I got this straw cup for my girl and want to recommend it to anyone who is looking for one. It's spill proof, easy to drink. Integrated lid, straw, cover. P seed, is the straw cup easy to wash? What abt the replacement straw - will is be easy to buy the replacement?

Anyone familiar with Sydney? Any good recommendations for service apartments with full kitchen facilities and near to touristy spots?
 
Cindy, Agnes, I will ask them about the replacement straws when shop opens and post here. I imagine that you have to buy a new sippy cup in the event the straw is spoilt as it's integrated with the lid and handle. Looks very durable though. Just wash with warm soapy water. I wash normally and just run water through the straw. Can show you what I mean when I see you, a bit hard to describe online.

just feel bad leaving her at home alone.. she took 45min journey from her home to my place just to spend time with Bree and if i bring Bree out.. then.. not so nice la.

i did offer to pay for her cab fare to come to my place but she say only difference by 10-15 mins and got to pay so much extra so she rather take the train. Haiz..
 
eh , there were only 3 green, 3 orange left when they spoke to me yesterday. My phone is not working yet so e-mail/PM me for now.
I'll ask them for 2 orange 2 green for jtho and cindy for now ok?

By the way, I will only arrive around 1.30 cos of her nap time. And collection only at the bash ok? Cos I don't have time to meet up or post it etc. DH is travelling again this week and in 2 weeks. Only good thing is I have a loooong shopping list for him to bring back from US haha.
 
There is no replacement straw for now. The manufacturer is working on it. Just squeeze straw under running water to wash. It's quite easy cos I did it yest. Can be sterilised.
 
About drinking from straw cups, how do you all train your bb? I tried over the weekend to let him drink using the yakult straw which my friend suggested but not successful, he was biting the straw instead of sucking from it. Any tips?

need some advice here.. anyone setting up a mini library for our babies? was wondering if i should buy the books or just borrow them from the library.

Space is a challenge though.

i actually had this thought after this evening..

Bree sat on the sofa after her dinner..frowning her eye brows.. blabbering to herself while she "read" the JG holiday program brochure. She is very "Ren Zhen" blabbering and pointing to the pictures and words then flipping the pages..

I only got her a few books from Emily Lim so far..
 
Lenny, am thinking of setting up a mini library for my son. So far, on his playmat, I just stack them up. Same for the dining area. He would just throw them all over the place..

The reason why I want to set up a mini library, (Just a mini shelving and arrange the books vertically) is to allow him to practice his fine motor skills in pulling out the book that he wants. Also neater. He will also know that plc is for reading.

At this moment, I wouldn't tot of borrowing from the library cos my son will throw/tear/munch his way thro the books.
 
HI Lenny,

HY is also doing what Bree is doing. Blabbering as he points at the pictures in his books and flipping the pages.
My colleague had passed him quite a huge stack of books for more advance readers. He will take the books out and 'read' them very seriously.
now i put his toys and books in those large clear box from ikea.

If you borrow books for her,you will have to watch her to make sure she doesn't tear the books cos at this age they tend to be very rough (unless you borrowed those board books). For now i prefer to buy books for hy.

Ryker oso the same as your bbs. Take the flash books & mummering to himself, presume he is reading.

I've put all few books & flash cards at the TV consol shelf. So, whenever he feel like it he will go there take the flash cards twist & throw. His 1st paper book, he already tear one of the corner, so now I bought hardcover book with finger puppet. He love it.

Bree is not so keen on flash cards.. she will take a pack and ask me to open.. then she will mess up the cards and crawl away..

lucky i didn't buy them.. was given by a friend cos her son outgrew them

isit ok to mix medicine syrup with milo? my bb having fever since last nite, she did managed to drink e syrup but almost puke also.

sorry to hear that the JG class that Bree is currently attending is full. i was told that there are 2 vacancies in our class and went to enquire and book trials for u ladies but over the weekend, 2 more babies signed up so.. this class is full for the term.. thus no more trials can be provided.

BTW, was told that Evans road have smaller classes so can try booking trials there if you mommies are still keen..

To be honest, trials are worth going only on the event that mommies can have a caregiver (ILs or good maids) that attend with our babies.. else its kinda redundant.

we will be encouraged to sing a long in class and participate with a positive attitude.. like when they are supposed to meddle and get messy.. if we adults feel irky about the mess.. babies will not want to try.

for Bree.. she doesn't like anything that is gooey.. paints etc.. i have to dip my whole hand into paint to encourage her and tell her its fun..
some maids.. they dun want to clean babies up after that (Lazy).. they will not really want the babies to play with these stuff.. so.. i just think its redundant to have such care giver bring babies to class cos babies cannot really learn through stimulation of senses..

as for us, the mommies.. we have to be prepared to get messy as well.. when Bree plays with paint.. she gets afraid of the feeling of it on her hand and start grabbing me.. and yes.. My face, clothes both top and bottom, hair, neck, hands and legs are decorated artistically with her hand prints.. hehe...

what i meant about the trials is that.. in the even that you mommies do want to sign up for classes then must have a good caregiver to go with bb.

else spend money to go for trials. then if want to sign up but no one to bring babies there so.. redundant lor..
 
speaking of library, I have been so tempted to do one for her but worried about her pulling them of the shelves and hurting herself. So my plans are temporarily shelved, pardon the pun.

Had the evening to myself unexpectedly so I picked up the cups already. Sharlin, yours is reserved under your name at the shop, please let them know if you décidé not to take it? Can see if
other mums here want it as well.

Got all the babies some organic biscuits while I was there so if you see them at the gathering, please don't be shy and take one! I wish I could afford something substantial but hope you accept this token from A and I. Feel so lucky to share in these precious experiences with many of you. It has definitely made motherhood more enjoyable.
 
By the way, anyone bought crayons for your little one yet? Am so tempted to buy child safe playdough and crayons but not sure if it's age appropriate and if it will create too much mess

pseed:: trishelle is playing with crayola from her bro's collection since like quite some time ago, since she was 10 months. got them the big butcher paper or big mahjong paper so they just sit on it and doodle all they want. As for playdoh, she plays with them too but not quite like the touch of it. so for now, still crayons. and as for crayola paints, it's a NO NO for her for now, cause as it is for her bro to play alone, its a total mess so i cannot imagine if she has a part too.
