Where's Safety 1st?

mashy, ha ha, its good they are afriad of the teacher so at least the teacher can control them
happy.gif

pegsfur... yah can imagine your MIL doing that
sad.gif

pegsfur: my mil also wan to buy a gold leg-chain for my bb. I also said 'dun need'..wait skarly like the prev time, she said..wan to buy some jewellery for our wedding, and she insisted that I chose some GOLD pieces( must be YELLOW GOLD, and not purple /white gold).
Then end up, my husb paid using his credit card, and she happily forgot to pay her son.

1-2mths later, i am checking his credit card bill..and saw the amt on the statement,so i asked him " this one,ur mum pay u back?" . He said " dun have,aiya...nevermind lah".
I was so hot and told him "if i know u are the one paying for it, then shd let me choose purple gold or white gold mah..she insist yellowgold for wat??"

Now,i am scared history will repeat itself again, she will CONFIRM ask us to accompany her to jewellery shop.

pegsfur: oh man... i know how u feel... cookie sometimes does that too... then not only u gotta clean up the place (as if now with belly very easy to do so haha) gotta clean up the pets etc..

i call cookie my abuser... make pregnant woman get down on hands and knees to clean up after her. haha..

i think ur MIL might present the anklet during man yue when visitors are around and insist on letting baby wear it lor... use public pressure to pressure u into letting baby wear...

I bought my nursing bras from this website. BOught the sarah night BF bra, like sports bra... cheap and very comfortable!

http://mum-indulgence.blogspot.com

(Moderator, i am not doing advert, i dont get any benefit out of it.. i got this link from somewhere in this forum too..)

So far i have 7 Nursing bras.

yen: then ask u husband dont bring anycash or credit card then lor.. heee.....

pegsfur: safety 1st, u can buy their products at major stores.. i know departmental stores have them. I bought my safety 1st stuff from taka..

BabyS,
im tinking of buying the sarah bra...its comfortable? u tink it has enuff support to wear for daytime too? looks good n im tinking of buying

pegsfur,
ur MIL juz wan look good in front of relatives bah...she will make sure bb wear n let everyone noes its from her...she juz wan her face i tink

sharon: I tried it that day, very comfy leh... wouldnt make u feel hot at all.. support wise, its like wearing a sports bra, but i think will give enough support when the breast is heavy with milk..

I like it that u can wear at night, dont need to fumble with clips etc to feed...

i bought one black and one nude...

sunshine: if i can, i'll sell it away and use the money... hahha..

i got some yellow gold pieces during my wedding too, up till now, white elephant lor... i dont wear, yet cannot sell also... hai..

for now i think quite comfy lah.. ahaha

usually i dont like this kind of sports bra cutting. extra cloth makes u feel hotter.. but this one doesnt..

maybe if nice, after delivery i;ll get some more. so cheap some more.

babys: me too. the wedding jewellery pieces are sitting in the drawer too. i think maybe 20 to 30 yrs down the road, then i will wear...haha

for my wedding, my MIL let me choose, so i got a simple necklace that I can use now & then.

she asked me whether i want the dragon/phoenix bracelets, i said no need, cos i'll never wear again. so she didn't insist...

i know this time around, some kaypoh aunties r telling her she needs to buy some gold thing for the baby, but she hasn't raised it with us yet...

yen: haha... good for u lor, i dont think i'll ever wear yellow gold... the min i put onto my hands, my hands look like aunty hands!! heee....

baby s,
Hahaha ... ya lah .. sometimes dunno to laugh or to cry when they do such things. Last time i used to get real angry and refused to sa-yang or talk to her. When she comes near, i'll tell her to 'go away', and she'll look at me with the most pitiful eyes and wonder why i dun want her.

Slowly i realised that it's useless to punish them when the deed is already done cos they can't register the punishment with the deed as it was done so many hours ago. So boh bian lor, have to guai guai clean up her & the room.

sharon
Ya, she just wanna show off to relatives dat she not only dotes on the grandson, she wants to show that she is oso a very big-hearted person who can forgive her evil dil for snatching away her son.

sunshineG
My sister still have her anklet from her infant days. For memory sake... every fews years when she clears her cupboard she will take out and "show off" cos none of her other siblings (i.e. me!) still have it!

But hor I think maybe gals are more sentimental lah, will bother about these things... boys dont care one.

sunshine,

At least yours is with you and can do watever u want to do with it. My wedding jewellery from mil was kept by her and till now i haven't got it back from her since we are not on talking terms. Anyway, i oso bu xi han lah.

talking about my baobei doggie... my dad fed him overnight fries this morning and my poor doggie puke it out in the afternoon. Luckily never kanna the sofa, if not sure will trigger a family arguement!

~ LOVE ~

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it.
Touching
words from the mouth of4 to 8 year-old kids. A group of professional
people posed this question 'What does love mean?'

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have
imagined See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her
toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even
when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'

Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'

Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne
and they go out and smell each other.'

Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French
fries without making them give you any of theirs.'

Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'

Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip
before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'

Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing,
you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are
like that.
They look gross when they kiss'

Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening
presents
and listen.'

Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who
you hate,'

Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it
everyday.'

Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still
friends even after they know each other so well.'

Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at
all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'

Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'

Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'

Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is
handsomer than Robert Redford.'

Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all
day.'

Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes
and has to go out and buy new ones.'

Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars
come out of you.' (what an image)

Karen - age 7

this one
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's
gross.'

Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean
it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'

Jessica - age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an
elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's
yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy
said,

'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

Quote of the day:

'What ever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.'

mails i receive...

Re: Gold
haha, i really regret telling my relatives to give me white gold instead of yellow gold for my wedding. Coz white gold is worthless. Yellow gold can trade in and get money back. It's sort of an investment.

So don't ask for white gold/purple gold unless you're sure u'll wear these pcs. Else it's better to get yellow gold which will increase in value and u can pawn/trade in if u want.

kiki,
The fries are prob too oily, that's why can't digest. But it's good that he vomitted it out .. at least he'll feel better

Sharon,
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all
day.' Mary Ann - age 4

This is so true!
U know, my dog welcomes me home with the same happiness and excitement as if she hasn't seen me for days when all i've done was just to go down to the carpark to help my hubby carry something home, and i was back in 5mins.

mashy,
yup i agree...i also got yellow gold but will neva wear...take it as investment cos gold price goin up...hehehe

pegsfur,
cos u got doggie so u can relate to it...
too bad me super scared of animals!

sharon,

Aaawww .... I understand your fear of animals just like my fear of cockroaches!

But really, aniimals are great companions! U know, at the time when i lose my Owen, i was crying and crying whenever nobody is at home during confinement. My coalie was sleeping in the living room but when she heard me crying, she came to me, looked at me and moments later, lay her head on my lap, as if to say 'dun feel sad, i'm here for you'. This didn't happen only once but several times.

Another time my mum was sick and was resting on her bed. My mum seldom fall sick so this was actually the 1st time my dog see her like this. Normally my dog will follow me wherever i go but dat day, she just jumped up on my mum's bed and kept her company. My dad saw it and told her to come down. She came down and walked to the door, looked at my mum, as if she's worried abt her and slept near the door instead.

Oh man, I could tell u endless stories like this!
happy.gif

pegsfur,
my fear of animals is different fr urs...im scared of everything! fr cockroaches to lizards to dogs to cats to hamsters...hahaa
but dogs r really different fr other animals
happy.gif

sunshine,
Cos last time we live with her while waiting for our flat. She gave up her masterbedroom for us but her wardrobe she din move to the other room. We co-share the wardrobe in the masterbedroom lor. Then when we move, i only pack my own stuff, i forgot that the jewellry was kept in the drawers with her stuff in the wardrobe. So till now i haave not seen it.

sharon,
Hahahaa ... u are 1 timid mouse!
happy.gif

donkeymami: I got L size... i follow her measurment guideline lor, buy accordin to bust line. I just increase my present bust size up one size and buy according to that lor.

I at first wanna buy XL, cos i big size mah, suddenly tell me buy XL, i worry cannot wear! but the lady advise buy smaller, cos more support.... then i try the L, comfy. Not tight or cutting or fats spilling over kind...

pegsfur: I like that quote too.. cookie also, after i scold her and ignore her, when i walk back, she;ll be stnading on her hinds, trying to get my attention, when i get to her, she rushes for me to sayang..

I agree, pets are great companions. They cant talk or advise u, but they can sense how u are feeling. sometimes when i cry, sometimes i go sayang my rabbit and she seems to know i am sad too... And cookie was the first 'person' i told about the pregnancy. hahaha..l i came out of the toilet and shouted"cookie! iam pregnant!" hhahahhaah...

pegsfur: ur MIL still got ur jewellery? so weird.. nvm lah, as u say, u dont xi han....

wow, I haven't been in this thread for ages. Been so tied up at work recently. Finally counting down, and returning to Singapore next Wednesday from Shanghai. Any one ready to pop soon? Me only 32 weeks, still counting down to end August.

pegsfur
oh yah! Zhuang is Cherng. I saw that surname on his dad's letter. haha atfirst i was like asking him, how come ur dad and ur surname different one lol opps.

thats the reason i like dog! doubt cat will actually do that (comfort owner when owner is sad). they just heck care you normally and when they need food then they come and meow until very very very irritating. yesterday my mil dont wanna give them cat can food, instead she want to give them those fried fish heads when we seperate them from the body. when my mil wants to bring the fried fish heads to the kitchen for the cats (in the middle of dinner), one of them jumped UP and scratched her until bleeding cos its nails are really sharp. wa lao... seriously -_-

will dog do that?

weishy
whoa, the one about taiwan woman died cos of shrimp/prawn + vit C is scary.

piggytoh
I think kiki looks like Fish Leong too!! Saw her photo on facebook and was like wondering how come she looks so familiar!! hahaha

Jul
I got kelly nursing bra but not from the website wor. The support is like normal non-wired bra lor. just to cover the breast and nipples type. haha but i think if we put breast pad, then should be ok bah.

babymaking
hang in there! haha that time i bought durian strudel and hide inside my big jeans bag. my mil couldnt detach the smell!! Living with Pil is like living in jail. lol if bought food home, mil sure will make noise say my hubby to fat. after giving birth, i think i will also get the "go and exercise and lose weight!" nagging session given by mil.

yen
i got jewellery from MIL and grand MIL too. Grand MIL gave me a super thick yellow gold necklace and mil gave me a white gold with diamond necklace. but end up i never wear them lah... cos i am not the type who wears any jewellery. not even wedding ring (unless i go out). but those yellow gold is good for keeping i guess.

i prefer ang bao!

sharon
where do u check when does gold price go up?

pegsfur

Safety 1st is the brand. They sell things like cushions to put on sharp furniture corners, safety latches for doors, drawers, etc.

I think Robinsons, Isetan, Taka all carry Safety 1st pdts. But that toilet roll saver.. I saw at Kidzloft one. Not sure if all stores carry that particular pdt.

Maternity bra
Ladies,u may wanna consider those sold at Robinsons too. Jus bought three at $5.90 and $8.90 respectively. Super comfy-can bao the flesh well, wide straps and opening for breast pads.

Pegsfur,
Yeah...i totally agree..dogs are such sensitive creatures..tat time my granny was going thru her last stages,so one day i was home n was feelin really sad,my jack russell jus sat bsides me n licked my tears.
Another time,my sis was dead drunk n passed out on the floor aft some emotional drinkin session,my dog also licked her face as if to wake her up to bath n comfort her.

Can't stand it, now really having difficulty walking with the groin pain. Can't lie down on my side either coz it hurts like mad. sianz....

I'm still only 36 weeks!!!!

reira

i dunno if everyone will get it. I've heard of some mummies getting it. The groin hurts like siao...
sad.gif
