Since now polyclinics under 2 health groups, I think got difference. Coz phyl's polyclinic got 6-in-1, mine (Bedok) told me dun have and no package fee also. So I got to go for Hep B at my BB 1st month n 6th month.
Actually jab are free unless you go for extra. For Singaporean BB, you dun have to pay for Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Poliomyelitis (DTP, Polio) but if I want to inject against meningitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), you got to take 5-in-1 jabs and pay. In another word, I am paying $350 for this Hib jab.
According to the leaflet I got from polyclinic, it stated that Hib vaccinese have not been included in the National Childhood Immunisation Programme as Hib meningitis is uncommon in Singapore. As for why chickenpox not included in the free jabs, it is because chickenpox causes only a mild illness in childhood.
But I kiasu parent, so decided to go for 5-in-1 and chickenpox (I think around BB 1st birthday). I think chickenpox vaccination is a must, cause I heart pain to see my BB suffering. I got chickenpox when I am 13. Till now can still remember the suffering.
I will forward you my email to MCYS.
