missycandy, u so fast buy the Why DVDs already? Ohhh...I think I'm getting them for my elder who's turning 4 this X'mas. Seabreeze, saw that u are getting also? I'm getting a set, u want to share? If not, ok with me too. I'm staying Bishan so just thought if you want to pool to make 2 sets then we can get it at $55 each set.

alfafa, hope u are getting better. These few afternoons are blazing hot. Got to drink more water and get more rest and most importantly nurse more often.

If buy all my milk bottles, a milk warmer bag is given FREE!!

alfafa,

Oh dear.. I hope u r feeling better now! It must be awful falling sick and looking after Grace at the same time. We, mothers really cannot fall sick. Do see a doctor if your condition persists. Like some mothers say here, nurse frequently and compress or get ur hubby to massage for u.

Ida,
Don't b too upset! Sunshine appears after each storm. I'm sure things will look better for u from nw.. Let us know if u need any help

alfafa: Poor u... hop eu get better soon. Mothers are really very 伟大(selfless, great.. etc. Loose english translation for Ida)

hoho: I'm not sure. My boy is a gan cheong spider, like me. He finishes his milk in 10 mins. As for the burping, sometimes he burps immediately. Sometimes takes a few minutes. I don't time. If he doesn't burp, I'll just carry him upright walk around the house til he burps.

Bras: Ya. The TMC parentcraft nurse even tightened my bra's shoulder straps to provide better support for the "ladies". I had not realised that I was wearing them too loose.

missycandy: I couldn't log on as often because I find my baby getting closer to the maid and forgetting me. So now I look after him whole day now til I go back to work on 10th June.

Connecta: MIssycandy's latest purchase made me tempted to get an upright carrier too. I find my baby often end up being very slouched in my Balboa carrier. He would start out like that
2490734.jpg

but after walking for some time, he will end up hunched inside.

But Connecta can't face frontwards right?

Ida: What does down must come up. Things will get better. (hugs)

Baby crying oredi. COme back later

Wish all mummies will recover soon.

Lipstar
Maybe that is one of the reason that missycandy got herself connecta and wanted to sell off her balboa sling.

Jo,

Is your Gerber breast therapy those pads that can be heated up and use as hot compress? If yes, I don't mind buying them off you.

Pups, would you like to order the wipes? can add on to my order. but pm me your hp so tat i can let you know how much they are selling at.

Sunshinebaby,

Brianne has to sleep in aircon room.. cos of eczema.. if weather gets too hot.. the rashes will come back.

now i will have to apply moisturiser for her.. whole body.. face to toe.. haiz..

grace - u order frm who? also the lady frm the link i posted?

ehh..... i bought connecta becos i felt tt i need to even out the weight of my bb le.. hehehe... if carry kirsten too long in the balboa, shoulder wil tend to ache... no joke leh... 5kg+ leh... anyway, balboa is gd for newborns in the initial stage... i probably wil keep it for my no2 =P hahaha... but once bb is more comfy in the outside world, can start using other carriers le.. this is my own pov.. =P

jo - ur nestle milk container is it 3 or 4 compartments? =P i bought the noah bottles frm KP last week or the week b4... ard $12 also.. =P

fairymoss - for the dvd tell me why, i can ask her if cn share with me la... but u collect at TPY.. im getting 3 sets frm her... shld nt be a problem leh.... help u save $3 =P haha

i went to the thomson plaza to try the mei tai. I find that it's not easy to use especially with such a young baby. As Zac is cranky, I din get to try the pikkolo.

sad.gif
).. sorry ahh may not seem so much to brag abt.. but accomplishment for me leh... thanks to mummies who inspired me at sassy's gathering.. but next time.. sure i bring cardigan.jacket to cover one.. but if got this poncho.. will do also
happy.gif

Oh ya now that Idar mantion,
Saw Isetan having sales on tube dresses at various designs at $9.90 each at Isetan Parkway entrance. Mummies.....go grab those. I got one for myself also :>

*clap clap clap*
so happy for you, Ida. =)

Btw, a quick question re the nursing poncho you are talking about. Does it come with a wired neckline? the curved outwards part that allows one to look down? I find that very important cos my bb often mis-aim out of impatience then I have to be agile enough to insert my nipple into her mouth as she swings her face from side to side. Can't do it if I can't see. If it does pls put me down for the pink stripes, peony I think?

So it's $20 each right?

To all the wonderful and encouraging mommies here,
thank you so much for your prayers and messages. Am really touched. Heard of mastitis but honestly, I just never thought it would happen to me. heeee

Fever is gone. Aches, shivers, splitting heads ... all gone. A bit light headed that's all. The big lump on my left breast is still there though. Have engaged Mdm Rokiah to come tomorrow morning at 11am. Thanks for that suggestion. Hopefully she can help me clear that lump as no matter what hubby and I did yesterday it just refuses to go away.
sad.gif

Really learnt alot from you guys. Though I haven't been posting, I have been dropping in to read from time to time.

pinksorbet,
sorry didn't explain myself properly. There were times when I was in such a hurry to nurse, that I didn't tug the cup area down properly - the elastic band ended up cutting into a small part of my breast. The part under my arm pit, and a bit lower. That is where I found the lump.

see ya this fri at our sleep workshop!

alfafa.. tink this poncho seems like the obuba.. u seen that? dun think got wired neckline.. however will double check for u .. so if no wired neckline.. u willgive this a miss?? just now with my obuba.. though no wired neckline.. i can still see inside to make sure bb lacth properly.. so more mine a bit of inverted nipple

glad u are feeling better
happy.gif

Sun,
At least 2 - 3 years ago, the Gerber breastpads came in different thickness :p

Glamourmom products sounds very expensive...

Grace,
Thanks for offering but I don't think I want to use back Angels for the reasons I stated in my previous post ;)

Alfafa,
Good to hear that you have more of less bounced back! At least your posts sound more upbeat :p

Ida,
Yay! Very liberating to be able to nurse on the go right? My #1 was such a slow coach in suckling that I ended up bringing ebm out and each outing involves so much logistic planning. Cos other than feeding him ebm outside, I have to time to come home to pump. This #2 is a slow coach on bottles! Ha! So I latch her outside instead, which is good cos I don't have to rush home to pump and deprive my #1 of any outing time.

Irene,
Hmm..of cos cant be compared to Pigeon, which is still the best to me. BUT bcos I use the wipes very regularly, I thought the Angel wipes are value for money. I'm ok with the thickness and quality.

Pups,
No probs but I thought other brand of wipes oso encounter the same problem, esp the last few pieces....hee~~

pigpig,
Kris has replied u liao. Heh, me also will be first time bringing bb out alone..guess I really have to take the 1st step

Alfafa,
Glad to hear u r feeling better.

Ida,
Being able to nurse on the go is a great achievement! I haven't yet master that...so everytime bring BB out gotta bring ebm bottle. Then must ensure the place got hot water to warm the ebm. Really hope to be able to do so soon!

hi mummies,

just wanna ask if any of your babies are rejecting bottle.

i introduced the bottle to bree in her week 7 (recommended to inro to bb between 6 - 8 weeks), she was doing fine. My mum and hubby did get to bottle feed her with either formula samples and EBM during day time until last night.

Last night, she refused to drink when hubby tried to feed her with EBM and cried very loudly kicking wildly with her legs.

we thought its due to her wanting me at night for security so i latch on. she drank a lot and settled. so this morning.. we tried agan.. and she refused no matter how hubby tried to get her to drink.. she cried till she fell asleep without drinking. Hubby then brought her to the room, she woke up and cried again. she only settled after i latched on and fed her. haiz, think hubby a bit sad.. cos he really wanted to bond with her by being able to feed her.

lenny,
i got the same pbm with you.
my boi oso getting fussy with bottles.

we change the teats, intially ok, now he getting lazier to suck, need to intervals like 3-4x, to burp, to look around to dun knw what he wans..

so now, after i burp him, i put him back to cot, only he make noise then i feed him again.

he can drink about 2oz at 1 go, so not too bad.
but tt 5.30am feed is killing, drink so slow. haiz.

i seldom latch him, only when we go out then i latch on. so i oso dun knw is it cos of nipple confusion or he is kpoing the things around him more, tt he dun wan to drink at 1 go.

Tiring today. Finally, my "Auntie" had reported on sat. Till today still heavy flow. Wahaha.........now i don't need to worry will "strike" and get a 3rd one already, but gone are the days of padless.

Pumpkin Seed
Can let me know the price? I had PMed you.

Lenny,

My little one also rejects bottle initially. I've introduced the bottle for one feed since around 8-9wk. Now finally managed to increase 3 feeds per day.

1) Start by having one feed first. I started with one feed per day always on the same time and then slowly increasing the number of feeds

2)I try not to be physically present or in the same room during bottle feed. Apparently, babies will try to hold out for the breast if the mothers are around.

3) Let other caregivers feed the little one.

4) Experiment with different teats and bottles. Currently my little one is comfortable only with Nuk.

You might want to try the few suggestions above. My little spirited baby is still show lots of resistance during bottle feeds but eventually he will still drink his milk after much coaxing.

oh my goodness,
my living room floor, the dining area, is now layered with my breast milk. in fact, my whole body is coated with it. even my baby, whom i had to appease by having her lie near to me. my dinner tablechairs, bookshelf, books ... all coated with milk.

OMG what an incredible experience!

this mdm rokiah is a miracle worker! apparently i had quite a few blocked ducts, which was why it was painful when she massaged. i have always known that i'm blessed with good supply, but i've never before seen this many powerful jets of milk spurting out before. she even helped to open two more eyelets in my low yielding right breast.

i was like the ultimate sprinkler's system!

soooooo sticky right now but have to latch bb first.

OMG
i am still in shock
