Do u all scrub the teats with a brush? yesterday while washing, hb told me dun use the brush to scrub as it will cause scratches....but i tried to use hand to rub but it still feels oily...

For those mummies who tried mdm rokiah, did u all had a drop of milk ss the next day or so? I wonder whether it will come back up again...hopefully. And also my breasts feel pretty achy...i'm wondering if it is cos of the hot stone she used to massage my breasts. Hmm....

Re: Frozen EBM
Haiz my boy is now fussy over frozen milk...he kept crying and pushing the bottle away while i was feeding him just now...i thought he wasn't that fussy but i was wrong...so i decided to mix fresh one with the frozen one. At first he was still making a fuss but eventually settled down to drinking it....so i think now he doesn't like frozen milk..wondering if future if i stop pumping all those frozen milk might just go to waste...

Prosper - i jus realised my boy has terribloe heat rash on his neck too....see him so poor thing...i guess its just the humid weather...is there any cream i should apply or just use a damp cloth to wipe it so as to cool him down? Poor bb...

I do use the brush to scrub. I feel that it is more easier to clean inside.

You can try the red can powder, my son also got heat rash near his neck and my mum use that to apply and the next day all the heat rash are gone.

You're welcome. My PD did mention that in order not to waste our precious BM, we should try to feed BM then FM. What one of my gf did was that she alternated her feeds between FM and BM. However if you wish to mix FM and BM in a bottle its also fine.

My girl also been having neck rash. I tried applying calendular cream and baby powder but only slightly better, skin still quite rough and red sometimes. Then, I applied Dr Lily Aloe Vera gel (just received it few days ago) and it almost disappeared the next day, the skin nice & soft again

Thanks also to Alfafa for giving me the additional info, luckily Pearlyn was there today. And good thing I went down myself, cos Paradise colour didnt really turn out to be what I wanted so I got the Mocca Rouge cos its sooooo pretty & colourful. Wore the carrier back on the spot :p

I do use the Pigeon brush to "brush" the bottles every 2 days. Didnt brush it everyday cos I heard we've to replace the bottles once scratched. I try to soak it in the soap for about half hour and also use my fingers but cant reach the bottom of the bottle LOL so its still a little oily.

I tried Fitti but still prefer Petpet. Using Petpet in the day and Goon in the night. I love Goon but its getting more & more expensive

Pigeon sells a sponge type of teat cleaner. It is a piece of sponge that is shaped to fit into the teat to clean. I have used uncountable numbers of these since my #1 days. As they are sponge material, they will spoil faster than brush but like what your hubby is concern about, we didn't want micro scratches to be made on the inner side of the teats which will end up trapping bacterial. It comes in 2 in a pack... I cannot remember how much between $4 - 5, I think.

For heat rash, try using clean water/thermal water (like Avene)/water with some Lactycyd to wipe then dry thoroughly before applying some calendula cream. It usually goes away very fast. But the most important thing is let baby remain cool.

Avene water can be bought from Guardian or even Metro, I think. Mine is from Guardian. Lactycyd cannot be used neat. Just a few drops in a small basin of water. When bathing the baby, I will usually "flip" the baby such that the baby is tummy down position with her chin resting on my wrist. That is when I use the other hand to wash and wipe the back of the neck. If you are not confident in doing that, when baby is lying down, just turn baby to right side then wipe the back of the neck, then turn baby to left side and wipe the other side of neck

i turn my avent silicon teats inside out to wash. haven't gone misshapened and flow still the same.

pups- ya i use the same method as yours to bath bb...in which case i find it easier to clean the back of his neck...its the front part which is trickier...v tight to wash it thoroughly...use hands is easier than the hanky preferably.

areys - yr method is correct as that was wat mrs wong advised to do...but i personally felt it was quite difficult to turn the teats from inside out as the teat tends to rebound back to its original shape. The outer part is ok to wash, its the tip part that is harder to reach...

mixing fm w thawed ebm sounds a plausible idea, if not, one can spoon feed e bb w ebm...otherwise so wasted ya?

tusky - i doubt my boy is able to take the spoon...haha...cos its the taste i guess....yup it is good to mix frozen EBM with fresh one...works quite well....cos earlier my MIL did not mix my frozen EBM with the fresh one since the frozen one was not yet thawed when i did tell her previously can thaw under cold running water to fasten the process...well, i ended up throwing 130ml of frozen EBM away.

areya - ya haha! i sometimes use my last finger and forcefully stick it into the tip to wash...lol..

i'm using pigeon wide bottle too... currently still using size S teat for my boi... recently bought the BPA free bottle w Y teat, not yet try out on my boi as Y teat meant for 3 mths above bb... i might give it a try next wk to see whether he's ok w the Y teat...

i backside itchy. sometimes i feel that pikkolo abit warm esp when using it outdoor lor.

one difference is pikkolo can carry face out and hip carrying but connecta cant.

other then that, i donno wad are the difference liao. muz ask mommies who have tried both ..

i have already stock up 5packs(44) pampers active, 1 bigger pack of pampers active and 1 pack of mamy poko all size m.. think im crazy.

and pls don think that a expensive carrier is a must. doesnt mean buy pikkolo or beco or wadever means gd mom.. its not ok! if u think this way , i also a bad mommie liaos. coz my son no private car to sit to go gai gai.. he have to tk public tpt. hehe tell u , so far, i only bought 1 or 2 rompers for tristan. coz he wear hand me down clothes and i use the $ to spend on the other areas lor.

I know it's human nature to compare but pls don't. Spending more or less $$ on baby is a personal preference; it doesn't make anyone any more or any less of a mother. However, I always stress that it is very important to budget and always spend within one's means. Never ever be tempted to go beyond that, if not even if you make a 5 figure salary a month you will still not have enough to pay for basic household bills. I come from a humble background myself; dad was a rag and bone man, mom was a seamtress and with 3 of us to bring up there really wasn't much to spare. At one stage they were illegal hawkers at Rochor Canal's Thieves Market, where they had to run from cops. Furthermore dad was jobless when I was born, so my mom had to cycle from Toa Payoh to Kallang to work as a factory girl even when she was heavily pregnant with me. She hardly ever spent on us simply because there wasn't much except for food. But did she love us? damn right she did. And she did a fine job too; all of us graduated from uni (impt to my mom lah) and did very well for ourselves career wise... ahem ... until this daughter decided to be a SAHM that is.

Be proud of your achievements; handling 4 kids is no easy feat. Be wise in how you allocate family budget; I assure you that an exp carrier is not necessary. Lastly, be happy; don't compare. If not I also die already since I cannot afford to hire maid, send bb to exp child care next time, or buy brand new toys for her.

re: avene water (for babies)
very hard to buy this. You can't get this at just any guardian. I know because my hubby went to soooo many guardians and all they always say the same thing ... either at KKH or at don't know which branch in town. By the way, During the recent metro expo sale they were selling two big bottles together for $29.90. According to the staff there usual price for one bottle is $26+ so that was a real bargain. I only wanted one bottle actually but had to buy a set. Anyone wants to share? BNIB $15.

hahahha can sense your happiness just by reading your post. Hahahah good thing you went down personally. I didn't like any of their prints at first, prefer beco's. but because I die die want the additional carrying styles I grudgingly made a trip down to the shop to try. That was when I saw the prints in real and man did I fall in love with my mocca rouge. So that means when we next have a gathering you will see 2 paradise, 2 cloud, 2 orbit, 1 jewel, 4 mocca rouge and one more don;t know what. Did you get the support belt? With the belt it is much more comfortable, but nursing become a bit more mafan as it makes it less easy to lower baby. Plus I very vain lah, prefer not to have somethign hanging around my waist while I can still take her weight by my shoulders alone. =p

I heard from many mommies who tried mdm rokiah's service that MS will indeed go down for 2-3 days but will increase after that. I don;t know if mine went down because I have only pumped once after that, but only for a short time to soften my breasts, didn;t empty them.

As for the tingling sensation yah I get that too! I suspect it is due to our breasts is slowly filling up (let down) with milk again after Mdm Rokiah cleared away the blocked ducts? She did say that is the reason why our MS will go down at first.

so sorry! nearly got you into buying a bb bjorn! Am serious about bb bjorn's air being cooling but didn't do any prior research on carriers until much later. Which was why I also bought one based on my friends' recommendation. Only learnt about the bb hanging by the crouch thing after I researched on carriers. Then again, I also know many people who swear by their baby bjorn (my friend for example) so again it is a personal preference I guess.

As for original GD cards. VEry vwey very exp leh. $1500 for a full set comprising of GD Eng, Mandarin and Maths kits. They will conduct classes to teach parents the proper way to flash cards. You can google glenn doman singapore. Or you can buy 2d hand off this forum. A lot of mommies selling.

You must be exhausted. Poor thing. Really tough on 2nd time or 4th time moms like you, pups, ida, kome etc etc. Don;t know how you guys find the energy to entertain a baby plus toddler at the same time. Honestly, sometimes I already feel like dying over here lor. Like today, she had a couple of crying and screaming fits. Aiiii already cannot tahan

I am dying here. My older one woke up fussing cos he seems to have some mucus in his nose which he doesn't know how to deal with. So I have to encourage him to blow it out, which irritates him so much he cries. Then the younger one is in the mood of spitting out her bedtime pacifier repeatedly tonight and crying for me to put it back into her mouth. I have to do this part fast cos they are in the same room as me now as we are bunking in my parents' place. In between all these I have to keep running to the toilet to wash my hands with dettol handwash to prevent passing any bugs from my older one to my younger one. *faint*

yah yah I agree with Tusky. I think bb will have wind in the stomach no matter what. So rather than restrict our diet, it's better to just take normal food in moderation. Too taxing to have to remember so many things liao.

aiyo why your SIL like that? Esp when she is not even experienced with babies herself. Empty vessels make the most noise! I find it very strange that others will take it upon themselves to tell me how I should bring up my child lor, but what to do? Esp when they are well meaning friends, MIL, SIL, my own mother and aunties passing by for example. I also had a run in with my SIL a few weeks ago. She has a 2 year plus girl. We generally get alone fine and she is really a nice person. But she did something that really rubbed me off the wrong way recently. I have no problem respecting her faith (hers is abit mixed between taoism, buddhism and chinese superstition), all I ask is for her to respect mine (christianity) too. She has this bad habit of going to my bb girl and teasing her to say Amitaba non stop. Even after I tried to tell her nicely but firmly that I would like her to stop doing that, she still didn;t get it. Kept repeating to me that she has no problem sending her girl to an "Amen" school where she learns to say amen plus sing christian song... implying that I am being unreasonable. Wah biang .. cannot take it.

Alternative is one sleep with my parents. I do not want that cos knowing my mum, she will be too anxious over the child to sleep well herself. So, I rather they sleep well and can help me with the kids in the day. Anyway, I have survived the past 3 nights on my own like that. I can do it tonight as well! Haha. Good training for our trip next week. All in one hotel room anyway.

Thanks for the hand sanitizer offer. I do have that at home but somehow it didn't dawn on me to use it cos I don't like the feeling it leaves on the hand. :p Ok. I know. Beggers can't be choosers.

do rem to apply lots of body lotion on yourself and bb too. Think us Singaporeans cannot take the dry weather. I always get cracked heels when I go to the states. And I came back from my last trip with a terrible cough that lasted for 2 mths. Could't take the weather plus not enough water.

oh I see. Good point. I read about the steep learning curve but it seems that they all gave raving reviews on mei tai baby after all. Hmmm maybe I should go back there and try the elleroo. I agree with what the lady said about the benefits leh. But I am also worried that like what you said, I cannot handle holding bb up plus tie straps at the same time. yah yah ... even as I type I am convinced that I will go down again to try the elleroo. Yah like you I probably will pump after she first goes to bed at night too. That is the only time she sleeps 4 hours in a stretch. During the day I can still get away with not pumping cos she hardly sleeps and wants to be nursed all the time. At least now I make sure that she drinks for at least 15min to 20min each time rather than snack 5 mins here and there.

yah man pumping plus latching is damn siong. I cannot sustain one so don;t even want to try. Will just pump once a day, at night after she sleeps. So cute. Your baby instinctively know that it's daddy. I believe they can recognise daddy's voice. So sweet

aiyo you went to LCs? Heard terrible things about them leh, like using needles to poke your nipple to open eyelets. Yiiiiiiiiiiikes. I rather suffer than go to them. NExt time (touch wood) try mdm rokiah. Much more effective and less painful I am sure. She managed to open two more eyes without any use of needles. I also don;t know how she did it. She showed me how many jets (= eyelets) I have by squeezing hard, then she worked her magic and asked me to look again. Wow really more jets.

I don;t think I can even do the morning pump cos once she wakes up in the morning she will nurse round the clock. Frozen milk also ok one lah. No doubt fresh is best but I don;t think it's possible for working moms to avoid giving chilled or thawed frozen milk wor. Even for me, there will be tmes when I give her that too despite being a SAHM.

thanks. i tried teat size 2 sometime back when he's juz past 2 mths but realised he got lots of wind thereafter and the flow too fast for him. so sticking to teat size 1. guess diff bbs diff so must adapt to our bb rather than stick to follow the recommendations. my boy has the click click sound too, i tot he was playing with the teat like what cindy said :p

you are one remarkable mummy not to one but to four bbs so give yourself a huge hug! as a ftm, i tend to overbuy a bit coz ks and not sure so dun want to let my bb boy missed out, buy buy buy. oso coz luckily in this sense, is working now so can afford to buy. of coz i console myself can keep for #2 hee. you are already the mother of 4, so def will buy less but as a woman, the urge to buy is still there. can understand that, hey sourcing for the cheaper deals is smart and definitely good for your kids too! at least you are teaching them by example of how to save and yet being able to get the things you want at the same time. also, you wun get regrets from impulse buying hee. hugs dear, dun tink you are worst off k. all of us are diff but all trying our best to be the best mummy to our little darlings

haha.. u mean get the 6m size from the fitti company or wts mommy? so far oni me n pinkdemoness getting..
u noe tristan still using size S .. so i donno if the size M will be very big for him or not. haha.. my house is full of diapers.. my sil oso stocked up pureen diapers.
