When you feel a contraction coming, breathe in as deeply as you can, until the contraction subsides. Remember you've gotta start breathing in once you feel it coming, if you use it at the peak of the contraction, it won't work.

So when I think it's coming I just hold it real tight over my nose and mouth and start inhaling really deep breaths. It got me high and happy, like I had too much to drink.

Grace Chng, I have the soup every other day. It could be due to other reasons as well, or a combination of factors. As someone mentioned drinking lots of fluids seems to help. Even if it hurts to pee regularly, just drink as much as you can - red date tea, soups, milo

Someone asked about Strep B symptoms. I can't remember everything right now but if I am not wrong, some people don't even exhibit symptoms. Personally, I had a lot of discharge and was very irritated down there so there was definitely something amiss. Then I did a vaginal swab to test.

last night 1030pm had super terrible lower backache and cramps with contraction every 8 minutes w each lasted for 40secs... it ended at 1230am and i was so tired n fell asleep... didnt want to go hosp as i was afraid it might b false alarm... woke up at 330am n had severe cramps n backache again... at 410am i got panicked n got my hb to call hosp... was advised to go immediately... so i went shower... however i felt much better after tt n went back to sleep till this morning.. went to see gynae.. was advised might give birth earlier but only 1cm dilated... got to go back to clinic tmr again for gestational diabetes test..cos at 36 wks n 2 days bb already 3.37kg... bb put on 800g within 2 wks.. now hoping really hard tt i wouldnt hv this condition... sianz...

Thanks .Also congras on ur baby arrival.I noe I am safe in his hands however if I were to induce whether my cervix open or nt its reali not up to him to decide lor. I am reali very worry that I might end up E csec which will be costly 1 thing and also have to go thru induce pain than Csec pain I reali dun wish.

I think I reali gt pre natal blue le just now dunno why come to think of these things tears just row down.Reali hope this little girl come out by herself these few days.

Hi caca...don get too sad...all e waiting will cease once our bbs out...

I jus feel heavier n heavier each day...more n more tired...worse still, e blood circulation not good...almost getting leg cramps on alternate days?!

Very tempted to get MC from gyni on my next Mon visit...after this visit, will b a weekly affair liao...as for my bb, he seems energetic enuf to b born leh...like he getting bored inside liao...

I thot can dong for 1 more week, but can feel i not so energetic as b4...sianz lor...
Now more scared of e leg cramps...havnt thot of e labour pains...

Some of my galfrienz...like moms of 3 tell me to go natural...but took extra epi...blah...really donno how painful e pain can b...guess it depends really on individuals.

Hey, 2 cheer us up...try focusing on e next phase of life we r embarking on...we hav a little one calling us Mama...wow! Wat an extraordinary feeling! *Hee Hee of course now he cant say tat lar...

Gotta chao...tucking into soupy instant noodles with sardine...so late dinner as i had a wee bit of pizza in late afternoon...cos my bb reminding me tat hez hungry w his persistent kung fu moves... Ouch!

he say either tue or wed will give birth..
so i told him i got backache. he ask me if got contractions not, i say i donnoe.
6pm-8pm+
went for dinner at cwp. very uncomfy at V area and backaching. thought is due to VE..
went home rest still the same.
8pm plus
Dr Ang called and check on me. told him the condition still the same and sometimes backaches is stronger. he told me to admit liao. he wans to check on bb. after much consideration, we admitted at 1030pm.
12mn
Dr Ang came, told him my contractions is 2-3mins once. he did VE on me. dilation only 2-3cm.
he say tml 8am check on me again.
So Contractions still continues...
8am-9am++
went to waiting ward. Dr Ang came did VE, 3-4cm dilated only. he say should come out by noon.
Nurse inserted anema, pooed, washed n change to the Op gown. Nurse then put me on drip(donnoe is that consider Induce or not)
AS TIME GOES BY...
Contractions come faster and longer. Waited until 10plus 11am, i Buay Tahan was, pulling the bed, pressing my forehead when contractions kicks in.. in the end asked for GAS.
the nurse juz say press hard and breathe in n out with it. so i thought keep using it.. LOLS.
until another more standard nurse came told me, use only when contractions come! ok so i use only when contractions comes.. the nice nurse check on my VE, she say only 5cm at tt time. still early she say. so wait lor..
within the next 1 HOUR, i suddenly got urge to push when contractions kicks in. so i did. with some URR UrR Urr Sounds..
The nice nurse happens to come in the waiting ward. check on me. then suddenly push me to Labour Ward!!! and order me to stop Pushing by holding my breathe. so i tried my best.
The moment i reached the labour ward(distance only like 30secs walk but like v faraway), Dr Ang is already nearby, Nurses called him.. tink he is in another labour ward. PHEW THANK GOD!
He stepped in, then faster ask me hold awhile, den he sit dwn and tell me he count to 10 and ask me push like i haven POO for v long. so i did. within 5mins of time in labour ward and about 2-3pushes, Xander is out.

Any mummies awake? We can start a Sleepless In Singapore Club (SIS Club), where we are all SISters. hahaha oh dear, I think delirium is setting in. I expected to wake up at around 4 but she woke up at 2 demanding for a feed.

It's all her Papa's fault. I told him that she needed more for her 12am feed but he didn't believe me. Now, he's soundly asleep while I am wide awake. Did some laundry, thinking of opening and sorting out some of the gift hampers. Received this lovely fruit basket today but CL said I cannot eat any of the fruit in the basket. Do any of your CL restrict what type of fruit to eat?

I will be admitting to Mount A at 12.30pm and my c-sect time is at 4.30pm. Hope i am able to access to the internwt. If not i am not sure what i can do during the waitinng time.

in w37d5 now, visited gynae yest, bb is engaged and in ready position. hee just a matter of waiting till he's ready to come see us. hope it's not dis week though coz i hving a cold and sore throat. want to be the first person to kiss and cuddle my little one so must recover first. telling bb to be ready to come out next week hee hee

dun sad k. i oso had pre-term labour earlier in w30+, on drip and ventolin, now no longer on med since last week but bb is comfortably in tummy haha gynae was joking it's the case sometimes for such babies, we furiously try to prevent them from coming out too early and subsequently, bb dun want to come out coz too comfy. talk to your little one, i'm sure she'll listen and come out soon. am praying and telling my little boy to come only next week.

too busy at work dis few weeks, rushing taxation and payroll, now doing appraisal ranking. hope can finish my work though i dun tink so. will start passing over next mon. hee i'm hoping tat bb will be ready by gynae checkup next week so can go straight to delivery ward haha no surprises or worries. now must do all the things we want to do first and eat all the food we crave so later can be guai guai during confinement mth. thought i wld be very scared that the date is nearing and nearing but actually feel so excited now! gynae checked my cervic and said can feel bb head down there, though only 0.5cm opened. i'm so excited. hope to see bb next week

but must wait for me to recovered! hee hee

When you're feeling blue, think of poor me! I'm already 40weeks 2 days and not much sign of bb wanting to come out. Been worried, disappointed these few days and can't sleep well, too. You know what? We even TRIED to BD last night as the semen is thought to be a natural "inducer" but who knew that we even failed to BD cos we couldn't stop laughing in between !! It was hiliarously funny though. Can you believe the enormous desperation and pressure I've put on my hubby's "brother"?!! Hahaa, he must have got scared la.

Ah well....

Hope it cheers all the worried kan cheong mummies up a little.

For me, i started pumping on my 2nd nite in the hospital (rented from hospital). Yup it's colustrum &amp; it's pathetically little. But I still gave it to the nurses at the NICU to put into his milk. A little is better than nothing =)

What I'm doing now is I'll pump at home &amp; whenever we visit him, we'll bring it there for the nurses to feed him. I'm not those who have alot of MS...jus able to meet his current demand (altho not for the 1st few days lah)! =) Or maybe you can check with your hospital if you can go during his feeding time to bf him.

Ryan is still in NICU bcos he's prematured and his coordination in his sucking &amp; swallowing was poor. But he'll be discharged tmr... =)

Dun worry, mayb the slight jaundice is not serious &amp; you can bring him home...dun think too much k.... =)

Role model? Pls dun.....we learn &amp; grow from experience =)

Hahaha..u very funny.. but i think if i try to BD with my hb when he comes back, same would happen to us.. haha... my hb already cannot imagine the whole act with the big balloon in the middle. Think some men are quite worried abt harming the bb so there is some mental obstacles and thus, cant "perform". Hee...

I think now u officially our giraffe chairman.. hee.. my colleague's sister-in-law just gave birth 11 days after EDD. BB is very huge. I think yours would be too!

Anyway, hope to hear popping news from u soon!

At least for u ur cervix is open a little 0.5cm mine le totally close that is what reali make me sad and afraid.I sad even induce wait cervix dun open than gt to last min CSEC I dun wan so nw try to keep toking to baby and do some half squat excercise lor hope it helps cos I reali dun walk onli at home I dun go out de think that is the reason ba.

Yea, last scan at 32 weeks back in S'pore was 2.4kg. Haven't scanned since. Dr Wong said a possible 3.6kg bb.

I was a big bb myself at 4.05kg but my petite mum gave birth naturally.
