Pinkie, I missed Dr Chan's scan leh. Somehow he managed to get bb on screen very fast and we able to see bb very clearly from his scan.

PVL, think your expectation of Sarah is too high? Heehehe...

Gelato, my prev gynae only allow us to put on 2kg per mth.

Fiona, you're a wei da mummy

belacan: yes my gynae is Dr Kowa..my edd is 12 jan..1st child..into my 18th weeks now hee..so wens ur next appt??did u deliver ur other child wit him also??

Fiona: i dun know whether i have that strength u possess. Really admire ur determination. Thumbs up :)

pinkie pirate, ur bb's 3D pic is so cute. I wait till my neck long already for my next gynae visit. i guess now our visits will be scheduled monthly, till our last trimester... miss my bb. keke

zal: yes, Dr. Kowa delivered my other 2 kids, then we are very near..hehehe..my edd is 16 jan...will be seeing him in 2 wks time.....maybe can meet you there ;)

MTBs, my wife heard was advised by her mum-of-2 coleague that it would be advisable to begin massaging the breasts and nipples from now till delivery to aid milk flow.

fiona87: U may want to try the above to aid milk flow?

thanks girls.. who got a good post natral massage lady to intro? i thinking of doing pre natral massage.. my whole back is very painful.. i saw alot of massage lady that ppl recommand here.. but too many already.. dun knoe who to choose..
nobody is going to TMC next friday? aiyo.. my first 2 baby was born in KKH.. the service not good.. am i too selfish to change to TMC? becuz got ppl tell me that next time they grow up will say or compare the hospital not same all that..

belacan: oh yeah..dats nice to hear he delivered ur other 2 kids..My next appt is next week 23rd la..hee..nonetheless there will be other time we can bump into one another..btw..have u start on e package yet?

Priviledged : You're very steady. It takes alot of patience, commitment & dedication to be a SAHM, you homeschool somemore...

Good that u still exercise, even tho i quite petite, i climb stairs oso quite a task... i think my engine rusty liao...

Suika : then i not so guilty liao... hehe...

You going for normal delivery w/o aid? maybe can try attending those hynobirthing class? i think it's quite in these days... i not qualified liao, already went thru 2 times c-sections...

Giggler : if take 4 weeks a mth & based on 40-week gestation, that means can put on ttl 20kg? Based on Samval's gynae's guideline, take 2kg (1st trimester) + 14kg (0.5kg for 28weeks) = 16kg. So my gynae's guideline is the least - only 12kg. But he did mention most S'poreans exceeds 12kg. hmmm...

Morning ladies!

Suddenly it dawned upon me today that my life is moving ahead without all my friends. They're meeting up for friday night drinks, weekday happy hours and I'm stuck @ home or going home after dinner with them.

Anyone with the same 'problem' as I?

hihi NG XIAN SHU FIONA (fiona87)
ur year of birth is 1987? wow... real young mummy... congrats to you. from your tone, it seems that you are the "le tian pai" happy go lucky. hope that all of your children are like you.. anyway, guys takes more more time to mature than girls. maybe give him more time. anyway, he is still the father of your children.
gesh, sorry if i sound so aunty...gee... good luck in your exams yeah!!

hiya,
Any Crescent Girls here huh??

zal : mine is on 25th hehehe...
normally the package start when we are 5 months....

for weight gain, think my #3 pregnancy i gain a lot...for my last two pregnancy i gained abt 12 kg....looks like this time it will be more than that......scary..

Gelato: I gained 3kg in the 1st trimester, which my gynae said was ok. She then recommended a weight gain of 1.5 kiloes a month for the next 6 months which would keep total weight gain to 12kg. I'm trying to aim for that, but seems like I might just go past that mark. Really hoping not to gain more than 15kg for this pregnancy.

ange, i faced the same problems as you. one yr ago still can happy go lucky, go partying drinking and having crazy fun with frenz. now cannot. i think next time is even worst....

but that is the sacfrice we need to make for our dear babies....

Giggler,
Do you think I'm too ambitious expecting Sarah to pick up after herself? Hahahaha! Well..... must expect much, then she'll achieve much (eventually).

suika,
I delivered my 2 naturally without epidural. Both were induced with pitocin/oxytocin. 1st one labour was very very jialat. Pain lasted >12 hours. Finally delivered her 23 hours after waters broke. I did use pethidine (jab in the thigh) in her case. For my boy, it was much faster, delivered 6+ hours after waters broke (again). Used gas for him. The excruciating pain was only for about 2 hours. So much better! Hope I can deliver this 3rd one naturally like the other two.

talking abt wt gain.
this week i am at the 16th week. i noticed that i always feel like eating and eating....
oh gosh.... haven got the courage to go to the scale and dip...
Tmr my HB coming back from reservist ler... and i just booked the gynae apt tmr morning with Whole Family gg!! gee gee gee
16weeks=4th month... should be able to see ger ger or boi boi ler hor...

showy : as long as ur bb is growing, shouldn't be a problem..

actually for this time round, appetite not so good, but then still gaining weight, in fact have been gaining since 1st trisemester....

Ange: i've not even meet up with them for dinners...bump into my friends on sun during dinner....they meetup for dinner nearby oso no call me lor

Priviledged: cheaper then using epidural? coz i heard epidural's side effect is backache....n i scared of needles so dun noe wad to do

2boys_mum, when's your edd?? Mine's 29th Jan, we're hoping to see bb's gender tmr also.. The last time I did my OSCAR, the lady said most likely is a ger.

Belacan, my hb was so stressed each time when i stepped on the weighing scale cos my weight keeps dropping.. :|

ange: me too same as u.... friends did called to join them for dinners or outings but everytime, i cant make it as rushing home to take care of baby.... being labelled as "anti social" by friends..... that why they mentioned to me that the only way to meet up with me is to come to my house...

gelato & EmQ: I asked about the standard, cos when i was in FMPS, it was a stressful one. Loads of homework and i heard it's still the same. But then again, every pri sch has loads of homework. I have more fond memories in FMSS than in pri. Heard a rumour that the secondary sch may cut affiliation with pri sch.

Privileged: Wow, its lots of hard work and dedication to homeschool. Pei fu! I kind of exhausted after spending the first 3 years educating. It's very fruitful but tiring. Gave up and left to the preschool instead.

DaddyToBe: Check out the HPPS & alumni website. Mrs Wang was my music teacher too. The others, I'm not sure... maybe because we are from different sessions (even years are in the same session as we had the 1-3-5, 2-4-6 system then). Hey, is your friend or his nephew staying in JW? Well, I was staying in JW before shifting to West Coast in Jun (mainly so that my kids need not travel that far)... hee hee also, I HATE JW... the crowd, the dust, the smell, the DISTANCE! But my youngest sis studied in HPPS and stayed in TMJ for the entire 6yrs... actually she took the school bus for most of the 6yrs and she get back about same time as the kids who went to the neighbouring schools - reason being most of HPPS kids come from all over & most use the small bus, which travels direct to the area before dropping off the kids... unlike the big buses that go round & round the nearby areas.

Heard about the messaging breast thingy... but not too sure lor... if born with short nipples, naturally very difficult... I wasn't very successful for 1st 2 either... neither was my elder sis... younger sis had milk over-flowing but BIL disallowed breastfeeding outside home (weird right?) well, so she only partial breastfed at home for awhile. SIL had very long nipples and if I'm not wrong, still breastfeeding now (son turning 1 next weekend).

2boys_mum (2boys_mum): haha.. is good to be a happy go lucky person.. at least when u r sad, ppl will know.. the first two i also normal birth without epidural.. first labour wait for 6pm-11pm den the water bag broke.. den 6am something den give birth to my daugther, the 2nd one is from 6pm to 5am something.. for weight gain, the first one is from 45kg den giving birth that time go up to 60kg.. but baby come out so small.. 2.85kg only.. the second one is from 43kg to 60.5kg.. baby come out was 3.15kg.. den now.. 47.3kg to 51.3kg.. so fast.. den is only the 4 months plus only.. dun knoe how to lose weight after that!!

haha.. i going out liao.. see u guys/girls later..
happy.gif

belacan : me too! For #1, i gained ard 10kg, #2 gained 12kg, hv a feeling tis 1 gonna be more!

Ange : I've been "aunt" for years already, so dun really feel i miss out anything... =P but i think you'll slowly adjust... maybe in future, u find yourself mixing ard with fellow mummies more than single frens... anw, ur single frens will oso be married & hv kids, so it's a matter of time only... take it easy...

Showy : Do u hv morning sickness? maybe ur gynae can give u some tips on weight gain?

Priviledged : Good that you're training ur kids while they're still young. My girl has been pampered by grandparents, so more difficult to teach now. Anw, i sending her to after sch care next year, hopefully can train her to be more independent.

2boys_mum : start asking baby to co-operate.. hehe...

pepper: Am not sure about standard... ai yeah... by today, most schools in Singapore have some standard la... stress is perceptive.. train kids to take things in stride and some stress is good.

Our kids these days so sheltered... actually also the reason why hubby insist on putting gals in HPPS instead of trying hard to put them in MGS... he feels that some stress to 'fight' for space in choice sec sch is better than sheltering them for 10 yrs.. dunno his warp thinking of just plain lazy to go and try other schools...

My friend's kids are in FMPS & have some friends teaching there... haven't heard about the separation bit... but doubt so... cos MOE encouraging schools to build relationship with community etc... which is the reason why alumnis are the in-thing for the past decade... and the priority scheme for alumnis.. the partners award, etc... I'd think they want to preserve the strong bonds. As far as I know, both FMPS & FMSS celebrate major events together & the older kids do CIP (community involvement projects) with the pri section.

Suika: I had epidural in 2002. Not sure about cost, but no pain... also, at the back, cannot see needle... in fact, didn't feel a thing at all! Maybe anesthetician expert cos specially chosen by gynae. No history of backache so far... yes la, when tummy very big & spine off balance at the later stage, backache now & then, but not the prolong kind. Will most likely opt for epidural c-section this time... provided #3 do not arrive earlier than expected like her 2nd sis... #2 was so early, I had to do emergency c-section again... gynae says no time for epidural as afraid labour progress & complications arise.

gelato: I still hv the minimum signs of morning sickness and no appetite for food lor.. two weeks ago, went to visit KKH (24hr clinic) due to brownish-red discharged, gynae thr prescribe me with progesterone (hormones pill) to stablise my MS.. hv to report these to my gynae tmr and seek for advice..

emq: my 2 also arrived early, i also went for emergency c-section...

this time round still deciding whether to opt for epi

Just got my order from moms in mind delivered!! Can't wait to go home and try on. I'm SO SO bored with my wardrobe.

miako moms in mind has strapless bras, need to use padding that's sold separately.

fiona u're a very strong person.. hang on in there. Maybe try to avoid your ex for the time being, the things that he say wouldn't help u move on. No offence, but he sounds like someone who wants to have his cake and eat it: dun want daddy/married life responsibilities but wants the benefits that come with it. So far the single moms i know all have a happy ending.. m sure u'll find urs in the near future too.

ange i've the same problem as u, cuz most of my frens either not married or married w/out kids. I'm not close to those w kids. Sometimes i also find that it's their perception, some always say, oh u married already mah, cannot go out so often - which is not really true, cuz my HB doesn't bother how often i go out, it's only whether i want to or not. And personally, i dun like last minute appointments and to stay out late cuz I live far from the city. Something that they dun seem to understand.

Hmm, was considering natural birth without epi, but heard from my fren who used my gynae for her two babies that when she asked him whether should go without epi, he said "What for?" Hahaha! Basically he believe that delivery is not for mother to suffer, the whole objective is to get bb out safely and quickly and with as little discomfort as possible to the mummy. Mummy suffer also won't get a medal, hahaha.
I haven't discussed with him yet though. Still considering. Still leaning towards no epi...

Suika: There's a epidural c-section option... meaning, only lower body numb but mum conscious. So mum knows what's going on, & can see baby as soon as its out. For GA c-section, mum is 'knocked out'... will only regain consciousness much later, then wait to be pushed back to ward before you can see baby. Also dad can observe epidural c-section but not the GA one. So since both #1 & #2 emergency, both GA & hubby couldn't go in. Now considering epidural so he can go in with me... heard recovery for epi better than GA cos mum conscious & possible to breastfeed earlier (higher successful rate the sooner you start breastfeeding)... but heard from friends who went through it, it can be quite nerve-wrecking and can feel gynae cutting, tugging, etc... painless though cos numb liao.

EmQ: Yes, friend and nephew staying in JW currently. Haha, I rem the big buses! Things have changed and time is money.

As for having short nipples, I guess some 'exercise' can help stretch them? The exercise is something like 'tuning the radio dial'.

talking abt breast feeding outside, I'm perfectly fine with wife doing so, of course discreetly. The other day I was at a rather quiet eatery in JW for dinner, this PRC customer just lifted up her blouse to BF her daughter of at least 4 yo. Gave me a scare!

EmQ: sorry...epi c-sec is still taking out baby from tummy directly rite? where they hv to cut tummy correct? what's the difference from GA c-sec? how come 1 daddy can go in see whereas the other cannot? i'm abit confused there
