btw did you all let your baby to drink some med before injection? to drink that is to hope baby no fever after taken injections(5in1, 6in1 blah blah)

my PD did told me us feed her a spoon of med. 1st.. after her jab.. to prevent fever.

My neighbour recently told me what Jowin said. give the baby paracetamol (the pink liq given by doc) immediately aft the jab. Dun care if she got fever or not.

AVENT bottles (Big size)
I asked Robinson Centrepoint and they said the BPA free avent bottles (big ones) will only be stocked starting this coming week.

so far my boy is ok after the injection *touch wood*

Yes, the doc will provide the med. Get a syringe from her for u to feed ur baby.
 
When Zach went for his first jab, I din give him any medicine after coming back so he end up wif fever. The 2nd time round, I asked the nurse, she say can give is better so that he wont feel pain in his butt and prevent fever. True enuf, we gave him the med and he did not fuss at all the whole day - mabbe abit sleepy lar..no fever too!..hehe

Day 4 bb in IFC. She was aslp when we picked her and when she was awake, her cries were not her usu eh eh but continuous ew ew ew... and her body was burning hot! I/C told me her such cries happened in the afternn and they tot she was hungry, so fed her and she slept. They took her temp underarm and forehead and both read 36+.

Her body was sooo damn hot and she take her forehead temp again only to show 36+. Super ridiculous. Home is only 10mins or lesser away. I took her temp-underarm and it was burning at 38.3deg!!! WTH lor...... So mommies w bbs in IFC, pls insist them to use the underarm thermometer no matter wat the forehead one is super not accurate for bbs!!

My bb developed fever which spiked twice to 38.6deg after the vaccination(6in1, pneu & rota). We did give one dose immediately after her jabs but fever still came on. The panadol dosage is determined by the bb's wt. My bb is ard 5+kg. My PD advised min 1.2ml and max no more than 1.6ml at 6hrly interval.
 
yesterday my in laws came to visit Zach and dunno which one of them carry him when i change his diaper later, got bruises ard his waist and rib cage! I was so heartache.. to have blue black on baby must be exerting too much pressure when carrying. Now i noe y Zach keep crying each time they carry him..uncomfortable and too hard. super jia lat one lor.. angry!

oooh...wat an unpleasant incident!! hope Shannon recovers soon.....You should raise up this issue with the principal or the manager.......because once baby has a fever....parents should be informed immediately....

What kind of thermometer does the IFC use? You mentioned they measure her forehead...i suppose its the infrared kind? My experience with those is that they are very inaccurate....My IFC uses the ear thermometer...but I know that is also not accurate though it is one of the most popular thermometer around...

My PD suggest also to measure underarm...though the PD we saw in Italy told us to use a rectal thermometer....I guess the most accurate one will be rectal...
 
kath..omg..did u tell ur PIL? Must tell them leh..it is not scolding them or wat..just to let them know that the particular carrying position may not be suitable for Zach..
 
bubble, I will let my hb go tell them.. I showed him last nite and he onie managed to say sorry. I so heart ache, last nite cannot sleep well..sigh!
 
these few days i discover tat both Daniell's leg has blue black mark ler, dun think it's birth mark coz i nv seen before, but if really blue black then i really hav no idea why & how it comes lor... hubby asked me to bring him to see PD coz he said he noticed tat daniell's leg swollen lor.. but to me i think tat is alright ler coz baby's leg is chubby one mah...

I suspect is my FIL cos he super big size and his hands are weak so he has to use extra strength to carry Zach. They all see I carry him upright they oso wanna follow but zach dun like them carrying him tat way so he will wriggle up n down..they prob hold his waist tighter and the thumb place on his rib cage too hard tat's y got bruises.

I just sms my hb say that must tell them and if tis sunday they still carry him n i found bruises, i will not let them carry baby anymore!

my boy took 6in1. my PD told us to give him 4 hours aft injection cos the vaccine will take effect only 6 hours aft injection. so if take immediately, by the time virus start running, the med will have prob worn out. he dun have fever aft that but jus for incase, we gave him 4 doses of 1.0ml. cos my #1 got terrible fever when he took the 3in1 from polyclinic las time. heartpain and we were so regretted..

how long does yr bb take to finish bottle milk?like 130ml of milk, my boy take abt +-30min. very long hor??
 
ikeike, my ger oso caught a cough after 2 wks at the infantcare, luckily she recovered. But she spread to me... and i jus recovered... Dr. gave me the antibotic suitable for BF on mon but i got worst, then my coll. told me tht a few of my office coll. got infected by this virus called macroplasma, need the right antibotic to recover, so i went again on wed to c the Dr. and told him and he prescribe me an antibotic that i can't BF, so now i gotta throw away my BM for 1 wk...

...so sad... but i decided to keep some of the BM to give my ger a milk spa this wkend... hahaha...

i think it depend on individual babies, some fast some slow, my ger normally finish her 120ml in less than 10mins.
 
just came back from baby fair..

to me nothing much leh.. alot of those insurance, spa, slimming stuff.. which i find v product pushing.. took me 20 mins to drive there coz so crowded couldnt find car park.. natas fair really ALOT of people.. walk less than 20 mins go home liao and din buy anything except a pillow support for my back

my baby finishes 120ml in 10-15mins these days..

last time used to take very long like 1 hour but now faster already. however some times if he drinks too fast he will puke out alot.. sometimes will choke on puke and cant cry out.. v scary. once it even came out from the nose. This is even after we burp him. so drink slow also good.. last time he doesnt have this choking problem.

just wondering.. until now coming 3 mths liao, my boy still drinking 120ml leh.. is this ok? enough or not? he is now 6.5kg and pd says above average so i dont wan to increase intake.. fear of overfeeding leh.

my boy takes 10-20mins to finish 140ml. Pd says 30mins ok leh, got babies take up till an hr to finish one..

mayelynn, good ur boy gaining wt fast. BM must be power ah.. my boy takes 140ml, only 6kg nia.. like so small size compared to my frens' babies who are on BM. sob, sometimes feel so guilty for being a lousy cow =(
 
heh, then my boy must be like wat daddy says 'jiak liao bi'..
i tried giving 150ml few times liao but he always cant finish, so sticking to 140ml for now..

my gal 10am drank 5oz.. then about 1pm should drink... she drink little bit(1oz) then cry.. duno whats wrong with her!! then nvm. i pat her to sleep. she sleep till 4pm wake up. i feed her again. she drink 1 oz only! then dun wan to drink.. keep drinking.. sighz.. whats wrong with her huh. its her feeding time liao. why drink so little? =( so frusting
 
my boy is stil drinking 100ml at every 3hrs internal, he is 3mths 10days today. everything i give him 120ml, he drink 100ml only. but if i give 100ml, he like drink not enough.

fabbie, there is a period when my boy drink like ur gal. 1 whole day can drink only 500ml+. then i went to PD, he say it's ok. bb will cry for milk if he or she is hungry. if past their feeding time still dun wan to drink is bcos their body got 'reserve'.

i every 3 hrs i give her milk. is she keep carry on like that. my milk will be wasted liao. cus my bottle of milk always give her 5 oz. and she drink 1oz.. then 4oz throw away ahh.. wah liew haiz.. damn sianz... duno when will be back to normal. they cry for milk i give. she drink abit cry. wah lau. then if cry everytime i take out my milk. confirm waste le. =(
 
jowin, i ask my mum to give my boy 120ml today. see if he drinks finish.

fabbie, no choice. that time i also wasted alot of milk. u can try to keep warm 2 oz 1st, if u see she drink not enough then faster go warm up another 2 oz.

Fabbie, could it be she dun like the bottle / teats? U tried changing? Notice u r using Pigeon. U got try Avent or NUK or Dr. Brown or BFree? I noe it is an expensive process but it is a way to detect y she is crying. If u dun wanna waste the BM, follow like what Mimi says.. err.. sorry ah, but mabbe ur girl is picky abt the taste of ur BM..did u try tasting it? U giving her fresh BM or frozen EBM?
 
My boy every 4hrs still drinking 120ml onie..if go by calc shuld drink abt 135ml but he dun wanna finish the FM..for BM i dunno how much he drink cos he is still latched on but latched on per session can last for 4hrs means shuld be enuf for him lar..last nite can last 5hrs.. i so worried..haha
 
10-15mins not fast lah, Ytd fever saga, her last milk feed at shocked me. They fed her at 5.05pm of 120ml and she finished within 5mins! Not dribble which I dbl confirmed. Her usu duration is approx 20mins. Furthermore the pervious feed is at 3hrs ago, which is her usu routine. Incredible rite! How can a bb using a S size teat possibly finish 120ml of milk in 5ml?! When bb tries to drink too fast n dun swallow they will normally hv alot of dribble on both sides of the mouth lor....Really dubious manz...Haiz!!! Keksim......

Bur, did u chk with yr IFC anyone down with sickness at that point of time? Any sickness at all sux for all mommies whom places their darlings in IFC. Though inevitable that kiddos do fall sick still.... However Shannon barely made it past the 1st week lor.... haiz.... keksim.....

i give her fresh BM leh. not frozen de.. Frozen didnt try before wor. I duno. i ask mrs wong she told me to get a large teats. thats her little advice when i was there and my gal was crying like hell. Then kana scolding from her cus ask me make her drink large teats and i change to med. all my mum's fault! arghz.. anyway will uby large teats and cry ba. If later at night still like that. nvm tmw go see PD will ask him.
