You know what? You are not alone. I hate hate hate pumping too. I needed between 45 to 60mins each time I pumped. Which is why I stopped even though everyone advised me to persist because pumping will help to increase ms. This doesn't mean that I don't love my baby. In the end I found a perfect solution which is to BF exclusively. I will also maintain enough emergency supplies in the event that I want to go out without baby. In this way, I hardly need to pump, can save so much more time to bond with baby and still give the best I can to my baby.
Having ample milk supply is a blessing, even though it comes with its fair share of difficulties. Don't curse it; just find a way to work around it. Hope this helps.

Alfafa, how come ur pumping is 45mins? i think 15-30mins is max. Turn on a higher power on the pump can shorten the time maybe? Shouldn't be so long, will get tired...

To lengthen shopping or activity time outside, i find the only way is to latch baby. Be it using a cover or running off to the nursing room, even if baby doesn't empty the breast totally and manage to just suckle 15mins or relieve the pressure, that'll just be good enough to buy you some more time, so practice w baby maybe...
In a way, i also think breastfeeding means a certain "loss of freedom". Like what Prosper say, every 3-4 hours need to latch or pump, it's stuck either to the baby or the machine. In the middle of the night when our husbands and the world is asleep, we are alone latching/pumping, else the engorgement/blocked ducts will come or we'll be "punished" with engorgement pains & high fevers. Gone are the days of 8 hours straight stretch of sleep. I also wondered why nature designed breastfeeding to be like that. To make sure we dont get lazy and sleep/shop too much? To make sure that we learn to pay attention to our babies first before ourselves? Hehehee...
But eventually, it's a conscious choice that all of us who've attempted to breastfeed have already made as a first step as new mothers. Maybe just let nature take its course...go on until the supply ends....

regarding your question about baby struggling and crying at breast while bf.
To reduce this you have to check and ensure bb's diapers are not due to change before you feed
check if your feeding position is correct.
if u feed in aircon room, check if bb is too cold.. feel her feet and hands .. ensure she is kept warm. and wear a cap for her.. cos bb lose a lot of heat from their head.
cehck if ur breasts are engorged, means too hard and bb suckle very hard but milk not coming out as fast as bb wants.
my first attempt.. breast are like rock buns.. brianne suckled an hour each time for 4 feeds till her gums swell then i went to ParentCraft to seek help.
must massage breast to encourage flow, its painful but it does helps..
If u really keen on BF, i suggest you go seek help from lactation specalist.

think dun use the glass bottles.. this yr.. i was told that there is a case that bb swallow glass fragment from disposable glass bottles. these disposable glass bottles are those that hospitals were given samples by FM Manufacturers.
they are not meant to be re-used. u need to be careful.. even if urs are milk bottles.. watch out for cracks.
i mentioned to mrs wong that i wanna get bottle caps for the sample milk bottles..she discourage me and told me about this case. if its metal case.. look out for rusts..

i was told beco makes her backaches but i guess that is individuals la. haha. glad that the Y insert can be taken out. will have to go down to the seller's place to try out. i guess $130 is a really a good deal lor. and guess what, the seller have 11 or more carriers. hahaha.

haha bo bian what to do, since the sch fees is already paid. don wan go oso cannot. esp im nw staying with my parents no Pontang.. on mon n wed where i will be having night classes will be a bit more busy so the moment i wk up will try bath tristan asap then feed him make him go back slp then i go bath n prepare. then later on pump my milk 1 time = 125ml approx for 1 feed. then after that will try latch him on a few times more then my mommy home after work anyhow cook my dinner for me to eat and i latch him on right after my dinner n i rush off in dad's cab to sch.. and also rush home after sch in dad's cab and be ready to latch him on again..
hahahah paiseh ended up tell u my mon n wed routine. alamak going to have test n project i donno how to allocate time out for it man. zzz

Yah... i tried the Powertap and liked it.. quite good... esp when i would be in US and dont have the luxury of going for spas and massages.. ekeke.. my hb say i waste money and say i shouldnt bring it over cos very heavy but actually only 2.9 kg.. i say him lor.. the other time say come back SG would massage for me, in the end, never massage for me.. now i go US for 3 mths, dont think he would massage for me lor.. xin you yu er li bu zhu

I used to have a very bad problem with oversupply. Breast always leaking. After bb latch, my breasts are usually full.. then bb always only latch on one side.. leaving the other side full and engorged. So irritating cos i always got to pump after bb latch.
What i did was to slowly cut the pumping time per session and sometimes i ren and not pump even if engorged. Works for me somewhat... cos now i only need to pump once a day in addition to latching exclusively. But still leaking.. sian.. I think if got supply, should continue bfing until 6 mths old.. better for bb.
Food wise... yang sheng xu and liver and dang gui would reduce BM.. u can try eating some. My grandma was the one who said that in the olden times when no medication, they eat yang sheng xu to reduce the milk supply.

Oh yeah prosper, i hope u're also not pumping at night. It's alright to miss 1 pump if you're not engorged so u can catch some sleep. So say pump once at 12midnight, then the next one at 6am or earlier after feeding baby, so least u can have a stretch of 5-6 hour sleep. But of course, provided u're not too engorged..dont want to get a fever...

U try to delay pumping interval and when u pump, the idea is to pump slightly to relieve engorgement, and leave as much milk inside as possible. Then slowly the body will reabsorb back the milk. I also don't want to pump at work so will be stopping day latches in ard 2wks time.. When I have Tbf her for 3mth. Haha. But night I still wanna latch though, I love the convenience and bonding.

hang on there! continue to bf! i want to stop pumping bcos my ss is low, and everytime pump only around 100ml(8 hourly), so i find tiring and irritating... but if i have the ss like yours, i'll sure endure even though i know pumping is really tiring... now even when i say i want to stop, i am still pumping 3x a day for the miserable 300ml a day for my little darling. can't bear to just stop like that. afraid that i will feel guilty later on...

yang sheng xu is very liang. I use to take it when feel heaty.
Nowaday I only pump when engorged. Have been latching most of the time. Last time will latch on the go when outside; as long as got chair will latch under a big black knitted shawl but will avoid inside restaurants as afraid get chase out. HaHa...

Morning Mummies ! I had a bad night... run to the toilet almost every hr...bad diarrhoea... so in the morning..evacuate my boy to my in law's place...feels quite sad staring at his empty bed..but think I can't care for him much if he stays around with me...with my hrly toilet visiting...

my left side is still very little.. so when i feed, i know brianne is not getting enough so she screams a lot.. but i continue to latch her on to get the hindmilk as my left side flow is slower. heart pain but no choice.
if i don't do it, my left side supply will stop

my left side is still very little.. so when i feed, i know brianne is not getting enough so she screams a lot.. but i continue to latch her on to get the hindmilk as my left side flow is slower. heart pain but no choice.

For the BECO demo, I am not sure if supplier is still coming as one order dropped out, only 2 confirmed orders. Although quite a few of you have said you are interested to see the demo, no one has PMed me which styles you would like to see. So do PM me if are still keen on ordering/demo so I can let supplier know the interest level.
Oh and so happy my Goon shipment arrived. The swim pants look cute, hope they work... Am definitely sticking to Mamy Poko and Goon for my girl. She was having liquid poo yesterday and both caught every single drop. No leak at all. We were so happy haha
