(2009/03) March 2009 MTBs

Missycandy
Connecta look very nice on you. It does not have a thick waist belt which will feel hot right? Will the weight be distribute out?

Mummies who requested to join the SMH-Mar MTB group, can also either PM/email me or indicate in FB your SMH nick? Coz i not sure if that person is/are someone that we know of lor. Don't want to any how just approve people to join.

tusky - thanks babe!!! =) cant wait to see ur carrier! hee!

Kome - connecta does have it but i didnt buy it... not necessary at this point in time.. but maybe later bah... hy did say not necessary too.. anyway im waiting for her to bring in the solarweave designs for connecta.. when i went no more le... its more light weight and good for warm weather... =) I find the weight okie leh... i was using the connecta since 12pm+ til jus nw came home ard 8plus... took Kirsten out of it 3times but short while only... to feed/burp/change diapers & rock ... =P each time ard 20mins or so... then back in it.. i find it okie... =)

bluebell - i think the jap carrier is not too bad.. i didnt carry Kirsten long term becos she is nt supposed to be sitting in it at this age.. supposed to be 4mths onwards or when the neck is more stable.. =P its really easy to use... really fool proof.. plus lightweight.. easy in and easy out.. no messy buckles.. no thick padding... good for older babies... =)

oh ya forgot ...

pumpkin - Baby A looks so darrrn cute in the bo peep get up! LOL!!

Bluebell
Mmmm.....can say it is very easy. Once we place the carrier on us, just open up baby's leg and put in only.

talking abt FB, do indicate who u are when u join the march grp.. there are still some mummies who have not indicated who they are.. i have mummies in my FB whom im nt too sure who they are also... haii...

Missycandy
Haha....me too. Abit headache as got mummies requested to join the group but i not sure if they are from mar mummies or not leh.

Is the connecta light weight? Actually i find beco abit heavy. Maybe is due to alot of buckles.

Wahaha.....i always use the jap carrier to carry Anver. Think his head abit more stable already but i will hold on to his head to support him.

Ivy
Personally, i think it is quite easy lor. Don't need to unbuckle or open any thing. Just put in or take baby out and thats all.

kome - ya.. its light weight to me... only 3 buckles.. the back 1 and 1 left, 1 right... material is not as thick as pikkolo.. nt sure abt beco leh... didnt get to try a beco.. =P wahhaahha! i think once kirsten more stable i also will use the jap carrier.. but for sleeping i dont think cn leave her head to lie on my chest even when the neck is stable lo.. wil fall backwards somehow... maybe go out while yes.. but if for her to sleep then i think not possible...

bluebell - welcome! =)

Kome,
I have transferred the money for Neurogain to you on Saturday. Have you received it?

How do I join in the march FB group? I do have a FB account but never ever use it :p

Pumpkin,
Do you still want to borrow a formal dress for A? Baby K wore one for my sis's wedding dinner on Sunday but not sure if it can fit A since A is a lanky baby. Dress from The Children's Place, size 0 - 3 months.

Missycandy
Haha.....most of the time Anver will fall asleep no matter he is in beco or in the jap carrier lor. Of course, once he is asleep i will put him down on bed immediately. Don't want him to have this bad habit of laying on people body to sleep.

hi mummies,

sorry to interrupt, did u have any spare BN Medela PIS Advanced TUBING to sell?
need it urgent...if yes, pls PM me...thanks.

Ivy
You are welcome.

Pups
Let me know what is your email and i will add you FB.

Missycandy & Ivy
Just got this feeling that this jap carrier cannot be use for long hours. Think it will cause pain at our shoulder if baby getting bigger. Not sure what do your think?

kome

i think all carrier are not able to within for long hrs. when last time i carried my son for about 2hrs and my body will ache especially my back.

Kome
Guess when bb is bigger, stroller would be better? Have also seen some mums use the MIM sling on big bbs, like carrying a bag...

Decided to get the jap carrier if come across the BP cos more portable than the carrier I have now. And my sarong sling is handmade based on pupsik model, quite small, so very soon bb won't be able to use.

Btw, you take Anver out from carrier he can still sleep? Joyce would surely scream...

hi mummies! can ad me in the mar mummies FB too?
email: [email protected]

Hi Pumpkin,
just got to check my email. I hv trf the $ to u le. Thanks.

Missy,
both your carriers look great.. i tempted to get one too..hehe

Nitz ladies!

We e-mailed his mum to tell her that we ordered them and she said she thinks it's a little pricey than normal. But they are shipping for free and it's just much more convenient for us as we are short on time. Wanted to let you girls know this. If you don't feel comfortable with the price, let me know!

She's so cute, bought one for baby A already. She said that every child should have a Sophie haha.

starflower,
should be able to.
just asked my hubby how to go so I think I have an idea liao. You are driving? My place is less than 15min drive away but just in case we get lost (touch wood!) maybe you can pick me up at round about 11.40am?

Prosper,
you are ok with relish?
happy.gif
very near lah, bukit timah road.

Misscandy,
wow you look gooooooooood in both the Jap and connecta carriers? Did I misunderstand or are you planning to buy another connecta? the solarwave one? *chuckles* Oh my goodness. March09 thread is every retailer's wet dream!

tuskywoollie,
heee an addiction I would say. Got influenced by my mom actually, cos she made a batik print MIMs type of sling for me. She was slinging my baby and going out for sun-tan sessions immediately upon my discharge. I picked up the babywearing habits from her but I evolved very quickly. LOLs. From there I went to pupsik, then balboa then having seen pumpkin in her beco I got curious and ended up buying my own soft structured carrier in the form of pikkolo. I'm really interested in the mei tai baby carrier too ... just wondering when I would give in to temptation. Heeeeee

Hey did I email you the GD cards? Sorry blur liao. Too many requests so I can't rem if you asked for them too. If I haven't can you PM me so that I have your email addy? Will send the visual stimulation cards too.

I read Glenn Doman's books on how smart babies are and have since become a convert. Was initially skeptical of any form of "education" for babies, thought it's torturous for babies to go through gruelling card sessions by kiasu mommies. But having read the book I realised that I was just being ignorant. Unlike us adults babies have an amazing capacity to learn. They CAN learn, they WANT to learn, and they ENJOY learning. What sealed the deal for me was when I saw my friend's two month old clearly enjoying her flash card sessions. Anyway, I'm also a kiasu mommy now hahaha

alfafa, that's the thing. We are so determined not to hothouse our little one as we prefer her to learn from experience than from flashcards but but... I am a kiasu Singaporean at heart!

yah man
I knew nothing of shicida and glenn doman or even baby plus until my friends told me about them. I was still skeptical even then. But ... but ... when I see her baby smiling at the cards, and all those youtube videos of the same, I just couldn;t resist!

Bought a 2nd hand set of GD English reading kit and the malaysia copy cat for Chinese and Maths kits as well.

Oh dear. I feel a bit embarrassed. whahahaa

I think a large part of it is ... damnit, I've left my job and as a result sacrificed so much for motherhood, I want to make sure I don;t waste my time away. So this GD card thingy is one of my major tasks that I want to see through.
happy.gif

I don;t intend to send her to shicida classes cos they really cost a great deal and being on a single income now means we have to watch our expenses. If I were still working I would probably have just spent the money to get someone to do the job, but since I am not, I would do it myself.
happy.gif

Oh can I have a look at the chinese one please? Seriously need help in that area. I'm sure alfafa and prosper can bear witness to that. oops

one word

Hopeless

hahahah ok I am being mean. Not bad lah, you can still speak some. Mandarin is a really important language in the world economy today. During my work trips I've met a couple of angmos who speak mandarin with a crisp beijing accent; really put me to shame seeing how I struggle with business Mandarin.

Yah sure. but I don't supposed you need to see the whole box right? it's pretty heavy. I'll just bring one or two pieces along tomorrow, is that ok? Which reminds me. I need to pass you a pair of the avent breast pads too.

Did you buy GD too?

misscandy,
Welcome to the connecta club!! Natalie got no more solarweave? Fuuny as when my hubby went down on saturday afternoon( 2 days before u), she still had a sky blue one left after he bought the blueberry ones. But your carnival one looks real nice :>

Pumpkinseed,
Can I tt you the money for sophie tomorrow? Token not with me.

Alfafa,
Can you resend me the flashcards? Can't open the attachments at [email protected]. Thanks again.

Sung,
Think I miss out the thread on the pigeon milk carrier. You still interested? If so, will take the photos and pm you.

That would be great thanks. Just need to see a sample. I was looking at the shops but haven't seen them for some reason.

The only educational things I've bought are colourful story and nursery rhyme books. But we speak to her a lot and point out things when we take her for walks. I borrowed a book from NMSG that gives ideas for playtime. It's divided into age group 0+ months, 3+ months etc. Using things you have in the house to encourage hand eye co-ordination etc

Oh and still looking for formal dress for Baby A to wear for wedding dinner this Sunday. Pups kindly offered hers but it had black spots which are not suitable. My uncle is quite particular about us not wearing dark colours for the wedding.

pumpkin,
that's nice, pointing things out to her. We haven;t got around to doing that because I'm not sure how well she can see, but I think it's a good habit to get into early. Think I would incorporate that into my conversations with her. Heee I run out of things to say to her sometimes so this is a cool idea.

I love books. I love them since I was a teeny little one still in my mom's arms. I can still vaguely remember my mom holding me in one arm while she read stories to me. Actually my mom is an illiterate, so those were usually picture books which she got for me. Being illiterate, she was anxious for me not to follow her footsteps so both mom and dad spent a fortune on books for us despite their meagre resources. But it worked because I absolutely love books! So now I want to do the same for my baby. I even hold her in my arms when I flip the papers. heheh

aiii so much for sleeping through the nite. Day 2 of baby whisperer and she is still not. Can hear her soft cries through my bb monitor :p

hi alfafa

ur bb gal sounds like a lite sleeper @ nite...hopefully she gets better upon age.

happy.gif

Or maybe not enough, i should try 160ml like Sportyger did? Sportyger, any advise?
