So many posts.. yesterday was very busy so no time to log in.. busy with wat? Busy 'chasing' TVB drama "Gem of Life"..hahaha

Fabbie, I am ok with weekdays as well as weekends. I tink weekends better rite as everyone will be more free..but i m flexible. Afternoon is good.. mabbe can meet abt 12noon, we have lunch and then chat chat chat..keke
My baby finally realises my breast is onie available for him at nite and morning so in the afternoon he never fusses liao..haha! I hv to quickly wean him off my breast else when i go back to work jia lat.. he can smell me from afar man!

all members at my hm are down with flu and cough and running nose. That include me. hubby, mil, fil, sil, my elder boy and my baby. My baby have blocked nose for quite awhile but havent recover. I think cos all of us having it and the virus is passing here and there so take longer time to recover.
My baby havent poo for 2 days liao. is it normal?

like to ask those mummies who freeze the milk. When u thaw the milk how long can the milk last? Like if i freeze 6oz in 1 bag then if my baby is taking 4oz the remaining 2oz can i keep in the frigde?

anyone giving pacifer to baby? I dun wan to give but my MIL keep nagging and say bb cant wait for his milk and will try very loud so let him take pacifer while waiting. I worry next time he got hook to it.. How?
My 1st baby didnt take so i have no problem with that. But now #2 take next time dunno how to wean him off it.

my boy hasn't poo for 3days liao lor, called PD & the nurse asked me to wait for another 1-2days wor, but if today he nv poo again (4th day) then i'm going to bring him to see PD tomolo...
ya i used the wide neck last nite but failed laa... but since last nite hor my boy started to fuss again during his feeding time, even though i switched back to slim bottle... PD said it maybe bcoz he never poo... 3 days liao only got input but no output... worry laa! anyway i'll try the wide neck again after he managed to poo...

jappooh, normally i pour the thaw milk in a bt and jus feed my ger in another bt on the amt she drinks, the rest i jus mix with my daily EBM for the next feed... my ger is on totally on EBM thus she does not fuss about any nipples for bt or pacifer...

Bryan just went for his 5in1, Pneumococcus & Rotarix jab this morning. Now he has just finished his milk and zzzzz. Crossing my fingers that he is one of the 95% that does not get fever!

I want! I Want!!!! I missed the last gathering due to my stupid fever and now i'm ok. However, my boy will be at the infant care 1st day this Wed and I'll be there with him for 1/2 day. So, it will depend if he is ok or cranky. If ok, I think me and my hubby will drop by for a short while

Pacifier - there are many school of thoughts on this topic. Most stated that some babies needs to suckle more than the others and pacifier bascially build their emotional strength and jaw muscles. Initially, I did not want to intro the pacifier but seeing my boy cries and can't be consoled is heartbreaking. So i gave in and now he will suckle for a while and when he is done, he will spit it out. So both mummy and baby happy
Milk Intake
Just checked with PD this morning for my Boys' decreasing milk intake. Apparently this a normal symptom for babies advancing into 3rd mth. Their milk intake will decrease and the hours will stretch. PD advised not to feed babies when they are half asleep (even though sometimes it is easiest time to feed). This will result in obesesity as the baby is not actively controlling what he needs. The rule of the thumb is, they drink when they want and how much they want. Even if it is only 50ml from the usual 140ml, that is fine (as long as no fever or severe nose block).

im confined back to kkh again. kayson has got high fever n gotta be admitted again. super sianz. full septic workout done juz like 2wks ago. argh. actually managed to bargain wif dr not to do lumbar puncture if results show tt his urine shows bacteria growth n as he has no contact wif anyone who is sick. end up urine clear (which is i dono good or bad) so hav to go ahead wif lumbar puncture. poor bb.
now all prelimanary results shows normal. means not urinary tract infection or wat. mayb juz viral fever. todae he start having veri watery stools n he kip purging. now i guess most likely he got diahorrea.
if got family member tt r unwell, make sure they stay away from bb coz ydae nite at a&e, there were lots of bb seeing dr.

menses - my menses not here yet leh. i gave birth on 17th nov 08.

ME TOO!! my ss actually dropped half the amount men!!! It's not the CNY house visiting, it's the last min shopping during the weekend before CNY!! Have been doing this pumping diligently for 5 weeks and finally can achieve 120ml every 3 hours but just one weekend ruin everything!!!am trying to eat more oat to bring back the ss...
I told my mum to spare me from all the house hopping this year. so 自我懂事以来， this is the 1st time to have such a relaxing CNY..

Re washing of breast pump, I just rinse immediately after use every time and then let air dry. Once a day, I will sterilise. Sometimes I rinse with tap water, other times with hot water from the kettle. So far so good. BM has its own antibodies, unlike FM, so it won't breed bacteria so easily. But must wash immediately after use. Once the pump parts have been sitting out for a while, I will wash with soap.

woo, thanks for checking with ur PD on ur boi's decreasing milk intake..i felt so relieved after reading ur PD comment..my ger oso has decreased her milk intake..n her milk intake super inconsistent..sometime she can drink 100ml, then the next moment, she can only finish 60ml..it kind of worries me..but seeing that she demanded milk regularly every 3-4hrs, i simply ignore it..today saw ur post n am glad that its a normal sign as they are progressing into the 3rd mth liao..phew..anyway, my ger max drink is only 110ml, she's nw into 9weeks old..

sorry, i need to ask abt diapers again!
I am in Malaysia now n his Mamy Poko diaper running out, so I bought Huggies Dry and Huggies Dry Comfort for Zach to try.. but realise that size S cutting is super small, like NB size and when he wears, his urine will usually leak to the side and wet his clothes..stoopid!! And his buttock n groin area skin is very red and soem even peeling - guess he is sensitive bah..
I remember u gals mentioned one variation of Huggies which is good..which one ah? Also Pampers, there are a few variations, which one is the better one? I need to go medical hall later to buy instead of supermarket..here so disappointing, supermarket so big like jusco dun even carry Pampers brand..

Just need to vent! My boy was taking a combo of breastmilk and formula since birth due to my extremely low BM ss.
The formula that I first gave him was ok initially but when he was approaching 2nd month and my BM ss stopped completely, I noticed that he started to get bloated and very hard to burp. I tried to source around for other infant samples for him to try and guess what NONE!
STUPID Regulations prevents any information on Infant formula and the only information available is from 6mths onwards. The reason being SIFEC has sort of stamped out any sort of promo of info on Infant formula as they want to encourage breastfeeding. Thing is, WHAT ABOUT MUM'S LIKE ME WHO WANTS TO BREASTFEED BUT NO MILK SUPPLY!
Wah, super angry sia! This makes me feel as though non breastfed babies are unimportant! I mean, Breast milk supply is not within our control and if our body just could not produce,wat to do? Feed them water? I think we should all be able to get source and information on all the infant formula available as this is such an important stage that any information available will enable parents like myself to make more prudent choices! yesterday was super tired... my boy was cranky & only slept for one hour for whole day (on & off), & last nite kept waking up & cry esp after 6am, i offered my breast to him but he also din wan to suckle... guess he is uncomfortable bah coz never poo for past 4 days so going to bring him for PD later, but hopefully he can poo before seeing PD, else got to spend money liao laa... haiz!!

huggies's cutting a bit small lor, u din manage to get Mamy Poko there ar?
for the range of Huggies brand - Huggies Ultra (purple) is the best followed by Huggies Comfort Dry (red) then Comfort Dry (blue)
as for Pampers brand - the best range is pampers comfort (yellow pkg) for NB/S or pampers active (purple&green) for M size onwards.. there r cheaper range like in red or orange pkg but dunno good or not...

Kath, i am using Huggies Ultra S for my boi n it is good but one thing bad is the cutting is small, anyway i am gog to use M for my boi after i finish all the S.

dr juz came. confirm a case of viral infection. haiz. poor boi went thru all d proceudres n end up its viral. tink most likely is a case of gasteroenteritis. so mummies, beta let ur bb take rotarix to prevent all these k. my boi yet to receive any immunisation since birth. =(
todae most likely can go home if his poo poo is lesser n intake slightly beta. praying hard.

Sigh... i also asked for a sample of FM from the PD before. But the nurses refuse to give them to me and said only after 6 months. Ask me to focus on TBF. I am considering giving her both FM n storage BM as my busy schedule at work dun seem to give me anytime to pump.. So might therefore stop BF.. Before that wanna try out several type of FM too..N buying FM seem so ex.

jes, they hv Mamy Poko but my boy's skin also chapped wearing that brand. So I thought of switching to Pampers and see how. I guess this diaper thing do not have samples, hv to buy and try. Buay ngam then no choice give others lor.
I do agree that FM is super expensive. I bought a tin of Similac in Malaysia, and worse they dun hv a small tin hv to buy the big one and it cost me RM60++..my jaw nearly dropped!! Mind you, in my hometown, onie got like 3 brands of milk powder.. super jia lat..super outdated!

I am so frustrated 'cos I tried calling the compaines to ask for samples and I get the same response that they are "NOT ALLOWED" to give infant samples but they can give for those above 6 mths. What kinda logic is that!

Initially he was ok with Friso but since 2mths + I notice that he drinks lesser and still has a lot of wind in his tummy after each feed. When I tried to burp him, either it takes more than an hour to burp or no burp at all. If he didn't burp, his milk intake will drop drastically. So I tried to switch him to enfalac but realised that he started to have phelgmy throaty sound and he didn't poo for 2.5days. So I put him back on Friso and the phelgmy sound was gone but the wind issue was back. Then only 3 days ago I swtiched him to Similac and all the above issues are gone. He burps within 5 mins of patting and still poo daily and now his poo is very similar to the time when I did combo BM & FM. Hopefully this will be the final formula that he can stick to. But I tell you, trying to hunt for information for each of the formula is so difficult. I had to resort to their website in other countries for some understanding. Sometimes, the formula in other courntries are of different make and packaging so it is very hard to determine which one to get in SG. *sigh*
I am so frustrated 'cos I tried calling the compaines to ask for samples and I get the same response that they are "NOT ALLOWED" to give infant samples but they can give for those above 6 mths. What kinda logic is that!

When I tried to burp him, either it takes more than an hour to burp or no burp at all. If he didn't burp, his milk intake will drop drastically. LuthAdel - Mine all the long while was on Friso. In between, got some S26 instant milk from one of the thread mums & he grew fat v fast, so after the instant milk supply finishes, we decided we won't buy S26 for him. tried dulac with recommendation from another thread mum, started on sun, stop yest, find that he throw out more milk than usual & poo also turn greyish n harder. For Friso, mine keeps drinking like nobody business, he does burp, just that he seems to still have lots of wind. sometimes don't know whether should try other FM. some mums from woodlands thread told me not to keep switching formula. but don't switch also don't know what's best...
