It is ok not to enjoy ur 1st mother's day. U will have many enjoyable mother's day to come. Imagine next mother's day, ur bb can call u mama liao.
I also dun enjoy my mother's day since my daughter has slight fever, up n down since last evening. Now we waiting for PD to open doors. I suspect she is teething n yesterday weather was bad.
Did u do anything to stop hair dropping? Cause I dun have much hairs myself so really really very worried over this hair dropping. I can already feel my hairs flatten at some area.

u got e wooden one from ikea? quite like this waterproof cloth one..thk $65 only, but really quite shaky. heh, we saw one super chio one from robinsons, but it's almost $400 after disc -_-

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day....I did...I got my first Mother's Day card that Emma made with the help of her teachers in babycare...
Anyway, here is a poem that I saw which basically summarises my feelings about motherhood....
BEFORE I WAS A MOM
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.

Hi Mummies,
A belated Happy Mother's Day to all! Guess so long as our little ones are healthy and happy, everyday is really Mother's Day for us!
My little one got a card and plastic flower for me, with courtesy from Daddy! hahaha.. it's sweet lar, but now i got to "reciprocate" for Father's Day next mth! haha...

i strongly suspect i got it too... mine is being too demanding and aggressive towards HB recently. Little things cud make me jump.. jia lat, any mummies got the same symptom? I feel as if im back to my preg days when im jumpy and super demanding. actually deep down i knw my HB is trying very hard liao, since he got to werk 6days workwk, but everytime someting goes wrong, i will juz flare up... like last nite, i realised dat bulk of Kasia's fotos taken shortly after birth and from Feb-Mar09 are gone (not sure if CD is spolit or i din save properly), i became soooo sad and jumpy. not HB's fault but i vent my anger on him... bad hor? 2day he on nite shift and he still wakes up early to help me feed and change Kasia... feel so bad.. :_(

like all the mummies here hv shared, husband and wife all have their ups and downs. we are outsiders, not in the best position to judge of cos. dun think u feel good too as ur inside the situation. but juz hope dat u will make the best choice and decision for yrself and Ambrose. at the end of the day, no one can ever replace a mummy's position in the BB's mind & heart. BB knw when a person truly love and care for him/her. dat explains the unique bonding b/w a BB and the parent. whenever ur feeling vexed, look at yr BB's smile and eyes, they tell u alot =)

This is my last general note to mention on my case. I think I have been repeating myself. I have brought up the issue before A was born twice. There is 1 mum from this thread who probably wanted to stone me during that time, coz she is probably v annoyed on why I get myself pregnant if I really don't want the baby and also asked why I keep thinking of abortion or adoption.
I don't share the same sentiments as most of the mums here. most mums will try to save marriage for baby side, or try to have baby's custody as they believe that they are the best to take care of them. I am not so "wei da". If I want to save my marriage or hold on to this family, then should consider going to counsellor, etc. I have no intention to save the marriage. If I really want to save the marriage is more of I really want to be with my husband for best of my life, I felt that it should not be coz of the baby. If it is just coz of the baby, I felt it is just out of obligation.
I don't think I am the best person to obtain baby's custody. the old regulars here will know how reluctant I am to have this baby, even until now there is no change to this. I also have no concept of family especially that I come from a broken family. I always wish that my biological parents should have given me away for adoption instead of spending their days beating me and asking me to earn $ for them. I have seen counsellors n child psychologists great part of my younger days. They don't help. They just ask questions, give some advice... then give my parents advice, and my parents just continue like that. The problem ended when I left them for good. I have not been in contact with them, I didn't inform them that I told married or have a kid. I feel v sore when pple like to bring up the issue that I should reconcile with them, I don't see the point to.
The other reason of why I don't think I should have the child's custody is that I have basically no support. It is not like I have my parents or siblings who can help to take care of the baby outside infant care hrs, if I need to settle stuff, or even if I need help. I also no see myself in bring a good financial support for the baby, I won't be able to cope.
I have passed the income ceiling for legal bureau. I have always been a depressed n pessimistic person since a kid. I always look tired n sian. I don't think I am having post-natal blues. If I have that, I don't think I should have survived doing confinement and spending maternity leave all alone when my hb is out. I also don't think some1 having post-natal blues, will be able to give the baby over 10 nicknames, take the baby out for half day trips at least once a week, etc. But I think I should have suffered from pre-natal blues instead, coz apart from crying everyday, I don't wish to go anywhere much except to work and study.
I don't see what is the bad part if my hb gets baby's custody. He will most likely put baby with IFC or nanny and at nite should be my in-laws taking care of him. My hb love the baby a great deal, he won't beat him but he will beat me, he does know how to take care of baby - feed, diaper change, bathing. it is just that he doesn't want to provide much for the baby. so if really he gets the custody, he will kind of have to start providing, which by right guys are expected to. I don't expect to do a switch in responsibility with my hb, I don't enjoy providing, but if you want me to stay at home and take care of a bb, i am willing to.
I have not concluded if I want a divorce, coz I also need to consider if I can cope without a family or not. I don't have a family to turn to at all if I divorce, which is v unlike others. But if worse come to worse, I will go for separation and PPO 1st. although I understand from one lawyer that I should be able to file for divorce direct.
as of now, life is still per normal for A. he got both parents to rotate in taking care of him, when he was sick we took him to PD, we take him out from time to time, and I have been visiting other mum's house to use their facilities - jumperoo, swim tub, we still take videos n photos of him... he does smile and look cute n innocent (we know he is a monster). i think he does know when to cry or watch quietly especially when his parents r shouting at each other, etc.
Talking abt baby's photos, how come ypg u didn't post urs up? if u have FB, can add me in, the photos n videos r up there.
sorry for the long story, i better get going. i have a surgery this morning to remove cyst and have been zzz coz pain. now going to fetch him fr IFC before rain gets worse.

Juz, bringing up a baby on your own is really tough. I guess you are in the best position to judge the best for you and your child. Just make sure you keep an eye on the child's father, if he gets custody. Violence is a sign of losing self-control, and the abuser can find it easy to shift their anger from one victim to another.

Kath, I envy you leh. My baby insists on sleeping in our bed at night, and I can't sleep because he keeps waking me up!

I just spoke with a friend over the weekend, and she told me that generally, baby girls are conceived when the couple BD in the day time, while baby boys are conceived in the nights....was just wondering how accurate this is...Emma was conceived in the morning lor....for me that theory is accurate leh...

Regarding hair loss:
I was dropping quite a bit of hair and so my hairdresser layered my hair quite a bit at the top. She say like that will be lighter and will prevent me from dropping that much hair. I dun quite like the result coz I feel my hair quite pong... but I do see that I drop less hair.

Kath and Jowin, yah... David has a lot of hair, not like his mummy. My hair dropping like nobody's business. At first not so worried, cause I started out with a lot of hair (my stylist used to complained I use too much hairdye
