hi i read somewhere tat bbs feast on hands or fists for self soothing; oso a way of exploring e world tat they noe...

bad habit but i wonder wat happens when we stop them frm doing so? I used to attend one psychology module on special needs. There is a profile on adults who exhibit peculiar traits...guess wat itz cos somewhere down their infant stage, their parents bypass some devts or forbid some devts to take itz natural course...tink itz best we read up 1st b4 deciding on any course of action...

Ann...u not e only one, my boi still wakes up once or twice for feeds...sometimes itz temperament...sometimes itz jus some bbs favour sleep over makan? I noe of bbs who sleep little over e day or take little naps then they sleep more @ nite...oso my boi not e big appetite type...so to give a bigger than usual pre midnite feed not possible too...he jus cant finish all...

missycandy, Kayle also eats her fist and fingers. I realised when she is sleepy or hungry, she will do tat. But not i know she will vomit. Think it is alright cos they dun know how deep they tuck it in..

For those who is scared of using YL, no problem. Just put baby in then light swing will do so that next time they won't be too rely on YL.
My baby can sleep YL and cot too, so no problem.
 
for those mommies who shave your babies hair.
normally we will shave when the baby is 4 months old.
question is, do we need to do it the actual day when he/she turns 4 months old? or just any day?

I have 1 Similac infant formula (900g), not opened yet. Just bought on Fri, 12 Jun. Yesterday I just switch to soy milk for my girl as she is having watery stools (have tried soy for her for 1 week, stools better but after switch back to Similac, stools watery again).

Maybe I will go TPY to check it out. Sassybaby says Ba Wang not bad leh. I always thought it's just tonic, didn't know they sell shampoo too. WOnder if it's any good. Hee hee, after seeing kirsten's pic before she cries, i kept looking out for that expression on my girl too! Bad mommy hor!!
 
Pei...i read more on TH 1st then share...very interesting...;) e brief description is to hav a schedule whereby a 4 mth old bb can sleep for say 4 hrs as e assumption tat he is a better eater so can afford to sleep more...tat means more time for us...hurray!

Oh ya, this talk abt YL, on e other side of e coin, ani1 has bb who all e way not reqd to sleep yl n can sleep on cots/beds for long periods...? Ur bb is definitely an angel wor...

Seabreeze, outing cancelled? I was asking hb last night if I could skip cooking dinner and bring the 2 kids out to the gathering tmr! have not been to any of the gathering cuz too far. Now just next street so thought want to bring them out on my own. Would be the 1st trip out with 2 kids!

re: garnier shampoo

Can only be found in guardian pharmacies and it's white in colour. Very rare coz' always no stock. It states very clearly it's a hairloss shampoo. Not the green one

why did the eye doc ask u to wear glasses for 2 mths prior to doing lasik? I'm also wearing hard lens, cos its suppose to help stabilize the short-sightedness and also better for the eyes as its gas permeable, i.e.oxygen for the eyes
 
tusky, my boy can sleep without YL. Find that he sleeps longer when tummy down. so nowadays, daytime, we let him sleep tummy down.
 
funny leh...i BF but i dun feel hungry one is it becos i never pump frequently or becos i always never empty my breast?

I am also going back to work on 22 June. Now regretted not taking the full 16weeks ML. I took 14 weeks and stagger the rest of the two weeks. Planning to take every Fri off but once gone back to work, this plan may not work out if there are urgent work to be done. Hiazz...I even have the thought of resigning but need the money, bo bian. I have been so depress since last week leh...the thought of going back to work 'saddens' me.

about putting hands in their mouth.. a sign that bb is learning to use hands to eat.. i watch discovery channel documentary about something like that/ Its like preparing bb for the next stage
 
My boy has also been putting his hand into his mouth, started with licking his fist, then sucking fingers and now, he seems like "digging" his gums whenever he suck his fist.

Long time never post here le...
My boy also started sucking his fist since last 2 to 3 weeks ago. The sucking sound is so loud that I have been woken by him at night when he is awake.. and not woke up by his cry.. Haha.. I will tell him sucking fist is not right and then stare at him with a stern look. He will automatic take out his fist from his mouth... I really wonder he understand me or not...

Dont think my shoulders are broad. I think my shoulders are thick. I not sure whether i wanna buy clothes here cos i always tend to forget that weather in SG is humid so the clothes here might not be suitable for SG, becomes very clingy back in SG. Would see how.. i hope to get back to my pre-pregnnacy weight but dont know how long it would take me.. heh. Bought a lot of maternity/nursing clothes from MOtherhood maternity though. To facilitate pumping when i get back to work.. not too bad.. hee

Maybe he understands from ur tone of voice that it is something that he shouldnt do. Me also wake up at nite due to my gal sucking fist, then i would feed her immediately. Cos currently, she sucks her fist/fingers when she is hungry or sleepy.
 
hmmm dunno leh.. only recently then she starts choking and vomitting.. previously when she put her fingers or fist doesnt have this effect leh... hmmm... my dad says maybe she is teething.. i tried to look inside but cnt reli see anything? HB did comment that can see something white the right side of her lower gum... but i cnt really see because of her saliva... lol! will try again later...

we nw smack her hand lo... think she is slowly learning... then she will look at us... we will tell her No putting hand in mouth... then she guai guai for awhile... but then will put her hand in again... hahaha! the 1st time i smacked her hand, she give me the sad face & started crying!!! make me feel so bad! =( but nw okie liao... lol.. i dont smack hard la..

LOL.. i bought the holder to fit onto the bottle... so far she can only hold 1 side.. cnt hold 2 sides at the same time... sometimes she will also hold the bottle.. but she will also push the bottle away... -_-" anyway, nw when we eat in front of her, she wil keep on staring at us... hahaha.. anyway 4mths cn start on some rice cereal le... which is ard 3more weeks la.. heh heh...

jo - ahhh paiseh ah.. tot the shampoo is the green one.. becos i searched online they showed that one.. but they also show that its for hair volume... hmmm... guardian ah.. maybe later il go see... thanks!!! =)

eh there is a BP ongoing for hair loss as well.. dunno wad to buy or not.. Jo, hw much u buy the garnier shampoo?
 
Asura, my boy suck his fist not becos he is hungry... more like he is bored. Cos when I try to feed him... he will smile and not sucking on the teats. Making me "又好气又好笑".

1. Hairloss
I'm going thru it now. Run my fingers thru my hair & oh dear...can see at least 2 to 3 strands.

2. Fists in mouth
After reading from here tat it's self soothing..I let him do it!

3. Knowing that we are fierce
I think babies are getting smarter. That night, he wasnt drinking his milk...i raised my voice & he cried...hee~~

4. Weightgain for baby
Hmm...his weight seem to stay stagnant (if not oni gained abt 300gms) since last visit to PD 3 weeks ago...is it normal?

5. Direct Latch
My baby doesnt seem to latch on longer than 5 mins during the midnight feeds. Does it happen to any mummies?

6. Introduction to solids
When will you mummies be introducing???

Oh! Ur son is still awake at nite! Cos my bb would only wake for feeds at nite. Heh.. then i guess it is time to put bb in another room so that bb dont interrupt ur sleep unnecessarily.
 
grace - wow 2-3 only ah? mine is one bunch de leh... *soBz* can see my hair much thinner.. plus balding le... then every morning wake up... see pillow and bed many strands... then my floor also alot... comb my hair a lot come out 1 time... =(

I think if ur PD is not worried, u shoudlnt be. If u have not go to a PD, could be due to different weighing scale.

RE: Introduction to solids

Read that bbs first start by showing interest in what u are putting into ur mouth. Then they would learn how to lick their lips. I think about this time, u can intro some freshly squeezed juice or puree by applying on bb's lips. After that see how it goes, i would only intro when bb is ready. My bb has started looking at us eat just last week. Nowadays she even knows that i am eating cos she would not demand that i carry her when i am eating as long as i stop once a while to make conversation with her. My guess is that when bb starts to pick and put things other than their fists/fingers into their mouth for licking, they are ready to try food.

PD visit will be 2 weeks later so will see what he says...hee~ Just abit worried becos for the 1st 2 mths, his weight gain was more &amp; faster...heee~~

if wanna add FM to EBM, how to go abt it huh? need some advise... eg, i've 5 oz EBM, if i wanna make it to 6 oz, how to go abt adding in the FM to make it 6 oz?

I also wonder if I can add them together into a bottle but my PD advised me to give it to the baby separately. My hb said our PD a bit kia si one lor. Eg she also say it's best to not keep EBM in the fridge for more than 36 hours.

Just when everyone is worried that Ryan is not pooing as regularly (daily) for the past 2 weeks....he is pooing after every feed these 2 days.....aiyo....so how often should he be pooing??? sigh.....
 


My baby have her vaccine injections on her thighs last Sat and today both her thighs got some rashes.
Anybody baby the same?
