat anymore meals ur MIL prepares. Ask her to prepare snacks for u instead...

Aloe Vera cream I'm currently using for my tummy. I was using moisturiser b/c the tummy gets itchy from time to time. But recently it got worse, even got a few pimply-looking rashes. I just got the aloe vera cream from another spree to try, &amp; it seems to clam the redness &amp; itching. So I wanted to get more to use lor.

So epilator is like plucking lah, except the machine does it a lot at 1 go? Any diff in terms of how long the hair needs to be? I dun mind 'upgrading' to epilator; dun think got time to one by one do next time haha.
 
chintz, so this is ur #2, and your MIL is looking after #1 for you? Then where got time to come kaypoh your confinement cos #1 will keep her busy isn't it?
 
jul, ur aloe vera cream can also be used for diaper rash i believe. I use aloe vera gel for all my girl's bruises, cuts, falls and even as diaper cream...

Actually I've only tried the aloe vera cream b4. Hope the rest are ok as well. I have a bad habit of buying toiletries. Everytime I see toiletries, esp if got sale, I find it so hard to resist buying. Weird habit hor?

Then since she is taking care of ur no.1, then tell her lah, since she say so tired, thats why get CL and ur mother to help with ocnfinement now so she wouldnt be tired out...

Ok, ladies, haahaa looks like lots of us have monster in laws, mine is up to something funny again. Dh told me he has something to discuss about his family, thing nothing good again, wanted to tell him I cannot stress now need lots of rest. Think my mil is up to something again, hope they dun make me swear today.

My mum makes it very clear that during my confinement, she does not want my mil to drop by or come by. She also cannot stand her.

Speaking of MILs, mine was still trying to get us not to do any reno, but to stay at her place for a few mths, or even a yr until we're ready to move back to our own home, THEN do the reno. Hiaz...

And she made me birds' nest with Korean ginseng powder. I know she means well, &amp; I am appreciative, but I told her I CANNOT take Korean ginseng powder liao. The last time she added it to her soup, I drank liao &amp; was breathless &amp; cudn;t sleep the whole nite.

Last weekend she wanted to cook herbal black chkn soup, I told her I was too heaty to drink. So she said she will cook birds' nest coz it's not heaty. Now she goes &amp; add ginseng to it.

How ah? Hiaz..

Actually aloe vera is supposed to be very soothing for the skin hor? I find it works well for me, coz I have eczema probs.

Aiyah I feel quite bad, b/c she is really trying to be helpful &amp; she is nice to pick bords' nest &amp; cook for me.

But I'm scared of her b/c she likes to do funny things to Chinese herbs &amp; I'm scared she does the wrong thing. BUt dunno how to say.. sigh..

Oh yeah I need to go home &amp; tell HB to drink up the birds' nest instead, coz I really dun dare to drink. What a waste! I LOVE birds' nest leh

the epilator is like a plucking machine... usually 1-2 mintues can "clean out" one side already. Can remove regrowth from about 1-2mm. I also use on legs.
After IPL, the advice is not to shave again as it will thicken the regrowth.
 
oh no! my MIL already told my mum that she wants to come over to my mum's place and help out during my confinement!
aiyo... how? I thought I can escape by staying at my mum's place. The last thing I want to do during confinement is to pacify 2 old ladies!

so far I have no "episode" with my MIL, but I dont want to start... recently she will surprise visit me at my mum's place and will bring alot of oranges... but I already told her that I cannot eat orange from young. I also paisay when she see the huge pile of leftover orange!

Luckily my HB knows I cannot drink lah. SpHe also kept telling her not everyone can take "bu" even tho it's super expensive good stuff. But since she made liao, bobian lor.

Think the next time she wun put the ginseng powder liao lah. But u know, MIL can be stubborn one lor. So if she does something funny, we just try to mitigate on our end lor.

But truely, she's not bad lah. Just that she has her own funny ideas sometimes, which is very hard to put off. Everyone of us also got our views abt something lor.

Aiyoh.. but seriously, abt things like oranges, if she persists in bringing, bobian lor. Just throw away. What to do?

But regarding the helping out of confinement, uh oh.. I also dunno what to suggest leh.

One way is to let her tire herself out then she will give up?

i also told my MIL not to add anything to the bird nest...cos in mrs wong's class, she say dun add any chinese med to bird nest so can absorb the full benefit of the bird nest...told my MIL liao but she still add, in the 1st place i dun eat such chinese herbs at all one...ginseng n pao sheng, etc....tell her so many times...she still do it her own way....tink she is trying to be nice, but juz make me v pek chek

i told my MIL i wan use diapers for my bb...she insist muz use cloth diapers n bought cloth diapers n liners liao....now dunno wat to do...if dun use...she is goin to haf things to say again

Haha yeah lor. Sometimes they must do things their way. what to do?

MIL keeps thinking that I dun dare to take Chinese herbs, but it's b/c my body cannot take it.

Last time she will cook bazhen every mth. Unfortunately she doesn't use the proportions given by the med hall. She will add more dangsheng, red dates etc whatever on her own. End up I drink liao, I will pengsan every mth. Coz not suitable for my body. Prob too strong liao.

U know, I stopped drinking her bazhen for 2 mths &amp; I got preggie, dunno if there's any connection haha.

Then she likes to make liang teh all the time. Actually my body can only take "run" things like barley. Sigh.. dunno how to make her understand that every body's body type is diff. Cannot anyhow brew this brew that. But she still insists.

but bird nest so ex n good for bb so i drink but really dun like the taste wif the ginseng n pao sheng

I also think like you. I am like a tenant in this house.

Another thing is my MIL likes to compare my girl with her cousin(boy) who is 1 day older. I learned a from newspaper, NEVER COMPARE Siblings or cousins cos they are all different! they just cannot understand. sigh.

Jul, yes. my MIL also think her daughters' body are better than me. When I have my girl, she always said no BM mean no BM.... until i am so moody &amp; really no BM. This time, I will try my best to BF. But 1 thing, she is a gd takecarer for my girl.

My MIL also like to compare my boy with his cousin who's 2 yrs younger. Kept saying how big his cousin is and how skinny my boy is. sigh...

hehe, my parents are the ones who are like tenants in my hse. They keep to themselves, even hang their clothes in their room. Until many pp who come by our place (aircon service man &amp; other mech pp) thought they're tenants.

that's great! I'm waiting to buy a hse too. After confinement etc. There're so many pp viewing my area over the weekend. Wonder if it means that pp are back in the mkt. I'm so afraid that i can't sell off my flat coz it's low floor but yet relatively high valuation (which they can easily get a high floor at another older blk).

Ask u gals a question. Will u pay higher for a low floor, relatively new flat in a convenient location with full length windows or will u rather opt for an older blk in the same estate with bigger floor area &amp; high floor too?

that's what i thought too... Just wondering will there be anyone who will actually opt for the new flat, low floor. Altho my flat is low floor, it's unblocked and faces a garden.
 


i opt for the older one, cos bigger floor area.. and didnt opt for the new ones cos full length mirror.. it may look nice but its a killer household chore!! hahaha....
