Baby's milestones:
Actually my MIL told me that my hb skipped crawling and started to walk instead. So I guess it is ok if ur bb still haven't flip. But of cos, we can help them along by "training" them la.

for me, i put my bb for tummy time about 1 hr after she finishes milk (prevent her from puking out the milk). This is to train the shoulder area. My neighbour say must put her on her side to let her try. Sometimes I kelong, I put her on her side, she dun move, I will push her buttocks until she flip over.

hippo and jowin. same here, my baby flip twice then until now no more liao! i just always wait and pray i can see it again!!!
hi hippo, last time my boy also didn't like tummy exercise, then my PD commented baby louis neck is too soft compare to other baby according to his developement. i quite anxious. then i starting to do something for it. like put him on top of ur body. so, he will like to hold his neck to look for ur face. amaze him! then, slowly put him on the bed, put some interesting stuff or colorful picture in front of him so he will look at it. or when bathing that time, let him lie his tummy on the bath tub. when i try to put baby louis on his tummy on my bed, after 5 mins, he will shout and frust, then i quickly pick him up and hug him and tell him he did a good job. then slowly increase the time. duirng his tummy execise, i will dance in front of him, tell him how good he is.. now he like the tummy exercise.

mommy_louis gave really good ideas for encouraging tummy time with bbs. I find massaging (using lotion or bb oil, with broad firm strokes) a good way to let my bb start to get use to tummy time too. Other things to try, which is something the physiotherapist in my school would do for children to help dev their neck/shoulder muscles, is to tickle/lightly run your hand at the bb's back from neck down to the spine. Bbs will naturally arch the head upwards.
You can also try supporting the baby on a gym ball rolling it forward/back/sidewards gently (while holding bb at their hips) while singing songs. Even when carrying your bb up from a lying position (face up), try to lift the baby sideways (with both your hands under the bb's armpits) instead of just directly facing upwards. This way, bbs will also need to utilize their neck muscles more. And of cos, alot of praises, smiles and encouragement becos bbs at this stage are starting to understand communication thru language.
Erm.. hope i am not confusing anyone here. Just sharing some stuff that we usually do in my work place that can be applied to any developing bbs.

Haha... My daughter where got curly hairs. It is false 1. I post the picture to show u how I hide her hairless (or rather not much hairs) head.
At 1st she dun like us putting it on. But when she is outside, she is ok to have it on. We make it a routine that everytime she go out, we wear this headband or hat. Guess now she thought if wear this mean can go out so she happily put it on.
Flipping: I think all bb develop at their own pace. Some faster in motor skills, some faster in speech skills, some faster in hair growing speed (my bb super slow in this).
My bb flip at around 2 month cause she is lighter than other bb so it is easier for her to flip. So if ur bb is heavier or bigger, it may be tougher to flip. How heavy is ur bb, Jowin?

i got this problem of transporting milk home.
I m using the medela cooler bag. Realise that the milk tat i pump in office @ 12pm... turn abit metallic taste when i warm up...I put my office fridge and transport back at 6pm with the cooler bag n ice brick... 1.5hrs to reach home.. shd not be any problem...
is it because my office fridge is TOO COLD and when i place the cooler bag, the temperature change.. & reached home , place in the fridge the temp change again..
I realised that the milk i pump @ 6pm in office too is ok... as they are not put in the office fridge.. straight in cooler bag n bring home.
Sigh.. The milk will not turn bad but quality reduce...

metallic taste is due to excess lipase. Doesn't mean that your milk is bad. Excess lipase taste will be more obvious the less fresh your milk is. If your girl will take it then it's fine. Don't worry, your milk is still good!

I was also pumping poorly when I first returned to work. I read that it may take you some time to get used to letting down for a pump, especially if you usually direct latch and seldom pump. Like me, when I was on ML, I latched all the time, hardly pump. My first few days at work, only pumped about 150 in total! Only 50ml each time. To pump better, I tried to relax and to massage my breast before I pump. Also, I try to pump more frequently for shorter period of time (e.g. 4x 15mins each time, rather than 3x 20mins).
Have you also tried handexpression? Google for Marmet technique. I usually hand express after I pump, and it will yield me an additional 20-30ml.
I've heard that manual pump can be harder to drain the breast, so that may be a problem. I'm using Medela PISA. If you want to try other pumps, can go to Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group. They have pumps there that you can try.
Don't stress, okay. The more you stress, the less milk will come out. You can do it!

yah, i have been latching on all time. i used to expressed at home using ameda when i get very bad sore nipples initially..could get around 200-240ml.
but i was very sick of washing and sterilising, so i prefer lacthing on...
when back to work, was afraid cant get a power socket so decided to use the manual pump...dunno is it the manual pump that makes my let down very slow...
very worried because the slow letdown was my right breast ( kena imflammed before) so supply in the breasts always seem to be lesser and more prone to blocked ducts..
i try to latch baby on whenever im with her now, so that to maintain supply. not sure if it helps..
how long did it take you to have a good supply at work?

Thanks. Yes i Know about the excess lipase but i m trying to see how can i maintain the quality of the milk as this happen only to my 12pm milk .. the 6pm milk are still ok. I think this got to do when i transport my milk. The temp of the milk keep changing.

I think better to use your Ameda if you find that to be more effective. Where are you pumping that you don't have a power point?
Like you and jowin, I have slower flow and ss on the left side, where I kena blocked ducts and mastitis before.
Try not to think about the milk when you are pumping. For me, I will play a game on my iPod to distract me. I will just keep an eye on the time, so that I stop after 15 mins. I usually also try to get 2 letdowns on my good side.
My milk supply is not fantastic but it's enough. My supply stabilised after 1-2 weeks at work. I pump 3-4 times a day and get 2-3 oz (60-90 ml) each time. So in total each day I get about 8-9 oz (240-270ml). But that is still not enough for my baby, as I leave behind 12 oz (360ml) for her, split into 4 bottles. So I will try to pump 1-2 more times at night to make up the total amount.

Sorry I misunderstood your problem. I think it's not that your office fridge is too cold, but that the milk gets a bit warmer when you are transporting it back. Maybe you can try getting a better cooler bag?
