Maternity Pad,
I will use Kotex or Pureen brand.

Hi all,

The amt of lochia varies among individuals as what pegsfur's mum said.

For my case, even my mensus also very little, so when i had my #1 i bought the long long type the pad is not wet at all, even i use the normal one also!

So it is really depends on individual.

thanks! i will share the papaya soup tonight, bcoz i was thinking 1.5 litre of water, will have one big pot.

cloudme,

Ya lor .. can't imagine which sickening psycho can do this to an innocent dog!

My place there used to have a pack of dogs too. A very nice couple will also feed them in the evening. Last time when i take LRT, can see them relaxing & sun tanning on the big field. It also brightens up my day whenever i see them. But nowadayds i dun see them anymore ... either they've moved their 'territory', or they've been captured by ava and put down.

hi morning gals

yesterday was a good night! 2 contractions only! although didn't manage to get much sleep as kept feeling tightenings. poor little fellow in there must be squeezed.

kiki,
have Pmed you. Thanks!

Enjoy your gathering tonight - wish i could be there. someone take pictures and post in FB ok?

pegsfur,
guess if caught by ava then too bad...
talking about dogs
been a very long time(2yrs) since i last seen my uncle's dogs liao...
wonder how are the puppies...
missed the big dog...and the pups

Pegfur, thanks for making my day by telling me the nice couple who feed the dog, i always feel for these ppl and dogs and appreciate those who treat them well..

Babymaking, jia you and do take extreme gd care..

Mashy/Prisc, papaya soup is to enhance the milk supply??

Lawshe,
hee me too prefer sofy over other brand for norm menses hee..

KOi bubble tea:
i goin to TPY later any idea if the outlet is any where near the HDB HUB?

Piggy, KOI is somewher near 7-11 or i should say, opposite BUZZ newspaper stand... their bubbletea is super super nice... u can try their honey green tea or even passionfruit smoothie, i love them... OMG, i am drooling le....

Cloudme/Pegsfur, so happy that there are dog lovers around... make me feel so much at ease cos ppl around me are always saying kid n dogs dont comes together.. sux.. hate that kinda comment..

btw, there is this charity event recent wkend, where volunteers take photoshoot for dogs (meaning, something similar like studio photoshoot for dogs but at a much more affordable rate) and the donation goes to the 4yr old girl Charmaine that is suffering from Cancer, i thik this is quite a gd deed, if anyone of u are keen, i can try to check out the details.

Good morning all,

I went for my gynae appointment yday and Doc gave me the admission letter to be brought along when i admit in hospital. With that letter, they will contact my gynae and it provide some basic information. Everything is well and Doc did a 3D scan. Amazing, can see the baby features so clearly!!!!!!!!!!!
Doc was commenting "Your baby is so silly, poking eyes with the toe big thumb"....bec the baby's foot is right in front of its face and really can see the big thumb at the left eye !!

My mum also commenting baby has my cheek, my DH forehead etc etc, got everyone so excited..heheheehehehe....

My DH is checking with the make up artist on her available slot and I should be able to post up the schedule within these two days. Should be for the week 13-17 Jul ( weekday ). Only one weekend slot, esp for kikilala as her DH is back oni for that one day.

Irene, same the nurse at the delivery ward help me put a stick-on pad on the disposable undies then cushion on the maternity pad. Very well padded lor. kekeke...

Just to share on food after Epidural:
My #1 was induced as he was still happily swimming inside my stomach at week 41. After epi, my gynea order me breakfast cos he says I need food in order to have strength to push later on and he also instructed nurse to give me lunch and tea break. I delivered my boy after tea-break just before dinner. Kakaka...

Lawshe, it is to enhance the milk supply.

babymaking, are you on my fb? Let's jia you together!

Lawshe/Shizuka,
thanks!! i dun drink green tea maybe try their passion smoothie hee.. but can add pearl rite cos i know their smoothis no pearl 1...

Kiki,
can i have ur HP so i can contact u this evenin?

lawshe,
my mil block got lots of dog owners arounds...and my ger love dog...but still dun dare to hug them...

but hor my niece opp lor...see dog and run type lor...

Oh, so we can put on a normal pad with wings on the disposable panty then put the maternity pad on top of the normal pad ?
Would it stick on ?
I just realise from kikilala comments the Pureen pads does not come with wings. Im so used to wing pads too. So if pad can be double up, I might add a pack of normal pad with wing to my bag...

Piggy, passionfruit smoothie add pearl better and nicer... i usually go w/o sugar cos quite sweet to me, just be careful when u order n dun ask for too much sugar cos it may end up to sweet..

Cloudme, i tink ur girl grow up at an environment w dogs so adapt to that kinda lifestyle but ur niece might not got the chance.. gd exposure to them though... if u girl is still young, just let her play w the dog, dun let them hug yet bah.. if the dog dun like n reject, ur girl might not like it...

Dolce, i have the same problem too.. i am very used to using wings and now i am kinda stuck.. guess like what many mummies suggested, i will have to go on normal pads if i dun find appropriate ones.. btw, u mentioned abt sticking maternity pad over sanitary pad, this is double layer, is this really necessary??

If you are using the net undies that the hospital give, no need the wings. I gotten the hospital type of net undies from the TMC pharmacy, it is very airy and it holds the maternity pad well.

For those worry about pain after birth, go get a surgery float to sit on. I got that during Kai's time and it is not as painful as sitting on the bed or sofa itself.

lawshe/cloudme,

Ya, it's always nice to know that there are pple who loves/respect animals. My family loves and adores my dog. My mum was initial scared of dogs cos she was kena chased by 1 big dog when she was young .. hahha .. i used to laugh at her on this. But after i got a dog, my dog completely changed her
happy.gif
Heheh ... my mum even cooks for her and when she was breathing her last breath at the vet's, my mum & sis & bro rushed down to see her for the last time.

But of cos in this world, there are all kinds of pple and there r pple who dun like animals. I think we are not asking them to love or accept the animals but a little respect for these poor animals as a living thing with feelings sharing this world with us is not too much to ask for rite?

And very common, i encounter parents who tell their kids "Dun go there, the dog is dirty/will bite/will catch you" So the kid learns from young that dogs are dirty/will bite them and in turn becomes scared of dogs. Some irritating ones will start to stomp their foot, or scream and try to taunt the dogs. Then the dogs will start to bark, and the parents will say "see? the dog is barking, it will bite you". It's a vicious cycle.

lawshe,
both my ger and niece live at my mil's flat...so will sure see those dogs one...
but my niece scare of dogs/animals lah...

those dogs at my mil's block are very good...won't bark at ppl...love kids one...

the only thing different is i like to watch animals docu on scv channels when preggi...

my niece's mum(sil) dun watch these type of shows/docu when preggi ...
cos my mil drill/told her that can't watch later bb will be like those animals...
(what logic huh?)

reria
i heard of the raves abt rasberry tea leaves as well.. and since i had a 18hrs labour after waterbag burst for my 1st birth.. i started drinking rasberry tea leaves since a few weeks ago during weekdays office hours.. i drink one of each every day.. tastes better than normal drinking water

kekeke i got the organic mother's milk as well now, to start on it once after giving birth.. to stimulate milk flow..

Lawshe, it is exact wat the hospital provide, the net washable types. In fact, I was looking hi& low for it and found it at the pharmacy there and was so happy. It is $4 a pc. I gotten 4 pcs and they dry really fast.

pegsfur, Kai is an animal lover, he was pound by a huskie when he was like 1 yr old but he was not afraid of dogs, he loves to hug and touch them haahaa. Now he is waiting till end of the year to go back to Sydney with a toy for a friend's bulldog.

maternity pads.
err i oso used double pads initially..i recalled.. at the hospital.. coz lochia alot.. at least if it soaks through right..it will go to the 2nd part.. and since i was oredi charged for the kotex pads that hospital gives.. why waste it? :p.

pris
the net wirings tmc gives very fitting n secured... i like... maybe i shld get a packet on my next visit.

Lawshe,

Im not sure if that is necessary. Just saw that some of the nurses did it this way for them.
Guess it depend on the flow. If its not too heavy then I might use the normal pads as well.
But will bring Pureen Maternity ones to hospital just in case.

smurfy, does the organic mother's milk help? Hooray, my mum is making me papaya fish soup again today.

smurfy, it is sold per piece not in a packet, one piece at $4. I gotten 4 pieces and I wonder how many TMC provide. Coz in Mt E, they given me 2-3 pieces during Kai's time.

Just to check, does TMC give alot of warm milo during our stay there? If not, I will have to ask dh to get me milo in packets, need to drink alot to have milk haahaa.

yep, things are looking up - taking one day at a time!

btw because of my own personal experience, and from other mummies i met in the hospital sharing their experiences, i've decided to start a BP to bring in the fetal doppler to Singapore.

It's useful to use the device to monitor baby's heartbeat, esp when one lose track of keeping touch with bb's movement during a busy day.

details can be found here.

babymaking, I was given one by a friend too. She has a difficult pregnancy but her bb is now a healthy 3 yr old.

pegsfur
now that you mention about it, i wonder if my hubby will go and buy for me if i need. the only thing i worry is that hubby buy wrong one. i am very fussy about which brand/type of pad i use. now i have about 36 maternity and 40 pieces of regular(since last year!). hopefully enough to last! maybe i should go and buy 2 more packs of regular ones haha since can always use it next time.

smurfy
did u get the rasberry tea leaves from drugstore.com?

pris,

Kai is a brave boy! A husky is huge leh ... and he's not afraid
happy.gif

My friend's kiddo too .. he was only abt 8/9 months old but was totally unafraid of dogs. When he came to my house, my dog was barking at him but the strange thing was, he thot it was funny. So everytime when my dog bark at him, he would be laughing heartily. It's a funny sight
happy.gif

As for the milo, it was given for every tea- breaks and breakfast, if i remembered correctly.

Cloudme, the influence a bb got before they are born does give them a different impact.. particularly when u mentioned, u watch animal documentary when u r expecting n ur SIL doesn't.. guess this is the diff... and from personal experience, my parents still keep our pet dog when my mum was carrying me, however they gave away the dog shortly i was born n both my sisters were not expose to dogs since young.. and right now, all of us have grown up, i love dogs n animals more than anyone of them.. btw, u joining tonite??? (if yes, then we can continue talking abt dogs.. hahaha)

Prisc, thanks for the info.. i guess i will buy afew to keep too.. i was in the opinion that the normal disposable not very comfy.. kekeke....

Prisc, envy u to stay w ur parents... n plenty of tonic n proper food... i have no choice but to do my confinemt at my in-laws and worst still, i cant hire a confinement lady given the restriction given by my MIL n I was tasked to eat those simple food that she cook. OMG, thinking abt it, is sure nitemare for me.... (i wish i could go back home but my parents are too old to take care of me)

Priscilla,
During my stayed at TMC 2yrs back, they give milo during tea time only. I always feel hungry aft gave birth, so shall bring some biscuits or snacks during your stay.

Cloudme/kikilala,
I changed pads v often last time. Each time aft go toilet, will put on a new pad. Pureen maternity pad is so soft and thick! V nice to wear compare to normal pad.

maternity pads
is pureen maternity pads more comfy or kotex (adhesive type)? my fren gave me 2 pkts of half used kotex pads wif strings frm hospital but i dun wan to use those ancient pads. so thot of buying the adhesive kind or normal pads to use instead. can we tell the hospital tat we dun wan their pads & minus frm the bill?

kikilala, will my items be too big to send by Post? Coz I dun want to take up too much of your time waiting for us to collect.

pegsfur, Kai loves all animals. In fact, we told him that he should not run when he is near dogs when he was like 2. Now being bigger, he loves playing with the dogs, even throw sticks and balls for the dogs to pick up.

These are some pictures of Kai with animals,

He went to touch dolphin, sit on elephants and also I have some he plays with dogs(all on my mobile in Oz) so trying to search for them on my photos but think I did no upload yet.

pris,

Hahaha .. the 1st pic with the bird on his head is so cute!
happy.gif

It's good that kids loves animals .. no wonder kai wants to be a vet when he grows up
happy.gif

pris,
kai is so cute!!!!

a lot of ppl also ask me to send my golden retriever away since baby is coming & tat it'll cause the baby to hv asthma etc. how can they even suggest tat? i love my goldie so much. and it's so unreasonable & irresponsible if i were to do that.
