hope mummies will have a great time tomorrow at dim sum....

bumbo.. i actually did bring it over to AVON Malaysia (the shop i frequent every month to collate my colleagues's orders to make my son sit on it while i packed all the stuff) it worked great to buy some time like alfafa said

idlecat.... my son still can sit on it now as he has no thunder thighs .. oh well.. son my bb is gonna wear same size M diapers as him liao

Sat nite had a shivering body and fever coming up.. hated that feeling and sort of remembered what alfafa mentioned gg through. prayed hard that i dont suffer the same thins.. even as i put bb to lay on his playpen... my head gg kong with terrible headache and B3 didnt want to sleep...my throat hurts so bad in the morning scare that my tonsilitis acted up...wah sey... managed to sleep after B3 at 4am.. fortunately woke up on Sun... feeling much better

btw just asking mummies.. as i usually have panadol extra on hand only for hb and mum who need it.. can we take it if we are on full BM or should i just s/by just normal white panadol... was so tempted to pop 2 panadol extra when i felt so terrible only to be reminded i was breastfeeding....

Starflower, Seabreeze,
Hope you have a smooth day at work
happy.gif
It will be my turn this Friday! Boo.

Ida,
Panadol extra contains a bit of caffeine for fast relief of headache. So, it depends on how particular you are. To me, it is safe enough to take when the need arises even though breastfeeding. But if your baby is the ultra sensitive type, you may want to avoid it.

jtho: welcome back...maybe i can go over meet u one of these days to collect my sophie?? u let me know when u convenient k...no hurry...elixir keep putting everything in his mouth so thinking it would be cute to see him stuff the giraffe inside...saw daphne's ugin sucking it, so cute...

If you are interested in getting a yao lan stand w/o wheels, can PM me. I have a brand new set to let go cheaper.

Talking about bumbo..

Was quite tempted to get a new one until my hubby's colleague aggressively told me not to. Her elder daughter fell down, head down when she was 4 months old. Quite a bad scare for all and she really regretted it. She said it happened so fast tt she din even yell or scream. Her daughter was so badly shaken tt until now, she will not sit on a high chair

Dear Mummies,

Remember that I posted here regarding my son being too used to YL? I am very happy that he can survive without YL in infantcare after only 1 day! Now he sleeps on mattress at night.

Therefore, I am selling my YL away. It is less than 4 mths old. Those with rollers. Bought it at $80. Intend to sell at $60 and comes with 3 pcs of nettings. Self collection at my place (punggol). Do PM me if you are interested.

daphne,
my boy also decreased his milk intake recently, but think these few days back to normal again. Think its just a phase ;)

Just an update on my boy...he went for his 2nd 6-1jab last fri. Thank god this time round no fever...not sure if its due to he 1 teaspoon of paosheng water I fed him the day b4 or as the PD says, some babies have it easier the 2nd time round. Anyways, he is now 6.6kg at 3 mths. PD says bb wt growth will slow as compared to earlier mths. I asked her for milk intake guideline and she gave me a formula:
120ml-150ml/kg/day. So my boy's milk intake now slightly below, but think as long as he is contented.

Holiday trip:
Mummies, me now in dilemma whether to proceed with our hol plans to phuket in early Jul or change destination to bintan. Sigh, was really looking forward to a short getaway w/o baby, now with the escalating cases in Thailand, having 2nd thots, though its mainly concentrated in Bangkok. Was telling hubby if no baby, we sure go ahead one cos even S'pore itself now already over 100 cases. But since we are now parents, gotta consider for BB as think we need to quarantine ourselves for a few times even though we r ok, so mil/ my mum has to take care of him for addn few more days. What shld I do???

sun - i suggest u look for 2nd hand one thr the WTB/WTS section. no point getting many brand new yaolan since our bb may outgrow quite fast. I also got a 2nd hand one at $35 including net n spring at my place. Then my mum's place, she bought a new one from msia which is also abt SG$50 only.

queenie - u not getting jumperoo liaoz?

jtho - welcome back...guess u will need some time to adjust ur bio-clock again

ida - wa...so much things going on...u better take good care of urself then.

any mummies done Tai mao bi for baby? Thinking of shaving his hair cos he is really perspiring lots these days, all head all wet and even sweat beads on his arms when drinking milk. And he scratches his head. Any recommendation for Tai mao bi?

Jo, I know what you mean, our meeting used to stretch for hours and can be so draggy and boring. I hate attending meeting like these, simply a waste of time.

grace,
for e.g. my baby is 6.6kg. So minimally, he shld be drinking 120ml*6.6=792ml per day. Higher end of the range is 150ml*6.6=990ml per day. Divide it by 30 to convert to oz and divide by # of feeds a day to determine how much he shld be drinking per feed. Hope this helps

hi teddybaby
previously my PD adviced that bb should consume about 100ml-150ml/kg/day, so i thought my bb is alright as he was already drinking close to 700ml at 2.5mths (6.5kg)... now at 3.5mths, he starts to be easily distracted, or maybe due to teething, his milk intake has been reduced to around 650ml.
but these 2 days, there's a further drop to about 550ml, i think it is due to jetlag
happy.gif
will monitor for 1 week and see if his milk intake will resume back to normal...

hi jtho,
ya, these days my boy also starts to get distracted easily. My PD says babies who are distracted easily unlikely to put on as much wt as those who can drink consistently

Pumpkin, can you pass my sophie to Kris instead of Jo as she wont be coming for the dim sum. Thanks!
happy.gif

Kris, thanks for the help, let me know when can collect the wetbag and sophie from you. Can pm me your number.

Hi teddybaby,
Thanks... =)

Hmm...but tat is if they are on the bottle for 100% of the time, if not, will be difficult to gauge.

For Ryan, he takes abt 5 bottles a day (when I'm back at work) & the rest of the time (nite), I will latch him directly.

ooh I just received my Mummycents wetbag, it's nice! Anyone else got theirs from Mummycents or Joann already?
Can't wait to use it. Ran out of Paragon plastic bags already he he

Now I quite worried about Eddric's intake. He also decrease his milk intake from last weekend. At first, he was drinking a lot. Now it's pathetic. It's only 100 - 120 ml every 3.5 hours. A great drop from 150 ml every 3.5 hours. If I used the milk intake calculation, he is really not drinking his amount. He's 7.3 kg, so should be taking 730 ml minimum.. I think he only took 650 - 700 ml now.. Should I consult a PD?

Another thing.. He was happily switching to bottle but now he always cries when I give the bottle but will happily latch on. Anyone facing the same thing?

thanks teddybaby for the calc tip, very useful
happy.gif

From there i estimate Keenan is overdrinking coz my mum LOVES to stuff him with a lot of milk every 3 hourly when he's not even crying for milk yet!

jtho - welcome home jean!!!!!!!!! *kirsten virtual hugs & snuggles Olivier* =P hahaha!

pumpkin/kris - what time wil u be at orc until? when im done at usim, il go ovr to look for u... btw, kris - do u have my wetbags olredi? thank you so much for coordinating and collectin on our behalf. appreciate it loads!!!! also to pumpkin for the sophie!! *kirsten hugs both aunties* hee hee

milk intake - kirsten's intake has also decreased frm 120mls to 60-90mls... depends on her mood... i think it might be a phase the babies r goin thru? since so many of us experiencing the same thing. heh heh heh

Kat,
Its also my first time meeting all the mummies tomorrow hahahaaa... but i'm sure i wont miss the big group of pretty mummies.

Queenie,
Do we meet at Mariott lobby first or go straight in to the cafe?
happy.gif
of cos its fine to split the cost heehee.

Missycandy,
Ahhh, you cant make it for lunch liao? Oh was so hoping to meet you. Don't think I'll stay past 2.30 or 3pm cos going for spa with hubby after that... hahahaa... ya, hope they can massage away my fat tummy filled with all the dim sum!

Can any experienced mummies advised re Thermos mini shuttle chef? Is this really good for cooking on-the-go i.e. porridge for babies? I saw a BP on this and wondering if this is the really brand that can do cooking on-the-go.

mummies,

Just finish unpacking my stuff cos my dept shifted office while i was on ml. No email n internet for now cos password all expired le haha now using hp to post this msg. Keep drink9 lots of water so tt can pump milk heehee

Not bad still got big meeting room outside for me to use, they told me got another meeting room tt is currently reserved for pumping too heehee

Teddybaby,

I shaved shao han hair for tai mao bi too. Think only 1 shop in sg, they have 2 outlets. One opp tmc n the other one in kkh. Did for both my boy

jtho,

my gal also veyr distracted nowadays when i give her the bottle, she very busy looking ard so bottle feedsometimes take an hr but she would usually manage to finish her feed, just slow. So u can imagine how much i hate bottle feeding. Latching on 15 mins... now i want to get her used to bottle feed, end up pump 30 mins and feed 30 mins, damn sian!

Oh yah! Go out more in the day to get over jet lag although i know u wanna quarantine urself now.. heh...

Asura,

Is the Jumperoo's packaging big ?
My sis coming back from US next mth, not sure if it's too big for her to carry back to SG for me .. haha

Asura,
Hi-Five!!!!

I really dread feeding him these days bcos he's like taking 'forever' to finish his feed.....hee~~

Hi teddybb,

Tks for e calculation...u sure help many clueless us to gauge if e bb is drinking enuf...
happy.gif

regarding milk intake, i face similar problems like many of u...this is wat i observe...

a. he resists milk bottle all e way lately...i use to give him milk bottle feed in e day...latch on @ nite...now itz e reverse...bf in e day; nite can take bottle...haiz...

b. milk intake ranges frm 100-120; last time can still hit 150ml occasionally...

c. Can sleep for 4 hr interval after a 100-120ml; seems to like sleep more than makan...!

d. drools more n likes to place fist/fingers near his mouth to suck

e. he 'learns' to use his hands to push e bottle if don feel like drinking...

though he eats less, much can c his pattern on EASY more often now; now is EAS...very little Y...he sleeps qite a bit in e day...bet 9-12pm; then 2-4pm (typical day if he feels sleepy)

My mom tinks itz cos his teething...i really not sure...my next pd appt is in early Jul...will ask this when we visit...

hmmm...mayb gd to read up on e net to b more informed...

btw...when is it considered ok to intro cereal/ powder form to bbs while drinking milk? I hav a cousin tat intros this while her daughter is 2mths old...i thot bb stomach not ready yet? Not tat i wan to intro but if bb not drinking much this phase, hope to find an alternative soon...besides, i getting back to work in 1 more mth...
happy.gif

tks! wooo...seems like MOE is seriously contemplating postponing e start of school term due to e H1N1...dunno how serious it can b...poor bbs...they cant go out so much liao...poor us too, as if we kena, then bb very jialat lor...

re: drinking less/sleeping more/change pattern/etc

Wah! Thank goodness I am not the only one with this problem when BB started to act like this for about a week until a few days ago - sleeping a lot in the day time despite taking in like 20-30 mls less per feed, and going for 4 hour stretches instead of 3 now. Also not pooing everyday as usual. Not to mention the night sleep patterns completely upside down!!! Unfortunately I have not been able to find out why this is so, except I can only assume that it's because now is the period when things are really changing - motor development and awareness increasing a LOT now, and nearing the 3-4 mths mark, their sleep pattern also changing to accomodate longer sleep hours (probably needs more rest cos now hitting milestones) and bigger feeding interval. Guess it is a transition period. Looking at the growth charts, this is also the period when weight gain dramatically slows down, probably from all the motor activity too, so it sort of makes sense.

Anyway wanna reassure u mummies that wrt feeding my boy has increased his intake again after more than a week of this pattern change, but now because every 4 hrs, I have consciously put 10 mls more per feed than what he was taking before this pattern disruption. Now the only reason he dun finish all is because he too distracted and milk went cold, or he too full and refluxing, as usual... But yes he does need a lot of coaxing to finish the last 10-20mls nowadays too. Cannot force if he dowan to take more lah.

Oh and the bedtime feed? He downed 200mls once and went 8 solid hours sleeping.... O_O
