irene, ha ha, yes i know what you mean. I also like the nice presentation of the food in hospital cos it comes in all these different containers.

It probably depends on which menu you choose from, cos like between the western and chinese breakfast, usually western breakfast is nicer. The western set got lots of different things like eggs, ham, fruit, juice etc. But chinese breakfast only porridge and tea leh...

Reira, the milk will go straight into the filter and into bottle mah. The tubing won't have milk one.

reira, the milk goes through the funnels directly into bottles. The tubes are for suction purposes.

mashy, I was eating like a pig also in the hospital, always super hungry. Yes yes if co-ed I gotta aim for Ai Tong or Kuo Chuan Presby. We really gotta think whether we want all 3 kids to go to same school. My hb from Catholic High, so if no other options, then my #3 can just go there.

The last 2 times I give birth at 10.30am, I told the nurse in the delivery suite, can you make sure my lunch is ready when I reach the ward?? And the nurses kept asking me sure or not, cos I had epi and they were worried I would puke

is it? dun think so leh. Maybe it's due to me starving the day of her delivery. C-sec so have to fast whole day. SOmemore after that also cannot eat. The nurse gave me a cup of ginger tea a few hrs after my c-sec, i was like gulping it. Then she forbade me to drink anymore after half a cup.

But i never vomit...

she was screaming her head off. But now ok, coz she's sleeping. She really didn't like it. And that poor gal is flaking.

According to the instructions, i can't even apply any cream/gel for her.

yesterday, i shared the bf room with an angmo, her 10 day old son was gulping on her breasts. IT was so loud, can really hear the 'grup, grup'. And he cleaned out her breasts in 10mins flat! Amazing! She told me her elder son even better still, 2 breasts in 10mins.

maybe u should check with your gynae? It's better to just do a scan to be sure coz we can't tell u what's happening inside u.

I'm also always looking forward to meal times when I stayed in hospital for dengue fever. Actually I also ate up all my food on flights also! Most people I know though I'm mad cos hospital and flight food are suppose to be lousy!

yah, that's why i decided to rent the machine instead. At least i get to watch her all the time. I heard that in the hospital, they not very 'ren dao' in order to meet the amt of time they spend under the phototherapy light. The bbs could be sleeping in their poo for long hrs before they take them out to clean. And they won't feed until they cry for milk too. Very poor thing.

kiki, I also always eat up all the airline food!! Whether nice or not. Cos always hungry when on the flight. Besides the portions so small.

even the porridge is nice. hahaha. I finished up a huge bowl of porridge on the 1st day after my op. When my hb came to visit me while i was eating, he said i was like swallowing all the food whole without even bothering to chew & so kan cheong to finish them up. hahaha.

haha for me i always wear the same clothes de... once i like a few certain clothes, i will keep wearing them and it is hard for me to buy clothes pre-preggie cos fat mah. hopefully after giving birth can actually slim down then get to buy more clothes

oh no, i switch it off at midnight. Coz need to monitor her if she's on it and need to feed her to prevent dehydration. Actually, both my CL and me dozed off at abt 10.30pm last night. haaha. By the time i woke up, it was already 12.30am.

I also noticed less movement and went to check with my doctor. Luckily BB is fine, the doctor says that there changes in the type of movement, so we felt that there's less actions but actually BB is still as active.

e.g. maybe previouly we will feel 10 times of twisting and turning a day, maybe now we can feel 10 times of hand / leg movement. So bb still move 10 times a day but it will feel less cos its not so "kuazhang".

Went for checkup yesterday and BB is 3.2kg at 37W3D. Decided to induce on this Friday.

hi i'm also back from checkup.. dilated 1-2cm now, and also positive for gp b strep as well

gyne suggested to induce by end of wk if i dont deliver naturally by then cos i got history of fast labour for #1 and its safer for bb to be born after 4 hrs of intravenous antibiotics in labour.

kikilala, think i will also be inducing on friday evening. y do u need induction anyway?

Think there was some discussion on money cai last week. I went to market today and saw it. I pointed to the seller and asked if that is money cai... she told me preggie and confinement cannot eat too much leh! She say eat already will have "hong" ("wind")

Papaya Fish Soup

Ingredients
1 threadfish tail or codfish tail or even bones, about 1 kg
100g of peanuts or black beans(some are allergy to peanuts)
1 kg of not-ripe papaya
1 piece of tangerine peel (can get a packet from Chinese medical hall)
2 pieces of old ginger pound
9 cups of water (about 1.5litres)
2 tablespoons oil

Seasoning (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon light soya sauce

Method:
1. Soak the peanuts or black beans over night. Drain before use.
2. Skin and halve the papaya and remove seeds, rinse and cut into big wedges. Rinse tangerine peel.
3. Clean and scale fish tail. Rinse, drain and pat dry thoroughly/
4. Heat oil in a wok, when oil is smoking, add in ginger and fry till fragrant. Now include the fishtail and fry till both sides light golden brown,
5. Bring water to boil. And add in all ingredients, cover pot and leave to boil at high flame for 15minutes when boiling. Then change to lower flame and simmer 2.5hours. Taste and add seasoning if preferred.
6. Serve the soup. Cooked ingredients can be served separately with some light soya sauce.

NB: Mummy said that some CL will add some carnation milk to the soup and a bit of dom, but she usually does not do that.

My hubby super cmi de ... once he reached hospital, even food from the cafe or foodcourt he oso won't touch cos he said he simply lose appetite the moment he stepped into the hospital even as a visitor.

The last time i stayed in TMC 1 bedded, i originally told them hubby won't stay overnite but last minute hubby decided to stay & keep me company and we didn't inform them. They didn't charge me extra for hubby staying but no meals for him lah.

my dr never check my cervix at all leh. so I dont know if its ready or not! she never say that its the pre-requesite for induction leh...

i dont know if I'm dilated or not, but there's no brownish discharge... so maybe not.

anyway she say if I decided to induce then it will be done at her clinic. The precedure is that she will insert a capsule into V, then 6 hours later insert the 2nd one. by 12MN I will need to go to hospital and usually by morning will delivery le...

kikilala: so fast it's ur turn, my bb is ard the same weight as u, but gynae said..cervix not open yet, so wun be so fast. Why ur gynae wan to induce u?

papaya soup
If you are adding peanuts, the trick is to boil the peanuts once first (just put into water until boil can already) and then drain the peanuts and add into the soup to continue cooking.
The last time I didnt do that and my soup is purple colour after cooking for some time.

yesterday night and today, zachary moves a lot leh... especially yesterday night. as if he was telling me that "mommy i wanna come out". cos he never move so much before de... i also notice most of the time when i talk to him, he will actually react. like i cannot feel any movement, then i just felt like talking to him and he will start moving gently immediately.

congrats!!! =) so excited for u! my gynae got the same worries as yours! but zachary is 200g lesser than your boy tho. hopefully i can "tong" one more week.

we decided to induce as the bb is getting quite big and I'm small... dr says its difficult to predict also as she got mums who is like my size and can deliver 4kg bb and there are mums who are 1.7m and cannot manage a 2.8kg bb. But she say that chances of delivery naturally is higher now as compared to later when bb is even bigger.
