wow, i admire you. after feeding still pump... i'm really very lazy. pump must wash sterilise, store blah blah blah. plus when i pump, i get very little milk too.

i'll be gg back to work in april. i think i will slowly cut down bfing in march then go formula in april... terrible rite? my daughter was bfed till she was 7mths old but that was partly because i wasn't working... now tt i'm gg back to work a bit troublesome... feel so bad that i'm stopping bfing so soon but it's really tiring lor.... =p

I dun mind sharing. Maybe we can try to take Mrt down hehe. we must JIA you! to bring our babies out.. Mine recently very fussy. keep crying. canont take it. lol. abit scare. but i wont give up! hehe that time then say ba. when im at home hehe

my boy have his 1st dose of rotavirus, 6 in 1 jab and Penvear jab yesterday. He have slight fever last nite. Give him 1 med and he is alright liao.

My boy was 5.3kg yesterday. His birth weight was 2.8kg.

Wat is yout baby birth weight?
 
Hi gals,

yesterday my boy after his milk at 1030pm refuse to sleep ans wan to chit chat with me after his med lei. Only sleep at 12 midnight when i pump milk. He heard the pump motor and slowly close his eyes and sleep.

Then he only wake up for his milk at 4am then 9am. i keep waking up and see he ask for milk anot cos his last feed is 1030pm. End up i wait till 4am then he drink milk.
 
ivy nope. i will bringing my bjorn. dun think people stay in central. aiya. nvm lar. just go lar. is not everyday thing. hehe we can ask meryidth want anot. she stay in jurong. then we 3 can share.

My boy birth weight was 3kg and older than your boy one day.

He has sleep for whole day after the jab, my mum ask me to give him 1 feed of paracetamol after the jab for prevention fever. I keep wake up him for milk every 3 to 4 hrs and took his temperature. He has slight fever only in this morning and now seem like ok after taken paracetamol. I'm worry his temperature since yesterday till now and can't sleep well for whole night, wake up every hour to check him. Being a first time mum that why feel nervous.

i need help!!! my boy has not been sleeping since yesterday afternoon!!...Brought him for his 1st pneumococcal jab yerterday (no fever last nite), & after he come back home, kept playing & dun wan to sleep... okie, or i shd say only wan to be carried to sleep..the moment his butt hits the bed, he wakes up n cries...IF we manage to put him on his bed, he will oso only nap for half an hr max..then start waking up..

This morning after his bath till now he havent slept for more than 1/2 an hr thurout...i patpat n patpat till i fall asleep le but he still looking ard.....Haiz...dun wan to sleep, keep "talking" & after he "talk" sian le, wans to be carried..

HB & I super zombie trying to get him to sleep last nite..

I tried the water method last nite, but he doesnt even drink. & yes my boy doesnt take pacificer also..haiz..i'm so tired now while he's so alert looking ard, wan to play..
 
pastillies, for a short while i got a shock..thought ur boy slept since yesterday afternoon n din wake up! Hehehe

I suppose he got scared during the injection thats y he wans to be crried to sleep? LEt him sleep on ur bed wif u guys..see if he can sleep better? Maybe he needs some assurance.
 
dunno what went wrong! Overnite my milk supply drop so much..all after my fever 2 days ago. Now pump 30minutes onie get 60ml..previously pump 10minutes alr got 150ml liao.. how? need to continue pumping every 3 hrs to get back the supply?? Sigh..

My girl usually latches on for ~45 mins in total, 20 mins each side. When I pump after she latches, I can get between 0.5-1oz. If I pump during her long naps, which is about 2 hours from the start of her previous feed, then I can manage about 1-1.5oz. I will accumulate my pumped milk till 3oz and then freeze. I don't have a big freezer stash, maybe about 12 bags (3oz each), but hope to continue building up.

You are not freezing your milk? Do you plan to continue BF when you go back to work?

I really think this pumping business is super troublesome.. Must always pump to maintain supply.. When going back to work, very worried that supply will drop... pumping dun extract milk as efficient as baby, hence the breast will think baby dun need soo much... Sigh...
 
emeraldbride, but this is not his 1st jab leh...he already went for his 6-in-1 jab 2 wks ago. He had fever then after that jab..but no fever for this time.. i already let him sleep on our bed in the day but he still like tt..
haiz.... HB's home, taking over handling bb now..my turn to take a rest..havent rested since this morn....now evening le, worse, he's become more fussy n cranky le..not playing anymore..

Hopefully BB will sleep well tonite, if not its another round of sleepless nite..
 
echo, i not freezing my milk leh.. when i go back to work, i will continue pumping. Zach will be going to the infantcare juz at the same building as where i m working. I hope to be able to increase my milk supply and then bring those refrigerated milk to his infant care..and then those that I pump during office hour be used for nite time.. dunno will work or not leh..haha

Gerry, i oso agree lor.. pumping is really troublesome. Last time when i was on total latch on, i never get blocked ducts! Then now baby start on bottle i get blocked ducts and sian, supply also dwindling the moment i get fever. I alr ordered an extra pump accessories so that i dun hv to keep sterilising but i oso bought the micro-steam bag from Medela, can use microwave to sterilise, faster 3minutes onie..hehe

Ya lor.. But I think I will let my baby latch-on when I get back home in the evening.. Makes sure that my breast gets thoroughly emptied and plus I think baby will be more comforted... Keep those that I pumped at work for next day feed... Will only keep a few frozen stash for just in case...

Is the medela bag one time use and then throw away?? Where did u get the bags?? I was wondering how I was going to clean the pump parts??
 
Gerry, the bag can be used 20times and there is a table behind the bag where u can tick off the number of times u used it. Each box got 5bags. I bought it from one of the spreeist.
 
Gerry, even now I feed my baby EBM during the day time and latch him at nite and this will be the same when i start working.. at times i dun like frozen milk cos got this fishy smell one leh..
 
So stressed... last week, I got severe blocked duct on my right breast and my supply dropped dramatically. Then when that one cleared, I thought can slowly start to build up, I got an even worse blocked duct on my left breast this week. Visited Parentcraft but can't clear that blocked duct. Now supply super super low... like 50 - 70ml per pump only, and I'm starting work next week. Looks like it's heaven's will...the way things are going, I prob need to put him on formula liao. (T_T)
 
I read that there are some prescribed drugs that can increase milk supply... Apparently, that drug (motilium) is used to treat nausea and gut problems. But it also works to increase milk supply.. If super desperate can ask ur doc about it....

If baby latches on, will it help to clear ur ducts?? I really think pumping can significantly reduce milk supply...

my milk supply also drop alot.. after clearing the block ducts.. it drop to 100ml per breast.. used to be 140-150ml per breast

emeraldbride, no leh... they never teach me. The midwives there are super friendly though. They counselled and consoled me... tell me to take it slow. Mrs Wong was a bit fierce... told me to go on FM supplement

But after that she also told me that breastfeeding is not everything...

Gerry, I'm on total latch on, still cannot clear that blocked duct. Today mum came over and told me to "take the afternoon off". I went out shopping with sis and when I came back, I felt a bit engorged liao, and the duct seemed less blocked. Think must be the stress I'm feeling.

This morning could pump 100ml. Hope my supply will build up before Monday...
 
Actually I kinda agreed with Mrs Wong that breastfeeding is not everything. During my 2nd month of ML (in SG), each time go out hv to bring BM, hv to find hot water supply to heat up etc.. but now i m back in MY, when i go out, i bring FM..easily prepared, not much of waiting time. Baby oso cry less..hehe but because i m very adamant and since i alr set my mind to it, i will not give up lor..
 


Yah,, I also agree that the inability to breastfeed is not the end of the world... A lot of us grew up with fm and we all turn out alright!! Hehe!!

Yeah stress is a major factor in milk production.. Best is to relax and take time out for urself.. Very impt to know that you have to take care of urself before u can take care of ur baby..

For me, I also find breastfeeding very challenging and tiring!! But at the same time convenient... esp when i go out..cos i just have to give my girl my breast...no need to prepare anything
