lfb : some mummies here have pointed out that LG is much better (and pricier).I had my heart set out on the Parklon one as to me, there's not much difference.Sophie's loving the mat so far and hubby tested out the mat last night after Sophie went to bed.He jumped on the mat like he was tackling somebody and told me it didnt hurt when he fell.So that's good enough for me.Sophie also has started to crawl (although it looks like she's just sticking her bum in the air and shaking it) as she wants to see the characters on the other side of the mat. Sophie has more than enough space to flip over now as compared to when we sit with her on the sofa...

Sleeping Habits : This is something I'm quite strict about as I believe if I dont train her now, she'll end up like my 2 year old nephew who gets up at 2am and insists on playing till 5am then falls asleep till 7am.Then takes 20min naps during the day.

Sophie has her bath at 6.30pm.Changes into PJs (long sleeved tees and long pants - we received a lot of GAP PJs as presents) and has the J&J nighttime lotion massaged into her.We take her to the window so she can watch the cars zoom by (her new favourite pastime), then it's onto the living room where she watches a 6min cartoon (Yoyo the Magician) on BabyTV.Then she drinks a bit of milk.Everybody kisses her goodnight. And I bring her into our bedroom where there's a small lamp on with the A/C turned on at 25"celcius.She puts on her IKEA sleeping bag and i walk around the room with her and tell her about my day (sometimes sing to her) and she falls asleep within minutes. She wakes up at 1am but after a few "eh eh ehs",she goes back to sleep on her own. Then she wakes up at 6.30am and this time it's for good.We change her diaper, give her a bit of milk and get her ready for her morning bath.

It's been exactly like this ever since she was 2 months old till i think she knows the schedule better than we do.

It takes a lot of discipline to stick to this schedule.I've always ensured my appointments end before bath time or begin after she falls asleep...

Hubs and i bought a Maclaren pram as a back up travel pram to our Quinny and I'm supposed to go down to the baby store in Kaki Bukit tomorrow to collect the safety kit...

Anybody else collected theirs already?

Hi createjoy, tubbymummy & annticipating,

Thanks for sharing! My baby's edd july but she born in june. It was a tough battle again last night, she slept at 2.45am after the peace offering of my well-used breast. I thought it was too early to implement sleep routine for her as i did not want her to cry it out. Is it all too late?? She rejects pacifier till now so can't self-soothe (never heard of baby rejecting pacifier till now.. my own).

Looks like i need to get an exersaucer cos can put baby there to occupy herself for 20 mins at least, like cot mobiles. Anymore this type of lifesaver toys out there? :D

Hi ahnetsan, thanks!

tinybubu, wow such a strict schedule. i'll find it hard to follow myself but at least there's some predictability..

December Gathering

Createjoy, roughly how much in total including the booking fee, each person have to pay? Pay on that day?

maryg: was thking to resize the rings too. but i seldom wear them so can wait.

shelisa: where is the collection if want to order the ikan bili n rice?

- my boy usually sleeps around 9+ to 10+. will clean up at 8pm, followed by his feed, then read a story or playtime. then pat him to sleep.
- sleep in aircon room, unless the weather is cooling. dress in sleepsuit or long sleeve top n long pants
- activities: flashcards, picture/story books, baby einstein vcd, toys
- he has pillow/bolster n bean husk pillow. but he will turn and move in his cot, so sometimes, the pillow/bolster are all over the cot.

newmum : it's never too late to start a schedule.i think what's important is that the atmosphere must be condusive for sleeping.if it's too noisy or bright, baby will think it's time to play so best to bring her to a place where's she wont be stimulated so that she will fall asleep easily.

it will require perserverence during the first few days or maybe weeks but it will definitely pay off once baby falls into sync.

We've all been there when we first started the routine so dont worry if it looks like its not working at first.Just continue with it and you'll see the effects after some time.

tiny, hubby is terrible with this bedtime routine. to date we still have Alya in the same room as us but she sleeps in her crib. come 8pm it should be bedtime for her but daddy has other plans, he'll want to watch tv in our room. so of course the poor girl will toss and turn. this is one habit that pisses me off to no end. if i have to tell him off, then im the bad one. how?

caramelle : sophie still sleeps in the master bedroom with us but in her own crib.hubby likes to do the same thing as well.and he has this habit of opening and closing doors very roughly.i have nagged him to death about being considerate with sophie sleeping but i end up like the bad guy.we bought wireless headphones that fixed the problem. =]

babysara, So u will let us know again when the stocks arrive then we can arrange to collect from u? U prob need to let us know your contact no. (perhaps via email) so that we can call u to fix up a time to collect the items and pay u. Thanks=)

RE: Bedtime routine

I bathe Aug at abt 730pm everyday and I start to latch him to sleep at 8pm. Depending on whether he is really tired or not, he will sleep at 8plus or latest 9pm. There are some bad days when i have to keep latching him till he sleeps but latest 9pm. He still wakes up at nite but i have lost track how many times cos i bring him to my bed and latch him then sometimes he ends up sleeping on the bed till morning cos mummy too tired to shift him back to his mattress. He wakes up at 7am every morning with a noisy poop haha. This bedtime routine has been in place for months already and he is very familiar with it. I think its gd to start babies on a routine as early as possible so they know what to expect and it provides predictability which is comforting. The only problem i have now is Aug can't really self-soothe himself back to sleep when he wakes. He needs me to latch him back to sleep unless he is super tired. yest he woke up once with a weak cry then went back to sleep by himself. Hubby and I were so happy with this miracle hee. I also try to end all engagements by latest 8pm if im out to put him to sleep, even on weekends.

Re: Playmat

I have the LG Prime 15mm playmat and Aug flips on it everyday. I think its ok. He seems happy doing it and he knows how to do it in such a way that he doesn't land on his back with a hard knock. So far no cries of pain so i think the mat is safe for flipping. In fact i think he enjoys moving ard on the playmat. He now rotates 360 degrees on his belly sometimes. He kinda hates being carried in the day nowadays cos he cant move. He will wiggle and wiggle....haha

hi newmum0109
my baby self-soothes by sucking on her left thumb... sometimes suck before falling asleep, sometimes suck when still asleep...

hi LFB
on the transition from Nan Pro 1 to Nan Pro 2, I guess if I were you, I would just finish the Pro 1 and will not waste it. Previously I also enquired here about the transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2. One of my friends also told me that gradually, you can mix the Stage 2 powder into the Stage 1 powder for every feed. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

I also heard another of my friend say that she just simply switch from Stage 1 to Stage 2 without the gradual transition. Hmmm.. maybe the transition is just to make sure they get used to the new flavour?

tiny/caramelle, aug sleeps in our master bedroom too but on his own mattress. and we try to be extremely quiet when we need to enter the room. Sometimes we need to take baths but we wait till he is sound asleep before doing so haha.

bbaugustine : aug sounds really cute. sophie does the same with the rotating.haha.poor girl.

hope they learn how to move forward soon otherwise it'll be really frustrating for them to just turn around in a circle.

tinybubu, actually aug can move forward to reach for a toy when i place my hands against his feet. I learnt this in the baby gym class i went to. He will push his feet against my hands and push his body forward with the help of his hands. Hope this sets the foundation for crawling hehe. u can try it too!

Hayoki, juz found out bb is taking Nan HA2 instead of Nan PRO2, you able to change the request to Nan HA2 instead?? Sorry for the confusion...
