mayelynn - i gave him that nick. coz that time during confinement i was alone with him, so pretty sian, then give him an indian sounding nick. oh yes, he is also called MPB (stands for morpeng baby).

piGgiCia - ya, but i have a feeling that his grandparents will give him all these nonsense behind our back. no no, what i mean is that my colleague who is a lady has big eyes which can melt guy's heart. that's why she can comment that A doesn't look cute coz his eyes are small. U organising baby sumo gathering eh? where's venue? i don't really smile at A. i usually sigh & pout at him. what has H glued to u do with crankiness?

talking abt nickname?? My ger has alot...

Most common is " ice cream aka ice si-ka-lim" cos the old folks dun know how to pronounce Ashlynne.

Then when she just shaved her hair. they called her botak... then nowadays, all of us call her Ashlynne or AH Bee aka Baby.

My MIL call Zachary Chiak Curry.. wah liao. I hear liao oso sian. Told hb to ask her to use chinese name instead if dunno how to pronounce his name correctly..

They call me Kat onie cos not many ppl noe how to pronounce my name correctly..sigh. Thanks to my dad for giving me such cheem name

Baby names: Aiyah..alot of people also laugh at my baby name: Cayenne Pang - They call her Kay Yen: means Funny in hokkien Haizz.. So mean! I just ignore and say to my baby so kay yen hor - some people cannot pronounce your name properly... then these people will shuddup.

Jowin: I use avent manual pump. Thumbs up for clearing lumps

Bottle Feeding: Who else baby is refusing bottle?? Please go and buy Tommee Tipee bottle!!! It somehow works for my baby- for 10 mins!! HEY that's an achievement already! Gonna try a few mins everyday!

Hi mummies, i have been a silent dec 08 mummie and enjoyed reading the posts here. Now need your advise on the type of yaolan frame that is good for babies. Understand that there is the inverted "U" and the "fishing rod" type. Would appreciate if mummies can advise which is better (or are they all the same) in terms of
1. stability;
2. safty;
3. comfort;
4. peroid of use eg up to what age (is it true tat the "fishing rod" frame can't hold a heavier child as compared to the inverted U frame; and
5. any other feeback/info would be great too.

juz.. eh... he super cranky ma.. and will keep fussing... and to calm him he has to stick onto me lor.. its very irritating.. and he still does it when he is not feeling too good or just being silly.. haha..

Aris, i bought the fishing rod type from WTS.. it creaks but after my hubby put oil then ok le.. my son doesnt like the yao lan so cant comment much.. he doesnt like hanging off a net.. keke..

nicknames: i wanted to slap his teachers when i heard her call hayden HAY.... zzzzzzz.. i call hayden YU ZHE sometimes, ZHU ZHU, Monster, Mini Phang Phamg coz his daddy is Phang Phang.. hahaha.. oh.. and da pian da wang (poo poo king) but most of the time, he is my BAO BEI..

Came up to office to clear emails and clean my desk while waiting for his next feed..

Phyl, nowadays Hayden looks like his daddy hor esp the eyes! N he is so cute..all photos of him during baby gathering is like surrounded by bb gals..hahah

I bought the yaolan, as shown below. I am selling it away cause my mum prefer the fixed on wall type. I dun dare to buy the fishing rod cause those who use this (relative and friends) say cant use for too long as baby get heavier.

1 tip for u: If want to use yaolan, dun use the net that come together with the yaolan. Use indonesian batik clothes to make into yaolan cradle. My bb cant do without the batik cradle.

i used the fish hook one.its not so stable when the baby is heavier. the baby does not sleep as long as the wall kind (my mum's place)

we use the net cloth sold in kiddy palace. also not good. baby does not like it.. seemed scared by the holes..

hahah mayelynn,bubblepearl..giant n lion is far from the bryan n ryan wor..keke I also got the same problem hheee.. My MIL always pronounce my baby Randall as Lender. Think he will grow up become money lender haha.

Aiyo...seems like very jialat to pump at work..I also thinking of bring my own small fridge there coz I dun want to use the shared fridge. I tot we can just sterilize the pump with hot water?
 
Oh ya my bb Hanyu pin yin is Ren De then my MIL ask us to give him a dialect name call Lan Teck last time n I refused coz sound so funny haha instead just name him Randall...

Initially my girl also doesn't like the yaolan in my house (same as YPG's), but after going to my mil's pl (ceiling mounted), she's likes to be rock to zzz. So now thinking of getting one as a spare for my mum's pl. Any mummies who like to dispose their manual yaolan set, pls pm me. I'm also looking for another yaolan spring and hanger only. Any other feedback will be much appreciated too. Thanks.
 
My baby bully me!!
I realise my little Summer like to bully her mummy --> ME!! Ytd I left her at my MIL place to buy her some more NUk bottles.. and quickly rush back by her next feeding time.. guess wat? By the time i reach hm, she had oreadi finished her 100ml of FM clean clean w/o fussing at all!! Damn.. when i was ard she would fuss n scream her lungs out till she gets to latch on for milk..!! Then she started her saga agn when i reach hm.. die die wanna latch on a short while b4 drifting to sleep.. Damn sian..!!
 
Has anyone tried or considered motillium (domperidone) to increase BM supply? I feel very discouraged with BF. Each day at work I have to pump 4x and only get 8-10oz at the end of the day. I try to leave 12 oz (divided into 4 bottles) for my girl, so I have to pump extra at night and on weekends/off days to make up the difference. I've been taking fenugreek and the lactation tea from MIM but the effect is only a bit. And my girl isn't gaining weight well (only 5kg at 3 months!). So I'm thinking of taking medicine to increase my BM. Does anyone know if I need a prescription for motillium/domperidone?

I got the exact same yao lan as u.. but its becoming a white elephant liao.. cos I realise my gal slp better n longer face down on her own bb cot. Inside the yao lan she still get scared constantly.. her arms will jer up in the air.. then she'll cry n wake up v fast..

We alternate between yaolan (my mum's one) and my mum bed for my gal to sleep. So she still can sleep at other ppl place, not that must have yaolan.

But because of this, my $299 baby cot become white elephant. End up we convert it to bb changing station. Haha...

Nickname: My mum call my gal 虫虫 (it sound her name, Tong Tong) as in 懒惰虫, as she very lazy. If we put a pillow under her when she is on her front, she will rest her head on the pillow, very lazy right.

i think every baby like to bully their mom. :S my baby boy also always cooing with my parent-in-law and sister-in-law, but, he doesn't like to cooing with me??!! so sometime i very worry if i start work in May, and my sister-inlaw taking care my baby, maybe he will close with my sis-in-law more than me. or maybe he dunno i'm his mother??!! would it happen? since my sis-in-law stay with us, and baby Louis will facing her everyday.

hang on.. as they are bigger, easier to handle. the 1st-2nd months were nightmare...now easier to catch her cue.

yes manz.. my yao lan are brand new. she only slept like once or twice.. as if inside got needles.. she sleeps better on my big bed n her rocker.
 
previously my baby can sleep though the night in his 2nd month, but recently he always wake up freqeuntly, about an hour in the mid-night.

he will kick the bed and made a very loud noise. dunno why suddenly he behave like that. my boy is now 2 month 3 weeks.

My gal also like your gal. When I am at home, die die I must feed her or carry her. If my maid tries to feed her, she can cry for an hour or more. That's why I am very worried, how's my maid going to cope as I am starting work soon.

My BM also not alot... just enough for her 6 feeds every day... I just try my best, if not enough, just give her FM when I get back to work. I am thinking of not pumping at work, just rushed home and pump. If not, so troublesome. I have no place to pump, have to pump in the toilet. Might as well keep the milk in my boobs... cleaner...

echo, motillium can be bought from pharmacy. i have frens who took max dosage of motillium. like any med/supplement, did increase abit of ss for some but nt significant for some others. i myself have tried metoclopramide (dunno if correct spelling) previously. Also nt significant. u can try to see if it works for u. even if it didnt help, at least u can tell urself that u have tried ur best n everythg out there that is available! if our body doesnt response well, it's nt within our control also mah(hee, tt's how i consoled myself lah =P)

hi echo, i brought the motillium from Mt avernia phamarcy. its quite cheqp, i tried, its work, but, u have tov displin pump every 3 hours. i stopped after 1 1/2 month. i'm not displin ane stress that time.

my boy only sleep thru few days then after my parent-in-law and aunty and sis-in-law here then baby louis wake up in the mid-night. v

Thanks. So you didn't need a prescription to get the motillium? I'm currently only pumping when I'm at work. At home I latch my girl. Now at work, I'm pumping every 2.5hours. Good thing my bosses are supporting of BF!

Do u take cold drinks?
I have not taken cold drinks for more than a month plus and i realised my BM supply is better when i dun take any cold drinks. Today i managed to get 6oz pumping for 10 - 15 mins. I take lots of hot soup and drink only warm beverages. Hope this helps.
 
echo, u read joanne's blog?? No doubt breastfeeding is good but hv to make sure we are eating the right stuff for the benefit of the baby..

Better not take other 'drugs' to increase supply other than fenugreek.. dun tink is good for the body or baby leh..
 
mommy louis, zach oso can sleep through the nite..first 2 nite i fed him with abit of water. then following days he will cry at diff hours to test his luck in getting milk but fail. Each time he will eh eh for 15minutes onie..so not tat bad. I will usually flip him to sleep on his tummy then he will continue sleeping till 6.30am..sumtimes 4.30am iw ill latch him still.

emeraldbride, hmm..actually a LC i spoke to b4 said fenugreek is e least safest of the 3 leh, coz there has been little research on it. Drugs like motillium are being given to bb directly & there have been lotsa studies so it's safer. My PD also dun wanna comment on fenugreek althou he noes of many mummies eating it. Of course, nt having to depend on these 'drugs' if got choice is the best lah..
 
Sam is really a very easy name to pronounce already! omg... ah sim is so funny.. anyway i read all the funny stories abt nicknames i laughed so hard. esp money lender and lan teck.

Fabbie, my name is Stacy but alot of pple cant pronounce it.. esp when i call up restaurants and make reservations. most pple cal me tracy. my mil call me teh see and my fil call me pay see... pay to see.. lol and they like to correct each other when both of them are wrong..
 


on nicknames: i called my ger nini chong cause her name is cidney and she always got swaddle and like to wriggle like a worm... happen her surname is chong..hahaha, my mom calls her oh ni gu...cause she's botak with a few strand of hair growing on top of her head...
