Yup...still prefer those "poncho" type (covered front & back)...but bb will sometimes be perspiring inside...hee~~~

Daphne, Haha oh man, Queen of gadgets Haha thank u for lending me your nursing cover yesterday! I have one poncho type since #1 time but never used cause always shy to do in public! Yesterday was the first time I did it in kiddy palace! Hehe enjoy your time with joe! Ugin Hehe he will cooperate with daddy. He is so cute, like olivier!

vernice - i tink u can buy those "on the go" warmers which are sold in Mums& Babes...about $30+? I think it will be useful if u plan to bring EBM out...i plan to buy one in future should i bring bb out more often...alternatively like wat keron does, bring hot thermal flask with hot water, one cup and EBM so u can heat it outside.

prosper - sometimes i'm jus too tired that i wan to give up bf-ing too, like when i feel engorgement and i have to wake up and pump, v sian since it is at the expense of me not getting enough rest...go out oso another problem...haiz...but i told myself since i have decide to invest in pump and stuffs i should go all the way...i even bought a fridge to go bag so i can pump at work...despite v troublesome but i tink it is worth it la...being blessed with a good MS is already good reason enough to continue to bf...this is one way i encourage myself too...another reason is i can save on milk powder lor and transfer benefits to bb...oh well its a cause & effect thing la...

alfafa - can i know what is it about the VS flash cards? I plan to get for my boy too...where do u get those?

queenie - my boy doesn't seem to like avent teats too! so from then on i refused to let him drink using the teat fron Avent bottle :p heard from my fren alot of ppl complain about the teats...

btw, those mummies who nurse in public...are u gg to continue once yr bb has teeth? i'm quite scared woah...haha...which is oso one reason why i am contemplating whether to get nursing cover since eventually it will onli be a few more months then he will grow teeth le...which i tink i dun dare to latch anymore! oops...

Just called TMC parentcraft. Will be making a trip down later to see what is wrong with my nipple/aerola when using Medela PIS. Sigh, hope can solve my problem and pain
 
mummies, can I ask you a sensitive qn: those who have stitches below when you deliver, have you ML yet? Scared of pain leh.. Is it safe to do it after 7 weeks post-delivery?
 
mummies who is doing TBF, does ur darlings play ur nipple?
My gal ah..hiyo...she loves to spit/ pull/ suck with her mouth! Haa..as you all said nipple is toughen so nt feeling pain, but I just cant stop laughing when seeing her latching on, it is an entertainment for me, she can latch on n suckle, then after 10mins full liao, can use her palm to press on my breast n spit out! THen snuggle her nose n mouth open to my nipple n suck, she will always happily repeat a few times in this pattern lor!
Any of you as well?? It is really hilarious n my hubby also laugh together with me :p
 
alfafa, i still cant manage to open her legs like urs in the pics.
her legs r stick on my side of waist. not like urs whereby grace's legs r downwards.
dunno isit kayle legs r short.

i was using pikkolo yesterday taking mrt,one old ah ma commented me not to open her legs like tat,says next time legs not nice while walking... sigh..

My grandma also commented the same thing when I used a carrier and when I used a sling, she say baby's spine will be affected etc. But olden days, babies were also carried like tat on mum's back when they go farming??

sometimes bb pulls his mouth out of our nipple either to take a break or not properly latched on...

if bb cranky, could mean wind in e stomach...my son abel oso displays similar characteristics while bfing so i try to minimize this occurence by putting him in a side/stomach position n swaddle his upper half of body to prevent his arms frm flailing abt...

mangogal - my boy oso...she will pull! pain lo...notti boy...then he will use his hand to cover his face while sucking...so cute...hehe...then when he can;'t latch on properly or can't find the nipple he will shake his head vigorously...my hb n i oso laughed when seeing it...
 
Pinksorbet, yalo!! my gal also use her hand to cover her mouth while sucking, i cant see mah so always disturb her finger/palm,hehe, ya another funny part is shake her head vigorously, eyes n mouth wide open to look for nipple:p

Yap.. let mummy write themselves easier cos some will not like to disclose their names in forum. Then u got to collate all the names and write. Very waste time also, unless u dun mind. Then on that day, some mummies might not turn up. So best is, u bring sticker label and markers.. let them write. More efficient. And if possible can use red and blue marker. Mummy that give birth to GAL, use RED. Mummy that give birth to BOY, use BLUE. So when u chat abt baby habits, u all can get to know if boy and girl will be the same or not. Just sharing what I had learnt from other gatherings. hehe.

vernice80, i normally place the thawed EBM in the milk bottle, after which i will put the milk bottle in mug wif cover so as to save space in the bag. If more than one feed is required, i will take the frozen EBM and place in a pouch (which is supposed to keep the EBM from rapid thawing). hope that helps.

i believe latching directly is the easiest way out, but i havent try that before as my gal likes to take her own sweet time to drink, plus my back always aching, so i prefer to feed from bottle.

Although you are not of petite frame like Alfafa, you are no where near big-size also! Just tall. You will look good in spag tops and dresses also lah

Talking about baby shaking their head vigorously prior to latching on, my baby did that and her brother had a good laugh. He went "haha, mei mei shake a head like that" *mimics the head-shaking*

Talking about wasting milk... hubby woke up to baby's cry at 3.30am, heated milk but she didn't want any after drinking about 20mls. He left the milk outside next to him and fell asleep. 80mls of the leftover was discarded this morning. *heartache*

yy... btw yup i pum after latch... and can yield 60-100ml depending how much he drinks during latch

normal pump w/out latch - 100ml - 250ml

i m using avent manual pump.. though last year buy the electric one but as i was telling vernice... manual empty the breasts more

i pump no longer than half hour..... usuaally within 10-20 mins to empty both breasts
 
Idea- is the avent manual pump good? i am still considering whether to get avent manual isis or the medela harmony manual one...both cost abt the same...
 
pinksorbet.. yes good ... last time i only bot the super cheap tollyjoy one... then wehn i chanced upon SMH.... i saw that avent is quite gd - bout almost BN 2nd hand one to try and it does empty my breats more efficiently..

then later on where there was the philips sale... i got my fren to buy me the elctric one... though easier but to me it does not empty as much as u do manual... it does help with letting ur hands some rest.... i give thumbs up to this... but only y sons does not drink frm avent teats like my elder gerls.. so i transfer frm avent bottles to normal bottles when they drink.. hoe this helps

but i c mummies here all dont buy avent.. but those higher range ones??
