hello ladies!

didn't go thru all past posts (again!)...

anyway, thanks to those who send their regards to me n Oli
happy.gif

sad thing is Oli caught a virus here and was pooing like 5 times a day on Wed n Thu! brought him to see a doctor yesterday, and he confirmed Oli caught a virus due to the weather here... now we have to change his milk to a prescribed one for 2 days, then alternate the milk with NAN on Sunday... luckily he is better today...

Asura

ya, Oli managed to catch some sleep in the plane... luckily he was fine sleeping in the bassinet, but he poo-ed 3x in the plane
sad.gif
so poor mummy got to go into the cramp little toilet to change him...

the weather here is quite cooling at this moment, with lots of wind (that's why Oli caught a virus) and quite a lot of sunshine too! Oli's face also quite dry, i tried Mustela baby face cream, so far still ok leh... just wonder like u said the face become cornified, how is it like? now i'm worried, should i change to another brand? there are so many baby brands here, but all so foreign to me... just like wet tissue, i can't find Pigeon (of course), so now i am using a brand called Mixa, suppose to be one of the best for baby...

NAN H.A. is called Nidal H.A. here, but need to order from pharmacy and we paid 28.50 euro (S$57) for 1 tin, which means is S$20 more for each tin
sad.gif
according to the doctor, it is the best FM as it is to compliment with breastfeeding. however, even though i've stopped bfing, the doctor still advice us to continue with this FM.

Pampers over here are called differently too... there's Pampers Baby Dry (with 12 hrs protection), Pampers Active Fit... Oli is using Pampers Baby Dry size 4 (equivalent to L)... hahaha... he has big butt
happy.gif

i also saw some mummies discussing about the teat that ur baby is using... Oli is using avent teat 3 since last week... teat 2 is too slow for him and he became frustrated...

jtho + asura,

mustela supposed to be hypoallergenic, but don't trust what it says. I been using mustela exclusively without a problem until bb kena'd allergic dermatitis from detergent. Used E45 cream which I seriously highly recommend - dermatologists use it for dry skin conditions and THAT is not only cheaper than mustela, it is well and truly hypoallergenic, and you can get it over the counter. When I tried to use mustela again, the rash became worse again. The other cream that dermatologists like to use is aqueous cream, which can also be used like a soap and can use to wash off. In addition, I used Oilatum junior (like liquid paraffin) in the bath for bb, which kind of forms a protective layer to keep the moiusture in.

see what works for u

Re: Bottle brush
Pigeon has sponge brush for bottle washing. Think Pigeon has 2 types of brush ie. bristle (think China made) type and full sponge type (Japan made). You can get it from certain Fairpice or major departmental store like Robinson and JL. For the teat brush, Pigeon has too, it's full sponge and comes in 2 sizes, one for wide neck teat and one for those regular teat. I prefer the skinny one which I use it to brush the inside of my breastshielf as well. Comes in 2 pc in a pack.

Alfafa, no worries. I'm thankful that you send me the link to the Bjorn sellers. It's ok even if I buy it, it's not your fault. You are just being helpful.

Re: scratches in bottles
It's advisable to change bottles after some time if there are too many scratches. The scratches may be potential breeding ground for bacteria. Glass bottle would be a better option but the con is that it's heavy and not child friendly especially when your little one is learning to hold bottle on his own.

areya

thanks for the info... in fact our PD in SG prescribed Aqueous Cream for my baby. i use it for his body, didn't know it can be used for face as well... will use it instead of mustela then
happy.gif

jtho,

no probs. actually the rest of the mustela stuff that i use is pretty ok, like the vitamin barrier cream to prevent diaper rash - bb diaper area so far remains pristine. just that the lotion isn't really hypoallergenic like it claims... just by virtue of it being fragranced is already suspicious *lol* I guess aqueous cream can be used for the face. TRy it and see and if it doesn't work e45 definitely no problem.

Kome,
Really not used to ur new nick! Aii.. the moderators nt consistent lehz.. so many mummies post their WTS items here..

jtho,
Hope Oli recovers soon!

Just came back from Taka sales.. Woah, a lot of people but really value for money.. Tot tt I will be shopping for my own things. ENd up still buy darling boy;s stuff.. Since becoming a mother, I always visit children's shop first, buy my bb's things rather than mine. My bb really changes me..

Irene
Ok, had resend you already.

Sassybaby
Let me know lar......no point keeping all those bottles.

Ida
Luckily i never wait for their reply. Just register again.

Jo
Haha.....i not use to the new nick too. Just know me as kome will do unless new comers don't know lar.

Sob sob.....so touch. Thanks all for comforting me. Really feel sad to restart all over again before i can post to WTS again. I just don't bear to lost contact with all of you after so many months, so no choice i have to log in with another nick.

Sun,
I only managed to find the picture of the sponge bottle brush. Follow the link below and see the picture on the right panel.

Sponge brush: http://www.pigeonbaby.info/subcategory.php?subcat_id=22

As for the sponge teat brush, just check out pigeon counters in departmental store and you should be able to find them. I usually get mine from either Metro SengKang or Robinsons. But any pigeon counters should sell them.

Asura,
I guess nipple cream will be the way for you. Other than healing cracked nipples, they can be for moisturising purpose too, ya?

Jo,
I was at the Taka sales earlier too! We wanted to change our mattress for quite a while already and finally managed to get ours at quite a bargain due to the special price.

Alamak, was typing a long post this aftn which I didnt get to post up cos Chloe kept crying the moment I walked away (& I lost the post when hb played his online gaming... duh!!) Now gotta retype again, hope I remember most of it hahahaa.

Alfafa,
I didnt get the support belt cos it will look soooooo bulky on my small frame.
If really needed in future then buy but at the moment cant bring myself to buy/wear it LOL! Btw, this carrier is reversible right?
Told my cousin about the carrier and she's going down to get one this weekend too!
happy.gif
Women women... no wonder they say women's money easiest to earn!

Mei Tai - There are so many different brands of Mei Tai available. I actually like the one you (or was it another mummy) posted earlier which is Mei Tai Baby better. The one sold at Thomson is Ellaroo or something like that.

Mangogal,
Yes yes I bought the aloe vera gel from BP by cadbury. Actually I bought to try out for hubby's eczema but its a large jar so I scooped out into a small container for baby's use cos its multi-purpose gel heehee.

Ida,
I also wanted to say that actually you're the most blessed to have 4 kids! There are many couples out there who would love to have children but either tried very hard or cant have... me also tried a while before can have this precious one. For me, the happiness & love from family cannot be compared to anything else.

Re the difference between LG & Parkon playmat - found this explanation in one of the BPs.
LG Prime range is slightly better in quality compare to the rest. That's why they are more expensive too.
The embossing pattern on the LG Bumper Playmat surface is quite unique and enhance the surface thus more durable. The surface for most of the Parklon Bumper Playmats are smoother thus make cleaning easier.
But recently, Parklon has also slowly changing their playmat range from the existing surface finish to embossing pattern that is similar to those of LG Prime brand, e.g Pooh flower hill (Parklon). The PVC material used is eco friendly.
Besides that, LG Prime mats are firmer and Parklon's are softer.

Sunshine,
Ehhh where do you buy your Goon from cos I've been ordering from gmarket and its free delivery even for 1 packet (but sometimes siao siao one, they will indicate free delivery for min 3 pkts depending on their promo so must always login to check). They selling @ $17.80 now. When I first bought, the discount was higher and only $14.90 each.

Vernice,
Me got the Pikkolo at normal price cos wanted to get in time for my Penang trip next week
happy.gif

Jtho,
Was just thinking this afternoon... the toilet onboard the plane is so crampy and doesnt come with baby changing facilities - how did you manage to change Oli's nappy ah?

Cindy,
Trishelle looks so contented with her toy.

Kome.
Oooops never knew we cant post our WTS item here!!

Out of curiosity - mummies who are using slings or carriers, do you wear heels or flats when carrying your baby?

Cos I'm so paranoid that if I were to wear heels (I dont mean high high heels but low heels), if I accidentally fall or twist my ankel then baby will be hurt too!

shoes:
Depend on how confident you are. For me, i'm still sticking to flats, cos been wearing flats since preggy. I'm trying to wear back my heels cos i'm gg back to work soon. Once i get the hang of it, i will wear it while carrying bb also.

Kome: received your email. Thanks a lot. You not getting it?

Does anyone know if we can handcarry a tin of FM onboard flight, be it open or unopen? Or strictly gotta check-in cos I read thru the airport's regulation and it wasnt clear when it comes to baby's needs.

In case you think I'm siao to want to carry the whole tin hahaha... its becos I dont want the powder to be all over the place when I open up, super messy i dont like heehee.

koala,
i wear high heals but not reli veri high, mayb 1-2inches when i sling or push bb in stroller. i feel ladies looks more beautiful in heals. tink preggie tink too deprived liaoz.

koala
Re: On Flight Baby Needs
I bought two EBM bottles in a cooler bag, no problems. Tink powder FM is fine, just need to tell them it's for your bb.

If you need to change bb nappy, can either change on the bassinet or ask the air steward where there is a changing place for bbs. SIA has one, I think but I didn't use it as I just changed bb nappy on the bassinet, much easier/ convenient.

hi koala,
kiddy palace or other bb store sells those stack up tins tat can contain fm per feed...very convenient...tink e brand is called piku...but i guess if u state ur reason, shld not b a problem...

happy.gif

wearing flats or slings when carrying bbs...for urs n bb safety...wear flats lor like sandals/pumps...wait anything happens u feel bad n others will give u tat 'i told u so' look...speaking of heels...it has been a year since i wear them...a bit tiring for e feet as still hav some wt to lose...but ya lar...to wear them sure cheers one up...u feel different too...
happy.gif

koala.. thank u .. i know and now that i m preventing to get preggie again.. how i wish i can give some of my baby dust to mummies who are trying hard to conceive... for me... as my mil said... when my placenta was washed.. hubby counted the black dots (whch suppose to represent how many children we gonna have) and i have 15 .. wah sey... crazy ahh.... think like kampung days.. where 50 cents is a big thing.. so i truly understand how u feel and my heart aches to see babies being dumped and all.. no matter what each child is a blessing

cindy.. wah u finally bought it... ok.. must bribe me liao.. or not will tell ur hubby the price... kekekekek.. she looks contented with the toy

with regards to heels... depends on mum's comfortability.. i hv frens who are vain enuf to wear high heels with babies in tow... not me lah.. i use heels more look like giant.. rarely wear them

btw any mummies here rent out cars or not for 1 day... haiya.. so many things to settle and some more bike is down.. take cab here and there so mafan.... let me know if u mummies have ;)

jtho,

So good that ur Oli got to sleep in the plane. If mustela is working fine for u can continue but maybe dont used on the face lah.. Try what areya mentioned. I only used mustela once and my bb skin became cornified. Heh.. Hope that Oli get better soon..
happy.gif

pinksorbet,

I din go to doc cos was reading online abt the green stools. My bb only had green stools for a few days the other time and it became yellow soon after i latch with one breast only.

koala,

One or two of the toilets on the international flight would have bb changing facilities. I also never noticed until i went onboard with bb..
happy.gif

mangogal,

By the time i come back, everyone would have went back to work liao, only left with SAHMs. Me starting work one week after i arrie and to be socially responsible, even if there is a gathering amongst the SAHMs then, i would not be joining cos come back from US, i better self quarantine myself from u pple..
happy.gif
Unless by then, they declare that the H1N1 is just like another flu virus.. then not so bad lah..

Pinkdemoness,

Baby Einstein selling at only 50+ at Kiddy palace? So cheap? AIyah... i just bought a set of 26 DVDs here... $44.99 before shipping... tot it is very cheap liao.

kome,

Slow n boring to us may not be so for bb. Anyway, if let bb watch things that are too fast, it may affect their attention spanwhen they go school next time so i also prefer to screen shows to bb at her pace. Think until she find it boring than i would go next level.

ANy idea if wheels on the bus is from US?

RE: Spurting

My gal seems to be having a growth spurt every week... really very hungy, tired and thirsty whenever she is on it.. Wonder when it would go back to once in 3 weeks.. weekly affair is really really tiring!!

hi asura,
how many weeks old is ur child?

growth spurt...my boi drinks qite a bit when no tummy upset or good appetite...is tat a growth spurt...?

asura: i think Kp is selling 50+ for 1 volume n i thnk got 4 volumes...dunno if i got mixed up with another dvd called 'baby can read'...keke...but i think yr price is relatively cheap le...

Babe,
Thanks!

Kris,
I love wearing high heels, esp those with skinny heels - find them more sexy! But ever since preggy, so afraid i'll lose balance :p

Tusky,
I'll be away for 9 days, so need to bring the entire tin of FM hahahaaaa... my little one consumes one tin every week - super siong on the wallet!

Ida,
15????????? wow!!!!!!!

Asura,
Me too, I'd never taken notice in the past but now, everywhere and everywhere I go to, I keep a lookout for nappy changing rooms LOL

cindy,

Oh My! i can see tt yr bb really likes it.. She looks so cute holding the rattle..

pups,
The stuff at the bed shop are really worth it.. Bought some of my fav. bed sheets too..

Speaking about tiger bb..
I was telling the mummies during the SK gathering about one of gal fren who is already pregnant (her bb is born in FEB). Her gynae told her tt we are very fertile after birth if not breastfeeding..
