I just woke up with panty wet & pink & red discharge... think the baby is coming out... going kkh soon. i actually ended my last day of work yest & just start maternity leave today... like lavendery, i actually book BW today too. anyway, my husband will still go to work today 1st... and i a bit lost with what other stuff for my hospital bag. majority of stuff is in... except for complete set of toiletries n HP charger i think...

Mine is natural with epidural.
But somehow epidural failed to work on my right side of the body. Hence only left side of my body is numb, while the right side could feel the real contraction pain during delivery.

Initially i thought baby will be jumbo when deliver, cos she was estimated to be 2.3kg during 32th week. End up she's only 2.615kg during birth. Hmm seems like weight estimation while during scanning is not really quite accurate.

the only problem is that you cant cup yr breast with this position. have a pillow to support yr back..

Emeraldbride: My boy! Preston will poo while drinking milk & he'll have a very focused expression on his face. Haha...very amusing!

Lavendery: When i had the epidural, my left side of the body was totally numb but i could still some pain on my right side too. It's quite normal so that you can still push your baby out.

Yep, scanning for weight is usually +/- 300gm. Congrats on the birth of your baby!

Fabbie: Ya, pump out better...if you store for long, your brain will think the extra milk produced is not necessary. Hence, your brain will signal your breasts not to produce so much milk next time cos it's not needed.

Jowin: Not hao lian! Luckily i also got my parents who bought me the Prada as a diaper bag. Haha...my money also went to the epidural!

I finished my malay massage today! No more liao...i did 7 sessions altogether & my stomach is almost flat now. Still a little bit of tummy but look like i eat a lot only. Still have 2 more kg to lose then i'm back to my pre-preg weight. Cannot wait to go back to the gym!!! Must wait for checkup with gynae right?

Dear Mummies,
need to vent it out... sigh..sorry to "burden" your eyes again.

My boy is down with some virus, fever and cough...

Not sure who pass it to him and my mum was also found sick yesterday, and she keeps saying bb will not fall sick so easily in the first month, and she didn't even tell me earlier that she was already not feeling well since last week!!!!!!!!! Despite the symptoms she has since last week.

Now bb has to be admitted to KKH again. He so poor thing, blocked nose with high fever since yesterday morn. I feel so helpless and mentally and physically tired. Everyone warn me not to get tired and should rest becos I am still in my confinement, but how to??? when my son is so sick.

Nurse has taken some sample from his nose to test but the result can only be out tonight, so no medication for him for the time being. Only nose drop to clear the blocked nose. Thank God he is sucking better now...he basically refuse to drink yesterday so worried he will be dehydrated too.

So mummies, pls inform friends who are visiting to be aware that bb is low in immunity at this moment and should not visit if they are sick.

Argh.......I have a taste of it and it's really very very bitter and horrible.

jlow, hang in there.. you din tell ur mom abt it? Me n hb were actually scolded by the nurses when too many ppl were visiting me at one point of time and baby was passed fr one person to another.

Nurse was saying we will not know where those ppl went what they touch and they may bring in unknown viruses which baby will not be able to fight back..

So dun be sad ok..i m sure ur bb will be alright just monitor his milk intake and his temperature!

you can try having a humidifier in your air-conditioned room .. the air con is very dry for babies so I find that having a humidifier helps

can get one from Carrefour for around $75 - DeLonghi brand.

Oh dear.. Hope ur bb will get better soon.. Yeah a humidifier will be good if u place bb in aircon.. Their nasal passges are very small and easily clogged up.. plus bb will only breathe through nose.. so that's why they get agitated when u try to feed them when they have a blocked nose..

I actually dun like too many pple carrying my bb.. esp those who just come from work.. and if they want to touch my bb, they would have to wash their hands.. and no sick pple allowed.. my dad was sick last week and he didn't even go into the room to see his grandchild...

My gal fart and poo alot while drinking too!.. splash her poo on my mum's pyjames.. and pee on my mum's pyjames.. when she's helping to change her pampers faints.. my mum told me. 1 day she duno how many times must change how many pyjames hahha till she got no more pjyames to wear liao ^^ lucky me. she pee 2 or 3 times when im changing pampers. at least she didnt shoot to my face or body. but her own romper hehe.

Jowinbaby - I found BM tends to be more watery, hence it may not be filling as FM. My baby after BM, still can drink 50FM. my BM level is around 50ml. but if FM alone he can drink only 70ml.

Fabbie - 3hr pump is good, just a bit tiring. but it can build up your supply faster.

Have been behaving like a cow (BF) and pig (eat and sleep) for the past couple of weeks.

jowinbaby and rihan - My boy has been asking for milk (sometimes an hour after his feed)! I will first BF him (may last between an hour to 1.5 hours) which I estimate he would have downed at least 70ml of BM and he will still finish 125ml of FM! I nearly fainted! And he will be searching for milk again within the next hour to 1.5hours! My CL has been trying to extend his timing by giving im pacifier...

juz now too at 2.30pm, i gave him 90ml of EBM and after 1 hr he looked for my breast again... argh, i tried to 'ignore' him by but he die die wan, then i giv in lor & let him latch on, but he only sucked for 10mins then fall asleep again!!! walau, dunno how long this going to be coz he has no 'routine' AT ALL!! think he juz wan to suck...??

how many days already ur bb has jaundice? i was advised to giv more FM instead of BM ler, but i oso boh chap coz i wan to BF my boy... tomolo going back for PD review again, if jaundice level went up then bb has to admit to hospital liao, sianz...

btw, how long u gals normally leave the binder on ur tummy? she asked me to untie b4 go to bed but cannot ler coz i cannot shower too late, think today i'm going to bind for 5-6hr will do..

I've sms juzyounme twice, wondering if she has gotten a bed in delivery suite or not. Now already 4.40pm+, perhaps her baby prince has already been delivered.

She got the same senario as me, when reaching upon KKH, stucked at monitoring suite for sometime while waiting for available bed inside delivery suite.

Jess: Is it growth spurt? David is in his 3-week-old growth spurt I think. I looked at his chart (I obsessed. Records my bfing timings) and I think he is in his 2nd day of the growth spurt liao. Read somewhere that growth spurt can last from 3 days to 1 week. I dunno how I'm gonna tahan 1 week loh... He's awake almost the whole night screaming to be latched on (T_T)

I'm also going broke on diapers. This morning David pooped on his clean diaper the moment I changed his diaper. Then I change, and 5 minutes later, he pooped again!!! He pees when I change him also, but I always put a piece of tissue in place as safety measure. Heehee

lavendry: My gynae turned off my epidural totally when I was 9cm dilated. It was quite terrible. I hear he's the only one who practises that. But ok lah, that's probably the reason why the labour was fast.

Hee...juzyounme's turn! Can't wait to see her birth story too. Jiayou!

Massage: Is it too late for me to do it now? I have been procrastinating on getting a massage lady. Can recommend?

Today went for baby's first week of checkup. Everything is normal, he put on 300g since his last weight which means good news!

Saw Joanne as well at TMC..her baby Ashlynne is so cute..hehehe

Today also my mom allow me to wash my hair, after 1 whole week (7 days) - so nice..i wash twice..and also ordered McD as lunch..kekeke..

Bringing Zach out today is considered successful cos he is very 'guai' sleeping most of the time and din even cry for his milk when pass his feeding time..

i started to bind juz now at 12pm, wanted to untie before sleep too but cannot as i got to take shower by 6pm(if too late mum will scold) coz tomolo need to bring my son for PD review, dun wan to look oily & smelly while outside so must untie the binder to shower lor... the most i can do is to put on my girdle only after shower coz i dunno how to tie the long white cloth ler....

but u oso very steady can tie for so long... hehe, peifu peifu

Jess: For my massage, i left the binder on overnight. My massage lady said it's recommended to leave on for at least 12 hours & best is overnight. You can shower tomorrow morning before you bring your son for PD review.

Btw, i farted a lot after my 3rd massage session. My massage lady managed to get the air out from my tummy. The farts were super smelly!!! I was farting almost continuously for 2 days!!!

As for jaundice, my baby's jaundice is mild. Doc just said sun him for a few days. My mom said you can boil 3 red dates in water & after that, just give 3 TEASPOONS of the water to your bb. Supposed to help jaundice. I tried that but i didn't spoon-feed...i put 3 teaspoonfuls into his milk. Haha...

Spag: Me too! So far, i've used up almost 4 packs of NB diapers! Same like you...sometimes, Preston will pee/poo just after a fresh diaper has been put on!

Emeraldbride: Heh, washing your hair must have felt terrific! When i brought Preston for PD review last week, he was quite guai too. He needed milk but he didn't make a fuss. I was able to latch him on without him crying.

Next time i bring him out, have to bring bottles for EBM...dunno if he can stand waiting or not!

Diapers
I'm also changing a lot a lot of diapers for Emma! She always poops twice whenever she feeds - once during and once after. And of course, through out the day. She's also quite gassy (because of poor latch while bfg), so her poop can get quite explosive. Which means her clothes or even the bedsheet gets stained too! Sigh...

Breastfeeding
I'm doing TBF and was having a lot of problems with Emma's latch. She was fussing a lot at the breast, refusing to latch. When she did manage to latch, she would often pop off the breast a lot, spit up the milk, cry and refuse to latch again. Hb and I spent many hours trying to coax her to eat, but eventually started her on a bottle with EBM so that we could get some sanity and sleep.

Then today we finally decided to go down to TMC Parent Craft Centre to get help from the Lactation Consultants there. The LC was very helpful in improving Emma's latch! She dissuaded us from bottle-feeding and showed us how to cup feed instead. We spent about 1.5 hours there and already, at the next feed after my session there, I could see improvement in her latch.

I thought I was having forceful letdown or oversupply, because of Emma's gassiness and spitting up. But it turned out to be a problem with her latch, which prevented her from swallowing the milk properly and ended up swalloing a lot of air instead. For all mummies who are determined to breastfeed but are facing problems, I strongly recommend you to go to an LC to help with your problems. It can really help a lot.

My session there was about $40+. But it depends on what you go in for. Mine was for latching training. But the other lady in the room with me was there for blocked ducts, so maybe the price will be different? I think you can also get them to come to your house - the price is about $120+? I saw before on a leaflet but forgot the actual price. But I'm sure you can ring them to ask.

gynae say once my bp is stabilise, i can start massaging liao. I cant wait.. though my tummy disappearing soon - i realise TBF can really slim down alot..i still feel the flabbiness on my tummy and arms. But she give the go ahead to apply cream on my tummy for firming..yippee!!

Today also remove stitches for my c-sect, wound healing nicely liao..hopefully will not leave a obvious scar.

I suppose Juz still in labor bah

Pris, the number of soiled and wet diapers David generates overnight is shocking loh. I was using Pampers Stages NB because the wet indicator gives me a peace of mind how often he pees. But I think it's becoming too expensive liao. I'm switching to G.oon or Mamy Poko.
