Lynn,
Ya working is tiring but when you think of the compensation in term of monetary wise, it is a console
happy.gif

Since your maid is taking care of him, would it be possible for you to ask you maid bring him down to walk walk a few minute b4 you are home. Once you reached home, you can take a quick shower and head for him.
Ppl around me tells me that they will outgrow the anxiety and I'm hoping for it to happen as I intend to register her for PG.

Jo,
I dun think Durian is linked to bad skin. I didn't had durian for my #1 (durian super turns me off when I had her) Her skin also bad and super sensitive. For #2, I had craving for durian, and had it a few time, her skin is good. My mum told me gene play a part too.
Just take her nagging as some wind blowing on your ears. Go in 1 ear and come out the nest ear.

lynn: Actually I quite believe old ppl logic like cold drinks for children and adult can cause cough, even preggie mums should not drink too much cold water when preggie bcos baby born can cough a lot.

Yakult also not recommended, my mum gave my bro yakult when toddler and he suffered from asthmas until teenager. But mum did not feed me yakult and I was fine. My bro liked yakult a lot when young.

I also ate durians last time when preggie my baby complexion was silky like tofu! I think its true, birds nest was great too.

alynat: My gal normally curious what I eat and tries to eat everything I eat so i choose food to give her. Foods like rice, shredded pcs of chicken, meatball (cut up small bits), bread, cakes (not too much), sushi (the egg one). She can try...she doesn't like mushy porridge anymore so now I have stopped cooking those as was throwing all away everyday.

So now her dinner is my soup + rice mix together + spinach/potato/chicken pcs/ carrots/ meatballs cut up (like dodo brands etc).

Morning mummies

So far the only outside food i've given BBA is porridge (w/o the sesame oil, seasoning and stuff they usually add at the end) and noodles. But i always drench the noodles in hot water before giving to him. But i guess, to a certain extent, there's still some msg in them bah..
I think that some of my friends think that i'm anal when it comes to food for BBA, like why so fussy. However, i feel that, at the end of the day, our kids will still get to eat outside food, and its just a matter of time. I just wanna "prolong" this time for as long as possible. If they never tried fried chicken, they wont knw their mummy's cooking is so bland. hahaha
But thats my own take la..

So far for home-cooked meals, i've not added any seasonings, except for soups, which is a pinch of salt at the end. BBA doesn't like to drink water, but drinks alot of soup. And i noticed, when he drinks soup, he's poo poo is yellowish and mash-y. If not, he's poo poo is dark brown and like play-doh. Or.. like my dog's poop! haha

Anyone here gives left-over soup for baby the next day?

Highlanders Rainbow Rice - is this in the organic section or can be found easily at any NTUC? Whats the price like for 1 packet and how big issit? Sounds very yummy!

Baby Skin
Haiz, i was taking birds nest when i was preggas with BBA, but dunno why hor, he's skin is so dark! Started with his legs became very dark coloured, den his arms, but his joints area, like the groin, and the back of his knees and the elbows there hor, is very fair!
My mil says i never bathe him properly -_-

adenmum, i believe the child's skin color/texture is more linked to genes.
MILs....... again ..... senseless..... hahah

The rainbow rice, u can get it from the dry products section of NTUC (where u find dried red dates, green beans etc). One pack contains 2 sachets. Each sachet can cook abt 4 meals (i mix with white rice). Cost i think is $3.80 per pack

adenmem, t stock for my girl's porridge is frozen one (i make in batches beforehand)
For soup to go with rice, I will give new one, if available.

Lynn,
I think i am the one who's not ready to put R in half day/full day CC rather than R not ready. So i enrolled her for 2 hrs PG.

Snnowy,
Good luck to you, hope it won't take too many days before she revert back to her previous self. If i latched then give R the bottle, she sure reject. Now i am giving her FM in bottle then latch and when she fall asleep transfer her to the mattress next to my bed.

KAren,Snnowy,
Yup, our boobs can really comfort a sick child. I read that kids will eventually wean themselves off our boobs naturally, that's why Karen is still enjoying this special bond before it's gone. Haha.

Jo,
I also eat durians when preggy but R's complexion also turn out fine. Like that she also can link to durians?

Lilian,
R self-fed for quite some time le. I just sit her in her high chair next to us while hb n me also eating. I give her the bowl and spoon. Then she observe us n follow what we are doing. But initially they can't guide the spoon into their mouths(hold spoons in odd angles)so i will then hold her hand and guide the spoon into her mouth. I just leave her to observe us for some time n eventually she can self feed herself.

Darlest,
I have put seasoning in R's food already because she eats our food as well. i use light soy sauce instead of salt.

bbZel, so nice tat R can self feed herself
happy.gif

T prob with my K hor, is tat she's v notti and for sure I can foresee her playing with her food rather than eating them lor.
Give her a bowl of Gerber puff, she'll turn t bowl over. Give her a bowl with water in it and a spoon, she'll splash t water around -_-"
haha.. But i still have to try lah. I tink a bowl of rice will b a good start, at least not so messy if she decides to throw tat bowl on t ground

Lilian,
Yup, got to prepare for her to "chu" patterns. Just lay a piece of plastic under her high chair so easier to clean up later. Sure will be messy but she will learn along the way. Do encourage her and reward her with praises n claps... good luck!

Lilian/BBzel, me too hv not let V self-feed yet cos oso scared of a huge mess. but still, yes, got to start real soon, hahaha

Lilian, i just came back from NTUC, cldn't find the rainbow rice that u were talking abt leh. mayb only NTUC extra sells?

Babyzel,
Yes, I need a lots of luck man. It's really tiring to be a milkmaid esp when she doesn't suckle well. Suck for 5-10mis off she goes, half an half later ask for milk again.
sad.gif

Our boobs can really do wonders. I remembered my #1's time. Whenever she falls or knock herself, once offered boob, can stop immediately.

Lilian,
I intro table food to my toddler last month, meaning she eats want we eat. As for outside food only gave 'hor fun' once and I ordered it to be cooked w/o msg.

Lian,
What is NTUC extra? I also curious abt the rainbow rice. bbk likes it or not?

Jes, if u find it in NTUCs in SK/HG, pls let me know. Vice versa if I see it. Thanks.

poor brandon having fever now.. so poor thing.. keep on crying and wants nothing but ME. haiz... no appetite for anything.. doc say virus.. fever will still continue for another couple of days.. me still under probation now.. cannot take leave..
sad.gif

poor lynn and bbB, my gal also sick. brought her to see PD just now.

lian, keen in tat rainbow rice, will go find, if i find it, will let the rest of the mummies know.

lian and the rest of the mummies, guess wat, just now my hb pop the question to the PD regards to adding seasoning to baby food. the PD say better not till she is 2 years old. i cant help but giving my hb the smirk (i told u so) look. haha..

morning mummies!

ah lian's tip is good. i'll go check out rainbow rice this weekend. wonder whether can get at city square mall. kai is sick of grocery shopping at hougang point.

on the babies skin thing, is quite dubious cos i had 3 at the same time & all 3 got v different skin!

Darlest,
You sounds like a spoke person for NTUC. haha

Aly_nat,
NTUC extra is just the name of ntuc in different mall/location. It is still like any other NTUC you see out there. AMK hub's NTUC is named NTUC Xtra, NTUC at Thomson plaza is named NTUC Finest. But at the end of the day, it is just NTUC. But like Darlest mentioned, there can be different price in the same product b/w xtra and finest.
happy.gif

Olwen,
Your kids on Dumex All-in-1? Just saw that NTUC (Hougang point) has promotion. 2 tins of 900, bundled with a free 400 gg at $48.60. Go and stock up.

So fast the thread for 2011 is out there.

darlest, haha... Good tat ur hubby is 'convinced' now
happy.gif

aly_nat, I asked bbK if t rainbow rice is nice, she nodded her head. haha... but i must say she's not fussy eater lor
happy.gif

oh btw, i mixed the rainbow rice with white rice (half half portion).

ah Jes, bought it liao? Or wanna meet hougang pt today/tmr for lunch and go ntuc together?

snnowy!!! U eyeing on that thread for very long liao right???? hahaha...
BUT it's still not time to try for rabbit yet! Hang on...

Just saw this news

Other than white and brown rice, mummies can give 五谷米 to our kids too. Actually is my dad strongly recommend it, he say will make her bones strong. So now, bbK's porridge always has some mixed into it.

just to share...

Lilian,
Haha, not eyeing on that thread but was just surprise to see it there so fast mah cos I think this month should be Dec bb. Anyway, there might be a change in our plan for bb rabbit.

snnowy, actually me went to that thread to KPO yest. kakak... too boliao
Change? No more want farm animals? Or a tiger on the way?

Lian,
Nvm, then we both change plan and continue to wait...
Taking abt Mother Day, dun know what to plan for MIL again.

hi mummies!

finally i found the rainbow congee at NTUC hougant Pt... after MUCH EFFORT, cos i obviously was cocked-eye and couldn't see it so kept walking back and forth, hahahaha

accordingly to darlest's NTUC list, my side oso got sell lor, again i must have been super duper blind that's y can't find it :p

ah lian, shall we meet next week for lunch? today i got a salon apptmt, then tonight bringing back my rascal so i can't go out 2mrw.

any day next week?
happy.gif

Snnowy, mixed feels leh, sometimes can be quite bored, at times feel quite 'song' though, hahaha

wow, the TTC 2011 thread quite active wor...

Lian,
u really are one lucky mommy to hv a guai gal like bbk who is not a fussy eater. My nat is a complete nightmare when it comes to food. So anytime anybody recommends something sensible n affordable, I will try. My lack of culinary skills dun help
sad.gif
. Wish I can cook like babyzel.

Jes,
I go cold storage if I forget something. Convenient lah. I do once a week shopping at Kopitiam Square wet market. for FM n diaper, I go to the yao cai dian at Rivervale. Nan 3 there cheaper by S$2 per tin. Drypers also cheaper. Thanks to the tip from Darlest n Olwen.

I dun enjoy window shopping/browsing. So when I'm there, I take, pay n get out. Hb always say that's why I dunno how to stretch my $$.

aly_nat, not bad now SK got a huge wet market, my side here dun hv one, if i wanna go i got to travel to somewhere so troublesome. last week when i went to the tiny wet market near my hse, i actually find the stuffs there not any cheaper than NTUC! or maybe they 'chop' me, haha

i quite enjoy browsing ard though... y'day when i wanna buy a good quality brand light soya sauce i can actually browse ard the section for a whole 15 mins comparing there and here. super auntie liao :p

ah Jes, good life leh...
I am like aly_nat, take, pay and go. Especially so if the small one is around.
And true lor, things in wet market more ex than supermarts!

What is good quality brand soya sauce? How to define?

Nuts, u are now a 好汉!
happy.gif

ah lian, no lah, cos i always shop alone so i hv the time to myself. if i really bring V, then it's really take, pay and go liao.

tink kikkoman mus be a top quality brand, cos super ex de...

then nowadays those soya sauce hor, besides the normal grade, many brands got those they defined as "top quality" or "superior" grade so i was oso wondering what's so superior lor, haha

Jes, Lilian
trip was good.. lots of walking but i'm fit enuf for that.. but air quality was bad (the Great Wall view was mong mong de.. thou stil nice la), except for the last 2 days which saw an improvement.. Am glad my MIL and hub din manage to psycho me into bringing my gal along.. My sis's tod was more than enuf to make us tired and frustrating half of the time! kekeke..

Anyway my gal also v heartless one lor.. came back and learnt thruout my trip she din ask/look for me!! Angryz..

pnut, mayb cos she's "angry" with u for not bringing her, haha.... anyway, this kind of lots of walking trip is really not suitable for young kids wan lor.

Hello...

I MIA for quite a few days le hor. Coz got a few big bombs at work since last Friday. Finally settle liaoz.

Alyssa eats the same food as us during weekends dinner when we go out. Her lunches and weekday dinners are specially cooked - usually rice/porriage and soup (no seasoning but I do add dry scallops). Breakfast are free and easy adult food like beehoon, noodle, chee cheong fun, etc.

Good day mummies!

Just arrived in the office. took half a day child care leave to bring my boy to Zoo-phonics this morning.
As usual, he started to cry and wail once the class starts. i stood outside the classroom for the whole 1 1/2 hr while my maid accompanied him thru the class. it's so heartbreaking to hear him cry and wail non-stop for almost one hour, but cannot step into the classroom coz cannot let him see me around. then finally for the last half an hour, he stopped crying as he was tired already and he just walked around the classroom, exploring by himself.
I spoke to the teachers after his class, and they told me its normal for kids to cry during the first few lessons and when they finally get used to the environment, they'll be better. so as for now, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be able to adapt to the class real soon. :p

moomum,
happy.gif
Give D some time. I am sure he will settle down real soon. So in future, it will be ur maid bringing him to class?

Nuts, was MSNing with Minky tis morn. She told me tat Issac slammed t door at her last nite, cos she came home later than usual! And when she went in t room, he asked her to go out.
haha... Issac so cute
happy.gif

Re. Seasoning
