Lenny.. I had started a simple library for my boy but we do not put it at his level cos he tend to "creatively re-arrange re-deco re-assemble" stuff. but your suggestion of having a library within their reach sounds like a good plan as they are now able to recognise and point out stuff. I bought all the board books as he tend to drool all over them (not nice to do that to library books) and they cost a bomb! one tip is to go to borders whenever they have a promo. looking for the book you want at borders would be a challenge tho. i'm contemplating buying from amazon but too lazy to get down to doing it haha.
One of my boy's fav "My Book of Zoo Animals". He wants that book all the time. I would point out an animal, repeat its name then ask him where it is. He would then point at the animal. We try to add a new animal every other day. He would get some animals right all the time while others depends on his mood (or his luck in pointing haha).
Hey maybe we can all have a zoo outing when our babies reach 18 months and they can see animals up close and personal =D
Queenie.. United Sq is a good place for kiddie stuff. Check out the popular there too. Their selection of kiddle books is good. Maybe will bump into you there cos my boy goes there twice a week
Pseed.. do tell where did you find the beeswax crayons? I am assuming they are non toxic too?
