i actually looking at the AVIVA one cos understand that if both parents buy under AVIVA, children covered free as well till age 20...but the rider only covers co-insurance. Deductibles still must pay.

pastillies.. i got the aviva one.. to cover the deductibles, can get one additional plan from NTUC.. thats what my agent is doing for me..

i'm also quite blur abt it la.. but to wat i understand.. lets say the hospital bill is 10K then the plan will cover anything abv 3k.. so 3k i pay.. aviva pay 7k.. then by buying the ntuc insurance, they will pay the cash portion for me.. but i think 90% nia.. so i pay 300, ntuc pay 2700 and aviva pay 7k..

on top of this, i bought an accident plan from aia.. so if he was warded due to accident, then the pre hospitalization 100 day and post hospitalization 100 day all treatment is covered.. so can claim from aia..

boon lay is hot spot for dengue now... haha.. but ladies.. remember to do your 10min mozzie wipe out every day oh! =)

gill, merydith... i bought the sebamed too.. it works for the milk rash ard his mouth n chin only leh.. but it doesnt really help the baby acne that hayden is still plagued with..

kiddy palace got a promo pack wor.. got 2 facial cream, 1 nappy rash cream, 1 bb lotion n one bubble bath... all for the low low price of $43.10.. haha.. since hayden's skin so disgusting with the rash/acne/cradle cap all over his face/head/neck/body/arms... i decided to try the products on him...

hayden very funny wor.. i got him a sarong thing aka yao lan and guess wat.. he doesnt like it.. and now he sleeps well in his cot!! waste money, waste time... i bounced him for 1hr last nite and he wakes up once he is not bounced... zzzz

your little boy so poor thing.. but like you said, no one could have prevented it. Just to share, my husband had some kidney problems when he was a toddler..not sure what it was exactly (cos i dun understand when my mil tries to explain!) but accdg to my mil, the problems all went away when they followed his doc's advise and got him circumcised when he was 5yo. You might want to ask your doctor about this and if it will prevent future reoccurrence...

Hey, if possible try not to let him use the yaolan. My #1 had a rocker that he HAD to use when sleeping so poor us had to ferry it around when he slept over at our parents' etc.. only kicked the habit when he was around 11mo.. really headache!

pastillies.. eh.. my agent do for me one.. we bought the medisave aviva for me n hubby plan 1 then bb will get plan 2.. which is ok coz it covers restructured and kkh is restructured hosp.. eh..i remember filling up a form for bb's free covereage..

then for the ntuc one hor.. my agent havent give me the papers yet.. i think the other one that will cover is the pink of health plan.. i think that is aia...

i pm u my agent's number la.. then you ask her.. no need to commit to her la.. just kaypo ask her phylicia bought wat insurance.. hahahaha.. she is also my house agent... very talkertive but helpful.. not out to make money so sincere lor.. very auntie also.. kekeke..

10min mozzie wipe out is to make sure no stagnant water at home.. so empty your pails, cover your bamboo holes, change water in vases and check for clogged drain holes... i dun work for NEA but in my job.. i also gotta do this everyday.. hahahaahaha..

gill.. me recently into a mad phase of finding ALL ways to make him sleep better.. he went thru a phase last week of ONLY wanting to sleep on my chest or hanging off my breast! so to keep my sanity, i bought a yao lan.. i also bought a bb carrier... i also sling him in my pupsik and have tried every sleepable surface im my house.. e.g. sofa, swing, rocker, stroller, my bed, sofa bed..... i also try pacifiers- which i have 7 of them now.. water, gripe water, ridwind, ru yi oil, the j&j sleep better series of products.. hahahaha.. he better not force me to put him in my cat's bed!! haha..

seriously, I tell you ... pastilies is right .. babies sleep better when you're next to them .. let him sleep on your bed with you next to him .. I can guarantee he will sleep better .. you will too !! it's easy to nurse him and he feels so comforted that you're just there and not chucking him in a cot that he'll sleep happily and soundly ..

even nap time in the afternoon ... sleep with him .. he will really nap longer

how to feed using the nuby? I tried using that and after letting him suck for 5 minutes..the milk volume din even go down and he fell asleep without even drinking his milk!!!!! I shaft the whole teat in already till the massage area is at his gum leh???

Otherwise I use medela and Nuk silicon orthodontic ones. Tried Avent and he also seems to be ok with it. My mil has difficulties feeding with medela and nuk cos not use to looking for the "hole".

I always keep quiet when I hear ppl say that cos chances are .. you'll cave in on either ONE or all of those points ... no point argue with you now .. later on, when baby is difficult, then as a mom, no choice what .. if we see our baby sleeps better with us and sleeps longer .. IE WE ALSO GET TO SLEEP LONGER ... then I'd rather the baby sleep with me than keep trying to chuck in his cot ...

Sometimes mom's have no choice but to give in. Thankfully, so far, i've not given in to the pacifier, sarong and permanently sharing my bed..I sleep with the little one sometimes but once he KO, he's on his own in his cot so that i can entertain the bigger boy.
My biggest enemy though is the rocker. I have one sitting in the corner of the room just begging to be used but am afraid will end up with the same situation as my #1..he refused to give it up till he was almost 11mo!

About sleep,
my bb now sleeps so much in the day I feel I always have to wake him up to drink milk. Worst is during milk drinking, his eyes n face like mabo mabo lidat. It looks like he just drank alcohol lidat..Then at night, b4 he make a loud cry he will give warning first..he will keep wriggling n wriggling beside me, banging the bed with his hands..so end up I will have to feed.

your baby is on schedule feeding ah? Actually, if he sleep during daytime, just let him be la.. Then when he's hungry, he'll wake on his own and guzzle the milk down so feeding time will also be shorter.. win win situation right?

Check with your doc first okie. If he recommends circumcision, i can give you the details.. My baby was circumcised at 3wks, recovery is between 5-8 days (my son took exactly 8days!). But i heard that the doc will only do on babies who cannot roll yet and after that is toddlers who are toilet trained, so if need to, now would be the best time for your boy.

ya like wat Sam says, i really do feel that bb sleeps better on our bed when i'm sleeping next to him.
But i'm glad tat i managed to restrict this sleeping habit to daytime only...nite time he's okie to sleep in his own cot..probably he "koes" that at nite mummy & daddy in the same room so considered "keeping him accompany" too??

Sam , hee i must say i'm guilty of wat u mention! but so far hv given in to sleeping on same bed in daytime only & the pacifier....actually for the pacifier i cant get my boy to take. neither can my HB. Bb will still scream n cry when we try to give him the pacifier. Only person who can make him accept the pacifier is my mum..

I didnt intend to get a sarong bcos i think my whole hse become a "childcare centre"!!! there's so many bb stuff (bouncer/rocker/ playpen/cot) All of which BB sleeps best on my chest, followed by our bed then his own cot...ya i think a carrier might be my next option since he likes to sleep on my chest so much;p

i hear ppl say let bb sleep sarong head nicer leh...mm my bb always likes to sleep on one side..i've been trying to get him to sleep on the other side but still no use...

I was so pissed off wif him, i spank his buttock..then i cry..he oso cry..end up sleeping on top of me at 3.20pm till 5.30pm and the cycle continues..ARGGHHHH...

the rider covers the deductible. From I understand, basically, you dun have to pay anything when the child is hospitalized. But not for personal accident that doesn't not require hospitalization. i.e. like fractures which can be treated out-patient with regular check-ups.
I din take personal accident as my hubby's coy will cover quite a bit. (couple of thousands I think).

if I am not wrong, you did mention you are a nurse rite? if the antibiotic is to be given by IV cannula then not so siong but to give via IM, that's no joke man. I used to give my rabbits s/c injection on daily basis cos they were sick. heartache to see them jerk. Well..at least they dun cry...
