Do let me know when you gals are metting too. I am not Northerner, but I would love to join if you are gathering after office hrs on weekdays and sat morning (may be we can do brunch on sat..) Sun, I have church & fellowship, then go beach with hubby in the afternoon.

Oh, got gathering for the west side..good good..

HBB, your bb seems stable, 800gm at 26/25 weeks. My ger is only half of that at 22.5wks..but i can feel my appetite getting stronger these few days.

BTW, any mummies got lobang for toyota vios, any good agent at Borneo Motors? no parallel importer, cos now considering a car with bb coming on board and COE is heading up in the next 6 mths (not to mention LTA is cutting the quota in may)so we better grab one first.
 
Mrs C : Hi, i am from Aug 2009's thread. We just got a new car too, in anticipation of our bb. We bot Hyundai Avente, the price is reasonable...and equally spacious as Toyota Vios. But of course, it cost $10k cheaper..which is why we got a korean car instead. Our agent is quite nice & helpful..and threw in a few freebies

Thanks for the info, actually we are looking into vios cos my hb doesnt favour korean cars.. though to me as long got transport it doesnt matter which car we get. Does your agent carry Vios as well?

got 1 mummy told me that actually also depends on both the mummy and daddy. bcos if 1 of you is bigger built, then mayb the child will be also bigger built, hence bigger then average ^^ but if doctor say everiting is well, guess should b no problem

Princess, any idea how to start this gathering?? posting in the forum is a gd idea and gather whoever can make it is much easier too rite???
 
Hi Mrs C: nope, my agent is based in Hyundai, so she only sells hyundai cars. Actually, my husb and I got same thinking as u...to us, as long as it's a sedan car ( can put more things at the back) with safety features (2 air-bags), can liao. Korean cars cheaper, then we can save the $ and spend on the bb( delivery costs, confinement charges, monthly babysitting fees...)

dun worriew! i tink everything should b fine. all my frens and colleagues also say my baby is FAT AND CHUBBY but doesn matter to me also =p bcos sometimes will nt b accurate. my fren doctor told her at 36weeks tat baby is underweight. then end up 39weeks come out is 3.5kg or somethin i remb. quite big.

It's is indeed that Korean cars are generally cheaper than Japanese cars. I think besides the price of the car, we should also consider the followings:

1. Maintenance:
1.1 Servicing, when I bought my last car-Nissan Sunny, it came with 7 servicing (which covers up to 3 years) so it saved me lots of servicing $$$.

1.2 Fuel consumption (yes, many said Sunny is bad in fuel consumption, but as compared to my brother's Mazda3, sunny was alot better). Although we save about 40k in the selling price of the Jeep, this car consumed petrol like me drinking water and each fill-up is at least $100 cos tanks is big and about once a week..

1.3 Road Tax: I paid double of what I had to for sunny cos Jeep is 3.8Ltr

1.4 Insurance:...


2. Resale value. I think generally we need not worry for Japanese cars' resale value.

Hi Kimberly, that's fast! hah, we might give her a call and pop by for test drive if time permit. Doing cost analysis now as we are now troubled to whether to invest in a car or to save the funds for our house renovation in 2 years time cos we do not intend to take loan thus have to consider forking out at least 30-40K cash for it. If we invest in car, will need loan for reno but if we save for reno , that mean we got to give up the car and just spend $ on taking taxi all the time. Given the current economy, we are becoming more careful in spendin the money cos certain industry are very vulnerable now esp manufacturing and hb is in it. Even if the economy picks up, it will take a few more years to be stablized.
