my lochia has no clumps, just bright red, gynae removed almost all of the clots for me, he showed me all the clots, wow some were really huge!

hahahaha Dr Normal is like that. that time 2nd day of birth.. i told him my behind itchy. he scolded me for not bathing. -____- i also wish to ah! but how to. haiz..

Then yday saw him say my below pain he say its normal. but really leh. im quite pain till im very fan now. haiz. but i see how. after 2 weeks. if still pain i will go see him again.

why you wan 8 Dec? special day? hehe is better to listen to him lar. he scold us is good for us also hehe

gill that time i have a big clot came out from there in hospital. it bleed lor. but didnt bleed that much. thats for me lor. =) till now i didnt bleed till overflow. my blood is dark red. i duno how to different shade which is lochia or menses. Hmm but is 1 month having menses its really CRAZY!

omg ... aqeel is really adorable!!

for me, the clots came later .. like after a few days ... I went to the loo to poo .. and suddenly I felt a few lumps coming out from down there .. turn out to be lumps of blood clots. other than the one or 2 pieces on my maternity pad, mostly it's like thick dark red blood like menses ... ok, there are some splotches on bright red.

ew man .. this is the part of childbirth that i hate. the bleeding ...

my lochia is super heavy too!! Nurse hv to use 3pads at one time. the moment they change or I move, it flows out on its own. more lochia is better?? today my wound feel abit sore - blue black kinda feeling. I'll be so scared of the pain when they remove the catherer.. ouch!!

forgot to update.. Tara gave birth to a baby girl last nite at 2348.. baby weighs 3.115kg!!

her's was a long labour.. induction from 8am in the morning!!

btw any mummies out there have any idea that if we choose to induce the baby, do we have to pay extra? i beleive so right?

and how much do doctors charge for induction??

Tara: Congrats!!! Looking forward to your birth story & pictures of your gal.

Fabbie: My gynase didn't want to tell me the number of stitches! But my husband saw her stitching me up & he said it' about 7 or 8.

llig: My lochia isn't a lot. My gynae pushed my tummy after birth & after that my mom boiled some herbal soup for me that's supposed to clear lochia. Now my lochia is like normal period Day 4. Not using maternity pads or those super long ones anymore.

iemiko: I also started to pump out my BM & gave Preston EBM sinces yesterday. My let-down is so fast that Preston chokes and he can't latch properly without my BM flowing all over his face. Very messy...i pump out easier. Too much milk!

So now Preston is only bottle-fed...i don't latch him anymore. Maybe next time when he's older & can cope with my fast let-down i'll try again. Sigh...

Each time i pump (bout every 3 to 4 hrs), i get 125ml from both breasts. I get engorged very easily & if i don't pump, i feel pain & heaviness.

Annt21 & Jappooh - i also buay tahan. i vomit nearly everyday. usually it's coz of heartburn then vomit. also can't zzz well. and still need to work.

My lochia is bright red..like fresh blood..previous pregnancy was dark red and thick.i just asked my massage lady today and she said it might be because i've low blood count..does that make sense?she said that it should last around 2 to 3 weeks only,after which,if i stil have cramps,then i would need to get medication to flush my womb..

Halo everybody,

it's been a while since last i came in. i hv POPPED on 3rd Dec 2008!!!

my birth story:

4.00am: Got waken up by stronger contractions accompanied by minor pain. they lasted for bout 1-2 mins n happen bout 5-6 times per hour.
5.30am: Contractions get more frequent n stronger. They are happening at about 5-10 mins interval.
6.00am: Informed my parents and hubby bout the pain, went to toilet to pass motion n for a bath. noticed there're some blood coming out n know that i must go to hospital.
6.45am: Departed to hospital
7.18am: Admitted into Delivery Suite. VE shows that I was dilated at 4cm. Given enema to empty my bowel
8.30am: The contractions get stronger, and i ask for a painkiller jab. it makes me feel sleepy n i can still the pain. VE shows I was dilated at 6cm.
9.10am: I feel Isaac was pushing towards my anus. I told nurse that I got the urge to push. VE shows I am fully dilated. Doc was in, n they called for my hubby to b back from his coffee.
9.37am: Isaac was finally out with vacuum extraction. Birth weight: 2.34kg. No epidural.

I forgot how many attempts I made to push him out. I only remembered that I was scolded once by doc for screaming in pain once!

I will post the photos later when i got the time. take k!!!

gill, yr boy looks alert.

For the no. of stitches, I forgot to ask my gynae. M curious to knw hw many stitches on me too.

Pris, my CL also boiled the soup, but reali taste awful. I get wat u mean when the milk is all over Preston's face. Hee. Yr milk ss is gd leh. I only have 100ml from both breasts when I pump 4 hrs interval.

My CL seems to be commanding my maid to do this and that. Dun reali like the idea. Everytime when ask her if bb burps, she will say yes and put her back on bed. But I have been observing, bb doesnt seem to burp so quickly.

Sam, my girl slp and slp too. The first 5 days she only opens her eyes for a few seconds. After the 6th day, then she open her eyes for a few mins. Her photos taken are mostly eyes closed too. Haha.

haha 2nd baby .. ya la .. my hubby and I not used to it leh ... my previous 2 girls were alert and kept wanting to be carried ... so actually this is much better .. she don mind being in her cradle ... she'll lie there quietly even if she's awake and slowly drift off to sleep ...

hi, i'm from jan09 forum. My full term will be on 6 jan and gynae told me that anytime after 25 dec i've to be ready. Last wk there were 2 times alternate days i had white watery discharged coming out from below and yesterday went to hospital thought that water bag might be leaking but it was not. Instead found out that contractions were frequent. Everyone told me that baby might be coming soon (like these few days)... Just like to know any mummies here encountered similar scenario? Baby current weight only 2.3kg only. In this case, if bb coming out does it mean pre-mature? Whats the benchmark?

2nd Baby,

I have 3 other girls .. my eldest is 9 and she is more than fine with the new addition, my 2nd one who's 4 is also fine with her ... my youngest who's 2 is ok most times, but when she gets upset nowadays, she die die want me to hug and kiss her and carry her ... very tiring cos my body is still recovering ... their appetites are fine though ...

try "manja-ing" the elder one more especially when the newborn is asleep. that's what I try to do so they don't feel left out.

2ndBaby/Sam,
My elder boy enjoys the baby whenever he remembers him. haha.. He's only 18mo so probably doesn't really grasp the concept of a sibling but attempts to kiss/sayang(hug/stroke) the baby. Baby cry and he imitates the cry then laugh at the baby. Quite cute actually.
The best thing that came out of it is that he's finally more generous with his "mama"

I guess now that i have started carrying him again and he has a seat on my lap again, he's decided to 'reward' me by being a good boy....?

My little boy sleeps alot too and i'm so grateful for that. The picture above was taken just after my husband wrapped him up. Each time he is wrapped up, he can sleep and sleep..so shiok.
When he sleeps and the elder one is awake, its 100% attention on the big boy so that he won't have a chance to feel left out

Jus checked the web.. stitches should dissolve within 2weeks and to relieve the pain, it is advisable to lie on the side instead of on one's back.

Hi ladies,

Gynae suggested inducing baby within the next few days. M apprehensive, altho finally decided to take up suggestion.

Shall be in hospital on Wed to induce. Hospital suggested that i return only the next morning since baby likely to be delivered then.

Is this safe?

Anyone had such experiences? Ist baby usually takes a long time?

Dee, did your gynae at RH suggest to induce u too? Apparently, common for my gynae.

Hello ladies,

Hope it's not too late to join the forum now, but I got a few questions before I go in for my c-section on Tuesday.

Has anyone got epi for c-sec and not have the side effects? Are the side-effects like shaking and vomiting a definite?

We have to pack our own pjs to the hospital right? Can we wear t-shirt and pj pants? Must it be the dress kind? If wear the pj pants, will it be difficult to change pads or go toilet because of the wound from the c-sec?

How is breastfeeding affected by the c-sec? WIll it be too painful? How long after the op do you start to bf?

How long after you return to the ward will the nurse bring the baby to you?

How's the pain after the op? Is it manageable? I won't be having a confinement lady and my mom-in-law will pop by everyday to check on me, but not really take care of me. Will I be abe to cope with the care of the baby?

I'm so nervous about the op and I'm freaking out! Hope you ladies can help!

Dun noe is it to scare or nervous the whole nite never slp. Haiz....Really hoepe that i have a short labour pain.

i din suffer any side effects from epidural besides itching as morphine n fentanyl cause itching but will wear off afta 24hrs so not to wori.

as for vomiting, i did vomit when i had my 1st child. drank abit of water n all came out. usually its due to all d wind in our stomach. so juz take fluids slowly at ur own pace. sips at a time.

bring ur own pjs depends on individual. which hosp u delivering at? at kkh, pjs are provided. if gg for c-sect, dress will be beta as its easier to change ur pads n lochia will be quite alot so frequent changing needs to be done.

best is to get a binder to wear post-op to help in supporting wound.

bf wun be affected so not to wori. i manage to bf immediately afta i reach ward.

u may consider getting a breast feeding pillow to help u. i find it easier to feed baby. more comfortable position for us too.

if bb is well, they will bring bb to u immediately afta u hav settled down in d ward.

pain immediately post-op is low as effect of epi is still effective. can ask for stronger pain-killers if pain is unbearable.

for mi, i manage to walk 12hrs post-op. all depends on individual.

i don confinement lady as well. juz my sis pop by to check on mi on her off daes. so far im managing pretty ok as im workin as a nurse n taking care of bb is pretty easy to mi. hehe.

did u attend antenatal classes? gotta know to take care of umbilical area, feeding bb, changing of diapers.

Paulyn, yr case is exactly d same as mine! i completely understand how u feel. Let's pray that we can dilate n nd not csect and at least we tried to go thru the natural labour. Nvr try nvr noe, its a 50-50, let's jiayou k.

Btw, which hosp u b gg? I'm at Mt A. I'm thinking of taking a 4bedder 2 lower my expenses 4 d juz in cae but hb thinks otherwise....

izu, there must be a reason gynae wants to induce u. For my first bb, my induced labour was very long (13 hrs), but I tink depends on indivdual also.

Yep now Preston only takes EBM...no choice. Sigh.

I have to pump every 3 hourly else my boobs get engorged & painful. Tried to stretch to pump 4 hourly but cannot...too engorged & i start leaking & soaking the breast pads. Spend so much time pumping daily!!!

2nd baby: How old is ur #1? Seems that she's finding it tough to adjust with all these changes. Try getting both maids to spend some time together with her so she can get used to the new one. Or you can follow Sam's suggestion to manja her when your #2 is sleeping.
