jumperoo is a fantastic product.. it keeps baby occupied.. and he learns the connection that his movements can trigger the music.. and he also learns that his fingers have the power to make the toys spin!
i guess walkers are terrible for the baby's development if u dump the fella in there the whole time.. me going to buy a walker for hayden.. prob the lucky baby red "ferrari" one.. kekeke...

aiyoh..i got the activity station from Fifi..brought home fix liao, my baby sitting on his bumbo watching his daddy fix then guess what?? It dont come with the seat!! How can rite?? shuld come with the seat mah..alr ask fifi to check liao..so my boy now can onie see but not play..keke

thanks for the links re exersaucer and walker, I was looking for literature supporting my suspicions of these products, glad you found them! I'm not too keen on the jumperoo either, I've seen videos of babies bouncing around quite vigorously in jumperoos, it is unnatural for babies to move and support their bodies with their developing joints in such a manner.
I'll be sticking to my belief that the force of impact of using the jumperoo will be detrimental to baby's joints.

My hb also had the same thots as u... So he was SUPER reluctant to let me buy a 2nd hand aft I showed him (with my daughter in the jumperoo) at mothercare. Then I tried my luck with the exersaucer and I got the same "....." reaction from him.

tamms for me the only reason i'm not keen on an exersaucer or the jumperoo is tat i think both are bulky n take up too much space n rather ex for somethin i'll only be using a few months only.
my daughters all started walking at 9months or so, so tat's like 4 months of usage? wa really not worth it! my girls were all in the walker tho n it did not stop them from walking early - the walker is also a lot cheaper.
but yes both the jumperoo n exersaucer are cute tho no argument there from me. lol.

Maybe 15-20mins in a day should not do any harm, but apart from incidence of fractures in the exersaucer article, I'm also interested in the long term effects on joint and spinal development. I'm a runner myself, and I know for a fact that pounding the pavement regularly causes wear in the knee. In this instance moderation is key, so I have to try to balance the positive effects of cardiovascular activities with slowly degenerating knees. I do not know if spending time on the jumperoo gives my baby a headstart to future joint and spinal injury but I do not want to be a possible contributing factor to those problems later in her life.

yeah the exersaucer is super bulky for sure .. my friend lent me one when Calista was born .. she told me to keep it till Calista was bigger and could sit in it ... I returned it after keeping it for only a month .. it was too bulky !!
I couldn't tahan havin it in my hall .. lol. So Calista never got a chance to use it.

I know the article by KKH on walker, but not the article on exersaucer. But both articles never mention jumperoo. Or I miss the mention of jumperoo. So u not getting jumperoo?
Regarding walker, I think Sam's 3 daughters are evidence that walker do not hinder walking. As for my 7 months bb, she is starting to cruise around my playyard, not tiptoeing also. She will hold on to the edge of the playyard n try to walk around.
But my mum n hubby who insist on getting a walker do agree that walker is very dangerous cause of the speed it can go. So now we keep her around her playarea when she is on the walker.
N u r right on the adult supervision. Cant leave the child alone in walker. But for jumperoo, sometimes my mum will leave my daughter alone to do housework but so far ok. Think now she cant crawl out so it is safe. But soon cant liao, must watch over her. Usually we put the Parklon playmat under her jumperoo when she is jumping. Now my playmat got dented mark liao. Sighs...

3) very fast.. 2 to 3 times can liao. now mine know how to bite the spoon liao and hold it up there. LOL

u start cereals already? I thought ur bb is on TBM.
I start cereals slightly earlier when my bb is close to 5 months since she is not Breastfed. Read that BF bb should start cereals at around 6 months. I dunno how true this is.

1)1st few time is during daytime. We started with feeding her a bit of cereals after her milk (not the usual volume). After that, we gradually increase the portion. It take around 3 days to total replace 1 feed of milk.
2)We feed via spoon. Never bottle feed cause it will hinder bb development of feeding.
3)She is ok with the spoon. Just that she will stick out her tongue to push the spoon out. But after a while, she get used to it. Take the 2nd feed, she is ok liao. But everytime when we try new food, she will still do this to try out the food 1st. If good taste, she open her mouth wide wide to eat. If not to her taste, she will turn her head away from the spoon.

Never mind if cant get the jumperoo due to ur hubby objection. Guess he is concerned over the safety n possible health hazard to ur bb. I am sure u can find better toys for ur gal.
Dropping hairs: Did any of u experience dropping hairs recently? Lavendery told me we will drop hairs from our bb about 4 months until they are 1 yr old. I only start dropping this month when my bb is 6.5 months. But I cant afford to let my hairs continue drop till my bb 1 yr old cause by then, I may be bald when I hold her 1st birthday bash.
Any of u got good way of stopping hair from dropping? Especially seeking advice from sam, iemiko, 2nd bb n those who survive this hair dropping period.
